Doing the Wonga walk today with a previous finder who says I think theres a cache behind this tree and bingo there it was. Its still in very good condition. Great walk TFTC
There my be an issue with this cache. I'll get up there as soon as possible and check it out.
Done this walk a few times...recent deluges have changed landscape with a lot of trees trees down across the path..a tree had been across the path at ground zero, chainsawed into pieces and ground around GZ very disturbed.
Set out on one of those days where Dorrigo and the clouds meet. Really got the true meaning of the word 'rainforest' when it started to pour. No wonder this is world heritage, beautiful park.
It is always great to have caches on hikes, particularly in National parks and when they are as pretty as this hike. Thanks very much for placing this one here (apparently before the rules cached on NPs). We had a great walk with lots of Bird spotting although we got caught by some rain and while the rest of the Flintstones when back the short way from the Crystal falls Barney and I went on to do the cache and complete the loop. As it was raining heavy at the time we arrived at GZ I was very happy that Barney's new geocaching sense spotted the likely hide right away and indeed under some leaves we found the container. With the great walk and the Skywalk as an experience this get a Favorite point from us.

What a gorgeous walk. We took twice as long around as it should have taken taking photos and enjoying the scenery all the way! It was well worth it. Picked up My Cheetah TB (he looked like he needed more space to prowl and left a keyring and some other trinkets. TFTC!
Great walk and a fantastic spot for a cache.
Nice a quiet today so an easy find, swap and re-hide.
Left a TB to travel on it's way, only just fitted in the cache though. This TB has been out of circulation for a while so if the next cacher finds it please move it along.
Geokids loved finding this one.

This is such a fantastic rainforest and excellent walk. Probably the best example of rainforest we have seen. Thanks mandp for the cache, gave us a good excuse for a bit of a rest on the uphill climb! Bit interested to see that muggles had found the cache (and signed the logbook!) while looking for snakes!Left a moneybag charm and took (and destroyed) the packet of cigarette papers (not really appropriate in a cache we think!).
What a great walk although it was very long. We walked the whole track, coming across wonderfull waterfalls and great bush walks. The new geocachers we were with loved it as well. TFTC mandp
I can report that the previous finders had put the cache into a much less exposed state. Great walk, we had a lovely meal at the walks end as well.
Three things I enjoy, caching, bushwalking and waterfalls. Great walk, such a good man made path to walk on. Great photos to be taken of the two waterfalls. So much has changed since we were here last. Found cache very exposed. I was surprised no one had seen it. signed log and concealed the cache so it cannot be seen from the path.
Thanks Mandp

Wow, what a trek. With a huge ensemble(10 people), we set out for this cache after some morning tea, on a day trip from Urunga. After a visit to the Crystal Falls, on we went. Geoson found some empty bottles, quick boy, throw them away. Some time later and no cache, geodad remembers a previous log about some old protective cover. Quick, that's it mate, and out it comes, phew. Signed log and off we went. Geodaughter quickly started complaining about a sore toe, so on the shoulders of dad she goes. Back at the Glades picnic area for some lunch and totaly exhausted. Thanks mandp for the adventure. Cheers from the Browngang
Found at 5.20pm GAFF2. A wonderful walk through rainforest and a bit of trickery at GZ. Went straight to where the cache was hidden - but all that was found was a couple off empty beer bottles. So went all around searching, only to come back to the original spot and look more thoroughly - and there it was - quite well hidden. However after reading some of the logs in the log book, it seems that a muggle is looking after this cache and it has been found exposed in the past - so they hide it really well!
Thanks manp.
Thanks manp.
went for a walk with family to look at the new bridge at christal showers.been waiting to find this cache.this is an eye opening round trip two to three hours ,depending how many times you stop to marvel at the magnificant trees. left geo coin took trinket,sl,tftc.

Big thanks to groovydoo for keeping me updated on the situation.

