DNF
Was on our way from Greymouth to Westport along the way, this was our first DNF for the day before leaving town
Managed to solve and check with a previous finder to see if we were in the correct location.
Was able to have a good look as there wasn't any muggles around, but after a very good search decided that it was time to give it up and carry on our way, was a great spot for a cache, but no luck here today
A bit sad that we couldn’t find this puzzle cache
Maybe next time when I pass through

Had heaps of fun researching this one - learnt some new things that I'd never given a second thought to previously. I'm pretty certain my coordinates were correct but no cache could I find on 2 separate nights (the first night, half of our search area was made inaccessible by muggles accessing wifi).
[As the weather was cold outside we spent some time in the building nearby and then a toy shop before Mum decided we had time to find one last cache before catching the train home.
Actually Mum had found the cache earlier while out for a walk with her friend Annie of Annie and PB and insisted on showing us where it was.]
My favourite numbers used to be 728.81 and 794.1
[Thanks for the puzzle.]

I use these numbers all the time. They are really useful to find what I want.
Thanks for the puzzle.
Thanks for the puzzle.
This was the last cache we found on our trip to the West Coast on the train.

Sorry for the late logs. We took cover from the rain at the end of a weekend away at a building that had a lot to do with this cache. Some how or other I ended up solving this a number of times as I didn't file my answer very well.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Cache Puzzle was a quick solve, and cache today was a pretty quick find while two locals were pressed up against the window of the nearby building using the free wi-fi. Thanks for the cache.
Had come here earlier in the evening only to find myself sandwiched in between two muggles, but no issues (pardon the pun!) late tonight. TFTC, #5853
Team_Gaters and I have planned a this trip over the last few months. We finally got to the business end of things and kicked off out West Coast raid. We had two days and a lot of boxes to tick. We started at 5am on Saturday morning and it took over 12 hours to get to Greymouth. We drove a lot, walked a lot and had a lot of laughs. We experienced 4 seasons and even contemplated aborting the mission as we were standing in icy cold weather freezing as the rain came pelting down in Arthurs Pass. We encountered matigouri, rosehips, blackberries, brambles, spainairds, baby gorse and old man gorse!!! Still finding parts of prickles in my skin! We also saw kea, weka, cave weta, tree weta, giant slugs, giant spiders in caves, west coasters, fat wood pidgeons, tui and a giant dragon fly. Had wet feet for nearly two days. Three FTFs and on of them was unpublished (first for me).
We checked out our GZ for our event and had a wander around to pick up some 'close' ones. We decided to have a crack at some before grabbing something to eat and going to our event. I solved this one ages ago and was confident of the solution as the GZ was in an apt location. Quick find and sign. Nice puzzle.
Awesome weekend. TG and I joked that going back to work would be a bit of a let down, so to combat that we would keep one foot in a bucket of water and the other one on top of a pin cusion, that should ignite the memories.
Thanks for the cache.

