Sorry, but due to imminent construction work we will have to remove this cache to a safe spot. We will rehide it once groundwork is complete. (Sadly, due to coming holiday period, it could be some time before a safe hide is available at this corner)
Quick check on Mr Nalawod's morning run, and sadly it is not in place. Will have to organise another container and replace.
Logged it with DroidCachebox!
We visited this cache during our trip through out New Zealand!
With our rental car, we explored the north island for 12 days.
NZ is a beautiful country and we really enjoyed our time here.
We hope to return one day and explore a little bit more!
Day 9 - Pahia to Awanui
After two rainy days, today the weather was finally sunny, and that was great, this way we were able to enjoy the beauty of this area. We had a great time today and found a bunch of caches!
This one we didn't find -
Thanks for the cache.

#10965. Parking was tricky, so Troodles dropped me off and then looked for somewhere to turn round. TFTC.
Our last full day in Doubtless Bay, so we decided to have a quiet time, not straying too far from home base. Spent the earlier part of the morning investigating options for replacing my broken Oregon , then headed out late morning to find a cache or three. It was tough for me without a GPSr, and having to rely on StreetWalker for cache info, etc.
Another great view point and another quick find. I spotted and SW retrieved. TFTC.

Not the most "obvious hide" for me, as there were several other likely candidates in the area, but I found it in the end. It is not a one star cache in either difficulty or terrain, and they should both be corrected, especially the one star terrain rating, which means it is accessible to someone in a wheelchair. Really! You believe a person in a wheelchair could go up that dirt embankment? Not likely!
But TFTC nalawod. It's a good place for a cache; it just needs the ratings corrected; especially the terrain. It would not be fair to a handicapped person to come here thinking your cache was accessible to them, when it isn't.

On a mission this weekend with Cats&Dragons, with a the main goals of reaching Cape Reinga to find the Virtual caches up there and the 35 and 36 degree South challenges, plus with anything else in between. We had a great time touring around Northland, and it is a pretty spectacular place. Being from Southern Northland, it has reminded me that I need to visit this place more.
The initial plan was to head up the west coast and on to Ninety Mile Beach (which was a huge highlight of the trip) and then down the east coast, but the plan was flexible depending on progress. We mostly achieved our ambitious plan, but due to time restraints had to cut back a bit from the planned list. If we had another day I think we would of achieved most of what we had planned.
Some of the figures for the trip were, 1600km's travelled in a 48 hour period, 37 hours of caching, 4 hours of sleep, and 7 hours driving up from Hamilton and back, with a total of 176 caches found!!
Thanks to all the CO's for placing these caches and showing us around Northland.
A little confused about this one for a while. Was just starting to think we will have to leave it, as I spotted a likely place, followed by locating the cache.

This weekends little adventure was in the company of HKCB (as we'd both been given leave passes by our respective partners) so off we set.
The primary goals this weekend were to collect as many of the earthcaches as time would allow, the two virtuals, and complete both the requirements for the S35 & S36 challenges. Mind you this did not stop us working to collect anything else that we could find as time allowed.
It was a great trip with the weather playing its part so that we saw a great variety of countryside between caches and far too little sleep.
The result was 1600kms (over 48 hours), 189 caches (35 hours caching) & 4 hours sleep, not bad for a couple of beginners. Thanks to all the CO's and those that maintain the caches for us to collect on our too brief tour of the north.
Having finished our morning adventure up the beach and to the lighthouse it was now time to travel back down the Tombolo to see what we could grab. Now its fully dark time so will be interesting to see how long we last as the previous night we only got 1.5hours sleep
Thanks for the placement

After spending yesterday caching around the Far North, today yorkshirekiwi83 and I made our way from Kaitaia back to Auckland via Doubtless Bay and Paihia, stopping for many caches along the way. A quick find in the rain, with a nice view. TFTC!

I am unashamadley after numbers at the moment so a trip to Northland with Vistra was planned, Saturday up to the Cape staying in Kaitaia then heading to Paihia for a late lunch event.
Popped up the hill and parked in the drive, and explored a nearby oobject to no joy, headed down the hill a bit and spotted a likely hiding spot, this time it was correct. TFTC

3 quick drive by's after our outing around the headland between Taipa & Cable Bay. You certainly get great views from up on the hill. TFTC
Took a while to find the most obvious spot.... Once we figured that out it was a nice easy find. Great views up here
Quick check for the holidays, and to drop off TB Conquered Tags so it can continue on its world trip.
A quick find as we made our way back into town and closer towards some dinner!
Great views.

A muggle in her garden opposite. Our last cache of the year for 2013. Where has the year gone?
Found after little search. Don't think the terrain rating is right, I really can't see a wheelchair bound person getting up the embankment to the cache.

Found as part of my Post Mega northen road trip. Really enjoyed a part of the country I hadn't seen before. Thanks to all those who have placed cacahes to encourage us southerners to come your way!
Been here 5years ago. Found cache with Moneydork, Rediguana and Bladesedge. TFTC
On a quick afternoon cache hunt with 10cc junior. This was find number two . TFTC

Yep it was a great view on a lovely sunny and warm winters day -Tftc and the wee detour

Had to fight Marks 40th birthday guests for a carpark to collect this cache. He must have been having quite a birthday, unless everyone drove a car each! Thanks for the cache placement.

We are on our second caching holiday in New Zealand. However, two days ago Marco had a fall and is now on crutches, so we are limited to caches that don’t require much walking and easy terrain. We parked close by this one and followed the GPS towards GZ. Marco pointed out where he thought the cache might be hidden and sent me to look – he might have a sore ankle but his geocaching radar was spot on! We dropped off the Lamp TB and signed the log. TFTC
NZ11. A nice bit of height gained quickly gave this spot the advertised view. Thanks.

Fitzy and I are visiting New Zealand for a week to do some caching and have a look around.
This was our eighth cache on day four of our adventure.
We thought this was going to be harder, but as usual fitzy turns everything into a drive by!

We were mislead by the terrain rating, until we read some previous logs and discovered this was not valid. We eventually tracked it down, with our coordinates being S34 59.921 E1763 28.347. TFTC
Great view indeed. Not quite a T1 though - you'd have a hard time getting a wheelchair in/up there. Another good stop to stretch the legs on the way up to the Cape. TFTC!!!
Nice spot, had to come back as neighbour was gardening on first pass.

We were traveling to Kerikeri and passed the cache, which was difficult to locate on the right coordinates. After some searching and reading the glue we found the cache. TFTC.
