**Secret of the Sundial**Im going to squish those evil faeries and elves next time I catch them! They had us running around for faaaar too long, scratching through leaves, scratching our heads, looking in the wrong spot, PAFing not once, not twice, but THREE times (sorry bout that, Steve!).Each time we found something (though we were never quite sure if we were at GZ or a waypoint. That was our fault), we happily went and stuffed it up again. Or maybe that was the elves doing?Anyway it gave us time to complete some other caches in the area, and to sit and have a delicious lunch near the golf course.Eventually ahomburg (with the longest arms) was able to uncover the elusive cache so that we could all claim a smiley. Thanks Bushfire for creating and to 6Hinemoa2 for maintaining this mystery multi hide. Wow, the elves and the fairies addled my brain! Everything was difficult the instructions, the hides, the locations LOL, it really took a lot out of me, but the joy of finally signing the log erased the memories of searching, searching, paffing, searching at the waypoints, wondering if we were even at the correct spot, oh, and then the search at GZ, I'm happy to say, conducted by Ahomburg. Thanks Bushfire and 6Hinemoa2, I'll bring the kids next time , elves and fairies aside it is a marvellous space!
Found 25 May 2024 at 2:42:56PMAfter the nearby CITO, I cached the day away with Let Them Eat Cache and Snips & CO, starting with the caches nearby then moving further afield to end the day.A complex mystery/multi but we were determined to finish it off, so with a couple of PAFs we got there in the end. Many thanks to 6Hinemoa2 for placing Secret of the Sundial for us all to find. *Found on the 27 Apr 2024 @ 12:23PM.**Cache find # 15575.*Well this one wasnt even on the radar for today but after completing Childrens Delight and noting the information required for WP1, we went back to the sundial to see what we could see that was wrong. After quickly discovering what was wrong, we then moved on to the next location, info was gathered quickly and off we went to the next and then on to GZ where a Quick Look was had but nothing was discovered. As we were meant to be at a nearby event, we decided to head over to it but once that was finished, a return was made. The search for the elusive cache continued few a while before Michael eventually found it in a spot that we both thought we had checked earlier on, obviously not well enough.**Thanks to Bushfire & 6Hinemoa2 for keeping the game going by placing this cache.**
Not one I like, it was extremely difficult to put back. Thanks for the cache 6Hinemoa2
On the 12th October 2007 I placed this guy, gee that is few years ago, time flies. This cache along with over a hundred and fifty others have been adopted out to other folk who I hope are happy to look after these guys as the ageing Bushfire has developed a health problem that will only get worse so a big thanks to all these great friends. Finally, I must thank my good friend 6Hinemoa2 for looking after this guy as it has got to the stage when I must pass it on and wish it good luck for the future. I know it is in good hands. Thanks for all the great logs that have been placed over many years. A F.P. just because I think this guy deserves one.I am in Sydney at the moment but what a great event is going on in Canberra as I write this.
Out with Bushfire and checked all waypoint. The container was there but not in the right place. Sorted and all good to go now.
I am sure that we have missed out on an experience by not completing this one properly. We were asked it we had worked out this puzzle, which we hadn't, so we were shown where the hide was. It is now a smiley for us but we will complete it properly when we visit again. Thank you keeping this cache going.
Geoturtle37 and I ventured down to this area for a couple of days so that we could attend the Christmas in Geelong events. As we came down on Friday, we took the opportunity to find some caches and ad labs whilst we were in the area. As we were close to this one, our companion asked if we had found this cache which we hadn't. Now that we are logging it, we understand why. Very sorry that this wasn't completed the way that it was meant to be. We will have to complete the rest of it, hopefully this trip but if not, on our next visit.
Sadly, after 30 minutes of hacking away at WP1 overgrowth and undergrowth, I’m going to have to concede defeat to another day. You’d think it would be easier to find a 1 L container! I’m a little concerned about the presence of a few beer cans. May indicate muggles have been hanging around here.
After completing Children’s Delight and noting the information required for WP1, we went back to the sundial to work out the calculations to our next destination. Rocked up and after a lengthy search, we started doubting ourselves if our coordinates were correct, so a quick PAF confirmed we were at the right location and also a much appreciated hint for the hidden container. Unfortunately it has seen better days, so we left a replacement and have notified the CO.
At our next stop, the fairies gave up their secret willingly and we were off to GZ. We found a perfect home, but were a little worried about what else we may encounter that maybe sharing this accommodation. We needn’t have worried.
What a fantastic journey this cache takes you on. We thoroughly enjoyed all the clues and hides and a well deserved favourite point is flying your way.
Thank you so much Bushfire for all the fun and to 6Hinemoa2 for adopting this cache to keep this little beauty in the game.

