Since the owner of the cache hasn't contacted me, I'm reluctantly archiving this cache. If the owner wants to reinstate this cache, they should contact the reviewer that first published the cache.

Went to check on the cache following reports of it being unfound and potentially missing. Indeed it was gone. Gutted! Seems our sneaky hiding place was no match for the vicious easterly storms that had obviously battered this coast. We hope to replace the cache but move it to a more robust location.

Hunted high and low but couldn't locate the cache. There is alot of subsidence and evidence of water flowing down there do suspect it is missing or buried.

Nice walk on a lovely day (even managed to get a bit sunburnt on a winters day!!) but we hunted high and low at GZ but could not find a cache, Area looks like it had a river flow right through GZ, I feel the cache may have become a casualty

An amazing winters day on Pakiri Beach with Pooke & Grobyc. Disapointing not to find the cache after the walk but still an enjoyable time.

Finally made it back out to do some First Aid on the cache and replace the cache container. Amazingly everything had survived the time in a plastic bag and it was still hidden safe and sound. The container is now a 500ml screw lid container wrapped in black plastic. Lovely walk along the beach again today and now realise that we may have underestimated the time it takes to get out there! Allow 40-50 mins each way if you walk in a more relaxed manner than we do!! Smile

Found this cache on 23/3/08. The camo container is missing an all that is left are the cache contents in a plastic bag. There is a note in log explaining that cache was accidently found by children and damage done.

My first attempt was a bit optimistic - having a go at 1 hour before spring tide with a good easterly swell, the route was closed at GZ - 700m. Arghh! Went away to find a few more caches and came back 3 hours later, with better luck. So a good 12km walk for me today!
Found a blue penguin nesting behind the cutty grass - so don't search that, there's no need. I found the cache in a much 'friendlier' location.

Found at 11.35 on Saturday the 19th Jan. We hadn't been to Pakiri for quite a few years and thoroughly enjoyed getting reacquainted with the beach on this walk. the cache was well hidden but we found it easily, and have taken the Generic Geocoin to move it on.

12:05 Great walk along the beach with Kiwi Tulip and my two nieces. It's a great spot and we all enjoyed it thanks for bringing us here.

Hmmm saw a camp site as well here, might have to come here with tent sometime soon.

It was sad to see thee dead pengiuns on the beach. The tide was a little high to use the "cherry on the top".

After the walk we all had some ice creams at the handy beach store. Thanks for the cache.

Took: Spidey TB and Pink Putt-Putt; Car of Chaos (Both Still In the hands of Jon & Pepsi, will give them a week then grab)
Left: Generic Geocoin

A lovely walk along the beach - as described. We LOVED the thought of the 'bonus' but tide was way too high for us...!
Left Spidey TB to continue his adventures here and Mini Pink Putt Putt TB to start is journey towards Oz.

What a stunning summery day to undertake some maintenance on our cache. The sea was shimmering, the sand sparkling and the cache was as it should be. Inspiration to get back out and find some more after a few weeks off. Congratulations and thanks to Tramper Ted on the FTF! Smile

Came to this one as TT was well north of home doing others in the region. GPS reading 3km to GZ along the beach with the tide going out. 1.5 hrs return to a super location. Have kept the co-ords for the Mussels as the tide was to full. Under the gaze of local muggles (fishing) but hopefully to far away to see.
Thanks for the cache.
PS Also a FTF - first of three for the day. Where were the FTFers ? - getting soft !
