I think its time to archive this cache, thanks to everyone that visited this one. We hope you enjoyed the park. We will free up the area for new caches.

Thanks to PhillpA for finding the remains of the cache and hiding it again, it took me two visits to find the cache Big Grin, well hidden Phillp.

Anyway I have collected the cache and will rethink what to do with it. Luckily MikeNZ had picked up the Geocoin the other day.

Thanks to all visitors so far.

Looks like this one is a goner, thanks phillip for reporting its loss. Will have to rethink this cache.

31-Jan-09
Unfortunately found this too easily as it was sitting out in the open and the logbook a few metres away. Put things back together and hid it nearby hopefully close to GZ.

28-Jan-09
Went for a short walk after work and found this cache. GZ is very noisy underfoot at the moment.

Thought it was because the batteries were running low, but it seems the coords were a bit off. Only read the other logs when we got home so obviously we were looking in the wrong place and couldn't find it. It's a really nice park though. Thanks. Will be back.

We walk the dog through this park every day, it was fun to hunt the cache down! Thanks.

07-Jan-09
Just like Butterfly lady, we ended up close to the path despite some great looking trees further away. No luck today. We parked at the top of the park and enjoyed our walk through taking in the sculptures on the way. Out with DinoBird today - visiting from the States.

Super cache.I found it with Kiwiczech together. Thanks.

22-Dec-08
Impressive tree and another amzing Auckland park. Rich & I wandered out after work and enjoyed a walk in the greenery. TFTC

12-Dec-08
Found during an early morning walk from lower Queen St to pick up some more central city caches whilst staying in Auckland. The coordinates had me looking about 15 metres away at first but the likely area was obvious from the hint and I soon moved to it. I groaned inwardly when I saw the number of possibilities for a hide there, but the find was actually less than 5 minutes after starting in the right place. Signed log, TFTC!

23-Nov-08
Must have been an unlucky day for us. WP took us to a very straight tree next to the path....... no hidey holes, no ground holes... check hint. Nothing to match.
But wait, there's three trees up the hill that would make great hiding spots. Checked logs and found a suggestion that cache is 20m West of GZ. We explored. Found a great spot indeed, but some circular delivery person has dumped their loot there sometime ago. Scrapped out heaps of holes, nothing found.
Getting stared at heaps by passerbys.
Eventually decided we will have to return another day. Been here before from another direction, great wee inner city park.

08-Nov-08
One of my favourite inner city parks, quiet, plenty of light, and huge trees. Great playground too. Took a bit of poking around but soon in hand. Dropped off night caching coin. T4TC

Last one on the way back to my bed, very squishy underfoot around here still thanks to the big trees! Cheers Gav [2556]

Quite an easy find.

Took one of the coins, left a glow in the dark star and a dalmatian key ring.

Thanks!

05-Jul-08
Initially searched in the wrong area, then checked the logs which indicated the cache was 20m west of the published co-ordinates. This seemed a much more likely looking site and I was quickly rewarded. Dropped off 2 geocoins. TFTC!

Good cache to kick off geo-caching for me. Good to walk around the park too- had never been there despite now living 10m drive from it! TNLN. TFTH.

A great park in the heart of Auckland, my first of our holidays in this country. Met up with Sunshine Toledo to hit a couple of caches today, with this being the first.

Thanks for the cache and this location...

Our GPS coords jumped about a bit so conducted a grid search on a large area. (with the additional confusion that what you called 'arms' I assumed were 'legs'). I know assumptions are the M.O.A.F.U's. Found eventually. TFTC

First real geocache find, though after accompanying KiwiGary on previous city hunts finding was assisted by knowing types of places to look.

Arms or legs, it is a question. Nice place in the beautiful park.

Had never explored the depths of this park before so didn't realise it was so extensive. Very English feel as mentioned in the cache description due to all those huge old trees. Many thanks Gary.

On holiday from Scotland, and touring Auckland and other places, Good to see this cache, in its nice spot. Found it easily enough, and TNLN thanks.

Some very impressive trees. Interesting to read the sign with the history and original layout of the park. GPSr all good here, got me to the right area then just a matter of checking out where the cache was hiding.

way cool park!
thanks for bringing us here!

wifey rejoiced at finding this all on her own...

it amazes me how different the vegetation in NZ is compared to Canada, this was different than what we'd seen in the south island too.

My workplace is taking part in a 10,000 steps a day challenge. So this seemed like a good lunchtime walk (7,600 steps to be precise).
Ground zero for me was a grassy area deviod of hiding places. Checked the clue and began a methodical search of likely features. After a good 10 minutes of thorough searching the cache was found.
For the benefit of future searchers, the cache is about 20 metres to the west of the coordinates.

Thanks for the cache!

Just a quick check for new caches in the evening. Oops, 3km from home. And off we went into the darkness. The GPSr fooled us a while at which giant to search, but Rala stuck to her favourite candidate and was rewarded. FTF at 11:11pm.
