Gathered clues last year and are GZ today before the footy, searched the wrong concrete for a long while until finding the correct one Thanks
Decided to spend the afternoon at the Queens Domain to get some Caches, only to find when I got there, that there was an event on at the Botanical Gardens. Bugger, well that rules out one cache and well for that matter a few others due to not being able to park anywhere. LOL never mind, I got a few in, then headed down to the Cenotaph before heading over the bridge to complete a multi that I started a while ago & ended up getting another three while I was over there. After working out the first part of the Multi quite some time back, I finally got to complete this one, with a little help from red tag as I had the first part a little out. After a nice walk to GZ and a fairly quick find and log before returning back to the car. Thanks for the adventure.Below are the caches I did for the day. Ten in total bringing my overall finds to 247.GC3S5G4GC84PYYGC9N0D6GC9NHFJGC1TGVZGC29Y9WGC168BXGC3NXXZGC9P7HMGC4JXPJ
Got it this time. I tried in the very early am last week but had no luck. Easy find today. No Texan Rigs? TFTC
My wife and I have flown down from Brisbane to Hobart for a short holiday to use up the last of our remaining flight credits collected during Covid. While my wife enjoyed a sleep in, I headed out bright and early on a rather chilly morning to find some geocaches.
I had planned to visit a challenge cache on the opposite side of the river as my first stop of the day. As we are travelling without a car I had planned the connecting buses required to get me near GZ but these plans were thrown into disarray when the first bus failed to show up. This set me back an hour before the next set of buses would line up appropriately. After finally completing my challenge cache I was next headed towards Rosny to visit a few caches including this one.
Normally during the planning stages of my geocaching trips, I will do some online research for multi caches to try and make the most efficient use of my usually limited time once on holidays. Often I can actually calculate the final GZ and for this particular cache I had some adjusted coordinates stored on the cache page. Thinking this was the GZ location I set about searching for the cache container. I was encouraged as certain features at this location matched the hint so I doggedly continued for close to half an hour, determined to claim the unloved time on offer on this cache. After checking all conceivable locations that could conceal a cache I sat to reconsider my options. It was only then that I took particular notice of a nearby feature and the information being displayed. It then dawned on me that my adjusted coordinates were in fact for WP2 and not the final. Utilising the displayed information I was able to calculate a new set of coordinates, a location I had passed by earlier and thought I would like to explore further but didn't have the time. Well I would get that chance now!
Upon arriving at the new GZ the cache was found almost immediately - makes a difference when you are looking at the right place!! Stamped my name in the logbook and continued my stroll in the right direction. TFTC

This adventure started when we were here on a weekend visit last month, we collected some information but thought we’d messed up our numbers….I wasn’t expecting to be back in Tassie quite so soon but I had another opportunity to try again. Numbers gathered, sorted and crunched…we tried to find this one last night after dinner…..but came up with nuthin’, nada, zip! Then this evening at our event we may have asked a local or two about it and asked for confirmation if we were even in the right spot and if we were looking for what we thought we were looking for. Our ideas confirmed, we swung by here before heading out to the airport for a more thorough search and guess what? Found it! Not surprised we missed it though, it was dark last night!
Thanks red tag for the adventure!

TFTC, started this multi on Sunday when I arrived in Hobart. Calculated wp2 but unable to get out here until today. Able to make some quick calculations and find the gz. A little bit to find the cache, but nice set log to sign and a quiet place. TFTC! Nice to pick up the unloved days.
During the reception of a friend's wedding on April 3 nearby, i slipped away for the start of this Multi. I saw what was needed and grabbed the number aswell.
That evening i worked out the result of WP1 which had me in a spot that had me doubting my sums. I was thinking how could it be there? Maybe it is... just not in the drink lol
Fast 4wd to today i decided to just go check it out anyway for WP2.
With a bit of an educated guess i saw the needed numbers on an object for the final to be worked out. Back at the GeoMobile and the final was worked out in a jiffy and i was off to find the cache. "Trust the GPS" i say and the sums that i went over about 3 times for WP2. My numbers were correct but this doubting-thomas wasn't confident lol

The cache and contents are in great shape

When I saw that Tasmania was about to re-open its borders, I made arrangements straight away to fly to Hobart from Adelaide to catch up with family and friends (and of course, to find a few caches).
Today I thought I'd try to find some caches that interested me on the eastern shore.
I collected the information required for WP2 at the starting point yesterday and finished this one with a short walk while out and about this morning.
The cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks red tag for the cache.

