Thanks inspicio for the reminder that I needed to get into gear and get this sorted.

Decided to archive this cache.

I will be re-listing this as a traditional cache shortly. Just want to do a cache check and update the logbook first then I will submit it as a new cache.

Cheers
Michael.

I enjoyed a great day caching with friends starting with our planed attack on tangles backyard. Stayed around and picked up some of the other nearby caches as we had our pushbikes with us. This one showed us a nice spot to take in the serenity after some miscalculations at first. SLTN..TFTC

As we were out this way and we had the bikes with us this was must do on the list, perfect day for a ride as we just finished doing the Tangles cache, feeling a little battered and scratched but were here. Soon had required info and we were on our way. Arriving at GZ was a beautiful spot, the river down below was making a roaring noise. Hoped over one rocks and CIH before too long, took pictures and did the required duties. TFTC

I didn't realise at first that this was a multi, but as there were other caches on the trail I went ahead and found this one. The walk was a bit longer than I had planned, but after a dnf on the way I'm glad I found this one.

After doing some rainbow spirit caches when I got to GZ I looked up and thought, oh no, I probably need to climb up there. But I didn't. Phew! Nice walk and a nice cache. Thanks!

While heading out to “O’Hares Creek Vistas” I found WP-1 and worked out the co-ordinates for GZ. At GZ with so many hidey holes it took a little time to find the cache, but after completing cache duties it was time to have lunch while enjoying the views and tranquillity of this location TNLN thanks.

Well with the weather on the improve we wanted a little bit of a walk. A scan through what was available turned up an un found cache plus a few other caches on the way

So we headed off to find Fleur Sauvage de Burn Redux, The Bucket of Fun, T N T, and O Hares Creek Vistas

We parked at the suggested gate and headed off down the sealed road until we got to the Way Point for Fleur Sauvage de Burn Redux . We were not sure if the multi would be on the trail of the traditional or not but thought best to grab it just in case. We plugged the numbers in but thought it was in the other direction and then did a double check and found it would be in the general direction we where headed

We did not see and koalas but we did see and hear some big roos hopping around.

We took the side track to The Bucket of Fun and had a light bush bash to GZ where we made a quick find. Always good to make a find of a large cache. Had a laugh of the noise it made and then opened it up. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

T N T was next up the track after we had done the side track to the look out to take in the great views of the river and valley. Once at GZ we made another quick find and had a good laugh at the cache container. With the signing duties completed and the cache replaced we set off again to see if we would be FTF

O Hares Creek Vistas. This is the one that had drawn us to the area. We headed off the track to a rock platform with more great valley views. The GPSr had us in a predictable spot with a choice of levels. After having explored a. number of areas we came up empty handed. We regrouped and confirmed we where in the right area and then looking in a different way made the find. We opened it up and Yeah FTF We signed the log and carefully replaced. TFTC

With the traditionals done we realised the multi (Fleur Sauvage de Burn Redux ), was not too far off and set off again. We arrived at GZ to find a number of potential hiding spots. Our initial look did not turn up anything so we widened the search only to come back to the initial search area where we made a find in a place we had looked already. Nice to find an ammo can in the bush. With the signing duties complete we re hid the cache and made our way back to the car on what was about a 2 hour round trip. TFTC

Thought i`d done the maths right, found a hide at GZ that fitted the clue but no cache to be found. Had some good exercise on the walk in & found 2 other caches along this trail.

Quick stop while doing some night bushwalking in the area. All good.

Took the Geocoin as it has been sitting in this cache for ages.

After tackling Tangles Backyard Chip and I headed over here to see if we could find WP1 on the second attempt. Frustratingly we had it in our hands within seconds... What on earth happened last time!

With the final co-ords in hand we headed off to GZ. A pleasant ride amongst some beautiful flowers; a far more superior experience than Tangles! The cache revealed itself within seconds and then we were back on the bikes. The wildflowers were gorgeous, the terrain pleasant, and the company perfect.

This was a most enjoyable cache and comes highly recommended!

Cheers!

It's true, the flowers didn't seem to realise that it was still winter. They were arriving in full force and the colours were amazing. It was a nice way to end the day after battling to Tangles GZ.
Ground zero at this cache was so peaceful and the river sounded huge from where we were sitting. It must have been the echoes from the hillside magnifying it.
The ride was very pleasant and the company was great. A perfect way to end a weekend.
Dropped off a TB.

Cheers

What a devil of a thing this was to conquerTwisted! If the 1st WP didn't provide enough trouble the slog to GZ made up for it.
Had to ring Webby on WP1 for assistance but still I was about to give up, the coords are out a little but not so far that you could get an accurate fix closer, great views though! Deputy Dog weaved his magic and came up with finds on both WP1 and GZ, left nothing and took nothing good work GPS Thanks for bringing us in here, made the long walk out and was glad to find the seat of the car again[^]! Enjoyed the walk to WP1 (Once we got over another attack of RAG's bush bash madness (BBM)) on well formed trails. Finding WP1 was a bit of a problem even a phone a friend from RAG's din't seem to assist much. Got there in the end and then off to WP2.
I think the clue to follow the track until it starts to disappear and then head left and rejoin the main track I think we either headed left to early or 2 late because we ended up with another really bad case of RAG's BBM this time only a short distance but it was real tuff going.
Eventually got back to the main road/trail and then eventually made our way to GZ ....

We'd spent ages at WP1 and found a superb hiding spot that fitted the clue at GZ (albeit a little close to the edge for comfort). So, we gave up but decided to phone a friend anyway who'd done this cache to see if we had been looking in the right spot.
By this time we were heading back, but after being told that the cache was in a totally safe place we decided to go back for another look. And there it was! Found within seconds. We didn't even search as we ended up stumbling over the hiding spot.
And so it was then off to the final location where we stopped and had lunch. Again, the cache took a while to locate and Mr H at one point stuck his hand on top of a bull ant, which made him swear!
This cache made a great ride on the bikes this afternoon.
Thanks!

