Out with wombles and co at the 2017 cacheup with the newbies event for a weekend of fun camping and of course caching Now well and truly on our way home and had a selection of caches to get on the way home. Couldnt find it at all even with a previous finder helping us. Can C.O. please check this one.
Found Wally easily enough. The logbook could do with replacing though :/ and possibly waterproofing. Cheers
Didn't take us too long to find Wally today, it's a cute little cache! Log paper is quite damp and there isn't much room left, just about managed to squeeze our names on. TFTC.
Doing some scouting around Emu Mountain for work and there was time enough for s quick find! Tftc.
What a great day to be on the coast and we just had to find some geocaches. This is our 1st for today.
Great little walk and found without too much trouble.

Lovely day for a walk! The kids enjoyed climbing a mountain and loved finding this treasure!
Find #448
Taking a break from some study I thought i'd head up and grab some caches. So previously living in Coolum, I quite like Emu Mountain and this walk. Heading off, I jumped over numerous muddy puddles and headed along the path quite enjoying the walk. Maybe a little too much cos I went completely in the wrong direction. **oooops**
Lucky for me, they have recently burnt off in the area so it wasn't to difficult to get to where I was meant to be. It was a bit eerie with the burnt trees and burnt grass.. but like before I enjoyed the walk and the view.
Thanks for the cache d.d.dudes..
**I unfortunately didn't have any log sheets on me and this one may need replacing soon-- it was kind of crumbling in my hand.

We found this one well over a year ago, in our less experienced days. As such, I must have messed up logging it from my phone. Sorted now! Tftc D. D. Dudes
We parked motor vehicle at the High School and walked to GZ.
Found the required rock in a fairly short time, signed log and replaced.
Log made need replacing soon.
On walk out paramedics were walking in with their equipment.
Someone may have had an incident on the track up to Emu Mountain.

After visiting the trig point we headed down the western slope to look for this particular rock. I thought it was going to be really difficult but thankfully the littlest NeverLostAu member made short work of the hunt! Nicely done d.d.dudes!
I enjoyed the walk up Mt Emu/Mt Peregian (depends on which map you view) despite hauling up a screaming almost-six year old who wasn't too keen on the idea of a bushwalk. Nice painting on the cache. TFTC.
Had a lot of fun looking for this cache, quite time consuming but we were lucky enough to find it quite quickly. Found with CanyoneroCrew! TFTC!
My wife did the "Where's Wally" jigsaw in a day so she had no trouble locating this one with me on a recent outing to the park and lookout )
Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
Spent the weekend with Gaz'n'Kab, Captain Terror, and Net88 up North, climbing mountains and camping.
Great cache, d.d.dudes!

We had just made our way up to the peak of Emu Mountain, and headed back down this one to grab this one along the way. A small detour and we soon began our search and in no time at all we had the cache in hand, and the logbook signed [^]

As far as quirky hides go - this is one of them!
Catscatscats22, Gaz'n'Kab and I had decided on a jaunt around Emu Mountain between visits to Mount Ninderry, Coolum Beach and setting the tent up at Bli Bli during our weekend on the Sunshine Coast. I was already impressed with the easy grade of getting to the summit and the galactically good view from up there. Then we descended somewhat down to this spot to find what would likely prove to be a hide we'd be glad to have 4 pairs of eyes looking for.
Gaz had the track marked, so we wasted no time navigating here. Upon arrival, the enormity of the task was apparent. Nothing else for it, start carefully looking. But, it was only a few seconds before I answered the questions; 'Where's Wally?'
Lovely and lucky! We added our names to the logbook. I love the effort that's gone into this hide. We replaced it as found, but a little more covered over than we'd found it. A nice finish to our day geocaching, now just back to the car and the campground. TFTC d.d.dudes

It was much easier getting to this cache than the nearby one up the hill. We knew what we were looking for as we had checked out the pictures. Once at GZ we basically stumbled upon the upturned cache and its cover. The log is bone dry despite the recent heavy rains. TFTC.
Cool as cache!
A favourite point for this one!
The log was falling apart a bit so I couldn't write on the log. Got a photo though

After reading some of the comments I thought we could have been here for awhile turning over rocks so I was very surprised when the second rocked I picked up had a little wally on it. Our pen wouldn't work so we got photo evidence!
I had this cache on my list for the day, however had not really read what I needed to do. So I got here and it was probably more the just finding out rather than anything else that got me started on the six step program mentioned.
1. I started off finding many rocks, they were everywhere...
2. Still not sure on the reason the incline isn't that great.
3. No throwing just a lot, and I mean a LOT of flipping rocks.
4. you sure do know.
5. Well before placing the rock back in position I also retrieved the log and signed my name.
6. Plenty of fun, now time to go and climb a mountain.

