I headed up the coast with a plan to grab a few caches that have the off road attribute. I was prepared to head up as far as Gympie for a nice day to just drive around and check out some areas I have not seen in a while. However, at my first cache I noticed a couple of common signatures and with todays date, really? The next cache was the same, am I chasing these fellow cachers? So I made a call and it turns out we have the same goal and a few common caches in mind. A plan was hatched and we got to catch up for a little driving adventure and few caches along the way. With the day still having a few hours left, the others went off to collect more of their target caches. I headed on my own trails and saw others further a field that I could get, plus a few as I passed. I signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks for bringing me here.
We are in the area for the Magic Maker Event on Kenilworth Bluff and used the day before to get out here.
We noticed the DNFs, and searched for quite a while, but with no success.
To keep this cache alive and to assist Sweet-Sour who adopted the oldie, we replaced today the missing container by a pillbox. We sent a photo to Sweet-Sour.
Tftc and the adoption!

No luck here today. Search in every conceivable place without success. That is probably why there is so much unloved on this cache.
Out for a quick few caches with Stortigirls, she volunteered for the climb (phew) and was quickly rewarded. Tftc.
Out and about with Mrs B5 today exploring the area and collecting a few smilies. This green box was next on our map, so we pulled over at the designated parking spot and looked up to see where we were headed. I decided to put my hand up for the climb, not the easiest in the world wearing thongs but I soon made my way up and turned around to see the container looking at me. I took the TB to continue its journey and added our names to the log. Tftc sweet-sour
Think Cleo may have rolled down the hill as she was beside the road. Have placed it up the hill slightly close to the found location. Hope it was close enough to the original spot
Out with Dora the Explorer! collecting a few caches she wanted to target. This was one of the target caches. It was quickly located and our names added to the log and before we continued on our way. TFTC
Quick and easy find with Selva Girls. Beautiful area, decided to take out the new Mahindra for a drive heading towards my targeted caches, Cleo and Post and Rails. Enjoyed the creek crossings and seeing all the cows lazing about. Travelled the eastern route.
Found with a little scramble. All good with this cache. Thanks for placing it here.
Found this a while back but forgot to log. Found with barbbowman slammer and fasted 59
Out and about today with my amazing GeoWife KaleidoscopeCass in the Imbil area. Decided to go for a looky here and a looky there.. and this was one of a few that resulted in a smiley.. TFTC! And all is good with Cleo... beautiful spot in an area with lots of fond memories.
WOWEEEEEE!!!! I couldn't believe our luck when geohubby WallabyTim and I found this cache that had been untouched for two years!!! I always had a goal to find one over one year - guess I nailed that aim! Absolutely loved driving through this area today. Gorgeous country, so peaceful and quiet, great for the soul
What a beautiful but steep drive along to this one, managed to park on an ants nest with huge ants. Not sure what was going on today but we were driving in the opposite direction to dozens of fast 4 wheel drive enthusiasts which made for a dusty day!! All good with the cache, signed and returned to its hide. TFTC Sweet-Sour

Sunrday. Slow Puncture met at Kilcoy early this morning with some other intrepids from the Northside Puzzle Group to nab some higher terrain and difficulty caches.
After doing Post and Rails, we continued our journey to find this one. Again, we stopped in the middle of nowhere, and on this occasion, Kerry and Sam clambered up the side of a loose incline. Kerry was standing right next to it looking upwards, whils all of the less energetic of us were shouting at her, trying to convince her that if she only look down near her knee, there was something suspicious right there.
It turned out to be the container! All signed and returned.
This was the 3rd of 11 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***Sweet-Sour***, for showing us this place.

