Greetings from Geocaching.com
I have been looking at caches in the area that have been temporarily disabled for a while now and it looks like your cache has been under the weather for some time. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don’t think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache. If you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.
When repairs to this cache are completed and it is time to have it reposted, it will be no problem. Just drop me a note and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. You will still be able to access your cache page just as before by going to your My Cache Page and clicking the link of your cache.
I will be more than happy to take a look at your cache again to see if it is still is within the guidelines of the Geocaching.com website for cache placement and posting.
I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.
Thanks,

Well, that explains why we couldn't find it - because it's not there. Oh well, the relics were cool..

I’ve been here before, but at that time completely oblivious to the cache nearby – interesting spot. Not many (in fact zero) people here at around 9pm on a Thursday night, which made things easier. (Except that it was dark). But my trusty torch came in handy, and after about 10 minutes searching, I had it bagged. Not that I could believe my eyes – amazing. The log book and some contents are not in the best of shape, but I entered my entry, took a boot keyring, and left an alan key. Thanks for the fun Team Chaos, ThomasS.
With the guidance and very little help from a local Geocacher who has been known to travel the Australian countryside in a very small helicopter and who has a laugh and behavior very similar to that of Roger Rabbit, we did find this cache
We had a great day with some great folks walking, drinking and eating around this beautiful city.
Thanks for the cache,

The area has just been cleaned up, grass all neat and trimmed but the cache remains..how I don't know!!! Should have found it first time but this time I read west for east and there it was!!
No swaps as I had to get back to my car as the signs said vehicles in this area are broken into, don't leave valuables therein and there was lotsa broken window glass along the gutter...no wonder I live in the bush.

...but it was dark, raining and water everywhere. Still the sights of Sydney under lights makes up for it. Shall return someday, must be very near my spot....?
Was in Sydney for a holiday from the US and just couldn't resist some geocaching in Australia. It turned out that the cache was just across the street from the hotel I was staying in, so it was a nice surprise. Took a bit for the GPS to settle down, but finally found the cache. Signed the logsheet and took a Euro coin and left a $1 US coin. Thanks for the cache and good time in Sydney!
North Rancher and Ranch Wife (from Colorado) found this one after a little searching - seems the grass is growing a bit and makes the search more challenging. This was our first cache in Sydney! It's in OK shape - the lid was off and a meter away. We took a $1 Malaysian bill and left our famous drink attachment - the cocktail girl!

Found this on a cold Sydney day along with North Rancher and Ranch Wife. We visited the site the previous day and had no idea a cache was nearby until we went into an internet cafe later in the day. It was also our first cache in Australia. TNLN.

Its about time we found this little sucker. We have visited this area a couple of times with parking being our main headache. This was alsmost more than one today as the parking cops were 2 cars away when we got back to our car. Phew! The place was as soggy as could be and the birds(Ibis) were loving it. We searched and searched, lifting almost every blade of grass and making mud puddles at the same time. The mud does wonders for the manicure. We almost gave up again and made a phone call and guess what the cacher we called hadn't done it so no help. By this time the 2 dogs heads were hanging very low and we were almost ready to call it quits when Snifter looked in the right area and lo and behold the cache sprang forth.
This had got to be the longest search for a cache that we have undertaken.

After having mixed results at this location (wrong spot, construction work etc) we finally returned to find the cache within 2 minutes of our arrival. No-one around so it was an easy find & rehide. Nothing exchanged.
Thanks Chaos.
Found it easily enough, no one was around so it was easy to retrieve and put back. Good thing because it's not a good time to be seen hiding suspicious looking containers aronud Sydney.
Left a 50 eurocent piece, took nothing.