I have been waiting to find this one for a long time. Well today I managed to find it As the new suspension bridge on Wonga walk has been completed. TNLN. SL. TFTC
Bushfire walked the full loop today crossing over the new bridge at Crystal Shower Falls.
Location still unable to be accessed. Recent rains have only added to the problems.
I'll keep you posted.
I'll keep you posted.
Track is still closed and will be for some time. We were content to walk to Crystal Shower Falls. This is a lovely walk through the rainforest. TFTwalk:)
We will let geocachers know when the Wonga Walk is opened again. Until then the cache can't be accessed.
could not locate due to recent flood rains washing sections of track away. area closed by national park.could be months before area is open to public again
So near, yet so far....Some of the wooden walkways on the Wonga walk near Crystal Falls has given way after all the heavy rains, so you can only go about halfway round the track. The track is fenced off just 250m from the cache...bummer! We thought about bush bashing to avoid the subsided section but there were a lot of muggles about and it didn't seem PC, plus they may have dobbed us in!
So we left slightly frustrated but enjoyed views of the falls. We'll just have to come back another time.

Arrived at GZ 1400hrs.
After a short walk found that the walking track is closed due to recent rain and storms. I spoke with the staff at the Rainforest Centre and they indicated that it may be sometime before an assessment of the track is conducted, so it can be reopened to the public.
I suggest that you attend to the Rainforest Centre to see if the walking track is open before attempting this cache.

The Wongaful cache is still in its original position and waiting to be found. Thanks to all geocachers who have found my cache and traded goods so generously. The forest was looking spectacular today due to recent rain. The fungus growth was amazing.
Despite the leeches and the heavy rain we walked the trail. A really good walk to be recommended, but you don't need a GPS as it is most unreliable under the canopy, especially in heavy rain. We used the clue and decided to use a walk pace of plus or minus a couple of steps, but we still could not find the cache despite searching both sides of the track for a couple of metres. Very disappointing for us UK travellers!
Pleasant walk around the forest. Lots of wildlife including big mr diamond snake across the path.

Our GPS was lost some 300m from the cache due to the thick canopy, but it didn't matter - the clues are enough. Great walk. Allow a few hours to really enjoy it.
Left a toy story soldier and stickers. Took dominos.
Thanks mandp.

Found on a cold and overcast day with my 70+ parents. Mum found the going up a bit of a struggle but she made it! Fantastic walk. TNLN Thanks.
Love the forest and water falls.
The coordinates are out, we found it by reading the cache instructions and not following the Coord's
Great location any way.

Found after a long walk. Coords are out by 900m but was`all ok as the clue made it an easy find. Took the TB to move it on and left a TB to stay a while. Thanks for the great walk and the views of my old home town of Bellingen.
There seems to be a mistake with the listed coordinates. I will check them as soon as I am in the area. The cache can still be located using the description and the hint.
1200 Took a walk with Mrs C along the Wonga walk. But she was rather discouraged that we would not be able to find the cache as we had absolutely no coverage until we got to the Lookout sign. NB Please note the coordinates, as even though I only had 2D, 40m accuracy, it seems amazing that I should have been some 920m away from the cache when I actually found it. There may be a typo!
Left a frog, and the Shell Travel Bug Dog Tag TB, and then grabbed the geocoin after I had written in the log: Grand Experiment #4 - Japan.
The area is beautiful after the decent amount of rainfall they have had recently. TFTC
Brought through Dr Quack and Pin & Plate TB's
We were very lucky we went anti-clockwise, as otherwise we would not have found the cache.

Rated: for Overall Experience
Our first find for the holidays. Found after a long tiring walk. Geokids did well to keep up. Waterfalls were magnificent. Good walking footwear is what we lacked. Great scenery. Took coin and left another one.
Wow! FTF for a change, and miles from home too!
Found with Mrs George on a damp cloudy morning. This circuit walk has to be one of the best rainforest circuit walks we've done for a long time.
Watch out for the rainforest canopy - my old GPS had extreme difficulty holding lock, and eventually gave up unless the canopy was clear.