Well, what can I say about the old hide, the stump that was home to Cleo's boat has been gutted, and the Fig Tree that was growing from within the stump is now dead, the surrounding country side that was pristine is now full of groundsel, yuk.
I decided that Cleo needed a new home. I remember a spot that over looked a running creek, now just have to find a hide.
Found a new hide, Cleo's view from here is much further than inside a stump and much more rewarding. I think everyone will [^]
The old ammo box is for the scrap bin, a new log book and a 1lt honey jar is Cleo's new home.
Have moved Cleo from S26* 30.563' E152* 29.914' to S26* 29.908' E152* 30.930' a distance of 2076.7m
Please be careful climbing to Cleo's new home, the rock is very unstable and can crumble easily.
Please replace as found and BYO pen.

Due to a fire in the fig tree, could the next finder please replace the log book, as it will be some time before I can get out that way.

Couldn't manage to get the container open to sign the log as it was well and truly rusted shut. Not even two of us together could pull it open. Took photo to prove my visit. TFTC
Found with goldielover. Cooked very well. Pretty hard to sign ash or to use a slightly melted pen. The container is still in reasonable condition but will need some lubricant on the hinges soon.
Great views on a great day.
Great views on a great day.
A fire has gone through the tree. The ammo tin survived but the contents did not.
#1949. A great spot to stop and just take in the vista, with the bonus of a cache. I managed to retrieve, sign & replace at 10:30am, while the others birded across the paddock.
Figs? gumtrees and lantana was all I found. ( I don't like figs anyway )

This was the end of the road for us. The road had been good with only a couple of slippery bits but we decided to return to camp. Was a great drive with loverly scenery. Next time we will go when it's dry and get the other cache that is still out furthur. Cache was a surprise and all good. Muggles shouldn't be a problem out here. TFTCSL

I was with Nyssaflutterby and membsec headed along this road grabbing the caches, heading in from the east over a couple of shallow creek crossings. As we came out over the last ridge the view was amazing. One could see for miles of bright green fields among the forest, a brilliant sight for sure. A little further driving saw us near this one and I remember several species of birds around, definitely some quails which we startled as we walked through the long grass. With 4 sets of eyes the cache was found quickly and a great cache as to be expect by the cooroy scouts. As noted Mother Nature hasn't been super kind to the outside of the container, but the broken bits inside all match up and you get the idea. A great cache in a superb location, TFTC cooroyscouts and sweet - sour
Found with membsec and Captain Terror on a lazy Sunday caching drive home from yesterdays forest challenge. I certainly had fun driving the monster truck through the two creeks to find this cache, not something I have done before! Sir membsec found the cache in no time at all. What a shame the original top of the cache has been damaged.

Camping nearby for the Forest Challenge Event over the week-end.
mr_fy, ac16220a, a muggle (at the moment ) and myself went for drive this morning to find a couple more caches in the area.
An interesting and scenic drive along this road.
What a fantastic place for a hide.
All dry inside.
Thanks for the cache.

This cache was part of our post- Forest Challenge caching today. Nyssaflutterby, Captain Terror and ourselves completed an epic day of caching with some great views, brilliant 4WD driving and great company - a most enjoyable day. Great spot.

I was out and about in the area and decided to grab this one.
Getting to GZ was a bit dubious due to a couple of water crossing - but it was nothing the Pajero could not handle. Of course, I now had wet shoes because I "walked" the river before driving in it!
I pulled up at GZ and made my way to a likely hiding area. It took me two passes before I spotted the beast (a bit embarrassing for a regular sized cache!) A handsome container it is indeed. Though the decoration has suffered at the hands of Father Time, the interior of the cache is in excellent condition.

Geocaching gives you many challenges and some that you do not expect.
Because of this cache, and that we were on foot coming back from this cache, we witnessed something that was not meant to happen.
Because we were on foot, geopartner said 'I can hear a noise'.
He was refering to a vehicle coming and it meant getting off the road.
I said ' Thats not a vehicle, that's a plane.'
I did not hear the news that night but the next day.
I rang the police with the information of where I was when I heard the plane.
It was able to help the searchers to locate the crashed plane and the deceased 6 people. RIP

Well, this was an epic voyage.
Geomobile would not cross the creek.
Too low to get across, so we abandoned the geomobile and donned the boots and set off by foot.
This time it was about 800 metres to GZ, thankfully along a flat surface and 2 creek crossings.
The boots made it a bit hard for geopartner.
We got to GZ and found the container in good condition, signed the log and took a photo and returned it to its hide.
Now for the return walk.
We will return for the last cache on this road at a later date as we are not walking any further.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks sweet-sour for maintaining and cooroy scouts for setting it up.