Nice location, not too hard to find. I'm surprised nobody stumbled over it by accident. The log is a little damp and quite full.
Out: Nothing
In: Refeshment towel (Wienerwald), new log-page
Wow, another awesome parky location in Sydney.. I could have spent hours here, it was
so peaceful yet really vibrant. When I got there there lots of these white birds that
made squeaky noises and had long black beaks that kinda looked like short flamingos.
What are they?? A curious kiwi wants to know. Took photos of them for another
virtual cache looking for wild animals
Cache pretty easy to find, stumbled across it in about 20 seconds. Not precisely a hidey
hole! The cache was probably one of the smallest I've found, everything was really
jammed in there tight! The cache really could use a new notebook, the piece of paper
in there is getting full and tatty too.
In: Coffee and aspirin for that painkiller and caffeine fix
Out: A keyring (there were too many in there!)
Took ages to rehide the cache because of some other tourists that decided that the white
birds, the relics, and me, were worth spending 15 minutes taking photos of.

Did not find this one. It was a nice location, very interesting, but the cache must of been well hidden. Thanks for showing us some of Sydney, Team Chaos!
Found today at 1pm quite easily- although we were expecting a bit of a swim. This is our 6th Aussie geocache and was completed with the help of James and Julia!!
Took nothing and left a Met Police keyring.

Found the cache about mid-day. What an interesting place. Thanks for guiding us there. We took the cache away about 50 meters or so to log in, but had nothing to leave and took nothing. Just as we were about to replace it, a young man came along and settle down to eat lunch no more than three meters from the hiding place. We waited about half an hour for him to leave and replaced the cache.

Second cache of the day, and for Australia! Had some other friends along for this one - their first cache! Cool place... though based on the notes I was expecting something a little darker or more menacing. At least there is some preservation of the memories here.
Thought the cache was litter at first.. might do well to label the container or this one might wind up in a trash basket... excuse me.. rubbish container (working on my Aussie!! )
Thanks for the cache and a beautiful spot I would not have found otherwise!

I was unable to find this on my first visit nearly one year ago, but I had no difficulty this time around. Took a 20 cent AUS coin and left an assortment of US coins.

Found this one with out too much trouble. Tourists constantly wondering about made looking for the cache a little difficult let alone trying to put it back.

After having found Ideology's i!4 Metro cache up the road just half an hour earlier, I was fairly happy and confident about this one. Spent a few minutes wandering around GZ and searching high and low, before stopping to read the clues and hints again. Turns out I'd walked right past it about two or three times. Had nothing small enough to swap, so just left my name in the log book. (The first side of the log sheet is almost full)
Thanks Team Chaos for another top urban cache! Love your work!
Hecta & I found this one today without too much trouble. The main difficulty was waiting for the tour group to leave so we could re-hide it.
The only thing I had to leave was a voucher for Hunter Hair Workshop. We took the Canadian 10c coin.

Nailed it! Whilst waiting for the coast to clear at Get Smart, Leek graciously chauffered Dribbles and myself back to GZ for another look with a teensy little clue that it may kinda sorta break one of the rules of cache placement. With that knowledge, and extra light, we found it in 30 seconds and almost had it logged before Leek had time to park.
Thanks Team Chaos, and Leek for the lift.

Went for a quick late night mission with KitPie and Dribbles. This is one spot that doesn't make you look so suspicious as there's plenty to see. Another couple came past and struck up a conversation ...
She: It looks like an exhibition of ...
Me: Of relics?
She: Exactly!
We looked and scraped and poked around for a while but couldn't find a trace. Perhaps the NYE crowds, clean up aftermath or a lawnmower swallowed it up?
Had a close call with an insane taxi driver, and another run-in with the law on the way home. I hadn't studied for the random breath test, but I passed.

As noted in previous logs this site seems to be in a state of flux, and is fenced off. Biggles Bear chose not to jump the fence as a night in the local lock up would just have ruined an other wise pleasant evening.
Got to the construction site, all the fences had been closed off and we couldn't enter. Was a nice view from there, which made it worth it.

Know this spot. Quite a collection... Found this one at night - a good time for the undercover effect. Did get some funny looks from a builder type who was doing something in the area. Otherwise, no-one around. Cache a bit grubby, and plainly visible - although most would dismiss it as a bit of rubbish. Took US$1 and left glow-in-the-dark spider. Covered up cache a bit better.