We have had this one solved for a while; all that we needed was the time to go and have a look.
Mrs Dromaniax wanted to do some photography at the Geelong Botanical Gardens for an assignment, so we headed in. Initially, there was an idea to find various flowers around the gardens and take close up and macro shots. But after we entered the glasshouse, that went out the window, and an hour or so was spent in the glasshouse having a sauna and taking some great photographs.
Photography duties complete, we left the warmth of the glasshouse and headed out to find a cache.
This one took a bit of finding, but we managed it in the end.
The cache is in great condition. Thank you for this cache Bushfire and for adopting it and maintaining it 6Hinemoa2.

Well done to Posums on this find. Fabhide here. Fav point added.
Today I teamed up with Posums for a day of caching fun in Geelong. Lots of caches, laughs and fun. Thanks to all the cache owners who placed these fabulous containers for us to find.

Headed down to to Geelong for another day of laughs, fun and of course hopefully finding a few caches.
Geelong has put on another great day of weather for us to be out and about touring the town.
I was meeting up with GemmaSistema for the day and I was the designated driver and Gemma was the navigator and co pilot.
After finishing a section of the rail trail and the marathon around the Eastern Cemetery it was time for some more caches in the suburbs.
We headed to the Eastern Parks Gardens and after finding Child’s Delight we gave this one a go.
After getting a set of cords we made our way back to GZ.
Had a good look but came up with nothing.
Tried one more time and I soon had the cache in hand.
Gemma did the signing duties and cache put back in place.
A fav goes out to you for this one.
Thanks Bushfire and 6Hinemoa2 TFTC.

I really enjoyed this hide!! I arrived at GZ with not a soul insite... I found the most likely place for it to be hidden but after feeling around I was started to second guess myself.
A little lightbulb moment and attached this cache from a different angle and BOOM,hello you beautiful thing. Very well hidden
Favourite point for the hide!!
Thanks for the adventure

I do rather enjoy a mystery. I’ve been working on this one for a while. Solving the secret of the sundial was easy, but finding the cache at WP1 was a lot harder. I went back for the the third time today, after reading through the logs. Today it was obvious, although now I know why!
I got to WP2 and saw some interesting little houses. There were plenty of muggles around earlier today, so I came back this evening. Worked out it wasn’t what I was looking for anyway. Isn’t it always the way?
It was here that I got a little confused. Numbers not the right way up? But the coords were written down. I wasn’t sure what to do, so I put the coords in my app and they looked okay, so I decided to just go there. I’m guessing that this mystery has had a lot of changes. A mystery in itself!
At GZ there were a couple of muggles around, but I headed over for a look. As soon as I saw the only place the cache could be, I knew I had to look deeper. Took a photo with my phone and yes, there it was! I waited out a few more muggles then put my jacket on, sprayed a heap of mozzie spray all over myself, and put a rubber glove on. I always keep some in my geobag. I made sure I pulled it over my jacket as well!
I’m actually glad I did this because the snails I swiped off the cache from Children’s Delight were now here looking for revenge! Every time I gingerly put my arm in a snail fell down and I snatched my arm out. I’m glad no one was around. After three times of doing this, I really had to reach in deep. My arm was in all the way up to my shoulder. It was at this point that a muggle drove by on the nearby road and all I could think of was how bad it looked… for anyone who has found this geocache I am sure you can guess why!
Getting the cache out was a bit tricky, I swear I need longer arms. I managed to drop it as well, so had to pick it up. So. Much. Fun… With the log signed and the TB collected, I now had the joy of getting the cache back. Not such an easy task but I got it back securely. I am so, so glad I decided to put my jacket on.
I’m leaving a favourite point here for the Elves and Fairies and the adventures and fun I had solving this mystery. TFTC

