Out with B12 claiming smiles through the wheatbelt. Thank you ZED

Out today with L68, heading to Wubin via a number of wheatbelt country towns to cleanup three more of the wheatbelt science trail caches and a few others that have appeared since I was last in the area. Thanks for a great day out.
Out & about a crazy road trip with the kids, this cache was another we found whilst exploring the area... After making our way across the huge rock slab, the prize was quickly found
TFTC & for showing us this spot ZED! We took some time checking out this unique spot & the kids had a great time playing in the rock pools [^] Although the cache no longer clips together, the contents are in surprisingly good condition. Cheers!

I decided to pack the swag and head away for a 24hr road trip and made plans to head up north to grab caches in a few more counties for a challenge that I have my eye on completing . I scoped out a route that would give me 7 more WA counties and also targeted quite a few of the archived caches that are seemingly still in play [^]. I had a fantastic time caching up here and a huge thanks to all the CO's for the effort in placing the caches!
ZED! - jinta29 found your cache Only a picnic away. This is my find #6062 and find #1 today. The cache is in good shape and we replaced it as found. Thanks for the time and effort taken to place this cache!

Our caching buddies have WB plates on their cruiser so this was one we had to do before it was archived! Thanks again ZED for an excellent cache!
Stopped at Wongan Hills for cuppa and figured there'd be a cache up here and there is. Interesting spot. TNLN TFTC
Went for a last minute hunt for this one as I had to go to wongan with the school bus. We will try some more of the soon to be archived ones on Tuesday as we are back for music feste. Lucky we had these already saved on the iPad as they don't come up any more. We don't have gps yet so the sat pic is the only way to find.
Last Call!
This Geocache will be permanently archived in July.
Thank You to all who have enjoyed my tour of the Wheatbelt.

No need to archive this cache it's very dry under that rock, the town had two heavy downpours yesterday both with hail and it's still snug in its hide out, but as a kiwi I do put my hands in places like this with trepidation. It's a great spot you took us to. TFTC TNLN
Found a dirt track into the area which dropped me 250m from the cache. A short walk through the bush brought me to the very large slab of rock and the cache

Quick find , the contents are quite dry thanks to the rock on top of the container

I think after a hot summer the lid has deteriorated and no longer clips shut, might be a problem in winter
Thanks thabazleys for the condition report but I think it was a number of hot summers, its been out there 7 years and being a $2 container I only expected it to last 3 tops. Anyway, due to personal reasons all my geocaches are due to be archived before the year is out so I won't be replacing it before collection.
Had to do the walk twice 'cause our GPS ran out of batteries just when we were 100 m away from cache! Such a beautiful walk tho - we thoroughly enjoyed it both times!
First geocaching experience. Never been anywhere other than picking up farm supplies in Wongan. thanks for the adventure, Amanda Samuel Isabel. dalmenyeast

I did the whole walk and found it very enjoyable, only I forgot my camera.
Got back to the car and found a closer entry point to go back and get some great shots. It always amazes me the ingenuity of our pioneers.

Found this cache while out on one of my early morning walks. I enjoyed the peace and quiet as the sun rose, with just me and the morning chorus of the abundant birdlife. Left candy cane and took tissues. Thanks
From september 23th till october 15th 2011 i made a birdwatchingtrip in SW-Australia. We went from Perth straight north till Kalbarri NP and thrue the wheatbelt to Albany and back to Perth. Near all the campingspots i looked if there where any caches around and when possible i went for a quick search between afternoon-drinks and dinner. i drove the campervan so i didn't have to cook
This was almost a hit and surely run for me........its getting early dark in SWA. Stash lay at a very big peace of rock but was easily found.
TFTC, Havik(o)

Took the short cut on this one and walked from the end of the airstrip out to the rocky area. Found the cache quickly. SL TNLN Thanks ZED!
This turned into a very interesting walk and except for the flies was extremely enjoyable. We got a shock to find ourselves walking passed the end of an active airfield and then not much further on the natural outcrop. The co-ords were spot on and the GPS pointed directly to the cache location for a nice easy find in a very picturesque location
Many thanks ZED! for the cache

After a short stop at the information centre decided to do the Chrismas Rock Trail and this cache instead of Mount Matilda. But come back for that later on!
Enjoyed the walk and the views. But around 12 it really got too hot to do another trail.

Very interesting spot. The airport is definitely the shortest way to go. TFTH TNLN
Spectacular spot, as if it's right in the middle of town.
Another place i've driven through heaps and never stopped.
What an impresive piece of engineering it was to divert that water.

Perth 10.10. I snuck in round the end of the runway where some locals were testing there big road bikes. There is a very large sheet of granite here, wow. Thanks.

After getting settled at the caravan park we headed off to do this one. Still wildflowers around. We found the cache without any problem. TNLN. Thanks nobodyZ
We had an eventful walk to the cache..after passing two swarms of bees, one of which was on the track, we encountered a snake that was about the size of a pencil. We found the cache and had a look at the water catching devices. T - bobbie hat pin L compass clip.

Wow, talk about rocks!
This cache was one of the reasons we went on a 622km caching day trip with long friends (yet new cachers), intarnets. Thanks for bringing us up this way, and encouraging us to explore the region.
TNLNSL, thanks for the cache!

We cheated a bit by driving in to within 200 metres or so via a dirt track off the Pithara road. A nice and interesting area, but i didnt linger too long as i was hot and the flies were unbelievable today, two managed to find a way in to my mouth as i tried signing the log..LOL
TNLNSL..Thanks for the cache here.

Team "Red Devils" seems to be following us. It was too hot so we opted for the shorter trip. Even then the walk wasnt that short as we may have parked a bit further away than others did.
Interesting how the local town utilised all the rocks to collect water. At least they were self sufficient in those times.
There were a few ochids so we took some pics of them.
Added soft toy took nothing

Found the cache easily and signed log. We spent quite a lot of time in this reserve exploring and photographing the wildflowers which were in good bloom. We saw several of the rare green orchids for the first time which really made the wife’s day and another brownie point for cacheing.
Thanks for the cache.
Cheers and beers

Accompanies with Varuna. Wow very interest about airport area. We wandered along to the cache and love natural bushland. Thanks NobodyZ for organise the cache and hunt.
Rated: for Overall Experience
Another one of NobodyZ's excellent cache series. This was quite unusual place where you can drive across the airstrip (do not attempt this way) we drove to the end of the beside airstrip and turned right into the rocky area. Thanks for bringing us to the other excellent spot and the cache.
STF at 1425. 850 mt walk in from car parking area. Wide sandy track to interesting area. No problems finding cache.
Met another cacher 'hazelhope' on way out.

An easy find after one of my more enjoyable drives into any area. I feel that I've missed the best of the wildflowers though, and have already put this area on the holiday route for next year (early Spetember). Even so, there is still much to see. T: FTF card, LN-SL. Thanks to Rod for the cache.
