Maybe it's time to can this one - I'm told it was hidden in a spot where it is very vulnerable to dissappearing.
Just inside a cordoned off area, with $5 admittance. I'd have happily paid the entry to get the cache, but there was some rather a lot of nice sculpture inside - I peeked over the fence. I would have got lost in exploring them. Today however is a caching day, so alas I must come back here some other time.
Temporarily disabling due to visiting sculptures meaning that the area is now cordoned off
Time to disable!

Could not locate, possibly saw the 'stick' that was mentioned in other comments, I was not about to get in the water with my motorcycle gear on.
Too many muggles kept appearing from the car park to be able to get a good look, think we saw it but couldn't check it out properly.
did the troll thing but a day visit was fast but no turn up so i missed it or if further in or gone
We got wet alright, but no cache, I noticed it has been muggled b4 is it possible it has been again?
Ah! So it WAS another cacher we saw... Haha We were circling around each other trying not to look suspicious... And I was failing miserably!
Found the cache quickly but accidentally pushed it further in, an act of total stupidity which required me to get filthy trying to regain possesion of it. Great to get it off my list after an earlier DNF. TFTC
#29 found with Nano Girl while attending the Junior Rock n Roll nationals. Had to act like a troll and got rather dirty too...
Found first look and slipped into the water! Had some trouble returning the cache as there were muggles lurking everywhere... the stick was a nice touch. Nice to sign a clean log. TFTC

Cache is reborn after being out of action for "a few weeks".
Same spot as before, don't lose it again.

Any news on this one, needs to be replaced (hmm is that a good idea because then I might feel obliged to put on old clothes and hunt around for it lol) or archived please.
Seems this needs checking on. Some time ago I did see something in the water and wondered if it might be the cache, but was unsure as I had no idea what the cache looked like and was not dressed in a suitable manner to look for it where it probably belongs.
Took several trips to this cache but did not find. Fairly confident of its location however it does not seem to be there.
#1856. I spotted the cache, and one of the nieces did the getting (without getting wet or dirty). TFTC.
Ah finally! Found on 3rd attempt. Had a little sit down in the sun and spotted it! A few muggles around, but no-one pays any attention to a small child crawling around on the bank! TFTC!
Found during a Labour weekend of hard out caching.
Cache found in order, log signed, and rehidden safely, as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too

Quick find in a lovely setting.. I have fond memories of that fountain! TFTC!
Took a little bit to get this one as it was just out of reach!! But after getting some grubby jeans and hands, and a little help from a stick it was in our grasp!! TFTC

Third time lucky, noticed cache from a distance, signed log sheet, cache hidden out of plain sight now. TFTC
Doing some training at The New Dowse, so dashed out into the wicked wind at lunchtime. Very careful not to get too messed up! T4TC - M@
Came to have a shot at this, but decided to pass as the ground was damp and we weren't equipped to get wet or very dirty. Hope to try again sometime.
Send the small members from Grandma A Team on the retrieval mission. Covered in mud and smiling they informed me they are as brave as Billy Goats

I paid a night time visit to this one to wipe it off my dnf list. The torchlight made it easier to spot the cache, although some gymnastics required to retrieve it. Strangely, the last name on the log sheet was nofs, so this must be the original container I found! I can only presume there are now two containers there at the moment.

Certainly a difficult reach, in fact impossible with out a trained ferret or stick. Managed to hook it out with a long stick but hopefully left it easier for the next person. Nice little park, now open again to the public. TFTC
Yes, as mentioned below, the Shapeshifter exhibition is there. Since it was here last year also, it may be an annual thing.
This year it seems to be there until 21 March.
See http://www.shapeshifter.org.nz/gettinghere.html to see where it is when you are looking for the cache.