An early morning as I packed up camp at 6:30am before leaving Bendigo to make it to the Geelong coffee event and CITO.
In the afternoon I explored Eastern Park and after collecting the clue to this cache I returned to the sundial to consider the next step. I noticed something that would fit with the clue and gave it a shot. The location looked plausible so I set off and began my exploration. I was almost about to leave when I spotted something. Surely this isn’t where the next clue would be hidden? Sure enough it was! Off to the next location where I was distracted but something that looked odd but it turns out has nothing to do with the fairies or the cache. As I moved to the other side the next clue almost smacked me in the face.
The epic journey was coming to an end and the final was in sight. Ahhhh. Clever, very clever. A very well hidden hide and worthy of a favourite for the whole journey.
Thanks Bushfire for placing this gamepiece in the wild for us to find.

Had done most of the journey on this one a few weeks ago but ran out of time, so when the expected forecast for rain this morning didn’t eventuate, thought I’d get back here early & finish the job. This one had many twists & turns & an interesting concept as well. Variety of chores kept the story alive & an interesting finish was hinted at & was relevant. Thanks Bushfire. A favorite from me & have left a trackable for a prize for the next achiever.
After finding Children’s Delight we decided to give this one a shot straight away. Took us a long time to really comprehend what our task was but eventually found both Waypoints and headed to GZ. Once we arrived we quickly found the cache, stamped the log and replaced before the Elves found out
W we had solved this one ages ago but hadn’t really been back over this side of Geelong to make the find. When we got to gz kenbryl and I both said it was a ‘no’ from us. I’m not a fan of going into Shelob’s lair. If the brave Sean.75 wasn’t with us we would’ve keep going and not told a soul about our thwarted attempt lol. Tftc
With Sean.75 and kenare in town for a lil bit. This is anothery that has been sitting in the ‘we’ll find it one day’ pile. If is wasn’t for being here with Sean.75 it would’ve stayed as a puzzle piece for a while longer!! Not a fan of the guardians, but they do a great job protecting the fairies. Tftc
Holy crap!! Look at all those webs!!!! A quick look around had me finding a stick long enough to clear away most of them, so I could have a proper look inside. A trip back to Zygy to get some gloves, then back to sticking my hands where they didn`t want to go. The cache was found after a bit of torch work. Cigc. Tftc
Yesterday we found "Children’s Delight" and took a photo of what was needed, today we returned to the area to work our magic with the fairies. GZ had us a little concerned but hubby was brave and collected the cache container. SL TFTC
You will certainly need your aeroguard or whatever you use as the faireys have really got their friends the mozzies out in force here while the ageing Bushfire placed a new much larger container that has a container inside which has a laminated note telling you what to do next.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
As I was in the area it was time to check out the WPT's and just as well as there were lots of new grass growing around the area where the WPT 1 container is hidden so removed the grass and while at it replaced the container and laminated note that tells you what to do next.
On checking WPT2 The mozzies really took to me as I have stated in the CN's they were not happy.
I have decided to replace this WPT with a different style or method to allow you to find the final GZ cache. The old method may still be there but the mozzies were determined to eat me alive so I left them to it and headed for home.

This is to let the folk know that their travelers that I have had for some months that they are still safe and well as due to COVID-19 lockdowns I have not been caching but this weekend will see me start to get out and about.
I was about to abandon this one but decided a phone look was probably a good idea. Brisal5 used his and spotted the container. Then I reached in and grabbed the thing.
Thanks for the cache Bushfire.

