Decided to Walk in here to find this one like the last two finders. I actually went down to the side of the tree and it did look like what was in the photos but I did not find the case that was in the photos pretty sure i was at the right tree like the others, so I did not find for me today. Thanks for the hunt anyway.
Unable to locate this one. Don't think it was muggled, as there are too many cobbler pegs in the way. Might have been washed out though. Definitely some erosion at the tree suggesting some water has gone through that spot before. Definitely at the correct spot. Was able to match the tree and the view in the pictures. Might go back for it and try to look further around. Hopefully it's still there.
Unfortunately I walked away with a DNF for this one today. Even after following the hint, GPS and matching up the pictures it wasnt there. I suspect it has been muggled as I believe I was in the correct location. A lot of thorn scratches and nothing to show for it; a bit sad.
Out walking the Paradise to Westport track this morning while camped at Dandabah for the week. What a special place the Bunya Mountains are. Thanks for placing this cache and bringing me to this Spikey lookout, incredible view out over the plains today. TFTC
An awesome extra bonus for the west cliff walk, my group did a sunset hike and watching it from this serene mossy Grotto was spectacular. Exactly why I love hunting for geocaches on my walks! Worth potentially getting a spike from the cacti
We have been looking forward to the opportunity to do a few walks in the bunya mountains. Today we had a day trip here from chinchilla and managed 4 walks. This Trail was the second one.
The Trail was peaceful with no one else around. There was so many birds darting across in front of us, and at GZ we were met with spectacular views.
A great place to hide a geocache.
Thanks storkers

First time going on this walking track. Loved the ammo box. Ended up with pants covered in cobblers pegs TFTC
It was a perfect day for the Bunya Mountains. Not too hot, not too cold.
We did couple of walks - like this one.

We are staying in Bell and want to do some walks in the Bunya Mountains today. Had been here before, but I like to see the upgrades and the area again.

On our trip home we headed to Bell to pickup some older caches in the Bunya Mountains area. Yesterday, we took a massive walk on the eastern side but today was the western side - a little warmer here today.
Great views but it a shame that this the area has so many prickles.

Met up with RoddyC, Hatsoff and GrannySmith1947 who were on their way home from QOGM21, I had been to QOGM21 but came home earlier and now spending a couple of days in the Bell and Bunya region. Long walk into the cache but eventually found what we were looking for. Sure was spiked at GZ. Log signed by all and replaced as found. TFTC

On our way home from Charleville spending a couple of days in the Bunya area before finally arriving home after almost three weeks away.
Great walk today with a stiff but cooling breeze. Cache and contents OK.
Log signed and cache replaced as found at 11:30 PM on October 4, 2021. TFTC, Storkers

Found while on a nice walk during a big family holiday with the whole tribe. Matty actually found this one and retrieved it. Signed the log , and added Groewrs who was along on the walk also. TFTC, Starkers, oops, I mean Storkers.
Definitely lives up to its name! Took us beginners a while to find it but enjoyed the challenge!
I arrived near GZ at the exact same time as some muggles so I had to pretend I found something really interesting on my phone until they disappeared. I overshot GZ a bit and came upon a bare rock where a large snake was sunning itself. Interestingly, it looked blue from one side but when I carefully walked around it, it looked yellow from the other side. I took a couple of pictures and left it alone while I went to make a quick find. Thanks for the cache
Absolutely loving the caches in this area. It’s a stunner of a day! Thanks for maintaining this great cache.
Took a short walk from Wescott parking area to find this cache. Very pleasant stroll with no hills which was a surprise given the location. Anyhow, the cache was found and the log signed without being spiked on anything . Sat and gazed at the view for a while and found it interesting to compare what I could see here with what I saw on the way to 'Big Bunya' earlier. Quite a few muggles are signing the logbook. Nice of them not to damage the cache as so often happens.
That was a nice walk to this cache - it was early morning so we had the track to ourselves. Lovely views of the area. TFTC
Walking weekend getaway with the girls. Nice little spot. Took a seat and admired the view. Went in for the cache. TFTC TNLNSL.
Found in Jan 2020 with the geodaughter, NoonShadow. Just made an account and logging the find!
Got near gz, uhm... 19m that way. After some hesitation, found my way along the geotrail carefully as I would rather avoid anything spikey. Glad it was a quick find. Tftc.

Saturday. Mrs SP and OBC were getting a grand tour of the Bunya Mountains area today and collecting some caches for good measure. We came across the container out in the open, which was a bit of a surprise. So many cactus and prickly pear around here. The paths are just gorgeous, most were nice and wide and flat and had beautiful trees giving shade to the paths. Unfortunately, the waterfalls had stopped flowing but there were water holes here and there with beautiful tadpoles swimming in them. Saw lots of Gympie Gympie as well.
This was the 3rd of 9 caches found on this outing.
Thanks ***Storkers*** for showing us this place

