Out and about in the wheatbelt picking up caches along the way.TFTC ZED! this is find #16283 for us.
Headed out for a wheatbelt trip with B12, L177 and Geotrakka. Managed a fair few KMs on day one and ended up in Mollerin Rock to camp. Thanks to all the COs for the placement of caches for our enjoyment TFTH, cache in good order, always good to get an archived cache.
The Cockburn Crew teamed up with Geotrakka for an overnighter in the Wheatbelt, staying at Mollerin Rock near Koorda. We started early from Northam and hit up a large swath of caches in the southern half of the Wheatbelt before venturing north towards our overnight camping spot.A huge day and plenty of logs signed. Thanks to the COs for the great day out.
Headed out to the Wheatbelt for a night of camping with B12, C10 and Geotrakka. Rolled out of Perth nice and early with the intention of cleaning up caches south of the Great Eastern Highway, before changing direction and pushing north and west towards Koorda. Love spending time out in the Wheatbelt, perfect day for it too! What a ripper spot! B12 hit us up about knocking off an archived cache north of Kununoppin. We shot out along the track from the Cemetery and eventually spotted the turn off track into the cache. Incredible rock and historic well. Would not have known about it if it wasnt for the cache. Shame it isnt listed anymore, but well sort something out. Cache was in good condition. Cheers ZED!!
Beautiful wildflowers out on a wet day. So happy to find this forgotten cache in perfect condition. This was a beautiful spot.
Fantastic to find an archived cache in perfect condition!
This weekend has been some time in the planning and we were heading up this way to drive the Wheatbelt Way Trail and collect geocaches along the route. We also had GCA caches, Waymarks and Sighters on the radar which should break up the trip nicely. We had no set plans for accommodation and we decided that we would see where we ended up each day to set up camp. This cache was one that we targeted on our mini adventure. Cheers and TFTC.

Found cache whilst out travelling the Wheatbelt Way. Took a few minutes to find due to the shear number of rocks around! TFTC Zed - lovely off the beaton track area to explore.
Awesome Cache and awesome place.
Thank you so much, would never have known about this place, without your cache.

Another fast find!! Lovely rocky outcrop with lots of interesting colours!! TFTC!!
Spending a Saturday doing a loop through the central wheatbelt. Picked up this one this afternoon at 15:20. What a weird sight, this huge quartz outcropping in the middle of nowhere. "Hidden behind some rocks" you say, there must be a million rocks there. Thank heavens for GPS. TNLNSL TFTC
A great location and thanks for the history lesson. We made a detour to find this cache after reading the interesting description. Thanks Zed
An amazing rock.. How did you find this spot? But glad you did.. Quick find. TFTH
Our mission today was to rescue some Geocaching.com.au moveables that had been stranded out in the Wheatbelt for the last month.
Managed to fit in some traditionals as we made our way around.
40 degrees out here so no camping for us fraidy cats. Will be overnight in a local pub who know's where?
As we made our way here Mr Felix noticed that the difficulty and terrain were higher than others we had been hunting, he asked have you read this cache page, maybe we don't want to do it in 40+ degrees.
Theres a GCA moveable at the cache we are going no matter what
Well parked the Geo Cruiser under a tree and we both climbed so far. Mr Felix was left to go on the last 40metres but had success! Woo Hoo GCA moveable, cache and a TB. A trifecta.
Great work all around.

What a fantastic piece of history, we have done quite a bit of prospecting out from Mt Magnet but this is the first time that we have heard the story of how it all started. the area itself is quite scenic which only added to the enjoyment of he cache. We have to say that the orb weavers in this part of the country certainly build strong webs. One even pulled my hat off on the way to gz which didn't make me or the owner of the web very happy at all. The cache was located exactly where the GPSr said that it was going to be and the well hidden cache was soon in hand
Thanks again ZED! for the cache and the history

I bet we are not the only ones to peer intently at every piece of stone on the way up to the cache are we.
Come on.....its possible that a nice big golden nugget might just be sitting there isnt it?
Anyway...great spot for a cache, a nice easy find too.
TNLNSL..Many thanks for bringing us here.

What a protrusion (nearly used a different word but thought better of it ). Great spot and an enjoyable cache. Couldn't resist taking a photo. Thanks nobodyZ
There's water in this well. Interesting rock formation. Found the cache without any problems.
Thanks NobodyZ
Thanks NobodyZ
The things you discover around the countryside when seeking geocaches! Interesting history and geology (the quartz structure).
Thanks for leading us through the country where everyone was busy putting in crops, to this interesting spot.
Found this with Konggirls.

Another fascinating piece of history. We have learnt a lot about our pioneering forefathers this weekend and take our hats off to them.Took tissues, left hairclips TFTH
We love these sorts of caches. It makes you feel like part of the history. wouldnt you like to be a fly on the wall to watch all those past parts of gold discovery in Western Australia. In those days this would have been a very remote part of the country and the pioneers tough people to even consider venturing out to look loof for a better life.
Lots of widlife...we spotted a mother and joey hopping away from us.
Took the stretch toy and added another one of our reversible screwdrivers
Thanks for the drive

We found this to be a very interesting location as the original Glass Homestead is the very home that an elderly local we met at Mangowine Springs once lived. If we remember correctly she told us that her grandfather was the man who found that 1st. nugget. Thanx one again nobodyZ.

I did post a disclaimer first date changed.
Born Feb, 1851 makes Jane 17.75 years on her wedding day in November 1868.
Born Feb, 1851 makes Jane 17.75 years on her wedding day in November 1868.
Found this site interesting i think the water in the well was the only gold found in this spot which is worth more than the $60 i left just wondering about the date when jane got married 1862? as it would make her about 12
anyway thanks nobodyz for the cache
cheers and beers

Third cache for the day on a 350 Km run. Very interesting spot, the rock almost qualifies as a mini Chambers Pillar.

Rated: for Overall Experience
Another new one of NobodyZ's excellent cache series. Thanks for narrating the interesting historical early settlers and the gold nugget. White quartz looks like a face of man on the right side. Thanks to NobodyZ for bringing us to the interesting location and the cache.