I was out this way though only had a few minutes to spare so I thought that I would give the Geocache ‘False Tomb’ a go. I had everything I required in order to do the find though a family of Muggles had set-up a picnic right at GZ therefore I could not go in for the find. I will be back soon though.
I thought to myself that I was not going to go home empty handed and that I would give this cache a go. So I ran down over the mountain and down to this cache. Whilst on the way I was ready the cache log. I started thinking, ‘there is no way I am going to have the time to get this cache done...’. But, I thought I would give it a quick go.
Today was my lucky day, I found the cache as soon as I picked up the first rock. The GC Gods where rewarding me with a find in this great area.
Thanks for the cache ‘d.d.dues’. The cache is in perfect order.

Down the slope from False Tomb and the summit, picked the most direct looking track which got narrower and narrower and more overgrown with grass. I had long pants so powered through but the kids gave up with their fragile bare legs and took another way. [P]
Found the wider track near the bottom and then the rocks. There are quite a few but one look in the right direction and I spotted Wally. Clever container. A bit of a struggle to get the log out but persistence paid off.
I had a call from J who was trying to catch up to warn me of a muggle walker coming upon me fast just as I was signing the log. Log in the pocket and a longer conversation on the phone to cover up.
Log a bit wet due to a very wet and ripped plastic bag. Took away the bag and the log has a chance of drying - cache .looks fairly waterproof.

Found after taking probably the worst track on offer after finding the suprise cache on top of the mountain. Not sure if Wally was how he was meant to be, log was outside of the cache. Replaced it and put Wally's rock back the way we found it.
Our favourite so far! Such a fun walk for the kids and thoroughly enjoyed searching for the cache. Very clever.
Fluked it on the first rock! Nearly got collected by a motocross motorbike ripping through the national park, engine revving and smoke belching. Oh the serenity.
After walking up to the trig station via the tomb stone we decided to give this one a go. Typical that we started out in jandels and soon started to regret that, an amateur mistake! Eventually got to wally's spot, very cool cache, gets a favourite from us. TFTC
Very very nice, I like this one. It gave me a smile on my morning walk.
Thanks dddudes for the cool challenge

Caching trip out with the ladies... I'm in! Nyssaflutterby, Membsec and I headed up to the sunny coast on a mission to collect some caches.
Needed to get a W for a certain challenge and it was good that we were going to be in the area anyways, so I could add that letter to my alphabet.
It took a little bit of time to locate this cache and our GPS was bouncing about.
We looked in a few locations before the cache location became obvious. Very interesting cache container!

Nyssaflutterby, Angela and Dave and myself decided to have another go at collecting some caches up on the Sunshine Coast. We had some great plans, but we didn't quite achieve everything that we wanted to do but this cache was on our list.
After collecting a few other caches in the area this one was next. Angela needed a W for the alphabet challenge so why not this one. We had a pleasant walk to GZ but it took us a little while to find Wally, as it usually does. We were first looking on the wrong side of the path and we fell short of where he was hiding. Eventually Nyssa spotted an obvious place and she was correct. What a great cache, it made us all laugh. We all signed and replace the cache as found.
Thanks d.d.dudes for the cache and a favourite point from us. Great work!

This one had been on my hit list for quite awhile and today was going to be the day. [^]
I had a little time up my sleeve so I drove right up to the entrance to the walking track. Mr Garmin said I had a nice 360m walk to GZ, so off I went.
It was a pleasant walk once I neared GZ I found a few rocks . I was scanning my eyes over GZ and spotted a tell tale sign of a cache hide. After moving a few rocks Wally revealed himself and I very quickly had the cache in hand...........Nicely Constructed.
I signed the log and then replaced the cache as I found it, already for the next intrepid cacher.
The cache was found in good, dry condition.

