Primo day for a little road trip over from chch, even managed to beat the buses. Grabbed a few caches in town then a short sharp hike up the hill and finally a (very quick) swim in the lake.Ok maybe not so short if starting from the lakefront like I did. Definitely puffed when I got to GZ. The tracks on open street maps are not so accurate so took a "shortcut" through the pines. Cache lid is a little broken on one corner but still looks watertight-ish. Signed and left some swag
I was out on a big bike ride - first thru the forest and then out in the dry open fields up to a lagoon that was dry and then back into town via this cache. Great views from up here. TFTC

We took the loooong way and returned the short way. Removed the soap and raro which seemed a bad mix and both will go soggy. Thanks sp00k and Ciotach
A nice quick find, after a nice walk through the trees. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are on a wee cruise around Otago, starting in The North then heading to Central. Today we headed home, 0 degrees in Twizel, and fine sunny weather most of the way home.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

Staying in Scott St, SoBad cleaned the car while Mrs SoBad finally did most of the Cowans Walkway with a side step for this cache. Cloudy but warm so she was very pleased she had taken water. Went on the the Lions Seat then down to the main road where she was collected (she had run out of water).
Thanks
Thanks
Too wet for a walk up here yesterday so I decided to leave it for today when the gate was open. That made for a nice quick park and grab before heading to Christchurch. Great view too. I disturbed a skink that was lying underneath the cache. TFTC # 17,822
We are on holiday with our cat Coco in our motorhome. Parked up for stay and now out in Suzy exploring.
Only we could of made this adventure so much harder than we needed to. Climbed up thru trees along fence, around trees up across and then round back to the Heights.
Fantastic views from up here, very happy 79yr old Mr C. Of course we found a much quicker and easier way back.
Thanks for this cache Sp00k and Ciotach.
Ps the log book is very full.

Found ... Mrs McMike2012 & I were away for a long weekend of sightseeing & star-gazing down South ... this was the 5th of 18 caches for us over the weekend ... after being in the car for a while it was great to get out & stretch the legs ... nice walk from the closed, & locked, gate ... cache was easily found, completed & returned ... TN:LN:SL ... TFTC ... #1,721 for us.
Took one look at the road and left the camper near the tip. Great views away from the lake of snow capped mountains.
TFTC

On our 11th day in New Zealand we stayed in lovely Tekapo. Unfortunately the weather was not that good, grey skies, some wind and a little rain every now and then. Therefore we stayed near the town and just looked for some caches. It was a nice walk to this box and we could find it easily.

Another Hill climb to get to this one. We decided that the direct route through the trees would be the best option maybe it wasn't but we got there in the end. Tftc found with rayzr2
Great night for a post dinner caching mission. Fun walk and easy cache as a reward. Tftc.
12.30pm. Currently holidaying in a street that borders this area so went over the back fence and looked for the most likely track. Taking a direct line was not wise as matagouri or something similar grows well between the pine trees. Eventually settled on a track that zigzaged it's way up. Much easier. Cache in obvious place once at gz and quickly located. Yes, view magnificant.
Deserves a favourite point for location.

What a great day to be up on the top looking at the view. Did a swap with a very cool fantail rock. An easy find and a great reason to climb the hill
On a family touring holiday from the UK with Higster. As it is another beautiful day we decided to do a bit more exploring of the area and pick up a few caches. Enjoyed the walk up, although we were puffing a bit by the time we got to GZ. A nice quick find once we got there. Have to say this is the most picturesque refuse/treatment site we have ever seen! On a tourning holiday of New Zealand with family JK2. A lovely day again today so we came out to pick up a few caches and take in the lovely scenery, a good walk up the hill to GZ but the views made up for the effort cache soon located all in good order log book signed and cache replaced as found TFTC

I hired a bike and found some caches around Lake Tekapo #30. It is to windy to go to Mt. John. But I did stargazing 2 night ago. Tftc
Great find. A bit hard for some of us to get up here though! P.S. you may need a new notebook!
Enjoyed the walk up from the village. The views from up here really are amazing. Thanks for bringing us here. TFTC.
Found it. Just when you thought you were to the top up again you go.
Trees are growing so views are starting to be limited.

Using the long hours of daylight to the most. The sun had set when we begun our walk up here, the path begun more or less just outside our airbnb place.
Changing skies and fresh air on the way up.
Fast find, all in good condition here
Thanks for hiding

The day has both clouds in the distance and clear skies making the environment look in battle. Tftc
Our group was only booked to stay here for one night sadly .....
So after dinner I decided to make the best of my short time, by searching for a few nearby caches , as I did not have a vehicle !
Walked to this one first ! Amazing views and sunset from the top !
Thanks sp00k and Ciotach !

Found this one again after I found out a TB had been placed there. Will move it on in soon.
I had a bit of time before meeting some ex-colleagues for coffee this morning. A nice 2km return walk.
Cheers for the cache.

[blue][size=1]On a holiday of a lifetime with Mr Crow (San Francisco, New Zealand and Sydney). Our last day in Tekapo and treated ourselves to a horse ride in the woods at the foot of Mount John. Highly recommended. Rest of the day spent walking in woods and playing with our pair of visiting ducks. http://izziewhizzie.blogspot.co.uk/2015/11/blog-21-friday-6th-november-horses-and.html[/blue]

We'd cleared up all the caches in Tekapo other than this one and the one on the island which we cannot get to. Quickly found on a great walk.

Out for a run up the hill. Wasn't sure where the trail went but ended up here. Took the TB. Great views and not a muggle in sight Tftc
Second try at this one. Tried a couple of years ago as a beginner cacher. No problems this time. Great views and a bit of snow about on the walk to the cache. Tftc
Spectacular southern alps view on this nice leg - stretcher of a walk behind Tekapo.
Nice evening wander before the sun went down. Cheers for this

Quick find after good workout on the MTB. Also after find talking with a lady from France who was out on an afternoon walk . TFTC
Found it walking wit the family. Placed Trackable by the name of Waddles. Look after this guy(: TFTF
An early morning walk in the fog. Made this a lot harder than it needed to be. It was so much clearer - literally - on the way back when the fog had lifted. TFTC.
We walked up from where we were staying just as the sun was sinking. A quick find. TFTC

Anzac Weekend, and my bf had a photography course in Tekapo, and it's my mum's b day also, so decided to make a whole weekend of it!
Spend time caching together with the fam, and just having a nice weekend in Tekapo. Found 50 caches, but some very awesome ones in some beautiful scenery!!
Well... our theory was - go the most direct route... so an about 200m pine bash ended up landing us next to a path... in a place where there was something for everyone!!!
A survery mark for the brother who is studying surveying
A nice photo spot for the bf who likes taking photos
And of course a cache for the addicted me and mum!!!
Logs where the whole family went, we simply signed as 'Team Polak'.

Took a while to find a way to get to the location due to quad bike tracks and some hut full of people at the bottom. Got to the location eventually to be greeted by a quick find, TFTC!
Lucky to find this as the dump was due to close....bit more looking and we found the walking track to the cache....of course up another steep hill! TFTC, fantastic views
An evening bike ride and picked up this cache - what an awesome view! It's a shame that there hasn't been more cachers lured up here for the view. TFTC.
We found our way to a place to park near the end of the road where a pole was visible marking the track. A short but steep walk up to the top and the view was enjoyed and the cache quickly found, thanks!

The 1st cache for the day. Wasn't too sure if the track was still closed or not as there seemed to be many ways in and not all were sign posted. View from the top well worth the short walk.
