I took the car off road today and followed a few tracks. I got a bit nervous as I got closer to GZ because of all the rain we have had over the last few days and the tracks became narrower and rockier, and not having a 4WD I got out and hoofed it. I wasn't too far from the cache and I'm sure there were other tracks that I could have used to get closer.... but the walk was nice. Good sized cache kinda well hidden out in the open. TFTC.
Having to organise my caching around tourist things to do for a few days. Must have missed my turn off but soon came back and found a good dirt track to follow. Very short walk to GZ for a quick find. Left two YOF pathtags. TFTC
Following the lead of a previous finder, we drove into the deserted complex and parked close to gz. Made a quick find. Thanks gibbo003.
Drove in from complex and parked within 50mtrs to make a quick find. Left a couple of TB. TFTC.
Tried to get this one a couple of weeks ago but my GPS took me to the Tiger Brennan Drive side of the cache and I overshot so had to come back and try again another day. This time I approached from the direction of the Hidden Valley Raceway and found my way in from there.
Once at GZ it was a nice easy find.

Spending time in Darwin to do some caching, relaxing and maybe some fishing.
Wasn't totally sure on how to get to this one, so decided to walk up the hill from the main road, as there was good parking.
Cache was a nice big container and was found easily.
Thanks for the cache, gibbo003.

Today route we had planned was for caches south of Tiger Brennan Drive. This took us from the ocean, a race track & into Charles Darwin National Park.
The most difficult part of this cache was locating the road to GZ

Tried to do something for my Birthday, so I found this little beuty. a good cache, left a Dominate!
Whoo! Jordi's first find! Took us out bush on a dirt track! Good find, lots of space for swaps.
Think I took the hard path but found it easily enough. Looked like it had been muggled so fixed it up with new log. Tftc
Just checking my cahe finds and forgot to log this one. Found late last year with the Newscat.

Another one on the 'Sleepless in Darwin' cache hunt.
Check satellite map for best access track - and remember which way you came in so you find your way back out
Should be renamed 'Sandfly Heaven'!
Probably an easy find - in daylight. Almost impossible at night without a proper torch.
Was about to give up when I literally stumbled over it.

WanderingAus wandered by on day 53 of our annual Climatic Refugee trip, after dropping the WanderingMrs at Coconut Grove Senior Citizens Club for a couple of hours of line dancing, I headed off for a couple of hours of waymarking and caching.
I had some trackables ready to drop, and I knew this cache had a trackable in it, so I swung by to grab Texas or Bust TB (TB2HP1P), and dropped Kamballa TB (TBAE03), DeLorean TB (TB4KJRR) and One World One Promise (TB4DX5R). I also dropped a few other travellers in for a visit before grabbing them back again.
The ziplock bag was full of holes, so I dropped in a new bag, which should last a year or two.

Nice drive in the back way, all the way up to a few meters from the cache (just lucky no motorbikes were zooming around at the time).
Much better than parking on the main road and slogging up.

Having solved and found the mystery nearby we spotted these 2 Hidden Valley caches.
A short drive and we arrived at Go Kart Gully. We parked with 10m of GZ but could not see anything. We expanded the search and still nothing and then started looking for something smaller only to re check the size, take a step back and then we spotted the cheeky hide. Nicely done. We completed the signing duties and replaced. TFTC
We wondered about the best way to Hidden Valley. In the end we went down the main road and found a park 160m from the cache and made our way up a rough track to find the old wreck of a hotted up car and lots of tyres. A little further back we found a solid cache container. We signed the log and re hid. TFTC.

Found ok,but getting out was a problem. Gate was locked and going back the way we came in there is a sign that says wrong way..go back!TFTC
1830 Lots of evidence of people partying here. Bottles galore; and when I went back to Go Kart Gully I was surprised at the number of cars heading off into the bush in this direction.

Found on the way home from work along with the nearby Go Kart Gully. Lots of little goodies in here at the moment but didn't take anything today. TFTC
Found at 11.55am GAFF1. We weren't going to do this cache as we saw some earth works along the Tiger something road where we thought the cache was. However after doing Hidden Valley we thought - why not just go and check out what is going on. And to our pleasant surprise we found some interesting tracks leading to the cache.
Thanks gibbo003 - we love these type of caches.

