Number 1000 for me.... I wondered how I would fill this prestigious spot and the spot presented itself as if by magic... cruising past this spot we all said what a great place for a cache and could not believe there was not one already there !!! And resolved to place one on the way home .. we got the first ever cache for hotbox111 and stopped to investigate a good spot to place a cache on this deserving spot I looked inside the most obvious place a cache should be and WTF there was a very suspicious looking click clack and I said no way are you sure you have all the caches in the area to team_macdonald yes he said I have them all !!! WOW WE have found an archived cache Hmmmm so what to do .... we searched the log book for clues as to the GC code probably spent 20 minutes searching for a name or code for the cache under traditional and nothing appeared sooooo aubergine it was a multi or mystery .... mmmmmm a multi it was and then the idea formed of just bringing this cache back to life . So off we go to check the first way point was still valid and yes it was (claimed number 1001 at the same spot) it was decided we would bring this one back to life as it used to be and it would celebrate my 1000 cache find .... TFTC will link this cache to the new cache so both caches can be logged for a double smiley of course only if you find that acceptable and if not no harm done..... RAYZR2 found with team_macdonald and hotbox111
Well what a stroke of luck. Was out introducing a friend to the wonderful world of geocaching and we had a cache lined up just down the road to show them as their first. Went and grabbed that and as we were heading back out stopped here to have a look around as we had thought what a perfect place for a cache. It was decided as we jumped out of the car that we are going to place one here, so off we go having a look around for likely spots to be able to hide a cache when we poke our heads around the corner and what do we see........... A cache. So we opened up the container and searched and searched for a gc number so that we could log it as found, but couldn't find anything so we resorted to going through other cachers logs to try and work out what cache it was. After about 20 minutes of going through names and logs we found an archived cache that fits the bill, realising it was a multi off we went to the first waypoint (which is still there and perfect) did the maths and sure enough it lead us straight back to where we were. Now we knew for sure that it was the right cache we decided what better way to keep the history of this cache alive by recreating it and republishing it exactly identical to the original one that was/is here also including the gc code so that others can see it and also claim a double smiley for the new one and the previously archived one also. Obviously great minds think alike as we weren't the only ones who thought this was a great spot. Tftc a great way to find it and a great story for our recreation of this great piece of history and informative cache. Tftc found with Rayzr2 and hotbox111.
This cache has always intrigued me and I wanted to see what it was all about. I had the answers from completing another cache in the same area. Today I was out for a drive in the country so I thought I'd have a nosey. Of course I was also going to look to see if the cache was still there but I didn't need to as I found it while I was looking around. This is a great cache - thanks for pointing it out. #2895
This was a special find. Never ever would we have found these two spots. I wonder who they were? Mother and son? The flu epidemic? I agree with La Vista the coords at the final are 30m out, but they aren't really needed once you get there. Thank you.
Interesting little area, soon had details to find cache. Good location for final, found after a bit of a search. SL TFTC
Found with N!mrod and a lot of help from Bitsprayer. Thought it was a nice quiet area so wanted to explore futher but the road was quite busy.
Thanks