Parked up the street and walked down to this one. As I got close things looked bad: the place looked like a construction zone with fencing and huts having been put up. As I rounded the fence I saw that the relics themselves were still accessable, but there does seem to have been a lot of ground work done with areas dug up and roped off.
GPSr refused to settle down. Just as it looked like it was zeroing in on GZ, it'd suddenly jump 100+ metres away so I ended up chasing my tail around in circles for a while. After dropping my camera for the second time this weekend onto something camera-hostile (ie. concrete), I figured the GPS Gods weren't smiling on me so I abandoned my search for this one.

Biohzrd and I found the cache easily-- besides being a bit muddy and hard to get stuff in and out of, it is in good shape.
Really great spot that I would never have noticed. We had to be sneaky about our investigations which was fun-- only ibis and small children saw us at the site (and neither can talk...)
We brought a travel bug from Hawaii, but she was too big to fit-- so we continued our urban caching from the site.
Took a key ring compass and left US dollar-- nothing else would fit!

Came with honu... thanks for the cool cache. I'm here on work from the states and never would have found this funky site without the cache.
Oky's mates recently returned from their outback holiday and came into the big smoke today for a little shopping. This gave us the opportunity to revisit the first cache we ever searched for.
We tried to find this cache at 2 am Jan 1 2002 after watching the New Years Eve fireworks on the harbour. Full of enthusiasm we located the site but barricades prevented our entry. We returned (via the previously closed off entrance) at 7 am after a couple of hours sleep on our boat and searched the location for about 1 hour to no avail. We left disappointed but vowed to return.
Since then we have kept our eye on this cache - the comings and goings. Once it was updated we knew it was still there, we just had to find the time to go look. Today was the day. Back to the relics and back to searching around between looking nonchalant whilst other sightseers, wedding parties, cameramen and music makers wandered by. One group may even have been geocachers - they certainly looked suspicious. I disappeared for half an hour in case they were cachers and when I came back I had the site just about to myself. I was just about to give up when I found the cache . The contents were dry and I took the little santa and left a thermometre keyring.

Found it fairly quickly after my GPS settled down. There was a little bit of mud in the bottle and the log sheet was too damp to write on without tearing it... The pen in the cache barely worked and the one I'd brought with me didn't work at all, but I managed to sign my name (just)...
Nothing I had brought with me would fit through the neck of the bottle so I left 10c and took a rubber beetle.
Nice kid friendly location...
A word of warning: watch out for the hidden trap door at the top of the hill... While I was restashing the cache a maintenance worker emerged from the ground and started to clear up the area... I wasn't expecting anyone to come from that direction, but I don't think he saw anything...

Great evening for a cache in sydney. Came all the way from canada for this one. It was my first in Australia. Took a while for the gps to settle in the area but i found it no prob. The cache was damp when i found it and the pen was dying, i wish i had one to leave but i forgot mine. Anyways thanks for the nice cache in sydney. Took a pin left some canadian coins.

Returned again (with Scubadoo67) after a small hint from Team Chaos. It was well and truly buried and took a bit of digging to extracate. Took and left nothing. The log is a bit damp. Reburied but not so deep, covered with a pile of twigs. Park officers came around just as we were puting it back but they suspected nothing.
Found this one with the help of Alternate Route,
My GPS was giving me signals way over the other side of the relics, once found and logged placed back not so deep for the next geocachers.

Searched all of the relics one by one. Found evidence of recent digging but no cache. (It's not down that long pipe near the fence is it?)
With the car in a one hour spot and the bombers on patrol we had to abandon the search early.
What a great cache site.....lots of interesting things......the waterproof cache was full of water and everything was wet. one of 5 for the day....great spot....took nothing left nothing
I found the relics and read the plaque explaining the site, but I was unable to find the cache. I noticed that someone had recently trimmed all the grass around the relics, and I found a hole in the ground that I supposed may have contained the cache. When further searching proved fruitless, I gave it up as missing. I'm now glad to see embi was able to find it the next day. I'll try it again when I return next year.

