We were pretty sure we were in the right place but could not find any cache. We did find a Glad snaplock bag on the ground but nothing inside it and nothing else that even looked like a cache. Hoping we were just cache blind today but CO may need to check on this.
Sorry, but we couldn't do any more than scratch our names into a page and replace it where we believe it had to go.
It was full of water and needs your loving care please.

TFTC,
This was on the ground and full of water. At 8PM, it wasn't possible to do anyting about trying to dry it out. I will post a needs maintenance log.
After arriving in Tasmania yesterday we drove south to Dover where we stayed last night.
This morning we went as far south as it is possible to drive before commencing our caching adventure.
We found our first recorded find in Tasmania providing me with my only remaining souvinier for Australia and have continued firstly north and from Huonville east towards Bruny Island. Had dinner at Snug, finding this (our last cache for the day) and other caches.
I also qualify for the new Challenge cache in NSW now requiring you to find a cache in every state and mainland territory in a calendar year. We had completed a 18,000Km trip around Australia earlier this year and when the Challenge was published we figured that if we didn't visit ACT, Victoria and Tasmania this year, we would never get another chance. We drove to Melbourne and flew to Hobart and will return via Jervis Bay to ensure we complete every mainland territory before the end of the year.
What a great day to be down there. The sun is out and the wind is minimal with the temperature high enough to spend my time here with just a T shirt. Didn't see any whales other than the Bronze Sculpture.
Visited trackables.

On our back from dinner to our accommodation, picked up a cache nearby. Tried to sign the very wet book. Thanks to March Brown.
This one is still there.
Good little hiding place. Put my hand through a spider web getting it. TFTC

Not sure if it was washed away with flooding 3 weeks ago??? Or river too high today.
Found this one beside a now swollen fast running creek. A bit slippery in parts. Thank you for the cache.
Thanks to onthrun and his all terrain exploration The river was swollen due to all the rain we've had. Slippery adventure! TFTC
Both our GPSr's were playing silly billys here swirling round in circles & telling total fibs so finding the cache was more a case of using our eyes. Due to the drought the river has temporarily ceased to flow revealing old rusty car parts & the like lying in the bed. Thanks March Brown.
Managed to dodge the jutting, half buried, metal post this time, and found the cache. Nice little spot. Travelbug not here as inventory says. TFTC.
Travelling around Australia and spending a few months in Tasmania.
tucked up safely in snug we decided to head out to see what was in the area. Wow wasnt it a windy couple of days.
Lovely area.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, and thanks for the cache March Brown. 2nd find for 2016. Drove over the bridge a few months back, and though it a good spot for a hide. Thanks for bringing me here to see what's left of the old bridge.

On a little visit to the Huon area, picked this one up on an afternoon drive around the peninsula TFTC a quick easy find, once I found the right side of the creek.
Ttfc driven past here many times and never knew there was an old bridge

Found 03.02.14. Was a little wary retrieving the cache at this time of year - water, rocks, old timber maybe snakes or spiders! No, all OK. TFTC
Cache found during my stay in Tasmania! Thank you for this discovery

second one today on our trip around the channel. Didn't know Old Station Road went that far! interesting spot. TFTC
Silly me: I should have found the new bridge before looking for the old one. I was off scrambling in the scrub instead of meandering along the bank. Once I was at GZ it was a quick find. The old bridge is crumbling: a rock tumbled down, of its own accord, while I was there. TFTC
Hello March Brown
Cache number 700
I do like these old bridge abutments have you any more.

Easy find on a sunny morning in a spot that I have not visited before. Thanks March Brown.
Never turned into this road despite turning the other direction many many times. Easy parking, nice little stumble to GZ, and a quick find. Replaced as found. TNLN Thanks!
Was alot of cars parked every were today as the seemed to be a concert on down the corner. Was still room the GZ and a short walk had us at the base of the old timer. Would be interesting to of seen this bridge in its hey day.