We did this one after the false tomb. As we approached the site of all the rocks, the only thought in my mind was 'crap! We are going to be here forever.' Out of shear dumb luck we stumbled over something out of place, lifted a rock and BAM! there was Wally grinning at us. Very fun. Thank you for the great cache.
Found it Booyah! We were trying too hard to find this one at first.. GPS at first looked like it was pointing us to the top of the hill but found it wasn't there at all.. Battery died when we were 80 metres out and we were still able to find this pretty quickly just knowing we were looking for a rock with Wally on it.
Found this one on our vacation in Australia. Thanks for showing us this place and TFTC.
Following on from False Tomb I followed my GPS to GZ and after turning over rock after rock after rock a smiling Wally was soon in hand. TFTC SL
A few years back I conned my youngest daughter to climb this little hill as I mentioned there might be emus there.... I think she never trusted me as far as hill climbs went ever again. I have walked the paths through here before and it wasn't very long before I was at GZ and had the new updated Wally in hand. Looks like a new cache container, but definitely was a new log sheet, my second in two days...the next best thing to finding a FTF. While I was here, PapaSmurf12 rang me to tell me his geoparents were closeby, and to hide the cache quickly. A muggle runner snuck up on me, and I asked some questions whether the creek ran through the GZ . She replied that water ran under the rocks...cool bananas.
After finding this one and another close one, I ran back to the geoute to find papasmurf12 and geonomads. Great catching up and talking geocaching.
Thank you dd dudes for the cache. I don't hand out favourites that much anymore, but this gets one.

FAVOURITE CACHE EVER! Beautiful area, saw a flock of black cockatoos, brilliant cache. Great job
Favourite cache of the day! Went the most round about way of getting to the cache, hint: go right at the fork in the road, but loved the beautiful scenery, the smell from the recent back burning, the company of my new recruit TerynAround, a flock of beautiful black and yellow cockatoo's and a very clever, fun cache. Nice work on the container. TFTC
Found while out on a mission to maintain one of our own caches a bit further down the road. Nice little mountain (aka rock). Cache is in need of some maintenance. Aside from coming 'un-stuck', Wally may need a face-lift, and definitely a new log.
Enjoyed the walk, and the scenery.

Great hide, lovely walk. Wally was happy to see us as were we to see him. TFTC but no chance of signing the log as it's rolled up in a little wet ball.
Another good walk in the national park. We were looking for larger rocks than the ones covering wally's rock. Wally has broken clear of his rock and his container is cracked and the log was soggy and useless we replaced it with a small page from a note book.
The cache is need of some attention by the owner to return it to it's original state.

under time pressure wasn't good, left the false tomb, following the GPS cord but obviously not the correct way. Its great to see the kangaroo tail flowering spikes all popping up since the fires. Followed several slippery tracks and finally arrived at the spot. Took me about 10 mins but then there he was, I turned up the right one. TFTC the walk back was a breeze.
We found it! We came with our friends. We didn't really understand the " false tomb " clue. We love the painting! Thanks for the Geocache!
Nice easy find with Scratches and geokids, log is very wet

I have searched for rock caches before and they are not always my favourite type of cache, however this one was worth the time spent searching. Thanks d.d.dudes.
After doing the other GC cache in the area and the GCA at the top of the mountain we thought we would try for this one as well. Sat down for a spell before attempting to locate the cache and Wally's Rock almost jumped out at us. Container is cracked and the log is a little damp but still signable with care. Great cache in a wonderful location.TFTC!
tftc wally. moist inside bag but turned it inside out. thought it would be hard to find but wally was staring at us. lntnsl. 4travellingbuds.
Tftc, out with Leith of 4 travellingbuds. Thought this one was going to be quite hard, but the GPS was spot on and there it was just sitting there. Love the wally, log et but managed to sign anyway.tnlnsl
quite easy but a good cache! it started pouring as soon as we found it!!!!! TFTC!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Out with The Booyz and geo cuz. Big detour cross country from another close cache. This was fun with 4 of us looking. Look at this one realistically and this is a quicker find. Spent about 5-10 mins and wally appeared. Great arvo in Peregian topped off with this cache. Cheers
Tried finding this in 2011 with no luck, back today with a few more in tow and cache soon in hand. Great idea.
