It was about a year ago that I was reading a blog about the Mt Matilda Walk Trail & I had said to Jase that we needed to check it out... Problem was he had just broken his foot & there was not much chance of going on a hike anytime soon Fast forward a year, we planned that we would venture up this way & check it out... Of course I had done my homework & knew there could possibly be some caches to find also
After parking at the trailhead & fuelling up with some sandwiches, we were ready to go... We enjoyed our walk to this spot, the first cache on the way The walking was mostly flat but a gradual climb at the start... After checking out the view & taking a few snaps we headed over in search of the prize. A quick find was made here!
TFTC ZED! An awesome spot for a cache... Sadly the container is very brittle & a few cracks are appearing, so we tried to cover it a little better in case any one else is hunting this one

After the music feste we went off to Mt Matilda. This first one was quite easy and we were off to the next one. TFTC

Really enjoyed this trail but didn't go the full circuit-muggle husband stayed behind & read a magazine-loved the views & the bush. Containers both have unsatisfactory (non-fitting) lids so contents a little damp after recent rain, otherwise all good. TFTC
Nice walk to the cache, fantastic views along the way. Flies were buzzing around, glad we didn't leave this till summer. Lid on box wouldn't close but contents are completely dry. SL TNLN TFTC
nice cache easy for me as a learner. lid on box is dodgy and hard to get back on
Originally we had another cache as the one to go for first, until Sue decided to recheck and it was apparent that this one was now closer. TFTC ZED!
(Chwiliwr team catch up log)We came by today and decided to do the walk as the wind was keeping the heat down if not keeping the flys away. Had a pleasant walk up to GZ and made a quick find. Took TBThanks for the cache. (Finally doing some of your country ones.)

We came to this area a couple of years ago but it was too hot for the walk, and those famous last words were uttered.."Next time!!"
Well here we are and a perfect day to tackle these 3 caches on this fantastic walk. So much to see on the way round, and the views are awesome. Really enjoyed seeing the old Mallefowl nest, incredible to think that its 50 years since it was used, and nothing has grown over the mound.
Lots of wildflowers are beginning to come out, and it will get better over the coming weeks.
A nice easy find TNLNSL
Congratulations must go to all those involved in setting this trail up, well organised, well signed and very enjoyable.

This was a bit of a pain. We completed the 7.5km walk and then had to rerun the extra 3km to get this one that we missed on the way around. TFTH
Started off early while it was still cool and thoroughly enjoyed the walk and the three caches. Some wildflowers still out and plenty of pesky flys. Took us just of two hours to complete the walk. TNLN. Thanks nobodyZ
Nothing like a 7km brisk walk first thing in the morning. We set off after this cache and took lots of photos of flowers along the way. The views from here are very impressive. Very few flies...bonus!
TNLNSL Thanks again.
TNLNSL Thanks again.
Nice walk, great view and the wildflowers are out in force. Easy find. Took gloves, left puzzle. TFTC
This series of caches is a group that must be done if you are out in this part of the Wheatbelt.
You will need to be prepared with water. Lots of it.
Winter would be the most enjoyable time as we found it was a bit hot on the rocky paths.
There are lots of things to see and you feel that you want to take photos of it all.
We grabbed the Scouting GC coin but forgot what we added...

Great place! Beautiful walk! Fantastic views! And superb wildflowers. What more would you want? Well, finding the cache topped it all up on this blue sky day. Got Snowy out before the heat of summer. Dropped a coin (Hoxie).

Enjoyed the hike. What an amazing diversity of mini eco systems in such a small area. Kept walking out of one and into another. Placed Snowy the traveller in this cache. Took nothing. Thank-you!
Accompanies with Varuna. We leave the car park at 3.15pm and return at 6.15pm. We walked - Scenic Trail and found all three caches. I couldn’t believe how so beautiful bushland and view as well. Thank you for bring me to be there. It’s really worth. Thanks NobodyZ for organise the cache and hunt.
Rated: for Overall Experience
Another one of NobodyZ's excellent cache series - we really enjoyed walking on the scenic trail around despite thousands of flies. Visit is highly recommended. Thanks to NobodyZ for another excellent view spot and the cache.
STF. Easy trek after the initial 400 mts. 3 klm return trip from GZ. Well cleared and signposted trail. Great views from several spots on way to GZ. Flies horrendous - must get one of those nets!

Definitely - this has to be one of the better walks of the state. I found it hard, but very worthwhile, and Sorry Rod - I couldn't wait for the other caches you've left up there. I'll just have to come back again for them . The flies are bad at present, so bring along a fly net or you'll be sorry . T: Dreamcatcher and FTF card, L: Laser pointer, SL. Thanks Rod for bringing me up here - I'll be back for more another time.
Don't rush out to do this, (I know, as if!) I haven't finished yet, this isn't the only geocache I hid on the mount today.