Yay!
Finally CC has waterproofed Relics. I have changed cache containers, the new cache being a nalgene bottle. Please be aware that the bottle opening is quite small (a bit smaller than a 20c piece) ...so only small items please! Some items in the original cache would not fit, or were destroyed by waterlogging, the survivors will go to other caches! Please note the cache is quite concealed, and may need to be dug out.

Came in from Crows Nest across the big bridge and went straight to what we thought was the hidey hole, but there were too many schoolies around. Hole looked scary too: given the recent rains we didn't want to stick our paws down there in case of Atrax Robustus [xx(]... Came back the next evening and fished out the stash with an umbrella, only to find a plastic cup fulla mud... Is this one dead or have we lost our touch??? [?]
Did some maintainence on the cache. It is still vulnerable, however I've fixed up the remains of the logbook and dried everything out on a hot Summer's day ! - It would be a good idea to leave small waterproof items in case of another flooding! Metallic items will rust[xx(]! So, if you go, it would be nice to swap out what's left of the metal and non waterproof items!

Had a spare half an hour on a recent trip to Sydney. Had a good look at all the hidey-holes we could find, but no luck within the time limit.
More Sydney backpacking fun. This cache was totally drenched (and very foul smelling) when we found it. That container is definetely not the most watertight thing around... The log book was inmpossible to either read or write in, so we gently slipped the box back into its muddy resting place and proceeded to scare the local tourists with our muddy hands.
Found it this time! Cache is in a bad way, and will probably need a complete refurbishment (log book is beyond repair).
Nice spot, but does require the cache to have IPx7 rating (which current one doesn't seem to have)
Took nothing, but left a token of the season.
Gratitude to Team Chaos

Thankfully we left for this cache after Team Chaos had done a spot of cache maintenance
Couldn't log the visit due to the much noted sogginess but felt chuffed that we'd found the 'missing' cache
It may be a tad soggy, but its still a great way to spend a lunch break! ^

The Relics didn't go!
Looks like a bit of earth has made it a bit hard to find! Only problem - the contents are majorly soggy! I haven't got time at the moment to dry stuff out, so if you have, go for it!!!

Searched for some time and was about to leave as the light was fading when Nicky spotted a likely niche. Good location.
Unfortunately the box was very wet inside and the log book may be unrecoverable. We dried everything as best we could and put it back in a new (dry) sealed bag.
We took an Australia pin and left a London pin.
We are on holiday from England and really enjoying the city.

Not quite sure why the exact co-ordinates aren't used?
Shared the area with some weirdo film/acting students rehersing something. Their knife looked very reailistic! *shudder*
After this weeks swamping, went to check on the dampness stakes. No problems, everything nice and dry. Forgot to add a pencil, so don't forget one yourself! Sorry, Geomonkeys, couldn't resist borrowing the tape measure for cave surveying on the weekend.Added some cache cash.CC
No pen to write with, nothing to trade...I guess I wasn't expecting to find it in 20 minutes or so. Maybe I'll revisit with appropriate comment or item later. Nice little spot, Team Chaos. Take your lunch and relax.

We were not the first ones, but we found it. We had to play tourist for over an hour while the crowds cleared.Even then it was an effort to extract the not so micro-cache anyway. Made the customary exchange of goodies, and signed the not as new as we thought log book. Chalk up another one for the GeoMonkeys (37). and congrats to Team Chaos on finding such an exelent micro-cache site.this could have be included in our Ancient civilisation series, if we'd known it exsisted. once again, Well done Team chaos.

Urban and urbane, the crafty Captain's cache features a wonderful setting, accurate coordinates and clever cache placement. We swapped the soviet keyring for an exclusive piece of IdeoGear.
