After doing the Mt Matilda trail, we just had to spend our trip home finding a few more caches... Of course I had done my homework & knew that this cache was still in play Smile After enjoying the spectacular views from the top, we did some calculations that gave us some plausible co-ordinates... After descending back down the mountain, the hunt was on & it was I who spotted the container [^]

TFTC ZED! Cache has seen better days, but should be ok for the few that will stop by to find it.

Day 4 of our mini road trip which was meant to start in Perenjori but didn't quite make it so stayed last night at Mullewa Pub and enjoyed a lovely meal there too. So today it's Mullewa to Wongan Hills via Xanthippe, Pithara and Ballidu.
Have a few caches on my list so fingers crossed we can manage as many as possible as I'm chasing numbers on this trip Smile

Turns out another warm day in town and I didn't pack my shorts Sad

Muggle wrote down wrong co-ords so put us over 2km away so went through them again and saw his area.
After having a look around we went to new correct co-ords and there was the cache, found by muggle

Great views from up at the lookout

TFTC Smile

Seal has fallen off container but should still be ok. Replaced as found

I decided to pack the swag and head away for a 24hr road trip and made plans to head up north to grab caches in a few more counties for a challenge that I have my eye on completing Big Grin. I scoped out a route that would give me 7 more WA counties and also targeted quite a few of the archived caches that are seemingly still in play [^]. I had a fantastic time caching up here and a huge thanks to all the CO's for the effort in placing the caches!

ZED! - jinta29 found your cache Wheatbelt Lookout. This is my find #6066 and find #5 today. The cache is in good shape and we replaced it as found. Thanks for the time and effort taken to place this cache!

Roadtripping the Northern Wheatbelt with Kyzabra and Krabiboy, this was a good archived cache to collect. Great view and spot, pity its not active. Thanks ZED

05-Aug-16
Today was a huge day. 14 hours, 625km, and 27 finds.

This trip out had been a long time in the planning.
Krabiboy and I had hatched a plan and probably changed it about 10 times. dallyho joined us, final plans were set, and off we went

A pity this one is archived cause it's a Rippa spot and I would give it a fav if it was still active

ZED! - Kyzabra found your cache Wheatbelt Lookout . The cache is in good shape and we replaced it as found. Thanks for placing this and bringing us to this spot!

05-Aug-16
Kyzabra and I have had our eyes on this part of the Wheatbelt for a few months. We were joined by Dallyho and today was the day to head out and make a weekend of it.

We left at 4.30am on Friday and headed off to the northern wheatbelt.

We covered over 600km today, clocking up 29 finds, including 5 archived caches.

A beautiful view from up the top, we clambered back down and made the find. A nice archived cache find here.

TFTC ZED!.

ZED!, I found your cache Wheatbelt Lookout on 5/08/2016.
This is my find #2900 and find #11 today.

OMG what an amazing view!!! The colours were incredible and the reflections off the various lakes superb!! Solved the puzzle and found the cache! We were hoping to have time to complete the caches on the Matilda walk trail but alas no time today, hopefully we may get back next weekend if the caches are still available! Thanks again ZED for all your caches, we've enjoyed them all!

This was our second stop in the morning before music feste in Wongan. After we drove up to the lookout and got the number, I still couldn't figure out the puzzle. However I had noticed the big rocks when we came in, and it said it was outside the private property sign, so we tried them and it didn't take long. We almost saw it at the same time, approaching from different sides of the hole. TFTC - maybe the last find. We will try more in the afternoon.

22-Aug-10
We came here after fininshing the ones on the other side of the road, we were quite relieved that we didn't have to walk far to pick this one up. TFTH

03-Jan-10
We came here after attempting to do the three the other side of the road. Unfortunately the little Garmin Nuvi spits the dummy when the heat exceeds about 45°C and she won't take a charge. We got out of the bus to find flat batteries again so had no chance of walking the course and finding three caches. This is a great lookout and some good history on the area. It was a nice easy find and the last for the day. We went to sleep in baking heat but it cooled off nicely during the night. TFTF

03-Nov-09
A great view at the start. TFTH.

Great view from the top. The clues were found and we headed for the cache. Glad we weren't walking up that hill. T Mr Burns (he'll become a TB) and penny L bottle opener.
Thank you for placing a cache at a great site.

Just pasing through on a wildflower trip. It seemed fitting that I leave a 1919 Australian penny as the question culminates in 1920. T toy car. TFTH. Early morning was a mist that hid everthing from site, so visited again later and saw the magnificent view.

Camped in Dandaragan for a couple of days, so luckily didnt have the 23ft van with us!..On the way in we saw 2 Wedge Tailed Eagles take off from a low position, had quite a view of them as they struggled skywards. Fantastic views from the top on a rarther warm day, and we enjoyed the ironic "twist" of the final cache position. On the way down near the gate we saw two walkers (Fly nets in place..luckily for them) starting the tough climb upwards, then saw their campervan parked up. I couldnt help but think of them as cachers, and how they might feel at the end of the hunt.
TNLNSL
A very enjoyable hunt...thank you.

12-Oct-08
The wind was blowing but that was good as it kept the flies away for once. We were impressed by how clean the BBQ was but we didnt have anything to cook on it. Next time we will be prepared.
The drive up is not for caravans but the sign at the bottom does tell you this so dont be silly and try to take one up there.
We were able to sit in the cool breeze and work out the figures before hunting out the cache on the way back downhill.
We took the TB Kwakka
Added a Toothbrush in a sealed pack.
This is real Aussie Bushland with a great view

05-Oct-08

The one that got away - Although I arrived at the lookout and determined the final coords, I was physically unable to make a search. This cache will have to wait until our next visit. The views from here are terrific and well worth the visit anyway. Thanks anyway for the cache Rod.