Found the area completely sealed off, due to some art exhibition. Was doing an evening cache so it was closed, entry during the day $5. I would imagine the chances of being muggled would be too high till exhibition is over.
Glad I had Kiwi Mico with me. Found and could see the cache no problem but getting to it was a little harder. In the end there was no option but to get down and dirty. . (There are toilets nearby that you can wash off)

GPS spot on and knew where this cache would be without using clue. A quick look and cache sighted but could not reach it. Had no option but to get down, stretch and get dirty. .

Cache was missing, cache now replaced.
Now contains one logsheet, one pencil and a crib note.

At 9:15am there was a CONSTANT stream of muggles. We had to ignore them in the end. Nothing to be found. Only just noticed now that this has been generating sad faces for a while now.
As for gonefishing. A thorough check both sides and around revealed nothing except the litter.
We gave GZ a very thorough going over, but no cache to be seen. Looked on both sides of the water, found a few items of litter, but nothing else. Wondering if it is still there, or just out of reach or our mere mortal eyes and arms?
Found as part of my three week caching trip from Wellington to Auckland - # 159. Clear hide where it should be. Thanks.
found it... the log has been watered down... if that makes sense, i think its time for a new one
Quick find. Good hiding place. My brother found this one and was quite pleased since it was his second find for the day...even though he got a muddy arm haha. The piece of paper is a bit damp i noticed so it might need looking at because it looked like a bit of what someone had written was coming off. TFTC
Found with tmann421 and Hugo the dog. Weather started out ok, but turned quite lousy by the time we got here. SL,TFTC.
Had to use a long stick to get to this one. Ended up quite muddy and wet, although that was mentioned in the listing. SL TFTC
The park area around here is undergoing some renovations with workmen and roped off areas, so it might make finding this a bit trickier for a while.
easy ...odd muggle look....may have been the other searchers aerial backside that attracted the strange looks!!!
I had punched the wrong co-ords into my GPS so we were initially out by about 8 metres. Thank goodness for the clue!
I retrieved the cache and let Ms 6 year old put it back, only to watch it roll away (as warned in the cache description). Required some skillful crawling around by me in the damp and with a long stick to get it back. All placed nicely again though.
We loved this area so thanks for bringing us here - it was a great spot to kill some time while the missus got her aff cut!

A sporting event was finishing at this location very soon so needed to quickly grab the cache & be on my way. No time to enjoy the area so will return at a later date. TFTC
This was a second attempt for me. A council worker was around the first time, so such problems today.
A quick find this evening on the way back home to Wellington. Surprisingly few people about so was able to retrieve and replace easily - didn't even get dirty or wet! Signed log, TFTC.
Great place to hide although last person to hide had much longer arms than us! TFTC
Dropped by after doing GC1J5N2 and located fairly quickly but did get a bit dirty during extraction Nice quiet spot to watch the world go by... TNLN, SL TFTC!
Easy find this time. Had some trouble retrieving the cache though. Had to resort to some local flora to help. Thanks for getting the cache up and running again.
Didn't have the latest information so did not know that it was unavailable. Hopefully it will be back soon and I can have another go.
The cache doesn't seem to be there; probably it fell in the water. Will replace soon, but in the meantime...
Sorry about the delay, I was away when it got lost.

Ditto. I have visited twice and can't find it. Only thing I haven't done is ventured into the water for a closer look under. Is it still there? If so I will give it another go.
Couldn't find it! Sad. Is it still there? We tried twice. Looked on, under and around.
Found it quickly, but took a while to put it back..All of a sudden there were people everywhere.. Waited for a while till the coast was clear and then hid it again... T4TC
Not as quiet as I thought it might be and was a bit concerned about the office windows. So needed to use a bit of stealth but made a quick find without the need to get wet.

Memo to one self, must be more careful around water. Almost slipped in. Quick find after a flawless recovery.

A quick duck down to grab, signed and then almost walked off with it as I was distracted by my daughter! I see what you mean about the iffy GPS reception, mine varied from being within 2 metres to being 10m out!
Found this morning. Nice hide. Left a new strip of paper as one in cache pretty full. TFTC