WanderingAus wandered by on day 68 of our annual Climatic Refugee trip, after dropping the WanderingMrs (aka SWMBO) at the stop for the free Casino Bus I had almost 6 hours of caching time available.
I knew this cache had travellers logged in, so I decided to swing by, pick up anything there, make passports for them, then move them on.
There was only one traveller there, so I grabbed Amber's Gone to the Dogs Geocoin (ref = TB2MRAG), dropped Do chuairteoiri GC (ref = TB4272N) and FORD TB (ref = TB14V2H), also dropped my WanderingAus Happy New Year 2008 Gold GC and my WanderingAus GeoMobile TB in for a visit before grabbing them back again.
Kindness Coin (ref = TB425WY) was placed in Hidden Valley on 11 June 2011 11 Jumpedin2it who wrote "... Dropped off the Kindness Coin TB ...". On 27 June 2011 saintsmadhouse wrote "... No trackable in here today ...".
A month has gone, still no logs for it, I think it's time for the coin owner to mark it as missing.
There was a pencil sharpener in the cache, but no pencils, and the log book bag was open at the bottom, so I left two new pencils and replaced the ziplock bag.

Happy to finally cross this one off my list after a couple of attempts ... Fairly easy find today with geo husband ... Thanks gibbo
Fortunately we had spent the night in the open area near speedway so we were well on the easy way to the cache, the trail bike tracks and a recent fire made it even easier, the bit of bitumen and the speed sign on small hile seems quite bizzare . TN left glo sheep for those with double vision to count themselves to sleep. TFTC
How easy does a cache get to find, particularly after a fire had gone through only a couple of weeks ago, thought that I had found a shooters target. took lobster and left Tooheys keyring bottle opener. TFTC
Found by Geokid. No trackable in here today. We left a trackable safety whistle and fixed up the wet cache, now dry. TFTC SL.
Marco is in Darwin for work, so I flew up for the long weekend so we could find some Darwin caches. We had a nice walk up the hill and spotted the hiding place from a fair way away. Dropped off the Kindness Coin TB and picked up the Which Foot TB and signed the log. TFTC
A pleasant stroll up the hill to find something I didn't expect... Yes, I expected a cache, but not the surrounds...
Cheers gibbo003.

Having no local knowledge I parked on the side of the main road and took a short walk to GZ and after incorrectly assuming what the hide would be the cache was in hand soon after. TFTC gibbo003. [749]

Came up here to find this cache as I watched the V8 supercars last year here and didn't know there was a cache here. Out of teh way spot with plenty of tracks to mislead you. TN left Three Sisters Blue Mountains coin TFTC Gobbo003.
We had great fun driving around all the tracks! Had to be careful not to get muggles by some dirt bike riders!

So many tracks, but what a fun place to drive around! I realised (too late) that I should have marked the way in, as I took the wrong track to get out again. but as it turned out, I made a quicker exit to the main road than expected. The cache was easily found, and road access was good. I'd run out of swaps, so just signed log.
Thanks for all your caches that I've found!

Took Army man toy, left a holden racecar. then saw the car tracks that would have been easier on the legs. TFTF

I found this one with jamo-jr, his sister and rockydiva out on my last caching day in Darwin before moving to Jabiru.
We had rockydiva's corolla and she wasn't quite game to drive it through the puddles. Four legged friend 'Ferrari' enjoyed the walk in. jamo-jr had the bright idea to run the last couple of hundred metres... even the dog was knackered at the end of it. It was hot!
I took scenic router's piston travel bug as per his request in an earlier log and will snail mail it back to him.
Cache was sitting out in the open so we hid it a little better in the same location before we left.
Logged a bit late due to the move.

Was all excited when geofriend reasonjo suggested this one, which is down a 2WD track. However, forgot that it is the wet season. Could only take the car about half way down the track (I was too scared that I would get it bogged) and walked the rest of the way.
Cache not hidden well, so with reasonjo, we hid the cache in the same location a little better.

This is one attraction in Darwin we have not visited, we have heard the place in action but never made it here. There was some activity in the grounds today as we drove past trying to find the correct way to GZ. Once there searching was made easy as a fire had been through so we just followed the GPSr directly to GZ and another nice easy find as the traffic rushed by not far away. We took the coin

It's so cool, nice hide.
Probably shouldn't have driven the hire car down this track.
What am I saying of course I should have. LOL
The terrain is very different from Adelaide.
I already hate these green ants. Ouch.