A little post event caching kicked off here. Having completed the precursor cache some time ago I recently plugged my way through this one while working on a WIG that takes you nearby, so when someone mentioned they were heading here post event I figured that was as good an excuse as I needed. With a couple of PF’s in tow making the find at GZ was pretty straight forward. Even at 4am there was muggles in a car nearby doing goodness knows what.
Thanks Bushfire for placing this Regular Mystery - this is find 1170 for BFMC

In town for the flash mob events and seems as we were close by we would have a go at this. Wow it had our brains thinking with help from another cacher we soon had log book in hand and signed. Have to say the retrieval of the log was very scary not knowing what was lurking within. TFTC
n0w0rries found your cache Secret of the Sundial, on 22 June 2019 13:04
Targeting multi-caches, solved puzzles (some solved as we drove around), wherigo and virtuals, large and regular caches, after the daytime flash mob event.
I spent the day with nirgalagrin and AlphaDeltaIndigo on the Bellarine Peninsula.
A great day (and night) was had.
Finishing up at The Town Hall for more socialising and a mug of hot chocolate.
Thank you for placing and maintaining this Regular geocache for us to find, Bushfire.

Well, sometimes one cache leads to another, and this was surely the case. A bit of back and forth and n0w0rries, AlphaDeltaIndigo and I tracked down the elves and knocked on their door.
Thanks, again, Bushfire... Another fun one and I liked the way the cache container is handled, pun definitely intended.

Sometimes you are lucky enough to find clues in containers on how to solve puzzles! Why can’t they all be like this? Took a bit to find the cache until my arm was covered in webs and was totally brown! TFTC

Note to self read cache notes carefully. Second note to self learn how to understand Bushfireese. Once you translate all makes sense [:d].
We, and when I say we Sims_family Mum and kids found Children's Delight back along time ago sometime in 2016. Mum started off this on and hit a wall in translation of what was required to find this cache so it was shelved. Now we are sitting on 49.25 years of unloved and need just a few more months to get over the line of a challenge cache and this one pops up as one that is close that will do the job. So Dad digs back through old photos and starts again. This time making a little more sense and made it to WP2 and with a little help it was found under the mulch that was mentioned in the last maintenance log. Being a little confused still by the notes we made our way to the next stage finding the last element of the puzzle. But the confusion i did follow the instruction about changing the easterlies and my numbers were not making sense. Eventually my mistake was found and the a correct GZ was pin pointed and the rest is history with our names in the log book along with my partners in crime for the night Neville_devil and Fox_Girl my Geodaughter. With 346 days of unloved that is also now my 50 years unloved challenge complete

An 80 year old bushfire[?][?]
Apparently the ageing Bushfire aka Red Ant was having an 80th birthday party and since I owed him a mug or two, I really wanted to attend.
So Rex and I headed off in the Corolla for what ended up being a 4 day road trip to Geelong, Warrnambool and back to Shepparton during which I finally finished the Victorian Premiers whereigo [^][|)]
Had some great company exploring around Geelong prior to the birthday event, we attended 2 flashmobs and yes... I even managed to get pulled over by the police in Geelong (apparently a case of mistaken identity ) on the way to the 3am flashmob and the other geocachers in the car in front of me didn't even realise and just left me! [:o)][:o)]
The next day Rex and I spent ages in the Botanic Park doing a Bushfire multi and sadly we had to bother to CO for a nudge (with a bloody hammer). Then to cap it off, a muggle found the cache for us
I finally got to drive on the GOR and I have to say that I was so glad that I wasn't on my motorbike as it was rainy and blowing a gale for almost the whole road
We saw glow worms [^] and thoroughly enjoyed clear skies and no rain as we did so [^] although bering in there on my own at 2.30am was a bit freaky , then the moment we got back in the car, the rain and wind started again
We spent the night on the way to Warrnambool on the side of the road only to find in the morning that we'd been sleeping right on the edge of a cemetery
All in all an amazing, scenic and fun trip [^] where there was 6 DNFs and 63 cache finds over the 4 days
As I am about 8 months behind in logging, I'm resorting to template logs to catch up.
My heartfelt thanks to the COs who have placed some tricky, funny, exercise required, scary, interesting and devious caches in some amazing spots! [^]
Rex and I have had some amazing adventures and enjoyed some incredible moments thanks to this fantastic hobby

In the area today doing a maintenance run so checked the Sundial all as it should be. WPT1 Same container but all new plastic bags and a new laminated direction slip giving you the co-ords of WPT2. There is a huge pile of mulch that may cover the location of my container.!!!Hint.
All good at WPT2 as was GZ. The spiders have been busy so be careful. Gloves may be the way to go.

