I couldn't think about leaving this cache. It is a wonderful area for the dogs, so went again. After a nice hunt, find the cheaky cache
Wonderful, thanks

Got the wet feet, but also a do not find for me.
More to do, that I had the doggies still in the car and that's why I didn't have much time.

Thought I would grab some caches in the Dannemora greenbelt this evening. First up, Dannemora. Another well thought out and tidy hide my mashnz here. Clear signs of recent flooding, but cache is still safe'n'sound. A little bit of thought and the cache was soon in hand. Cheers for the smiley face!

nice hiding spot stinks a bit though TFTC

24-Oct-10
I found what appeared to be the obvious hiding place but it was empty. However I spent a bit more time looking and was soon rewarded with the cache from a good hiding place.Quite surprising how this one isn't muggled with the school so close!

16-Oct-10
I just could not find it. I had the wife and my to boys with me looking and turning over anything that looked like a possible hiding spot - any pointers pls?

16-Oct-10
Second time here and got it this time round. Thanks Kyle891 for the tips Razz

12-Oct-10
3rd time lucky Smile Thanks for the added hint. Turns out I was looking in the right place but the wrong spot Wink TFTC

3432. This is a good spot - pretty lucky to have this cache survive with such a large school so close!
Thanks

27-Sep-10
Second time I've been down there and had a look. First time got rained out shortly after arriving at site and the second time spent a good while having a look at some very good possible spots but came up with nothing. Maybe I should invest in a GPS Razz

24-Aug-10
what a beautiful evening, and a perfect end to the day with a spot of apres-work caching! took a while to find it until GPS settled down and got accuracy down to 1m! a crafty hiding place, which nearly has us foiled when we found its sister hiding place, very close by- empty!

12-Aug-10
This one took some searching... as I was a bit casual about checking the GPS location when I initially got to GZ... was sure I was in the right spot and there were certainly plenty of likely hiding spots, but just couldn't find the cache

Was about to give up and double checked the GPS one last time... while zeroing back in on GZ from a slightly different direction, I noticed a good looking spot I hadn't seen earlier... sure enough, there it was Smile

Just as I opened it up, the school bell across the road rang and all the wee muggles emptied out... so I had to be a fairly quick and quite stealthy about my departure...

As I have been feeling a little poorly lately, I thought the little blue "Health Plus" fridge magnet was a good bit of SWAG, so:

The third of twelve caches on a raid in SE Auckland. Great hidey hole.

Out: GC.

Cheers for the cache.

An attractive-looking park - the outdoor exercise equipment looks interesting. The area around GZ is particularly nice. The cache is well-hidden from muggles but a caching eye will soon spot the placement. Thanks.

25-Sep-09
Was sure I had checked the spot where I finally found the cache. Maybe some junior muggles 'borrowed' it and recently replaced it. The two recent finds of this cache frustrated me so much I visited again this afternoon and was in luck!

[Time between work and flight home to Nelson so a quick drive out here to find the cache.] Coords spot on but had me searching low then high - if I'd searched the other way round I would have found it quicker.[TFTC, Biggles]

Had a good look around for this one during a break in BarCampAuckland but could not ind it.

Looked like the water had come through quite high, it may have been washed away?

Nice cache to do before our Dinner Break, Not a good start, only 11 done today so far, better luck after a good feed i'd say!!

Well Camo'd but easily found by Mrs Geckoh's keen Caching eye!! I was passed it and in dire need of food!!

09-Jan-09
As described something has chewed the lid and allowed moisture in.

I threw in another log book in a ziplock for the time being. But a replacement lid of a standard plastic jar. eg Mayo Peunut butter etc would fix it. Even a piece of packing tape would make it water tight again.

Contents are little grubby due to the Pin rusting.

Still locatable and worth finding. Swap items are not safe form moisture at the moment. No room left anyway with 2 log books in there.

07-Dec-08
The cache was missing when we last visited so second time lucky! Nice hiding place. Unfortunately a rat has had a good chew on the lid and the log is sodden.
Many thanks

06-Dec-08
Great piece of bush, nice camo.
But, container lid looks as though its been chewed by a critter & is letting the water in, hence the logbooks wet thru.

We were heading for this cache when we saw the 3 cutest little ducklings in the grass, parents nowhere to be found. We collected them and moved them towards where all the other ducks and things were. We saw two of them move towards the cute little balls of fluff, so hopefully they survived.

They were *so* cute.

Oh, we found the cache too.

Found easily between passing muggles.
Muggle has found it previous to me, she claimed to love BOB and a certain part of the male anatomy. But at least she was decent enough to place it back.

Sad

This was one of our favorite cache finds and a classic from MashNZ, so seeing all the DNF logs we were keen to check it out...

... Finally got a chance today and with disappointment we have to report the cache has gone...

The site has weathered quite badly with the recent rain. I don't want to say more about the location as we hope it will be replaced. Great location, great hide and 1st class camo

XC and TK out and about on Splat... Just did a maintenance visit at Music Radio.. Came to this one on the way home... Hmmm a mashnz hide.. could be fun.. Rode Splat down walkway and parked on path... walked down to GZ and let GPSr settle... turned around and there it was... aha.. Whew..!
TK signed the log and I logged through trackables in my company.

We were out shopping, and remembered that there was a cache somewhere around, fortunatly we had the coords in the GPS, but of course no clues.

The GPS had us in plain sight, but on the wrong side, so while AC poked around muttering about it being muggled, I looked a bit further.

Spotting something not quite right I made the discovery, but the local inhabitants had done their best to add their own camo, and I really didn't like to use my fingers in case they were still in residence so tools were used.

Don't know quite how we managed this one. After completing "To the point" master Noora1 states the next nearest cache is called Dannemora. Problem was we had no details with us except the co-ordinates in the GPS. Decided to have a quick look anyway. Found a possible landmark and started looking under, up and in. Suddenly I discovered something that didn't look quite right & sure enough there was the cache. Great hide. TFTC. TNLN.

A short walk on a very hot afternoon brought me to a stream where a group of kids were hunting for eels - 5 metres from GZ!! I reckoned I'd spied the hiding-place, so I said to the kids "Look, there's the eel", and grabbed the cache while they looked down to where I pointed. Of course there was no eel in sight, but the cache logbook was soon signed. So I waited a minute until they were looking the other way before replacing the cache container. No swaps, thanks and cheers from Grandalf(1029)

No crocodiles in the swamp but the girls saw a half metre long eel in the creek which kinda contrasts to being in the middle of NZ biggest wall-to-wall-insta-lawn type suburb. Heaps of waterfowl even peacocks running round the adjacent lake...
Found after about 10min - Great placement & camoflague!

Went to try and crack the magic 300 today but found that one of the caches was muggled so it put pay to that.
Anyway, longer than normal find while trying to keep my little boy out of the stream and the mud.
Nice hide. Found after having to also wait for local kids further up to disappear.
Took nothing but left Never stop Caching coin that I purloined from a cache overseas.
Cheers. TFTC.