40 years after the Beatles broke up this week, "I get by with a little help from my friends"!! Found with ernienz.
A great Multi. 1st part easy, but co-ords about 11 meters out but after some looking & more thinking got it. TFTC
Would've liked to know more about both WP & final. Like others, we also think our coords for final was about 30m out but no problem finding cache.
I really liked this one. Found the first point "dead centre" so to speak. Solved the puzzle and started to drive away and realised my GPS was indicating a wp 12 km away. A recheck of the puzzle sorted it out and we were off. Found the final cache easily enough. TFTC. MH at the Ash Museum would be pleased with this one.
Interesting spots indeed. I agree that the final coords are way out, a good 30 odd metres, but I went to the logical spot, and soon found it. (Actually I wonder if it was an error in my answers that good me close enough?) Cheers Gav [3600]
Its been a while since my last vist, last time I ended up in the middle of a field, stuffed up some of the dates. but know trouble today, interesting final location, must have been a great place to spend a southern winter. Nice to have it ticked off TFTC
Two interesting spots, enjoyed the visit. The weather was beautiful, but the final coords are a little bit off (by 35m)
Heh! My family owns the final waypoint. I got a bit of a surprise when I come across a funny little box today full of trinkets today and wondered what it was all about, so I came here and found all this.. very, very cool. You're welcome to go inside, if you don't mind going through a window!
Nice spot for WP1 must have mucked it up somehow as ended up miles away in some paddock and to far to go back to check, maybe next time
Interesting location for the cache and WP. This would be one of the smallest cemeteries in the country. + coin
A bit of a drive around, finding gravel roads to update on the open maps! And a bit of history. We must have made a stuff-up, as we zeroed on the other side of the creek. Eventually (after a lot of effort!) I managed to decrypt the hint. That was a nasty trick to play on my PDA! Only one of the 3 methods of displaying the hint let me recrypt it. Then it was a quick easy find. I wonder if they'll restore it sometime? TNLN, Thanks.
Cache number 900! Yay! An odd place now for a cemetery and luckily it wasn't lost to the forestry around it, the cache was a quick find. Took both the TB and coin as they've been in here a while. Thanks.
#1199 Interesting places that could have come from the Wild West. Exchanged geocoins. DS8300
found cemetary... found final cache location... found thorny tree... found suspicious EMPTY rectangle shaped hole at base of said thorney tree... with lots of flattened grass leading under thorny tree, just an assumption but it may have been flogged??? (daughter is completely dissapointed with geocaching now... it cost me an iceblock and fizzy drink just to stop her moaning) We searched everywhere except in the house... I presumed from the hint "no one at home" we were not to go inside.
1862. Luckily this cache didn't take us as long as the previous one so we were able to catch up a bit. That is an interesting location - with two and only two residents!
- Evil micro geopin + Modern Days Outlaw TB + hose fitting and trumpet
Thanks

Final co-ordinates a wee bit out for us also but found the cache reasonably quickly. Nice spot.
Two very interesting places that we would never have seen had it not been for this cache.... our waypoint for the final was about 30 metres out, but after bashing around in the undergrowth, had a look in more obvious places and eventually found it... TNLN - Thanks!
Finally I got back to this one after trying it in very thick fog and a wrong clue on the night it was published. No wonder I'd not seen the building in the fog - it was well beyond the reach of my headlights that night (which had been in the order of a few meters only!!).
Ended up being a nice easy find with rattusbaggus. Beautiful afternoon for a drive in the country . Made some swaps. Dropped in West Chester TB.

Neat cache - loved the first waypoint.
Gave my car a wash - inside and out, trying to take a direct route to Ashburton from the final waypoint of this one.
TFTC - and the adventure.

Thought it best I knock some local caches off before the weekend event. Good to see they have not been forgotten. Rain front came through as we were signing the log.
Took sea erchine and geocaching wristband put in puzzle and bellbird phone card (used).
Thanks for the cache

A quick visit to the grave site to get the clues, then off the next waypoint - to get blocked off by a cow crossing! A detour got us there in the end.

QUOTE " is this worthy of a cache " Dam right it is, this is what caching is all about.
well done on finding the spot
Many Thanks Bitsprayer

We had a bit of fun with this one. The list co-ords took us to an interesting little spot. Good to see that it is maintained and not forgotten. We got to the final location, and hunted around. Initially we were coming up empty, and thought we must have got things wrong. We read through some of the previous logs, widened our search area a little, and soon B had the cache in hand. Very sneaky.
Took Geocoin.
Took Geocoin.
Dropping in a coin to starts it's journey around NZ before heading home to Sweden via Aussie
Sorry guys, Only one "e" now and the mysterious "c" has appeared. Couldn't make it too easy for you
FTF with a twist. Where does the placer find these unique places. Nice Hide. Love the tree! Had difficulty with the clues, so a challenge for the final spot in the dark and fog AGAIN. Took Sweedish Coin left Hawaiian micro. TFTC SL
Found with rchdlyn. Took Hawaiian micro left Look mum no paper geocoin (left near a really cool tree). TFTC SL Then fell asleep in car.
Yes... watch with interest... yes...
Took a decent drive in thick, thick, thick fog (not an understatement, believe me!!) to the listed co-ordinates. As I was pulling up there was a farm truck pulling away... interesting for 11pm at night... wonder if someone had already been here and the local farmer was investigating? [ETA - Yep, it would seem so. While I was writing this the FTF was logged]
Anyway, solving the puzzle I found that there were two answers for 'e', and no answer for 'c'. Tried solving it by using the two answers for 'e' and swapping them but I was getting no where fast in the very thick fog down small country roads where I couldn't even see what I was probably looking for!
Anyway, had fun all the same. Lets get the clues sorted please and I can have another go in daylight.