Cache-On!
In Geelong for a few days to attend the Christmas events. Grabbing some local caches with Snap Happy and The Empire inbetween. Had started this some years ago, so it was great to be able to finally finish it and find GZ. An enjoyable hide.
Thanks Bushfire for placing the cache for us to find.

As i was in the area I just had to check out this guy as well so WPT1. A little bit of a clean up here and all returned.
WPT2 all seems to be good here and one of the few times that I have checked this guy the details are where they should have been.
GZ Well once again somebody has not returned the container to where it should have been but that has now been rectified. So another cache is all good for the next finders.

Day two of this saga. Yesterday completed this ones partner and faltered at WP1. Did not look thoroughly enough and kicking myself had to return this morning to reaffirm my stupidity. Yep, there it was slugs n all. Found the required data, argued about its interpretation, Google switched on a light-bulb and all was clear to WP2.
More agonizing over the weighty problem of what to do next. Solution.....Suckit and see. Worked for us. Great work as usual Laurie. Never thought we would get through that one.

Geelong Day 4, last day in town.
A few caches around the town area & down along the waterfront. I love all the bollards along here.

We found Children's Delight, and collected the relevant information regarding solving this one, back in August. Last weekend we completed a couple of other geocaches around Eastern Gardens, and had a go at this one.
We thought the initial point was very clever, and headed off to WPT1 where we were amused and impressed by the hiding place. We were puzzled by what we found at WPT2, and tried to apply the instructions in the cache notes to come up with a reasonable GZ. It was a bit of a process of elimination. Coming up with a reasonable set of coordinates we headed there only to be confounded - plenty of places to hide a cache, but none matching comments in the logs.
Back at home I tried a couple of other combinations and came up with another reasonable set of coordinates, only to be find them to be totally unreasonable when we headed there the next day.
I sent a request to the helpful Bushfire for a nudge in the right direction and he generously provided it
Off we went today and spotted the likely hiding place as soon as we parked the car. GeoHubby retrieved the cache fortunately without any hindrance from mozzies.
Thank you for the adventure Bushfire!

I had worked on this multi since sometime last year when the previous one was solved but I for some reason have kept putting this one off. Some weeks ago I made my way to the other waypoints and was impressed with both. I had a little difficulty working out the final and over thought the process only for the CO to put me back on the path that I needed. Well after work today, I thought it was about time to collect. I had to wait out a 'L' plated muggle nearby and then went in to find. Yes very well hidden in a place I wasn't quite sure about. Thanks for the long drawn out journey for this cache Signed and returned as found.

I set out to find these two caches and was successful in doing just that. This was a brilliant cache! after finding the sister cache i went to the sundial and applied the calculations- very nicely done by the way! Arrived at WPT 2 and WOW, what an awesome hide!! I thought i was looking in the wrong area- brilliant hide here! onto WPT 3 and I couldn't believe what I saw, How did you make that!?!? Onto GZ were the hide was spotted quickly, this is the most well hidden systema container I have ever seen! the simplicity is incredible but it is extremely effective!

Checked WPT1 today and replaced the wet outside plastic bag and dropped off a new info sheet. If you find the golf ball you are close. Mulch has not been spread yet and if it keeps getting pinched then I will have no problems.
Astro loves a good sundial. Indeed, the heart of TeamAstro's solar system is GCAABF Multi-cache Don't look at the Sun! I'm not sure if this dial is featured on that cache but I'll be sure to have a scroll through the logs.
The cache had me stumped for a tick then I decided to put my arm where you normally would not put your arm. I was rewarded with a nice big cache so signed the log and smiled and this ones theme - well to RedPaw64 and for Bushfire for the subsequent maintenance.
Thanks to Bushfire and clear skies from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!

