After hearing about this archived one we thought we’d have a look for it whilst in the area. Didn’t take long until we came up trumps. TFTH!
Thought it was time for a road trip with I C Nothing and Meme28, so we packed the car and headed off to Kulin and the surrounding areas. Logs signed as MIK.

Out with ICNothing and Kapelula on day two of our weekend picking up some country caches! After picking up the blue bird one close by we searched for this archived one! Kapelula was the winner with her hands on it first and log signed as MIK!
Kapelula, Meme28 and I C Nothing are once again hitting the roads for another geocaching geoadventure. This weekend we are heading to Kulin to turn some solved puzzles into smilies but along the away we will be finding many more as we pass through. A weekend full of laughs and adventure awaits. Logged as MIK. Cache found in good condition.
Magnificent views from this memorial spot.

Travelling Australia since March 2014 now we are making our way west for a visit with family.
Stayiing in Dumbleyung for a few days, today we headed out for a drive in the countryside using Geocaching as a guide. Around lunchtime we found ourselves in Katanning!
Some interesting hides and some very busy urban hides which we havent tackled for a while. Yet a fun day out and about.
TFTC and sharing this part of WA with us ZED!

Decided to get muggle to take me on an overnight geo roadtrip to Lake Grace grabbing some needed LGAs and getting other caches along the way that I had added to my list
Ended up being 702km by the time we got home and I think about 17 caches found, two of which were FTFs, seriously who would have thought
I have had this one on my watch list for a while and hoping that one day we will get here so I can claim a find
A beautiful drive up to the lookout and what stunning views we had mind you muggle said we have been up here before
Got the info then did my maths wrong, take 2 and got it right and just to be sure I used the calculator on my ipad. The first attempt had us about 3km away so definitely not right, second attempt looked really good so after some photo taking off we went.
I'm glad GZ was better than I thought except for the ants making there way to/from GZ too on the well worn path
A quick find then some more photos and off we went
TFTC ZED! and thanks for leaving them in place

In Wagin for the ANZAC Service tomorrow as we have decided to visit places where our relatives signed up for war and join in the service in that town
Another one the father in law had found ages ago so as we had time we headed out here to find the cache. What a lovely view from the lookout and great information.
Did the maths and off we went to find the cache. A quick find.

I have been quite actively seeking out archived caches lately as it is quite a thrill to find caches that are off the radar! This was one that was handy to the area I was in and I thought I would have a wee look to see if I could find it. Yep, still there and able to be signed. WOOHOO! .

TFTC crazy wind today, felt like my car was going to be blown off the top of Pussy Cat Hill!
Didn't have a lot of time but wanted to say thanx for drawing us to this memorial-we didn't know that Donald Campbell had set his water speed record here & appreciated the information very much. We were in our teens when this happened!Thanx very much ...not all geocaching is just about getting a result!
After a lovely drive through the back roads from Puntapin Rock,Yay, double Yay, 20th find, and last time we tried, we got stuck in the mud. This time, all good, the road has been recently graded - nice drive up the hill. So we made it to the car park, and on to the lookout at the top, where we enjoyed lunch in the shade on a 36er day.
Co-ords worked out, we made our way to GZ, where we found the cache. Took nothing, left Racing Car, (as a tribute to Donald) and a 100 dollar note!

On our way to Stirling Ranges, decided to give this one a go. Geo Hubby is interested in BlueBird story, so made the effort. Towing large 3.5t caravan. Half way up the drive, road became very slippery and van tried to pull us over the edge of 45 degree drop off. Ended up jack-knifing van and 4WD, had to get shire out to help us out.
Decided not to go to lookout. Maybe next time in area.

Easy find thanks. Good to read a little history whilst on a cycling trip from dumbleyung to Augusta
On my way to kukerin for the weekend stopped by and did this multi .... I had to do it the hard way as I saw the hill I stopped and started to walk up through the paddock not realising there is a road to WP1 any way the break did me good ...great view and a short history lesson TFTC ZEN!
Geohubby and I are now slowly heading east back to our home state of SA after six fabulous months in this beautiful state. (only got as far north as Denham this time around)
We left Busselton this morning and are heading towards Hyden and Wave Rock. We got as far as Dumbleyung before pulling into a nice little caravan park with a powered site....(read 'a nice warm heater').
The wheat and canola fields are looking stunning at the moment and the Griffen Coalmine near Buckingham is certainly something to behold. Geohubby and I have never seen such a large mine site. Most of the six caches we found today were in the rain....many we gave up on with heavier downpours but as we drove into Dumbleyung the clouds lifted somewhat and the sun even peeped out now and then.
We unhitched the van and headed out to Lake Dumbleyung to try for this cache. Both Geohubby and I were able to see Donald Campbell when he paraded through Adelaide and it's suburbs in his bluebird car after his land speed record on Lake Eyre. We were surprised and pleased to see another spot where he broke yet another record. Pussy Cat Hill would have provided a great spot from which to view the record attempt.
The co-ords are spot on....just follow the thousands of ants leading straight to GZ. The log is completely dry now and the shoelace is doing a great job of keeping the container closed.
Many thanks for bringing us to this excellent spot ZED! [^]

Well we sure had a dumbleyung adventure! On a camping trip with geojunior we came to the lake for a look. Cut a long storey short we got bogged, two hours of digging later I got the car out but now it was dark and a huge storm came through. Ended up camping in the tin shed at the boat ramp and it was a long wet and cold night! However we found the cache this morning and the views from the lookout sure were great! Put a new log book in cache as current log book wet beyond salvage. The container clips are broken and I didn't have any containers with me so used a soggy shoe lace in the cache to tie the lid on! Took tb. Tftc
A quick find after working out the puzzle. What a great view of the lake from the lookout. Hard to imagine having a sailing club and ski club using this 'dry' lake. Thanks for taking us here.
Great location!
Awesome view from the lookout and a great bit of history.
We had a little trouble finding the cache, not sure if I worked it out wrong but we found it to be about 10m out.
Not to worry, we found it in the end.
Would be great to see the lake after a good winter.
Dropped off a Thong travel bug.