What an amazing day! I had no real plans for how it would go - other than to pack my hiking bag, head to the Bunyas with Slow Puncture to meet up with Albyalbatross and grab some of Queensland's oldest geocaches. To find these caches with the CO was a real buzz. We walked and talked and explored the beautiful Bunya mountains while discussing some of the earlier days of geocaching and how this amazing hobby has evolved.
I took photos of the wind farms, Tarong, some GIANT hoop pines, original logbooks, and unfortunately, some dry dusty soil. The drought has really made an impact at the Bunya mountains, and it was rather sad to see brown rather than lush green, and bare rocks rather than waterfalls. But we made the most of it, spotting King and Crimson parrots, listening to whip birds, and chasing after bush turkeys for a cheap dinner (OK, that last part was a lie!). Exploring hidden caves and little-known vantage points and waterfalls.
Somewhere along the way we turned left when we should have turned right, and we managed to do 26.3 kms from sun up to sun down. I was tired - a happy kind of tired the dictionary describes as LANGUOR. What a great day. I kinda faded towards the end - so very tired, a combination of sun exposure, dehydration and few kilometers on my feet, but it was worth it.

This was the last of four on a long walk from Mt Kiangarow to Paradise. I was glad that it wasn’t too far off the main track because I was pretty tired after dropping my jacket 1.5 km back and hence adding 3 km to my one way journey! But this was another great view out to the vast Darling Downs, as I was reminded of Banjo Patterson’s poem “Clancy of the Overflow”:
“… and he sees the vision splendid
of the sunlit plains extended…”
Thanks Storkers for an extra reason to stop here, good job!

Found with a group including 1 other cacher and 4 muggles and it was a muggle who spotted it first. Great spot. Took decorated ram left warthog. Tftc
T-Tech and I are road-tripping from Brisbane to Bunya Mountains for the weekend.
Today we plan to collect the 4 caches in the north-western corner of the park, by taking the short-ish walk from the road in to each cache and back out again. First we parked at Paradise and headed to this one. Loved the walk out here, the view was great, and we made a quick find. TFTC, Storkers.

Out of Brisbane with IolantheK for a celebratory Anniversary getaway
A new day in the Bunya Mountains and about 12-14Kms of walking to get the caches we want to do [^]
Nice easy, cache is dry and in good condition [^]
Enjoyed climbing a tree (or should I call it a vine) that I discovered along the path where a tree had been over taken by a strangler vine, then the tree had died and rotted away leaving a climbable lattice [^]

My husband and I decided to come up here from Brisbane and stay at the accomadation centre nearby in possum lodge. It's the first weekend allowed after lockdown during covid19. We enjoyed the walk to gz and the hint and geo trail helped us find this cache. Thanks for taking us here and for placing this cache here for us to enjoy.
Took my newbie Dad with me on this hunt. We found it after a little trouble - my app stopped loading the details so we had to go from memory. Nice sized cache and safety tucked away from muggles. I've been to the area many times and never seen it so dry, so we need to all do a rain dance...
Our second cache for 2020 and for today. Josie and I enjoyed finding it together. Thanks
Started out at paradise and walked to Burton's Well, picked up this cache after taking in the views at the nearby lookout. Great views tftc
Spikey - yes, Views - yes, must be the spot! Quick find on an walk after lunch. Thanks Storkers
Out for an early walk before it got too hot. Certainly found lots of spiky plants on our way to GZ.

An early start at 7am to this appropriately named cache.
Very cold, windy and misty as we made the 25 minute walk from Paradise car park.
Unfortunately we had no views due to the mist.
Thanks for placing this cache

Second find on my long walk for the day. Headed across the the western side and again pretty much had the place to myself. Enjoyed the views and then ducked down to find the cache. Looks like it has also had a muggle find as I had to remove some evidence of partying from the container. All good otherwise although perhaps there has been some cache creep as the hint no longer quite fits the location - TFTC.
Out and about in the Bunya Mtn's finding the last 8 caches I have left.
All up I hiked very close to 20km.
Clear sky, very warm temps, and great views west were the name of the game today. [^] Then back to the car for more water and onto the next one.
A gentle walk out to this cache from the Wescott Picnic area. And GZ certainly lived up to its name ... spiky.
The cache was dry and in good condition.
Thanks for the cache.

An overnight camp in the Bunya Mountains with plenty of bushwalking to find all the spectacular scenery and great caches here, seemed an ideal opportunity to test out my new swag and visit a top spot.
After hiking to the Big Box, my feet were killing me so I took a break and set up the swag and chilled for a bit. The feet were feeling better and I didn't want to leave this obe unfound so I grabbed the backpack and hiking pole and headed here. It was a pleasant walk, with a couple of glimpses of the view and a variety of ecosystems too.
At GZ, a short search was all that was required, love the ammo can and enjoyed reading all the old logs. It was then time to head back to Dandabah for a well earned hot shower.
Thanks for the hunt **Storkers**, this find makes #4489. Discover our TB

TFTC going back to some of the places we visited before we knew about caching. Lovely view!
Found after a short walk from the near by car park. At first we stopped at Westfield lookout to take in the view and then headed to GZ to find the cache. Not long the cache was in hand and we sat on the near by rock ledge and signed the log. Replaced things as found and headed off to find some more caches.

Found with the geo-crew during a Sunday hike around the western side of the park. I love ammo can caches. Many thanks Storkers