Spotted the info at WP1 quickly enough and calculated the coordinates for WP2. We confused ourselves for a short time at WP2 because we thought that hint 1 was for WP1 and hint 2 was for WP2. Once we trusted the GPS we found the relevant numbers and were soon on our way to the final were we used hint 2 for a quick find.

Third attempt visited this multi and looked for WP1, gave up!! will come back later...
Today TaurusSix and I attempted this cache. Found the WP1 info, after staring for a while. Then had to get to the movies. Afterwards we came to have a look at WP2. It took me two looks to realise the task. Then off to get the cache. Found easily enough, all good despite no visits on over a year.
On an urban cache walk. Got to WP1, calculated what I thought were the coords for WP2. Alas the cache was to far off route.

Another cache that we had solved some time ago but not yet ventured to the final GZ. Today was the day and cache found in good condition after a short search. TFTC.
Working in the city, I walk past WP1 for this cache a number of times a week. So I'm not really sure why it has taken me so long to get around to doing this cache. Anyway, last week I decided to have a go and made my way to WP1. I looked at a few things, looked at the hint, looked at a few more things, wasn't sure what I was meant to be looking at, checked the hint, looked at the description, looked around again, and then I went and asked EeePees as I knew he had found it. He gave me a few suggestions (Thank you EeePees!) and sent me back to WP1. So off I trotted in my afternoon tea break and I took my pen and paper and wrote some things down. Back at my desk, still had a minute or two of my break and co-ords for WP2 were calculated. Today the GeoGSP and I headed out on a magnificent morning to WP2 and then on to GZ. There was lots to see from GZ today - a great view, but it's a pity about the litter which invariably accumulates in places like this. Thanks for the cache red tag!
With the week's work done, it was time to head to the airport to see if we could grab the earlier flight home (we couldn't ). There was still time however, to try my luck on this one - the third of a group of Hobart caches for which I'd done most of the work on a previous trip.
Once at GZ (or so I thought ), there was no sign of my quarry but Upoj kept insisting that I wasn't quite there yet anyway. Once I decided to believe poor old Upoj and travel those remaining few metres, I finally had what I was looking for in hand at 13:00 to open its account for 2017.
And what great views from GZ.
TNLNSL, although our Happy New Year to the cache geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks red tag.

The cache was located along with Zeerax who i went for a walk with this evening and this happened to be on the way.
The first WP was identified by 'virtual means' but when in the area I ascertained the required clues and wrote these down. A month or two ago, i found them in my notebook and worked out co-ords for the next WP.
I flew in from over the pond a few weeks ago and went for a walk in the area - the kind of walk you go on when you've been up since 5am, your evening flight has been delayed and you've been cooped up on the taxiways for close to 55 minutes before a flight which is due to have arrived 2 hours earlier and will actually still take an hour can actually take off. So the WP was known and photographed; but not immediately solved until last week.

Travelling around Australia and spending a few months in Tasmania.
No specific plan for today but eventually we decided to head out with the bikes to tackle some caches.
A great day not too hot, not too cool. Some of the bike paths were a bit scary with loose rock and so many hills! Is there any flat bits in Tassie [?] [8)] [:o)]
We did the first part of this Multi a few days ago but werent heading in this direction but today in the area with the geobikes arrived at wpt2 and thought we were looking for a cache not some sort of info once we reread the cache page we were straight onto it. But which way of course that soon became obvious and then off to GZ.
Cache was located swiftly. Interesting multi.