I have no excuse to offer here. I simple could not find anything at WP1. I returned to the car with my tail between my legs.

Maybe next time

Don't mean to rub salt into your wound Hoojar but I was out there on Saturday and can confirm that wp1 is fine and in the right spot. Didn't get to check the cache as we didn't go that far out along the fire trail.

Cheers,
Mike.

P.S. Read the clue it is very relevant to the wp1 containers position.

Had no problem finding WP1, the pink ribbon was very clear. What a spectaculair view you have from here! From WP1 I took the old fire trail wich is really extremely overgrown at some points. Last 500 meters to cache I took the other trail wich is much better but less exciting. Searched several "caves` at GZ before finding the goods. Again stunning views from here.

What a lovely view from both WPts and a pleasant walk under blue skies. I know a MTB was suggested but then you miss out on the flowers, animal tracks and bird calls.

I am trying some new rechargables, they are already quite old after having sat in a warehouse for 2 years, so, their longevity is already questionable. I had charged up 2 sets last night, and had already replaced 1 set at WP1 for this cache. So, with a fresh set in, off we set....

I let the oldest of the girls hold the GPS while we walked out to this point, asking her how far we had to go, when we got to 100mtrs away, I asked for the GPS back, it was then I saw the red window that says, RUN, batteries are gunna die!

So I set off at a sprint hoping to get to GZ before it died, I got to within 37mtrs of GZ and the screen faded, CRAP!!

OK, so, that charged set lasted about 30 minutes ;-(

So, with an approximate GZ in my mind, we started poking our heads into every cave we could find, some real nice places to hide stuff here, including an obvious cave with a nice hanging birds nest inside.

But no cache. I tried the batteries once more, hoping for at least 60 seconds of life to narrow the search down, nope, faded again after I got the sat lock. CRAP

Tried the first set, ahh, a bit of life left in em, enough to get a solid GZ. Found the cache easily after that, though, not in an actual cave so to speak.

Grabbed some stuff including the TB, left some stuff.

Nice views from here.

Cheers

This was a good one. With Jamouts. First, a crafty little hide at WP1. Then we found that we had longer before picking up the kids from Dragonskin than we expected so we completed this at a fast clip. I'll leave Jamouts to give his version of the name! Really enjoyed the views from WP1

Cache check down and all is fine.

Did this as a twilight walk and what a pleasurable way to do it. Still plenty of wildflowers to see and the bush along the old firetrail has grown quickly.

Left cache as it got dark and walked back in the dark. Even turned my torch off to enjoy the enveloping darkness. Surprisingly there was more than enough light to follow the trail and only resorted to turning the torch back on briefly as I got within a kilometre of the car. Heard a Powerful Owl (possibly a female) and observed several bats. This is a very good night or twilight ride/walk.

I was headed out this way with the MTB to finish two caches that I had started on foot a few weeks ago.

As I approached the causeway at Wedderburn Gorge, I spotted a familiar character riding his MTB up the hill heading the other way. After a quick chat we decided to meet at the parking spot and complete the ride together.

This was the first cache on the list and we had a bit of a chat as we cruised leisurely along the fire trail. After we dismounted I began the search and quickly annoyed some bull ants. I hadn’t noticed them, but a quick shout from Tangles and I had the pesky creatures removed, except for the one that had its stinger in my nose! I didn’t feel the effects for a minute or so, but then began a sensation that I will not soon forget. (It’s now been 24hrs and my upper jaw still aches a little.)

Once I returned to the search, the cache was located and formalities completed before we continued our ride.

This is a lovely area and I thoroughly enjoyed the ride and the company.

Took Nothing,
Left DVD.

Thanks GammaPiSigma.

Took the whole Rat family for a bike ride today, good to see Mrs rat back on the bike again.
Anywya WP1 seemed to take for ever to find. The overnight and recent rain had done a fantastic job to cover all recent tracks and the hidey hole had all the marks of an undisturbed spot. Anyway we were eventually on our way to GZ, via the other explosive cache out here.
Left the rest of the rats at the last gate before going onto find it myself. I thought I'd had the location only to kneel down right in some very angry bull-ants. Yep yep yep.
Made my swaps before heading back to catch up with the rest of the rodents. Thanks guys.

Well this turned into an unexpected adventure, whilst riding out I noticed a few dark clouds over near the coast. This is often the case so I did not worry too much about them, however as I closed in on the cache a few loud rumbles sounded a bit too close.
As I reached the cache location the cloud came over incredibly fast then a loud “BANG†in the bush only metres from where I was standing got my attention. Then the rain started pelting down with so much force it actually hurt. So after grabbing the cache I made my way to a nearby cave I knew of and sat inside to watch the world exploding outside.
The lighting was crashing all round my location and the thunder was deafening but I was snug in my cave down low so I just watched the unfolding events. Then there was a crash and the sound of water flooding a passage and the next thing I know my dry cave was filling up with water so it was stay and drown or make a break for it and dodge the lighting. After packing all my electronics in a dry bag and rummaging around I found my wet weather jacket I ventured out into the torrential rain.
After returning the cache I made for my bike and set off only to find the trail had turned into a flooding creek. With the water over my feet and unable to see any of the track it was an interesting and very dirty ride. When I finally made it back to the road the rain eased off, typical! I was covered from head to toe in dirt so when I got home I stripped off outside and hosed myself off before heading for the shower.
Took: Coin
Left: Inflatable thing I picked up at Fyshwick during the week.