We certainally have been taken to some nooks and crannies today .... that's why I love caching! Thanks for this one!
The cache is quite wet and the paper was too wet to write on. But the cache was easy to find thanks to your directions. TFTC!
Had fun finding this one, searched the wrong side of the river first, then stepped across a couple of rocks to the otherside and quickly found the cache. Another great March Brown cache, thanks.
Found with blossom* - I really enjoy seeing the remians of these old bridges. Great little spot, TFTC

A short trip down some quiet little side roads brought us to this spot. My gps pointed me at the river bank on this side, no, the other side. I hopped around on both sides for a bit before working out where to be and then it was a quick find TFTC, it's always interesting to come across old relics like this.
A quick find in the company of Drat1964. Geodad & geokid grabbed the cache after geomum & Drat gave directions from the other side. A real team effort. Took bakugan, left tech deck.
It was easy access to the area and accurate coordinates led to a quick find. We wondered why a new bridge was built - did the old one simply deteroriate over time or was it the victim of flooding? The current bridge was certainly on a better alignment. TFTC March Brown
Found this one while we were heading back to our caravan which is parked at Gordon. We have had a wonderful day on Bruny Island doing the cruise and finding a few caches is a wonderful way to finish off the day. Thanks March Brown - an interesting spot.
I looked on the correct side of the stream at first, but the hint made no sense. Then when I went over to wrong side of the stream, where I could see things better. Once I did that I went back over to the correct side a logged it. A muggle arrived to go fishing while I was writing. He wondered why I had GPS. Tried explain about Geocaching. Seemed interested.
Came here on our way down south from our campsite at Snug. Took a little while, but we soon had it logged. Certainly once was a bridge here. TNLN. Thanks March Brown for another find on our 2011 Tassie Trek.
Found with Tassie Trekkers while caching in the area. Muddy under foot today. TFTC.
Had a bit of spare time left before catching the Bruny ferry. Most fascinating studying the old bridge ruins while searching. Meanwhile at the geocar a friendly officer in blue had pulled up and was talking to the geokids who stayed behind this time. He was quite happy and interested to learn about geocaching (and that these were not abandoned kids). Now we would like to learn more about when the old bridge was built and when did it cease. Thanks MB for this cache! tnln sl
In the gathering dusk and by the fast flowing stream we braved the elements and were rewarded with the treasure ably assisted by geo-grandson Archie. Amazing what you can find in the bush isn't it. TFTC
An easy find on our way to Kettering to catch the ferry in the morning to Bruny. Thanks.
Once was a bridge... and once was enough for the landlockedsailoress! Gave her a gentle helping hand from behind. as we reached the road. She was UNHAPPY when she measured her length on the road! what was worse, the only thistle in sight made it's presence felt from chin to knees.
I'm sure there's a few square cm's of skin still out there somewhere, too.

Littlest Cyclist and I jumped out of the car in the rain and explored the river banks.
The cache was quickly found and logged.
This was a good excuse to come over Old Station Rd for the first time in my life.
Thanks!

Find number 7 for the 15th day of our trip to Tasmania and the Mega Event. Found at 1150 hrs, find number 188 for the trip so far. This one took a little bit of searching, but it was eventually found in its hidey hole.

It is great when you discover something like this.
I was staying with friends nearby and they had no idea at all about this old bridge that you certainly don't see from the road.
A nice hide with a generous clue.
Thanks

Found by Mary & David at 1330. The old bridge is well hidden away from the present road, and we didn't spot it until we were almost there. What a story it could tell. Our thanks once more to March Brown.
Took awhile to find this 1 as GPS was going here and there!!! Got it after 15 mins and oldest geo found our 3rd for the day. Took springs and left RU OK keyring.T4TC
WARNING: Small snake slid past geodaughter near carpark next to bridge!

Easily found the cache this afternoon - our first cache ever! Have been over the new bridge many times without knowing about the old bridge. Took nothing and left a ladybug.

Quick find, however access was a little difficult because of the large fallen branches and the debris from the last flood. TFTC
Cleaned up and replaced log book.
Please if swaps wont fit easily don't put them in.
Please if swaps wont fit easily don't put them in.
Log book drenched (as well as contents). Debris from past flooding not far below the hiding spot.
Found 11:40 Lovely little creek, at first couldn't decide which side to approach from but we managed. We could not see the cache at all, but someone has left a swap nearby so we left that in place and then guessed which rock to move (we got lucky). WET LOG TNLN
What a great spot. Unfortunately the cache was drenched due to the lid not being on because the swaps didn't fit in the container. We left 2 large swaps out of the container but placed strategically near the cache. Could not sign the log because it was drenched. TNLN TFTC
Last for the day; number ten and 120th overall. Absolutely loved this one. The stone work, the running creek and the sweet smell of the wet bush. Cheers and thanks for the cache and the others throughout the day - OldSaint.
Found this without a hitch. Good tip not to remove any other stones! Was getting dark (4:20pm) so left further caching for another day.