Hey red_tag, TFTC. I like the hide. I enjoyed this multi, although did try it a few weeks back with visiting geoDaughter from Qld. We spend a bit of time at WP1, eventually hoping that we had the info required, but were surprised to find we needed to drive to WP2. On arrival at WP2, we were unable to find anything that would correlate with the 'key' supplied. Perhaps council were doing some maintenance????? Anyway time was against us, as the airport was beckoning.
Now, earlier today, I was at another cache GZ, and it suddenly dawned on me, what I need to look for at WP2.
Once there, I quickly found the info I needed (really not sure if it was there before or not!). Soon Texas Rig was in hand, and log signed. Didn't take a rig as fishing unfortunately, has well and truly taken a back seat, but if it reappears in the forefront, then I know where to grab a texas rig.
Happy to report that cache is in good order; as last find was 5 months ago.

Had wanted to complete this for some time - in fact had a printed outline of the cache details in our "to do" file. Today visited the required establishment and after a little stutter got out some good numbers. A bit surprised on the destination but little detour required so off we go. Get to WP2 and understand what is required. Calculate final details and stroll off into an area well traversed by us. Located the cache in good order and enjoyed the usual views. Rigs are there but decided to leave them for others.

We enjoyed the challenge of the waypoints, the little walk, the view and the hide for this cache. We had no idea what a Texas Rig was, so we googled it. Not into fishing ourselves so we left the generous gift for others to enjoy. Thank you for this cache - a good one.
Nice cache and puzzle great location, thanks for the texas rig all I need now is a boat to go with it, TNLN TFTC log dry and safe
Worked out WP2 after visiting the starting point a couple of weeks back. Quickly found the information I needed and before long we had the cache! Enjoyed the stroll along the track with the Geokids... TFTC
After a push start from the bear I had a crack at this one. I needed 2 visits to WP1 as I forgot to get the number! From there it was easy. Just needed to wait for some weekend time. Great spot and well hidden. Thanks red tag, most enjoyable
We had worked out the co-ords for WP2 awhile ago but just hadn't been in the area. Today on the way to pick up the cub from school, a small diversion was made to do this one. A few muggles around but the weather would have deterred most. A lovely little spot. I didn't come prepared to hang the line but I did see a heron grab a feed and enjoy eating it in front of me. Thanks for the rig and the cache Red Tag.
Found with whitewebbs on our caravanning and caching trip down south.
Finding the required information at WP1 resulted in an animated conversation between the 4 of us. Multis always tend to do that. But we somehow extracted the required information to find WP2 and ultimately the cache. Thanks red tag for the cache.

Once we sorted out what words we needed and the number we set off to a waypoint that appeared to be too far away for a 2nd waypoint. We were pleasantly surprised to find at wp2 that we were in a promising spot. Extracted the required info and set off to GZ. Cache located quickly but alas no Texas Rig. Found with Tassie Trekkers. TFTC
I have tried to do this multi a couple of times now but due to getting an answer I considered wrong the first time and then losing the scrap of paper with my notes on I thorough it was best if I just start from scratch.
Being in the area shown on the map I called in and had a look to recollect the needed information and after some time spent doing the workings sat in the car I was sure I had it right and had been close all along (Doh)
Upon getting to WP2 I found that my door number must be wrong since I would be going for a swim if I used the coords I had so after a bit of a rethink I had coords that were land based and stood looking at the idem thinking WHAT??? then after looking on both sides the penny dropped and notes taken, back to sit in the car and work out the final.
Seeing as it was not far to the final it was back out the car and a short walk to GZ and after a quick search soon had the cache in hand, signed log.
Then I noticed no Texas Rigs left Having no idea what one looks like and I had even asked my father-in-law who has been fishing round these parts for over 50 years what one was and he didnt know so I was hoping to collect one and show him but alas the cupboard was empty.
Thanks for a different cache Red Tag I like it when they are not simple like me