Found at 1.50pm GAFF1. Now this is the type of cache that we really enjoy doing. A piece of extraordinary Australian history and a great location. We have now been to both venues where Campbell broke the speed records.
Thanks ZED! - didn't know about this one until we were in the vicinity.

Been past here many times but this is the first time I called in to see the lake from this end. Intitially did the maths wrong but soon worked out the correct coordinates and found the cache. Dropped in a trackable.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Have been meaning to do this one for ages, but have been waiting for it to rain and at least make some of it look like a lake. Alas the dry weather continues. Still a great spot, and interesting history. Read the previous logs and packed a new log book, which we left. Took nothing and left nothing else. TFTC
Have driven pass this turnoff many times and it took a geocache to get me to stop and I am glad I did. What a great spot. Really enjoyed the visit on our travels. Beware of the mud in the lake . TFTC.
The male Coaster spent a good number of years growing up in Wagin and had never been to the top of Pussy Cat Hill before. The lake looked amazing with the different shades of colour in the sunlight. One could be envious of the farmers who live around the lake and those who are lucky enough to crop and work on the hills that overlook the lake. After a minor adjustment to the working out of the co-ords (basic adding and taking away mistakes do happen), the Coasters made the easy find. The history and story of Donald Campbell the Bluebird make great reading. The 14th cache of the Coasters trip Albany to Katanning overnight, north to Dumbleyung and return.
Hi All......Found it very quickly...So I sat back and enjoyed the view....Very pretty....Didn't take anything...Left a braclet.......Bit chilly up Pussy Cat Hill...MEOW!
This is another cache that we've always wanted to to because of the history. Neither of us have been to Dumbleyung before so it was a first for us. When Donald Campbell and Bluebird raced along the lake here, we were both watching the news of it (well - on the following day back then). The cache was found easily after driving to the supplied co-ords and doing our maths correctly (first time this time). SL. Again no swaps, but a very enjoyable trip away. Thanks for the cache.
Enjoyed the multi and the location. Remember hearing about Donald Campbell when we were growing up. Thanks for bringing us here.
We enjoyed this spot and recalled the things we had heard about the land speed record as we were growing up. We did the multi without any problem and enjoyed the view and memorial plaques from the lookout. Great spot for a cache as we would have overlooked this location if it had not been for geocaching. TNLN. Thanks nobodyZ
Was a magnificent day when I visited the site. went up Pussy Cat hill and there was an elderly chap up there. Had a chat with him and turns out he is the guy who drove the truck with the Bluebird on it in a victory parade. Brian BRACKNELL is his name and his photo is on the middle info board. He was up there having his lunch when I came up. Was a ball of knowledge on the whole Bluebird event. Keep an eye out for him, his rego on his 4WD ute starts with MOO. Anyway, after reading the boards and talking to Brian I went and located the cache.

This was great. Very interesting. Homer and the kids remembered they had seen the land speed record car in Fremantle at the motor museum...now closed unfortunately.
Took the donkey and left a badge and stickers. Log book is full.
When you arrive in the car park for the final hunt don't park on the ant's nest. And if you do don't leave the door open. Homer had to do some quick driving off the anthill and brave Marge managed to sweep most of the ants out of the car. Must have looked hilarious.

My 150 cache find and 7th of the Great Southern Geocache Quest.
Great views of the lake and interesting display.
Was attacked by millions upon millions of big nasty ants near GZ, they even found there way into the car.

Picked this one up on our zigzag south for the B'day celebrations event.
Absolutely beautiful, spent some time enjoying the view and then the ambush happened. All around they had crept up on us, we hadn't noticed. So quiet yet so dangerous, we were trapped, and in a really bad way. We tried scaling the walls, running, but it was useless they had us pinned down. Then the assualt began, we fought valiantly but we never stood a chance. Ants one, cachers nil.

1600 -- What a fantastic location for a cache. We had all but forgotten the details in the passage of time it was breathtakingly beautiful even with a hot and strong easterly gusting. Cache in good order, no swaps TFTC.
We came up here on a photographic expedition, and the lake did not disappoint! So much interesting stuff to take photos of. Very very very windy day, but still a gorgeous place to come. I'm not sure if there is much yachting or other watersports going on atm, the water level seemed a bit low.
Found the information and worked out the coords, and retrieved the cache easily. TNLN, thanks for the cache! Stayed at the Dumbleyung Tavern and can heartily recommend it for anyone! Cheap accommodation, nice room and comfy bed, and great food and cheap beer/wine etc etc.

It was raining and blwing a gale so we were glad this was an easy multi cache to find.
We wrote down the details and sat in the car to work out the figures while watching the rain go sideways and the car rocked from the wind.
We moved closer to the Cache location and wadered around to find the cache between showers.
while logging the cache I heard a slight sound of brushing and looked around to find a nice 4 foot brown snake only 2m from me. He must have felt threatened as he headed towards me rearing up but since I stayed still the threat dimished and he moved off under some rocks. It was a great looking snake pity that they are so poisonous.
Took the "Baby Shek" TB left the Kalamunda Lapidary club TB in memory of "Peter Thiel"
