had a good look here but think this may have gone so this may be needed to be checked.
We had a really good look around GZ no enemies around and the cache proved missing as well. Really interesting location. It took us a little while to figure out what our GPS was telling us
We think we know where to escape from but due to muggles working on the building site we will return another time.
had a great time geting to escape but could not sign out. Have to wait for next escape plan hatched by hogen

Pretty sure I found the right hiding spot for this one. My eyes had a good look, and my fingers had good explore, but no cache revealed itself. Never mind, this was one of the most fun DNFs I've had!
Have a feeling it may be gone as there only seems to be one place where this could be hidden. Unless the cache has been pushed back out of sight or reach?
dnf - - however I know where it is - - muggles with orange netting prevented detailed searching
Tricky hide in interesting location. Well done on this cache placement!! Tftc. SL rather wet though but it is winter.
TFTC - What a great cache to do ! Has to be my favourite.
We escaped easily with our lives intact ! Although there were a few enermies lurking around & had to be avoided at all costs ! Getting out was tricker than getting in. But what a great escape my partner in crime & I had !! Log signed on way out - a little wet but we are out !!!!

Escaped early for a days caching around Ashburton. I'm close to meeting the requirements for the bulk finding elective of the DGSc and needed to go somewhere with lots of unfound caches to get me over the line. Not having found any caches at all in or around Ashburton it was the perfect place to explore for the day. Attempted to find this cache without success. A fun spot for a cache though. Based on recent logs I should have tried again later in the day!

As a previous escape I have returned to help other prisoners of war escape too. Please add you name to the new logbook so we know who has escaped.
Great spot for a cache but didn't have any luck finding it. Shoes got rather muddy!
This was certainly a different location. Had me confused for a minute or too as I followed the GPS, then Beenandgone had a break through. Nice cache.

After an earlier DNF, there is nothing like an escape before breakfast. Love these adventure type caches, this one was no worries in jandals. TFTC

Not dressed appropriately unfortunately. Loved the story but had to give this one a miss
We did it we followed the trail and ran for the hills only a few soldiers out And about. Good thing I had my trusty bandana the mud smell was horrific. Ill be glad to have a shower if I ever get back home!
Kommandant ve have a breach!!! (sirens in the background, hounds have been released).
With all the rain today the escape route has an added obstacle, but we must get back to the allies. Unfortunately and important piece of kit was not functioning today and two passes on the route proved fruitless to find the last key to escape. HQ was radioed for assistance and subsequently the last key to aid the escape was secured and code entered into log.
Wonderfully themed cache, loved this show!!!

glad i had the gumboots, found it after a few laps back and forth. some thing different. gets a fav.tftc.
BRRRRR too cold, got my feet wet but couldn't manage it for long enough to have a proper look, next time.
Went on a hunt for the day and got recommended this one. a Well deserved favorite here was great and the story was awesome. I went for the escape as a family and went out in twos. I watched high why my eldest went low. (much to her disgust lol). She was stoked to make the find her her efforts. Thanks for a great experiance
Thankyou

omg soooo cool and cold... haha had a lot of fun down there <3 haha have to wear non likeable chothing so i found out hahaha
Logbook is wet, so used the small piece of paper. But this is starting to become wet as well. Sorry, did not have a small snaplock bag with us.
Could not find it over a year ago, but this time we were better prepared. Still, it took longer than necessary. But finally knocked of the list. Great fun and TFTC
How some people think of things, so well done was going to play ladies on our way to the Melbourne Cup but resorted to taking off shoes and rolling up trousers not so dignified. But was so rapt to eventually find. A favourite from us ( other half stayed where it was nice and dry, a gentleman or just wont get down and wet??)
New grandson born today, in Ashburton Hospital. Couldn't resist stopping for a quick celebratory cache on the way home. This was my second attempt at this one, and don't know why I missed it last time. Cache and log is wet, but I didn't have anything with me to fix it with, sorry. Added a strip of paper that I signed. TFTC.
Took me two attempts, but I finally uncovered this one. For sure this is one of the coolest caches I've found to date. Log is still wet as others have mentioned. Thanks a lot for placing this!

TFTC. I came prepared to make good my escape. Once I got over what may have been an obvious location the next location seemed even better. Cache container is fine, but log is damp. Excitment was added by the clear voices of a couple of junior muggles very near by so we completed the escape at top speed. Thankfully escape mission was completed sucessfully.
Justanurse found this. I had been here before and she found it so fast. Grrrr
Great cache loved it. Took us a few minutes to escape but intel was spot on. Thanks.
It was a day to spend in Ashburton picking up a few caches.
It was time to walk like a duck, who escaped, to get this one.
Cheers for the cache.

I was better equipped this time - found an accomplice in Tufty and volunteered him to test out our escape plan. Fun cache.
Got it at the 2nd attempt.
The English are here and this escape was only about 300m from where we are house swapping.
TFT fun.