After finally getting a chance to complete the "Childrens Dellight" cache, I had all the info needed to collect this hide. It was still fairly early in the morning, so there were only a few muggles about. As I approached GZ, I was wondering if I had the right co-ords. After a bit of a look over the area, I had a thought.... could it be ?? Yep, it was !! What a clever hide, can't say I had retrieved one quite like that before. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey to this cache. A fave point from me. TFTC Bushfire
After a couple of DNF's and then a couple of finds I checked and yes the container is where it was supposed to be, so all good for the time being.
Back in the area today helping some locals achieve their tree climbing aspirations so I decided to grab this mystery. After a failed search last time the CO gave me the hot tip that I was in the right place but possibly missing the one place to look. Today I laid my hand on it straight away and retrieved the cache no problems!
Dropped off a few TBs as it was a nice sized container!

This was a tricky multi... with an eventual find. Arrived at wp1 and couldn't see anything, nor could I understand why the elves would want the sundial there. A msg to Bushfire confirmed the correct co-ords and a deeper search produced the next clue. NP @ WP2. A search at gz revealed a scary home for those elves to live in. Thanks for this challenging cache Bushfire.
Completed the sister cache to this and obtained the clues to start our journey. Worked out what to do at stage one then on to the next stage where we found more information. Searched high and low at the final destination and couldn't find anything. Searching was interrupted by a couple of swooping magpies (here very late in the season) but we persisted. Fairly certain we were in the right area, but it wasn't our day. Thanks for another great cache.
Out in Geelong rounding up a few puzzles today. This was the second DNF.
After a PAF I am sure I'm in the right place but the cache is nowhere to be found.
Hopefully it's just my eyesight and its hidden somewhere out of my gaze.

After having finally cracked the other cache I was glad to be able to sign this one at long last and it could not have come at a better time for Mystery May Thanks for a unique cache!!
After several attempts at this one's sister cache due to high muggle activity we finally accomplished our goal of finishing it and getting the necessary info to start this one off. Using the poor weather as cover and by now darkness we set off getting all the required information to work through the waypoints and find and sign the final cache. With high fives and sighs of relief we headed off for another tricky one that has been haunting us.

After finding the first part of the series we thought we would have a go at the second part. Luckily there elves and fairies were feeling kind towards us tonight and we were able to find the final. Thanks for the hide.
On a night of picking up solved puzzles with alchey, this one was an obvious choice. The first part was completed some time ago, but as this area is a place I avoid because of flying mini blood suckers, it was not a high priority. None of these around tonight, or just weren't hungry, so that was a relief. Nice hide at gz, muggle free at the time, which was just as well as retrieval of the cache was certainly far easier than I found its replacement. Finally replaced safely so on our way. Tftc and nice walk.

Having picked up mogni, our weekend caching Team name became BAMO ( brisal5, Aussie M & M, mogni and Owl). We were going from Mount Gambier to Geelong, caching in Geelong and then back home again.
Getting all of mogni's souvenirs in one day also meant that Doctor Owl and Aussie M & M would earn their souvenirs once in SA and once in Vic.... Fun.
We all really enjoyed this puzzle. Got the clue from the multi, went to one spot, found it, headed to next spot, hmmm sneaky, and then woohoo a great spot for an end point. Definite fav for me.

Having completed children's delight we had to do the puzzle linked to it Great idea
Thank you

The fairies are very confusing, but having figured out their tricks the South Australian caching invasion took on another cache and their third souvenir. A very clever series of waypoints and fun to follow to the final GZ, where Aussie M&M and Owl found the cache after Brisal5 and Mogni walked straight past the hide. Rather difficult to get out and back in, but they managed it. A favourite point coming your way.
BAMO (brisal5, aussie M&M, mogni, Owl) came to Geelong on a mission to collect all 7 souvenirs of August in a day. [B)]. Not only did we achieve this we got 9 different types altogether during a long exhaustive day. My thanks to all the friendly cachers we met and helped us along the way for this result. [:X]
Children's delight...tick. Clue to start this....tick. Off we go. First stop and we check out the obvious hide. Nope....wait a minute. camo on camo! clever Stop two and stumped for a very long time. Then spied something very small and out of place and was able to reel the clue in. [^] Discussing the amendments managed to confuse everyone so mogni and I walked past gz thinking it had moved slightly. Meanwhile the go-go gadget arms of Owl got the cache. Thanks Bushfire we had some fun and confusion getting this one.. a Fav.