Well, we did the hard yards with this one. We arrived in the city early so we could park near the Theatre Royal as we had tickets for Gerry & the Pacemakers. To fill in time we decided to attempt some caches and this multi looked to be the one. We walked from Campbell St to WP1 but discovered we needed assistance from the CO to determine exactly what we were looking for. After the show and a quick calculation (too quick as it turned out) we decided that travelling to Woodbury for WP2 was a step too far for the night. Today, after checking the maths and finding a fatal flaw, we headed to the correct WP2. After staring at, and trying to assimilate, the information for ages we noticed a small boy holding a GPS standing nearby. His father and brother were (you guessed it) FISHING nearby. We had a conversation with the aforesaid Dad and were given a nudge (try huge shove) in the right direction. We found the cache with no trouble at all (except for all that preceded calculating WP3). Thanks to both red tag and JABS for your assistance and patience. TNLN oh, and thanks for the cache, red tag.
Not a DNF in the traditional sense, it's just that I misread the 2nd part and ended up at the first part's location without my original notes. I went for a wander around town yesterday in the heat and got all I needed for the co-ords. I was passing by today and then realised that I needed to solve a second part, but I just couldn't make sense of it. Oh well, I was passing anyway and the first part is a lovely spot. Greetings from the UK.
Worked this one out a little while ago, and decided to grab it while I had a day off with the kids. Great spot.
Did this one over a series of days each waypoint had me scratching my head for a while and at the GZ I spent to much time looking at the wrong feature. Really pleased to Locate this one. Looks a Good spot to fish and a great one to relax.
I have been looking forward to the Texas rig, yes I enjoyed the cache but no Texas rig! Wp1 and 2 took a few moments to decipher but the old seat was already known to me so gz was found with ease. Tftc.
This cache was found as part of a big day of caching the Hobart area with lots of caches found and many interesting sites seen and visited.
Did the leg work for this one over a few trips around town and save the final find until today.
A big thanks to my dedicated driver/navigator, who played hard ball and gave no hints and only got out of the car at the caches he hadn't found, and my little mate who came to most of the finds with me.

Had work the ground work out for this a little earlier, but still passed by the waypoints on this eppic day of caching the city. Enjoy the little park near by GZ and the strange tree behind the fence.

After finding the information at WP1 I was convinced I had made a mistake as I knew I couldn't get to WP2.
I decided to go and have a look around WP2 and see if I could find a clue after a little looking I found the information required 53M from WP2.
After a little walk Found the cache.

Nearing the end of the day, we decided to log another multi on the way home. I am intrigued about the 'Texas Rig' and will look it up sometime! Thanks for the cache Red Tag
Thanks Red Tag, We had a day of caching planed for the East!! and a couple on the west to finish off. When we spotted this one and couldn't resist!!! tftc PS you owe my a Texas Rig!!!!!!!
I have walked past WP1 so many times in the past but never got around to starting this one as I assumed that it would take me to the water, which it does.
However on this trip I have lots of time for longer caches and WP1 info was duly collected and a delightful area at WP2 where I quickly deciphered what I needed.
A great little walk then to the final.
No texas rigs to be seen but a lovely little multi to do this morning.
Thanks redtags.

Found after a hint or two from red tag. I got stuck at WP2, but now I see that it was actually quite easy. Unfortunately my GPS displayed the key all on one line, but now I look at it on the net it makes perfect sense. Cache hidden in a lovely scenic spot, but I still don't know what a texis rig is...
We completed the first WP when we arrived in Hobart last week and after driving around the state and about 2000km later we arrived at WP2 this afternoon! We worked out the required information and made the short walk to the cache. Thanks red tag for an enjoyable multi.
Finished our business in Hobart earlier than expected so decided to grab a couple of caches before heading back. Was never going to be a numbers couple of hours as we have got all the easy ones around the city - after studying a few multis we haven't yet tackled this one was chosen and off we set. We weren't sure if we were on the right track at WP1 but guess we got it right as the info at WP2 was a bit more obvious. Then a nice walk and a quick find. Didn't try the seat - it looked a bit rotten to risk. Thanks.
The information at each waypoint was easy to collect. The view of the river from GZ was spectacular on this magnificent spring day. Alas, we didn't bother the fish. TFTC
I visited the waypoints back when I started cacheing, but my previous trip towards GZ had been muggled from start to finish.
Today there was no one, just a lot of plastic bags and beer bottles, including som right on top of the cache, but it was undisturbed.
TNLN SL
Thanks!