In Greymouth with TheWanglers on a caching weekend. Checked out our Event location adn with a bit of time to kill we swung around to GZ. A muggle sitting nearby, but not quite at GZ, with earphones and intent on his phone didn't stop a quick find and sign. Cheers.
A lovely day for caching. Quickly found after dinner across the way from GZ. Thanks for the hide.
Solved the puzzle at home (easy!) about 3 years ago and tried for it when I was last in Greymouth in Feb 2010. Unfortunately the cache was missing in action at the time and wasn't replaced until after I had returned home. No problems finding the cache today but the lid of the container had rusted and it disintegrated in a pile of brown flakes as soon as I tried to move it. After signing the log, I went for a bit of a tour around to see if I could get a replacement container but unfortunately nowhere that I could find had anything similar. So I have bagged the container in a new sturdy plastic ziplock bag and replaced it where I found it. Hopefully that'll last even better than the original! Thanks for an enjoyable cache!
Had this one solved in anticipation of our visit to Greymouth. Love these types of puzzles. Were unable to sign as couldn't get the cache open, so have sent email to the cache owner. TFTC
The puzzle part at home didnt have us puzzled lol but the cache part definitely did - with quite a few ups and downs and tos and fros we finally worked out what we were standing near ( you will have to excuse us out of towners !!!! ) and Stretch0 and I had an aha moment but the honours go to Stretch0 for putting his hand to the cache - log signed enjoyed your puzzle cache - thanks
We were on a roll when we worked it out at home and arrived on site and suddenly had doubts of our workings. It must have been a patch of bad reception throwing us out a few metres but after awhile it moved closer and i had an ahhaha moment and when the coast was clear managed to snaffle the cache TFTC
Solved this a while back, finally got around to hunting it tonight. Turned out to take a bit of looking to get the final spot though Cheers Gav [9484]
In town to visit the Dentist right next door, Had to make several trips as a young muggle and his mum were playing on the equipment. TFTC
The area was pretty much deserted today (a Sunday). I had carte blanche to tear this area apart. TFTC.
A straightforward puzzle and a quick find, then we were muggled, by the daughter of a Dunedin geocacher, whom we have never met as a geocacher, and who turned out to be someone we knew well many years ago. TFTC
Though it didn't take me long to catch on to the puzzle, it did take me way too long to find the cache. Fortunately, it was a Saturday and the area was devoid of muggles at 2.45pm. Where was everybody?
Log too wet to write on, I think the pencil may be too thick and is letting in water
Nice quick puzzle to solve and find. Log wet. (I think didn't write it down) TFTC #1105
Solved just as we were leaving as knew we could be in area. Easy to retrieve on a quiet Friday night. #968
Travelling around New Zealand with a publisher, I could hardly avoid doing this one. The puzzle was easy enough, and solved well in advance, and the find was good and straightforward, too. TFTC!
Mrs B did the solving on this one - some previous knowledge came in useful, but she still had to look up some of the answers. When it came to finding, the Jnr members of the team were more interested in a certain feature than in finding a container .. but Mr B came up trumps. A great idea for a cache and a very appropriate final location! TFTC
Only time for a couple of caches before going back to motel to check out. As we had soved a few puzzles it made sense to do 2 of these. A helpful local offered to help Mrs Sobad find her missing item - the one she had told him had dropped on the ground!! TFTC
Good fun this one. The library was nice and warm on a cold winter's day. Had my 85 year old father in law when I found it so he could see how it works. He might be a bit old to start maybe!
Now that the area has finished the upgrade we have replaced the cache. Only moved by about 2 metres so the final co-ords stay the same. Thanks.
The area of the final is under reconstruction, so the cache is disabled until the work is complete. We wait to see what the final makeover looks like, and if there will be a suitable spot to replace the cache.
Nice puzzle, and an appropriate final location. I had to resort to using the hint, and even then it took a while to find as my GPS started me off on the opposite side to the cache.
TNLN - Thanks BK&J!

#421 (19/21 Chch -> West Coast). GPSr was a bit out to start with, but eventually it guided us to the right spot. Not many muggles on aSaturday evening.
We had a lovely warm afternoon for this one and lots of kids to help us find the cache but to no avail - we must be the unluckiest crowd of geocachers at the moment!... Back to the clues for more help!!
Thanks for the challenge!
Thanks for the challenge!
Took ages to find - due to a very persistent muggle. Came back after a while, and they'd gone. This area could certainly do with a bit of CITO. TNLN, Thanks.
Solved at home before heading away. No one about this morning which made the find easier. TFTC.
Good puzzle, one of a few I had worked out prior to this trip so very pleased to find the cache and get the confirmation.

A good idea for a puzzle, managed to find it after business hours when no one was about. TNLN Thanks.
1986. Loved the puzzle. Did a similar one sometime ago for a cache in Dunedin and loved the idea then. We solved it at home so were able to zero in on the spot quite quickly.
Thanks

A visit to the local did not give us enough to go by, so a wider search was undertaken. Easy final, great to see a stash note in a cache. Well stocked cache, easily accessible - thanks for a well thought out puzzle.
After a whirlwind day of caching with Pinot Noir, we went home to rest and regroup ... and plan some night caching! They had done all the organising today, writing down clues and figuring out coords, so when I saw that this was one of their closest to home unfounds and that I knew exactly how to solve it, I did some research and organisation of my own. Found quickly in the dark.
Thanks for a great day of caching guys, and thanks to BK&J for the caches .

First puzzle type one we've solved! Just as well for the internet - was fun.
Still saw a few muggles when we came out of the area even though it was about 11:00pm!! Hope they didn't notice us.
TNLN - we are all out of bears.

Thanks BK&J a bit sad though when the teacher sneaks in before the librarian can get to the place in question.

A handicapped start for me - I gave every one else a 24 hour head start.
Great to see some enthusiasm developing amongst the newer West Coast cachers - racing for FTF.
Cheers,
Moneydork.

FTF! "it's the early bird that gets the worm...thats alright with me i'd rather have toast and coffee!"
This was a nice little departure from your current cache that requires a degree in rocket surgery!
Up early for a run. Was going to do this last night but it had got quite late,so took a gamble it would be still a FTF this morning. Pace was quick into town. Not so fast on way home.
Would hate to try and do this during the day.