The secret was uncovered in the wee hours of the morning during a group assault where a few night caches were found. This had us set up for a nice adventure we got all the waypoints but got stuck at GZ for a while. But soon the cache was in our hands and a smiley was gained. TFTC
We finished Children's Delight and moved onto this one - our first Mystery cache. Fairly straightforward, especially with Bexta's extra set of eyes and DBelco also along for the trip. Thanks again Bushfire and RedPaw64. (Maybe we can do this mystery thing after all)
A blustery cold winters day won't hold me back from coming out this way for a spot of caching and stopping here to have a look for this cache which was found with accurate co-ords and in good condition. Ok, so by this time of the day the weather was horrid and we were cold but caching is why we're here and this opportunity was too good to pass up. Plus this puzzle has a good reputation so off we went in the rain and wind to eventually find the well hidden cache. Nice work
Thanks Bushfire for making this an enjoyable day exploring.

We have finally uncovered the secret of the sundial. Even though it was cold and windy and it was getting towards an early winter dusk, we plodded on. It was well worth the effort as each of the stages were fun, and with our final coordinates in hand we set off. A suitably clever final hide to match the other stages in this puzzle.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Got the hints from Children's Delight. Worked out each step, Glanville Girls on the job here. Some very tricky waypoints. It was nearly dark when we got to GZ. Geodad made the find. A favourite from me. Thanks for the hunt Bushfire.
After obtaining the clues from an earlier cache, we again made our way to the Children's Playground. They geokids had another play while we were working out our plan. Off to the next WP, it was getting dark. Geodad was the saviour here. Brilliant camo. The next WP was illuminated by Glanville Girls Geodad and we were able to retrieve the info. Another great camo. It was very dark now so off to GZ. Geodad had the cache located in no time. Another fantastic camo. Thanks Bushfire. A favourite from me.
Caching with Glanville Girls, McLookers and Tomstache, after collecting the required hints we made our way to GZ . The cache was soon found signed and replaced Thanks for the great puzzle. A favourite point from me.
Another Fantastic cache Bushfire. We collected the info we needed from the Children's Cache and then back to the sun dial. Hmm where to from here? Then an aha moment and we were off again. It was getting dark at this stage and we weren't sure we would be able to see the next waypoints, but with all the boxes ticked we were off to GZ. By torch light we made the find. Caching with McLookers, Tomstache and Beckster22.

As previous cachers have said, completed Children's Delight so it was only natural to complete this cache.
With the maths done and travels complete it was off to GZ where after I sat and tried to wait out a muggle in their car, with 15mins passed I decided to have a look around and found the cache which was out of their view. found a seat and signed the log.

After finding the clue in children's delight we decided this cache could not wait went to the sundial worked out what we needed. Found the second way point easily and off to the elves home we headed arrived at GZ soon found the elves home. But where is the cache Ogrebeast used his phone to take a photo and there your are you little blighted signed log TFTC
After doing children's delight last night and totally turning a blind eye to the clue (thought it was stash note lol), we set off back to CD to get what we needed. Back to the park we went and once again embraced my inner child and had some fund whilst only cachers were around found all the waypoints and arrived at GZ. After searching here and there and back to the most obvious spot, the cache was soon in hand and log signed by all is involved tonight. TFTC
After doing Children's Delight last night a few of us decided to collect the clue so that we could collect this one as well. We headed to the sundial (and a bit of a play in the park) to work out what was needed. We went to the co ords to collect more clues until we finally found where the Elves home was (aka my house). Upon the first look we couldnt find anything however we thought this must be the right spot. We widened the search area but ended up back at the first spot where one half of Ogrebeast decided to use the phone to have a closer inspection where the cache was found. The log was signed with all the names. It was good to do this one in a group as it makes more fun.

Found the information for this cache ages ago and never got back here to attempt this one until today. It was certainly an adventure with fantastic hides at all WPs, perfect coords and a nice walk and drive in this great park. Thanks heaps to bushfire and redpaw64 for a great little adventure.
Thanks to Bushfire yet again. Bogonghazy and I always enjoy finding your caches. As we did with this one whilst staying in town for a few days. Many Thanks.