My fourth and final cache for the day following finger examination at RHH. So many memories on this trip. One of my former places of employment, I played cricket for th team that played near the school, fished the waters around and near GZ. Even better, I found it at 2034hrs after a couple boo boos, so the city lights, the cruise ship and the setting sun made this an enjoyable experience except for the squadrons of mozzies and the fact that the trout playing around in front of me was lucky as I didn't have a rod with me. Great cache with little or no scull duggery!!! TFTC and cheers to you both; OldSaint.
A great multi and liked the clues and the final cache - some nice views around too. TNLN TFTC and greetings from the UK
A classic old skool multi! Had a bit of trouble looking for the XX's, more due to the fact there are 2 visible ones at the moment - but one is probably only there during business hours, so I went by the more permanent one, which ended up being right.
Cache found nice and easily in it's hidey hole - I took full advantage of the lack of people round and logged at my leisure on the seat. Thanks red tag.

A neat little multi. Some confusion at the start looking for XX thinking that it meant 2 the same, but once we got over that misunderstanding things went smoothly. Netballer and Quilter headed to GZ today and sat listening to Sound Scape while logging and choosing treasure - purple sparkles won the day Left a travel bug and geocoin to enjoy the views and music. Thanks RedTag, a totally enjoyable experience. Cheers Quilter
I started this while in the city the other day and finally got the opportunity to complete it today. An interesting little conundrum to start with and a nice big cache to finish with at a nice spot. I think I got a number wrong somewhere in between because it took me a bit of time to find Wpt 2, cache blindness again I think.
Thanks,

It was a bit windy at the cache site but it was a great cache to try.
It was great to find a cache on the anniversary of the battle of Auster litz.

I noted 3daygrowths comments and think he is a crawler. The walk to the gz was nice with excellent views of the river, but not worth 5 thumbs up. More a 3 but if the texas rig works I will review the rating Thanks redtag for your efforts.
Did the sums yonks ago but failed to find.
Expanded the search this time and stumbled upon the cache.
What more can I say?......brilliant.....5 thumbs....best cache ever?
Thank you Redtag, my expectations were exceeded.

Well, this is how not to do Texas Rig . . . ! Find the sign when you are near wp1. Go away and do calculations and realise that this is not the correct sign. Go back to wp1 and recalculate. Go to wp2 several weeks later, using coordinates stored in gps – search and search but don’t find cache. Go home and check hint. Return a week or so later after dark and hunt and hunt again, without success. Go home and read whole listing – and discover there is a wp3!!! Return and find cache easily this time!! T pink rig, L frog type lurey thing. Thanks – we think!!
No worries, just discovered late last night my GPS has ceased to function properly so I may have been right off GZ. Breaking in the new Garmin tonight so will return for another go!
A very helpful update from SG-3 today telling us that Texas Rig is "Nice, dry and cosy in it's cool hiding spot, so all is well"
Finally got around to heading out to do the final 2 waypoints. Imagine how my heart sank when I got to GZ and the first thing I saw was a little plastic soldier and a plastic bag lying on the rocks!!!
I had a good look around but I'd say it's been discovered and raided, might want to drop by and check on it...
I'd like to say finding the soldier counted as a find... but, you know.

Found this one tonight GPS had me sufficiently off target last night for me to miss this one, but ended up returning without the GPS tonight and tracked it down.
Great view from here, wish I'd taken the time to get a few more photos.
TFTC and thanks for the chase! Just like fishing only less sedentary LOL

Nice cache thanks Red Tag. Nice stroll along the bank. Was fun and fairly straight forward.
Took a rig and TB.

Found this one when I was Mrs Cheesy Pig. I have struck out on my own and am now logging the caches I found in my previous persona (but not the ones found only by Mr Cheesy Pig of course)! Let me know if you would like me to find it and log it again but under my new name.
Finally decided that it was time to get this cache done. Went to the first waypoint and just went what??
Had to phone the owners who pointed out why I didn't get it - might also be because I am dumb though.
Once I had realised my mistake the second waypoint was easily found. Got the required info and set off to the final waypoint.
Found the seat, and concrete but no cache. At Haunting I was told that I was in te wrong place, looked at waypoint 2 info again and realised I had managed to transpose a number which put me 200 etres off, at a totally different seat and concrete. Went the loooong way home and managed to get the cache logged this time.
Thanks Red Tag a good multi, and a nice lure too.

