Well, that's interesting, it wasn't there. Stopped off on the way through after visiting the toilets - haven't been to the historic part of Oamaru for years and it really has been gussied up. Read the information board twice, walked around flicking a quick glance down behind a possible hide, but the woman on the opposite corner and the people looking at the bike shop next door still didn't move away. Sunday afternoon is not the best time to try to cache here. Really must plan a weekend or ten here soon!
Had already visited this one with a school geocaching trip but when I took male Heafudd for him to try and find today, it wasn't there.
This one had us stumped. Just pasing thru, any chance you can email us the exact location as we won't be back & its driving us nuts !
As the reason we came to NZ was to celebrate Clare's Birthday we were being taken out for a meal (and a very good one it was) so came a little early and did a little caching.
Well took for ever to find but we got there (too many muggles)

Really intrigued by this one. I failed to find it in July and failed again today. Will be back for round three!
My favourite "Cache" for the day. Was searching in the obvious spot, then realised it was a micro. Tricky placement, TFTC!
quick find, last 3 (idiot) finders have managed to use nearly half the log sheet.Nice hide.
Unfortunately another one with "no luck today" but I do not give up and I love a challenge.
Three of us hunted for a while on our way to see the penguins and just couldn't find it!
There were so many muggles about early in the day, so had to stop back on dark. TFTC
Unfortunately we went on a shopping tour after finding the cache. Now we would have something to declare! TFTC
Our 3rd DNF in a row here on a wet black friday!! We're giving up and heading back to Chch.
We finished our Ploughman's Lunch next door and felt the need to cache! This did the trick! Time for a new log?
#526
Found it easily but logging is almost impossible as the log book is full. We managed to scribble our name & date in the margin The whisky next door is great!

Found this early thismorning, couldn't sign the log though because there isn't a bit of space left.

I guess this was the quickest find of a nano I ever had. Took around 3 seconds to find, 1 minute to log and 5 minutes to roll up the logbook again.
P.S. The logbook is really full.

On the way to Oamaru for Bitsprayers Wherigo cache Lanes Emulsion http://coord.info/GC21PX3 so stopped and did some treasure hunting on the way. Couldn't find this one though, guess we wouldn't make good Customs inspectors!!

Searched for ages on our first visit last year (as we were looking for something larger). Took only a few seconds to find it this time. The log sheet was totally full, so we tried to find a blank spot somewhere to squeeze our initals in. Very glad to finally nail this one. Nice hide. Thanks Bitsprayer for the cache.
Stopped here in the drizzle and explored all the markets nearby and the galleries and shops.. Found this well hidden cache whilst waiting for the ladies to finish their visit.. Thanks for the cache...
Found after two or three minutes of searching the likely spots. Logstrip needs replacing, it is completely full. I managed with some difficulty to find a spot to enter my details, hope it's actually legible. Interesting spot in a nice old part of town. Thanks for the cache and for bringing me here
Flicked it out of its hide then lost it on the ground. Oh woe, stooped pretending to tie our shoe laces until we found it. Log full only squeezed in GT as a signature.
Found on second attempt, late at night, surrounded by penguins. Awesome. TFTC!!!
Busy place next door. Log book is full.
Great spot. TFTC.
Caching day out with WallyOne,Mollymop and Birdflu.

Quick found during our short visit in Oamaru. TFTC and greetings from germany. Aljha
At last! This would be the 3rd visit to Oamaru in which I have sought this cache. Even so, I almost missed it again today. Very clever hide. I had to write my name over that of someone else as the strip of paper is in need of replacement. The most time consuming thing today was re-rolling the paper strip - I just don't know how others with fat fingers or arthritus manage that task.
Had kids with us - so concentration span waned. Not found ... but footpath recently re-sealed, so we did wonder????
Sneaky little fella it took me three visits. Got rained off first. Got friends and hunted high and low with no success. Finally sorted tonight with no one about. Nanos are tough.
Very cunning! My first one of these. Took two attempts! No space left on the log sheet. TFTC.

#1342 (8/25 on a day in Oamaru). Another DNF from February, but quickly found this time round, TFTC.
Much easier now that we knew we were looking for a nano. I'm pretty that this was the logbook with no space left - so our initials may be illegible. TFTC.
Another nano to declare. Great restored area to stroll around, visit art gallery too.
*NEW LOG NEEDED* Had a look earlier today with no luck. Went back and found the little fellow! SL TFTC
1400hrs Cunning micro, getting used to finding these, good. The Italian Job was here......! Our blog www.motorhominginxs.blogspot.com
Interesting old area. Couldn't retrieve first time, because of muggles looking at a penny farthing bike at the shop next door. Went back later and found easily. TFTC
Hmmm, after reading past logs, it looks like we should have been looking for something smaller....another one for next visit.
Since we live in Wandsbek (which is a part of Hamburg) we were surprised to find a Wansbeck Street at the other side of the world. So much that we decided to try to find a cache here. Which is not easy, considering it's sice.
Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for the cache!
In our hometown Hamburg we live in the urban area called "Wandsbek". And nearby, there is a street called "Wandsbeker Chaussee"; compared to NZ´s roads quite a big street .
We were very surprised to find a street in Oamaru that is called Wansbeck St!
It was obviously that we_had_to do this cache...
TFTC #705 (my 163rd cache with lemonCurd in New Zealand ).
Many greetings from Hamburg, Germany.

Yes indeed, that is one tiny cache. In town for the evening, went to the Whisky Bar on a Saturday night, only to find it closed, but alas, a cache was nearby.
Quick find by Paua, ...it jumped out at me. Love these old buildings. TFTC.
