After surveying cache ground zero, SixStars have decided to put this one out to pasture. The fact that the container has been found and destroyed 3 times means the site has probably got a regular muggle seeker. The Thunder of the guns may be heard in another location soon.
It seems this one has been rumbled again. I think the lifespan of this particular piece may be drawing to a close as the cache is disappearing regularly but SixStars will investigate modifying the container as the next best option. Until then - the thunder will be silent.
Thunder of the guns and ruffasgutts4x4 are doomed to be cursed! I had another search for this one as I made my way northwards early this morning. I eventually pulled out 3 or 4 magnets that have been freshly removed from there container with the glue on the back of them still. I left them on the base of the gun where they should not be of too much interest till there owner can take a look. Sorry Six stars pretty sure it's gone again.
Though I've been there quite early both times, I suspect others may have been there while those inside are watching out, people inside can see us but we cannot see them!
May be worth checking with the establishment for permission
before redoing this one. But then again it's possible I just missed it!
Cheers hope it turns up!

It is kinda hard to know if you're being watched here. Hopefully no one was interested in us. The club looked deserted, and it was Monday afternoon. TN/LN/SL.
Quick find with Geo-uncle Lat & Long Junkie on our Top Gear Tour down south. Couldn't tell if anybody was watching through those windows so applied the old I'll take a picture and you look for it plan. TFTC.
We grabbed a bite to eat a few k's up the road, but the fast food emporium was packed! So we ate our lunch on one of the convenient picnic tables, then tried our hand at finding the cache. We gave it a good go, but even after decoding the "Hints", this one was just too tricky for us! Had a sneaking suspicion we were on display the whole time... Hopefully we'll have another chance to hunt this cache one day. Thank you for the history, the interesting cache page, and the opportunity though Six Stars!
Had to be subtle with this one, as we were sure muggles were watching us from inside! Cheers Gav [3263]
Found with the kiwi team on our great Australian caching tour.
A fairly tricky location but we developed a bit of a ruse for this one.

Team GPS.org.nz Cache Raid: Helps to have a geokid, like Pohutakawa, handy for the search while those inside have their lunch. T4TC, M@
I came here quite early this morning before too many prying eyes noticed me. Using the hint given I still had no sucess here. I didn't waste anytime searching the whole canon as the hint suggests it's in one particular area. I did find a broken off magnet from what looks like a magnetic key container, I left it in it's place, suggest this one gets a maintenance check!
But then maybe it just wasn't where it should have been!
Next time!

Yes it had gone - again! SixStars replaced the previous container with a new one plus a new log in a new location. The container is still on the object in question, but hopefully in a slightly more secure position. See the clue, if you have to.
Introduced a friend to caching on this one. He found it in less than five seconds. He can't see what all the fuss is about. He reckons he'll have 100 finds by the end of the week.
I think geocaching has claimed another victim.

Well this was a great hide, I really like the use of the magnets. We where all over this gun trying to find it, we must of look very suspicious.... Thank god it was early..
Thanks for the cache and the fun play park close by. Our little geo-daughter loved all the slides today..
Cheers

488 These dang things attract hiders I'm sure. A bit of camo would have been good. TFTC Six_Stars
Found whist up this way visiting rellies. Not a muggle in sight. Found quickly.
Thought it might be a nice find for Anzac day, but the muggles where everywhere and it was raining raining raining. So being in Uniform and not having the chance to lie down to check underneath I thought I would leave it for another day.
Easy find considering where it was and the problems we've had with like minded caches before!! TNLN
found this one
nice spot
the geokids played on the equipment while me and the geowife located the cache
did have to be aware of some muggles

Found this one at 630pm and it was a good time as it was pretty deserted down there. Took only a few minutes of searching and we had the cache in hand and signed the new log. TFTC.

We're back in business! Updated the container (slightly larger - still bring your prefered writing implement just in case) which hopefully makes it weather and muggle proof, and a new log sheet.
Cache was damaged by water (and possibly muggles) and had to be withdrawn. Will replace ASAP.
Found after a short search while Teri looked on from the car taking photos of my endeavours. Had stayed just up the road at the Country Comfort. TNLNSL, thanks six_stars.
Great cache. Looked over the actual location but could not see the cache. Exploration with out eyes was necessary...thanks Amanda.
climbed all over the cannon and couldn't find it,but luckily Miss.Hepworth got it. Thanks!
Took the family along for this one, in the company of hoppy_bounce and his crew. My wife found it after a moderate search. A good cache for families as there are swings close by. TFTC