We had decided to attend the Geelong Smorgasbord Events so we decided to come down on Friday to try and pick up as many caches as possible, as Mr Crackers was working this weekend The Coffee’s kindly offered Mrs Crackers a seat in their geomobile.
After doing Childrens Delight a few weeks back, I snapped a pic of the instructions needed for Secret of Sundial for when i next had time. Made my way out here to an surprisingly empty playground this sunny afternoon.
Went to location and something was gone but couldn't find the fault. To confirm I sent a message to bushfire (whose number i got off Barwon money exchange logbook cover, just in case I ever needed it) for a bit of guidance. Friendly advice let me know I had the right thing in mind and off to the next waypoints.
I have done maybe 40-50 bushfire hides now, and still surprised the variety of hides that come up. Was really impressed and great hide, not to mention the fairies little home at GZ.
This one gets a favourite tick for the effort and creativity that went into this, thanks bushfire!

This is a great cache from the legendary Bushfire. Really works the brain and the feet. A great hide in the end after having to PAF to check orientation of clue at WPT2. Found this great GZ hide a couple of weeks ago and was saving the logging for a quick find day for my current streak of 99 days. Thanks to Bushfire for the great chase - a favourite for me.
We picked a drizzly morning to attempt this cache hoping for minimal muggle traffic at the waypoints, but we were foiled at each point by council workers, sportsmen, gardeners and a school class! At each location we waited them out, read through logs and planned our method of approach. It took 2 hours but it was with great satisfaction that we ended up at a likely GZ and a clever hide. TFTC, another classic Bushfire cache that keeps you on your toes the whole way.
I thought Children's Delight was tough, until I tackled these fairies and elves and their closely guarded secrets!
Got the starting clue from the companion cache, but did not know where to start.
Had to PAF just for the first stage - then I was quickly onto the faulty sundial. WP1 was a quick find after that, on a rainy night last week. Then I went back to tackle WP2 and GZ today.
Took a long time around WP2 until I realized what the cache notes were saying. Then got the cache, but did not know how to interpret the co-ords. Tried the obvious, and ended up with co-ords 1km out into the bay. After reading the notes again, and revisiting WP1, I found another lead I had missed on my first visit. So GZ was soon located. But was it that? No mirror, but I always have a camera with me.
Even after finding it, retrieval was "rather" tricky...
As previous finders have logged, frustratingly difficult but very doable. The co-ords were all accurate, but my cryptic-clue deciphering skills were not up to scratch.
TFTC, Bushfire - some sneaky WPs and GZ indeed!
Find #479 on day 97 of continuous caching - just 4 more to go to reach the 101 target!

Having completed the children's delight it was the obvious progression to do this little number. No problem extracting the coords for wp1 and the coords for wp2 were in our hot little hands very quickly. Wp2 although located and interpreted quickly was not all plain sailing. Then the fun began. Major discussion / debate/ stern words etc with little blue hen as to the meaning of mirrored images, flighty elves and fairies and fishing! Couldn't make sense and were sunk. Called CO who was very helpful but still unable to come to grips due to time constraints. Pondered the possibilities and did some projections overnight and came up with a possibility thanks to an upgrade on the cache notes. Detoured to the most likely spot but after re-reading the cache notes as per cache size decided it wasn't possible where we were currently located and our other projection looked like a swim would be involved. More discussion. Decided to take a punt on another minutes projection and drove the trusty jeep to a very likely spot. As usual I had a boys look while little blue hen patiently waited for the garmin to settle and bingo. Elves nailed! Thanks for the adventure. Worth a favourite for the effort put into it. TFTCSLTNLN.
We made this harder than a difficulty 3. Tricky little beggars those elves. T4TCSL Bkj97's log tells the tale.
Success at last on this our 3rd attempt!! We have really enjoyed the challange of this great multi - wp2 and especially the amazing hide to get the cache and sign the log. We never know what you will think up next! Must admit there were some frustating times as well but that is geocaching!! We do so appreciate all the time and planning that has gone into setting this cache up - not forgetting the maintenance that is required from time to time.
