Thanks to another geocacher I have seen photos of the final area and it has totally changed since I was last there.
I am currently without a car so unable to get back to the area. This cache has already been replaced once due to gardens being changed.
I think the statue deserves a cache but will leave it to someone living a bit closer to place a new one.

Could not find this one, looks like the area has been redeveloped significantly. May pay for the CO to check if the cache is still in place
Finally found after a few quick attempts it was an easy find not sure how I missed it. Must have been standing right next to it. Dropped off tasty treat thanks to the Co for the positive pointer TFTC
Last summer the idea was born to visit [Green]'New Zealand'[/Green], together with [url=http://coord.info/PR3NXJG][red]'MimiNemo'[/red][/url]
After some important decisions regarding the beginning of our trip, the flights, the general route and the car were made, the most important question was still unanswered: which caches can we visit during our tour [?]
To get an answer for this topic I was fetching almost every cache from both islands [8)][:X]
[url=http://coord.info/PR3NXJG][red]'MimiNemo'[/red][/url] and I love [Teal]'Geo-Arts'[/Teal]...so we added all these cache series to our wish list
After this decision was made this list was more than 300 puzzle caches long...unsolved puzzle caches
Two weeks before Christmas it was getting time to start solving all these mystery caches
Even with the different language I could find almost every solution
In the case I was not so successful I was contacting some of the CO's...and was always getting help from them...many thanks for this support [:X]
During the following weeks our cache list was growing and growing...meanwhile more than 1000 caches long...too long for a simple bookmark list from GC
Time to get our route and caches in sync...time to save the PQ's to our Garmins...time to start this holiday:
Chapter 4: [green]Fairlie[/green] to [red]Twizel[/red]
This day should the be the day where we see the highest elevation of [Green]'New Zealand'[/Green]: [red]'Mount Cook'[/red]
Unfortunately the weather conditions had changed from warm and sunny to cold, foggy and stormy
So nothing to see from any mountain during our journey [:o)][|)]
Nevertheless we could find some caches during the following hours
This multi cache was one of them
I would like to thank all owners of the caches I've found for their effort and for showing me these interesting spots,

Together with [url=http://coord.info/PR3BC8B][red]'Dev46'[/navy][/url][/red] I was on a 'sightseeing-tour' through lovely [Green]'New Zealand'[/Green]
During our great time we could see a lot of beautiful places and we also could find 'some' caches in the area...this was one them [:X]
Many thanks to all CO's for all these nice caches

After the swim in the lake, we passed through Fairly and did this multi. While we were doing the maths, we learned a lot about the mackenzie area. Really interesting as it did came to use later on in our holiday.
We were wondering were all these people were doing here. And while walking to the final we couldn't resist and asked. It seems there was a parade....
So we went for the final, nobody was interested in us, so it was a quick find and went for an icecream. While waiting for the icecream we hear the parade coming with some scotish pipers. Beautiful.
And than.....we could enjoy the yearly carparade from Fairly. We felt really lucky as it was so great to see all these old cars and other vehicles.....

An interesting tale from the Wild South time of New Zealand.
We used our refuelling stop to get some steps outside the car while going from Christchurch to Aoraki Mount Cook today.

Found this one today on a road trip from Queenstown to Christchurch. I was also trying to find 8 different types of cache but managed to find 6 different types. This was the multi and the final type that I found today. Thanks for a very interesting multi where I learnt not only some history but also saw a very innovative final hide. I am giving this one a favourite point because of this.
Thanks for the cache Kiwi Nomad.

We had been here previously when the cache was missing so it was good to make the find today.

Travelling on New Zealand's roads, Geocaches like this one are always a good reason to leave our camper, walk for a bit and get some air. For this reason, we have really enjoyed looking for heaps of interesting Caches, sometimes in places that we wouldn't have found by ourselves. On our way we've met lots of friendly and welcoming people and the landscapes were breathtaking
If we then find the Geocache, like this one, that makes our awesome holiday here even better.
We would like to thank all owners of the Geocaches we found for their effort and for showing us those interesting spots.