TFT fun.
At last and a really good hide. The contents were damp, but usable. Neighbours are quite chatty and know that something is there. Thanks
Experience does make a difference. Had a look here when we first started geocaching and had no joy. Nice hide!
25/07/11 1:31 PM Find #393 This one goes on my favourites list! Almost gave up then .... TFTC.
My last find of the day. The sweeping search lights helped the nocturnal hunt. Startled a female guard surfacing to freedom!
I have escaped Col. Hogan!
I had to delay for a day as I'd left my flashlight back in the barracks. I am heading west over the Alps.

We thought this one was awesome. We did find a log in the cache, but the cache wasn't a film cannister. TFTC
What a cool place. Looked for a while and nearly gave up but then found it. GPS right on the spot. Excellent place.
Tried for this a couple of years ago and DNFed and haven't had a chance to try again since. However, stayed overnight in Ashburton and turned GPS on to discover that the cache was just 525 metres from where I was staying. So off on a walk and a quick find this time.
Awesome cache, really enjoyed it. I liked the theme a lot, got the brain ticking over.
5513 Great spot to escape from the Canterbury heat while caching, nice hide, we were the second visitors today, TFTC.
This is a good one and just to good for me today. Some other day when passing by I will have another look
Tricky, a nice hide, been here before and flagged it, took one look and didn't have my wetsuit so we thought we would come again, so today was the day. Thanks for the cache. Ran into the locals who immediately knew why we were there, they keep an eye on it, although they know its there they have never found it, they also count how many time we visit, the most was 5 times before the group found it.
Have to admit, this was a second try for us.It kept coming up in conversations, thru out the year.So we were pleased to be back in Ash Vegas to have another go.!!!!Got the little Rascal, this time.Had us hunting all the same.Log Book wet,so dried it out on the Dashboard, and added two Silica's.Escaped without being seen.A very clever Hidey Place.TFTC.
on our way to christchurch we stopped for a few caches this was one of them
thankx for this one

Had a good scurry around in the tunnel, but without luck. Just had a read of the logs now, and might have another go tomorrow with a bigger torch. Only here for a couple of days, so want to find it!!
Managed to check and secure the integrity of the escape tunnel mid afternoon for future escapes. Needed to stay in the camp so as not to arouse suspicion from the local camp guards. Due to poor intel' from fellow GC Stalag 13 prisoners, I couldn't log a successful escape this time.
I gave this a pretty good go, considering I was not prepared for this one at all.. I will add to watch list.. And will be back prepared next time for a extra good look..

A very satisfying find, took a bit of a hunt, but it had to be there somewhere.

This is a great story and place for a cache, took a few atemps, but my girl friend from the States "CA_kiwis" found it for us.... hahahaha..... Thanks for the hunt!
This was a fun one! II am here visiting from California and have been hearing for months about this cache in a tunnel that my Kiwis couldn't find. They thought for sure it was gone. When they saw the post that it was still there, they took me to see if we could find it. They were so sure I wouldn't be able to and I had no problem whatsoever! Hehe! Great hide! Love to be able to prove that the CA part of CA_Kiwis "rocks the most"!
It's there all right - fortunately had a torch and the inkling gained from a similar hide in Oamaru, although signing the log was a bit hard as the pen refused to write properly. Logged an N!m
As suspected, still there. Note that this cache is NOT 1 star, so dont expect a drive by
oh my gosh it is still there.we thought we searched every single inch.ca_kiwis found this one....great cache.everybody needs to search harder.
Got back to log the DNF and noticed a few others. Had a really good look inside and out. Perhaps it need to be archived until checked?
think this has been muggled and its a great spot for a cache.would be nice if it was replaced.
Ah ha, now it all makes sense. Stopped by here and didn't find it, but didn't have the cache page info either!
First time out for a number of weeks. Oldest & I out for an early morning bike ride and called in to find. Searched for ages but no luck. Obviously out of practice. Thank anyway.
Didn't bring suitable shoes for an adventure and not a good one for my pregnant friend. My try again another day.
Great cache. I loved that programme and the tour guide on my recent trip to Germany reminded me so much of Sgt Schultz - in looks and with the way he spoke. TFTC #1014
We were sitting in the car enjoying and icecream not far away and mrs d brought up the site on the GPS so off for a look. The coast was clear and the possibility of a Xmas pressie was enough enducement to take a look. So down under we go... great the route was dry this time so with much cunning and skill we sneaked in and found the treasure.. We took the small present for mrs d. TFTC .
Back up and running, and I have left a wee Xmas present for the ftf after now.
This was the highlight of our mega caching day, as we arrived a gentleman muggle wished us luck as he had seen many people try to find this cache before, with that said the challenge was set.
We had the right idea instantly and started making our escape, fortunately the route was dry, I spent a little time behind bars looking for this once and then gave up and made a final sweep of the escape route and found it, oh so sweet.
The log book was to wet to even look at so a log wasn't made. I see by the time I have logged this the cache has been made unavailable.
Fantastic cache and I hope it gets the chance to free a few more cachers before the war is over.
Cheers.