Thanks Dippedidooda, I nearly dusted off the bike to find Cody; thanks for making it a "smidgen" easier for me to track down the little tacker! SG-3 is taking Cody for a little walk...

Great cache Red Tag, well thought out and accurate coordinates. I haven't been to this spot before and it always amazes me how different the river and bridge look from different vantage points. Took full advantage of your generosity and hope to catch something very soon. TFTC.
It was cold and Gspblu and I were complaining about it, but our own fault for not being properly dressed for the conditions. A very well planned cache - obviously some effort involved in setting it up. Will use my reward soon. Thanks for the cache Red Tag.
I enjoyed this cache very much. I did make it more difficult for myself by assuming that the number XX at WP1 was a number with the same two numbers such as 66, 99, 22 etc. Frustratingly, all of the easily readable numbers were "XY's" so I re-visited a few times trying to find an XX!!! (Derr!!!) I also tried going with various guesses of those(assuming number blindness) and trying them out. After a consultation with Sog, I found that I could have saved myself the extra work and should have stopped being such a nit-picker, and of course it was all then plain sailing. I have jogged by here many times: lovely final location, lovely well stocked cache. Other than the option of wearing them as earrings, the Texas Rigs would be of little use to me, so TNLN. They were very pretty though. Thank you for the very good cache, red tag.
OUR 400th CACHE!
And what a lovely day to go caching. Hardly a cloud in the sky. We were frustrated at GZ by a semi naked cycling muggle who had decided to do some sunbaking on the seat nearby. We walked a little further with the intention of ignoring him until he went away. Which he did.
Took thingummy. Thanks RedTag.

Ahhhh, Red Tag, I am now well equipped to catch myself the odd Rutilus Harengus or two! Sam Carter was the ever-reliable chauffeur this time, even though she has spent WAY too long in Melbourne! We needed one of those electronic device thingies to tell us which way to go! (What are those things called? Aaaaarrrr!) What a great view, and a great trophy! Don't think I've forgotten about yours; this has made me even more determined to get it to you Took strange tasting snake lolly (must admit it got stuck in my throat, so I don't think you can bribe me any longer!), and guiltily left nothing (you told me not to!) Thanks for the cache!
Found in the company of SG-3 while also on a fishing expedition for clues to another cache. Nice final location, which is great for catching good views. This is a generous cache, but my interest in views more than fish meant that I took in plenty of the former, but did not feel the lure of the cache contents for the latter! TFBMH (Thanks for Bringing Me Here)
Wouldn't you know it? Just as I worked out where the cache was, it started raining!
Waited for a while and the shower slowed. Dashed to GZ, had a quick hunt around and found the cache.
Took Stan the Southern Swaggie and geocoin, LN in a hurry cuz it started raining again.
Thanks red tag.

I had been over to the Eastern Shore to capture some faeries, so decided I may as well 'quickly' grab this one on the way to Hill Street to forage for ingredients for dinner. And off I went. I loved the final location, especailly as this took me to a part of a path I've been on many times - just not this section! What fantistic views - I can't believe I visited here with a dead camera battery!
Thank you for the cache!

Yippee! A FTF for freddymjt! Thanks for the cache red tag. Easy find once I'd helped Dad work out the coordinates. I tricked him at WP1 when I found lots and lots of numbers. I'm looking forward to going fishing. Good rig, I hope it works well.
I'd like to think that Sog n Paulus deliberating backed off to give the little fish a chance, or maybe this was just one that got away... either way, freddymjt has been pestering me to go fishing for ages so it was only fitting that he was the first to find the cache container (despite my best efforts to get there first!).
Thanks for the very nicely themed cache Red Tag and extra big thanks for the rigs. As the FTFers, I thought it would be reasonable for freddymjt and gee-oh to choose a rig each. I hope that's okay.
Felt a bit uncomfortable about not leaving anything in exchange, so was glad that I could at least leave a geocoin behind.

Fishy fishy fishy! Lots and lots and lots of fishes! Thanks for the fishy fishy fishy cache.