Out on a drive from Forest Challenge 6 to find some rarely visited caches today we were pleased to come here and find this one. We loved the name of the cache that relates so well with the cache decoration. Fabulous! If a geocacher has this on their to do list then please bring a bit of super glue and re-fit the top on the cache (it's being looked after inside the cache). Great drive on a great day. Thanks Sweet - Sour for taking this cache on and keeping it alive. We were very pleased to visit it today and we thank you for the pathtag.
This one is a lot of fun. I was hanging back on the road wearing only thongs (other shoes soaked and drying back at camp). The others called out to me to come on in, said I had to see it, and they were right.
I love it when people make up fun caches like this especially where you don't expect it out in the bush. Took some photos to log after I get some sleep. Great weekend on the Forest Challenge #6 at Jimna. Some of our number had never seen pathtags so that was another revelation for them here. Thanks for adding this one to our caching weekend.

Having setup at the Imbil Markets for my partener, I set off to find a few caches in the Yabba Creek area, starting with this one.
I am happy to report that Celo is alive and well.
It just goes to show how well a quality cache survives in this harsh enviroment. Although Celo's boat could do with some TLC.
Another quality cache from Cooroy Scouts.
Picked up the TB, left a path tag.

I'm afraid i broke this one while trying gently to retrieve it from the abundant lantana that has grown around GZ. (Sorry) I placed it back in a slightly better spot for retrieval next time.

A quick easy find on the way home from spending the weekend helping out with vehicle recovery for the Gallangowan Car Rally. Had an interesting drive in the area - should probably take the 4WD club this way sometime. TFTC cooroy scouts
Out for a drive with Smeeagain and geokids, Cassandra and Princess P. What a lovely drive in amongst the farms. Lots of cattle. Thankfully the geokids were focused on the calves out the right hand side of the car, whilst mum and dad were having some quiet time together out of the left hand side!!!.
Cache was located after the GPS settled a bit. I guess it likes the bumps as much as smeeagains 4wd!!!.
Highlight of this cache and the day was the 3 horses that came up to us for a visit. One of which was friendly enough to let us and the geokids pat it.
The geokids also enjoyed the history lesson that went along with the question as to why the cache was called cleo.

Found with Angermanagement and our first for the day with the Geokids. The 4WD doesn't like using LPG on rough roads, lol, had to change over to petrol to continue the hunt. We had a few false starts at GZ which was in an open paddock. The kids loved patting the horses that came to check out what was going on. TFTC

This cache has a great personality! We learnt quite a bit here in our early stages of using a GPS - just like 'hot and cold' eh, but we had to learn all those lessons again ... Grabbed "Geocky", a Kentucky Geocoin, who was done visiting with the don-key keeping company with the local cows (of whom there are many ... plus lots of really cute calves at this time of year.) Thanks for the cache Cooroy Scouts.
Wow great cache! Lots of goodies to trade although we took nothing. Thanks for the nice drive out here. Such a nice area we placed another cache not far from here. TFTC

Loved the drive west along this road to the cache. Came head to head with a herd of cattle being moved along the road by John Wayne JNR and a car bringing up the rear. They decided to climb the bank in front of the geomobile, thankfully none slipped. The mud terrains came in handing following the cow trail

Loved the cache with a twist! Also loved the drive from the west. Trusty old Patrol did a magnificent job over a fairly rough road. Don't think a 2WD car would do this road although we would recommend coming this way for the sights. Today we saw a heap of really young deer and brahmans - too cute for words. All in all one of the best caching afternoons out. Many thanks for sharing this great location Cooroy Scouts (love the Glow in the Dark FTF Pin too) Cheers!