Due to the listing suggest an easy and short cache. So we made a stop and collect all necessary information. After a short time we were able to find the box. Thanks for showing us this nice spot
It was not so easy to find all the information. But we did it and found the box.
yebo kiwi nomad,
we pulled in this town to have breakfast and oh what joy, a multi to do.... off we were, studying he board and wondered a bit about the habit to name parts of the country after a wannabie-big-boy
and off to gz we circled a bit around, but finally cih
seen the TB but left it

Interesting story. The penalty was very severe I think. In one way he was very clever, but in the other also naive. A thousend sheep.... after a short walk we found the cache due to the strong hint. Well hidden. We dropped a tb that we brought from the Netherlands. Thanks. Regards, paroja.

TFTC easy find today, we met a lovely little dog at the paca shack near the statue =)
Somehow I made a wee mistake on my first attempt. It was probably the cold late afternoon air. I worked out my mistake once back in the warmth of our motel. . This time I left my ski gear on while caching. And walah. I found it.
Collected the clues after a stroll along the river, and while the rest of our group did some shopping. Some cool swaps here at the moment. TNLN SL TFTC.
Shared the board with a couple of tourists who couldn't get over the fact that a criminal was being glorified!! Took some convincing. Loved the chase. Thanks.
Found with Hinemoana while on a trip around the South Island. Thank you for placing this cache.

Anzac Weekend, and my bf had a photography course in Tekapo, and it's my mum's b day also, so decided to make a whole weekend of it!
Spend time caching together with the fam, and just having a nice weekend in Tekapo. Found 50 caches, but some very awesome ones in some beautiful scenery!!
Decided to go for a drive caching after visiting the hot pools and dropping the bf off to get some sleep at our accommodation before his all night long course.
Quickly solved, and quickly found. Far out it was getting chilly by this point, so just hurried to find cache ASAP!
Most hides found with the whole fam were simply signed as 'Team Polak' to save our ink and the logsheet and our hands

A most enjoyable multi. The history of the infamous local was familiar, but the statue was new although we did recognise the name of the sculptor. Mrs Sobad wandered off to the calculated GZ which was totally deserted so it was a straightforward find.
Thanks.
Thanks.
We arrived in Fairlie after dark checked into our accommodation, had some dinner and then went out to see if we could pick up a few more caches to go towards our MGSc Challenge (http://coord.info/GC2J6AY)
Thankfully we had no problems with muggles this late and the numbers were quickly calculated. We walked to the final no problem for a quick find and glad it was dark so we werent expecting anyone to appear from around a corner. A nice sized container. Thanks for the cache

Great cache just as well I checked had one digit out and nearly went into the back country TFTC
TFTC SL Also thanks for the puzzle. Super cache - full of goodies. One of the best !!
Having just come from the dog and god cache at the church of the good shepherd (unsuccessful due to 2 buses of muffles) it was nice to get this cache for the same person and dog
I was rushed for time when I tired this one two weeks ago and I missed the -1 for one of the questions. This time, with a lot more time on my hands, the coordinates made sense and the cache was in hand. Cheers for the history lesson and the cache, Kiwi Nomad.
I have replaced the cache today, new coordinates, just a slight move about 10m.
Questions will need to be changed too.
Will update all the details after dinner.

Have requested via e-mail that this be un-archived and hope to be in Fairly on Monday to have it replaced.
As this cache has been out of action for too long and the cache owner has not performed any maintenance, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

This has only been disabled for 14 days, I am planning on replacing it in the up coming school holidays.
My sons best friends live in the area of the cache and there would be tears if I took them during school time and they didn't get heaps of time to play with their friends.
Also any possible trips have had planned have been postponed due to a sick 3 year old.

Nice multi and interesting story. While our motorhome was getting gasolin, I found this cache. Had to search a bit for the final, but if was there.

Was a bit of a mission locating the final, but, being a Sunday, not a lot of muggles about to disturb the hunt. A great info board with an insight into the area's history. Glad we don't have scoundrels like this in North Otago!

Loved the sculpture and learning about the story behind it. The spring flowers around GZ were very pretty. It was quite difficult to find time to look for the cache as it was very busy with muggles coming and going.

A short walk down the road we learnt about some of the history of the area. We quickly completed the co-ords and plugged them in to find GZ a short stroll away. Lovely trees and blossoms at GZ. We had a look around and thanks to the hint made the find. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TN LN. We thought the hide was a little higher than D 1 TFTC.
Spent lovely day in town while son and hub went skiing.lovely sculpture and it is always interesting reading about Mackenzie again.thanks
We did this quick offset multi while waiting for out Thai takeaway. The shop opened yesterday. We were satisfied.

Bit of a late log as I just realised I had some catching up to do.
We done an overnight camping trip in the Van to Fairlie just to do some caching and walking.
This was the second cache of the trip.

A well done multi, some good info and a nice final. Good to do in the weekend too though! Thanks for the wander.
This was a relatively quick cache. I was able to collect the required information easily enough, and then I headed off to the final. A hint for future finders - This one will be much easier outside of business hours!
I had found the cache and had finished signing the log, when I was surprised by some passing muggles. I tried to look innocent, but I'm not sure if they bought it or not. They didn't see me at Gz though, so the integrity of the hide should be fine!

We had just biked back into town after doing the Stoneleigh series and wanted to grab this one before going back to our cabin. I enjoyed the history behind the statue. TFTC.
My Hubby (Digital_Dan) & I are on vacation with our good friends, Mr & Mrs benny7210. Making our way between Christchurch to Wanaka, picking up caches along the way. Out and about caching and sight seeing. Interesting bit of history learned here. Guess this sort of stuff was common way back when and even now, I would think.
Thanks for bringing us here...it's why we love caching..to see stuff the average tourist would NEVER see!! SL TFTC

We were driving right past this one on our way back from Wanaka to Christchurch, so we stopped by to find it. We quickly gathered all the necessary data and headed off for the final. Looked for awhile before we determined we had a number wrong. Corrected that and we soon had the cache in hand. Thanks for the Hide!

Fairlie hard cache. Quite sure we found gz but not cache. Saturday afternoon very quiet and sunny. Might have another look tomorrow.
At last the opprtunity to find this one -there has always been too many people around. TFTF
Lucky there are toilets and a playground here too. Grabbed the info on the way to Wanaka, and the cache on the way back to Christchurch. I showed off my new knowledge to the family, who I'm sure were very impressed.
we know the history, in fact just a couple of weeks ago were telling a friend about it all. Driven past so many times, so today took time to tick off the two multies. But had to watch for watchiing eyes nearby at the final. Foggy here, little rain.
Found with Mr B while on our caching adventure. A great wee multi on a beautiful autumn day. our numbers placed us about 30m from the cache (most likely our maths not yours) but we soon found it. TFTC.
Thanks for making me aware of this. Quite the honour to have a region named after you when you are such a "problem"
easy find once we amended our co-ordinates

First of the day after staying overnight in Fairlie. A nice wander round town and a quiet GZ today.
@1740 #25 on road trip and #11 for the day. This one on my birthday and in my birth-town. This will be the last for today. Off to get us a motel and then off to the Old Post Office restaurant for our evening meal. A very memorable day.
Thanks,

I had to give up seeking this cache when I was last down this way (a couple of years ago) as it was in the middle of a business day and the final GZ was alive with people. This time I found 7:15pm on a Sunday evening was the ideal time - absolutely no one around. Thanks for the cache.
A very popular spot everyone wanted to read about the man and his dog. A lovely friendly town. TFTC
Had a score to settle with this cache - came here a couple of years ago and didn't realise it was a multi, didn't have any of the necessary information with me, and had to give up. This time I was properly prepared - all questions were answered easily and the cache was a quick find. Interesing bit of history. Signed log, TFTC!
