A pleasant drive to this cache. Not having read the description, I was wondering whether church services would be on a Sunday, but not here! The rocks visible from gz are awesome! Nice quick find, TFTC!!South Australia is the place be for GCA1DNA - MEGA - February 29th, 2024 in Adelaide! Hope to see you at The Great Leap Forward!
A very special place with an amazing backdrop. Lytteltonwitch and I spent a while looking at all the graves and their stories, have managed to source a book of the churches in the area, so will be reading all about the history of this wee church. Pity it has been re used in another way.
A proper cache that showed us an interesting place - thanks Bitsprayer! The container is broken at one side, but no problem since it is in a dry hiding spot.
Drive this way a fair bit to fairlie. Nice cache and reason to stop and have a look. TFTC
Found with StreetWalkerNZ en route to Fairlie from Christchurch on a lovely late winters day. We had the time, and the weather was good, so we decided to walk the Kakahu track to the Pinnacles and after the walk, carried on Hall Rd to this cache.
A quiet wee spot, nice view of the escarpment from here. I was pretty weary after our walk, so SW did the honours. TFTC.

#18478. The nicely tucked away cache was quickly found. The container needs replacement (there is a a whole in the side that is several centimetres across) but the log is still in good shape. TFTC.
Back on the road after our walk and a nice easy find at this lonely cemetery. tftc
A quick easy find on a beautiful sunny day. Lovely bluebells, and some white ones flowering. Had a walk around and read the headstones. Thanks for bring me here.
Found this one after doing the Kakahu Bush walk. What lovely spot with a view of the Escarpment too. Quick find, then a look around the few graves that are there. TFTC.
In Geraldine ca(t)ching up with BCD. Nice quick find while out for a Sunday drive. Watch for the prickle! TFTC
Cycling towards Fairlie we passed this beautiful place, and naturally we had to log the cache . Tftc!
Didn't realise I had to go into the paddock with the wooly parishioners. Sweet spot. I love church caches but just had to imagine this one. Tftc
Decided on a day away from the house today and headed inland for some geocaching.
This was number 1 for the day.

parislaura, Team Jacob and I flew to New Zealand for the 2015 Mega.
Never having been out of Australia before, this was a very exciting trip for me
What a wonderful thing is a Mega! Seeing fellow geocachers with their flags on driving around town, tooting at those who are at caches and meeting many new people
Today was our drive to Waimate day, for a brief overnight stop prior to heading to Dunedin, then Queenstown.
Along the way, we saw some beautiful scenery and I patted some ponies and calves, which made my day
I found a total of 10 caches today
What a stunning little cemetery and with the added bonus of the amazing rock feature nearby [^]
We wandered for some time, enjoying the ambience and the views [^]

After enjoying the mega event in Christchurch, Locus Cache, Team Jacob and myself made a lovely journey along the coast all the way to Queenstown. We stopped in Waimate for the night and really loved the feel of such a country town.
Having a bit of a random drive around S Canty (after seeing the C.O. at Kiwi Nomad's Ashburton event); my aim was to get to Picnic near Hanging Rock - this was nearly on the way! .
Thanks for bringing me here, Bitsprayer - the nearby "cliff" is remarkable.

Driving back from the orienteering, we stopped for this one. A large number of sheep were wandering about the paddock. Interesting site. TFTC
There were orienteering competition arranged nearby and I ran here before my start. I had to think a few moments that is the cache really there, but after that I found it quickly. TFTC!
Found at 8:51:00 a.m. on 15/11/2014.
These caches were found during a trip to South Canterbury to attend the South Island Orienteering Championships.

The sheep did not mind us searching for the cache - a quick find on an interesting place. TFTC
How things change. Part two of the trail. A sad little place and very wet. Cache was OK though. Thanks.
It is a shame this Church has gone, but the Cache hadn't.Quickly found while Caching in the area.TFTH
Frequently driven passed this place, never really noticed it.

What a shame it is so overgrown. But at least the Churchyard is getting some visits from cachers. TFTC.
They must have taken out the sheep to let the daffodils bloom. They're finished now and grass getting long. A very pleasant stop. We parked around the corner so we wouldn't have to u turn and were entertained by a pair of fantail on the way back. Magic. NINO TFTC
Left the vehicles at the last cache and wandered along the quiet country lane to this historic site. Cache found very quickly. Wandered through the small cemetery and admired the various limestone rock formations in the valley.
The sheep keep the graveyard tidy. Cache in view - should it have a rock in front of it?
Drove past this without realising it was there. Such a small cemetery.
Easiest cache of the evening, once on site. Wonder what happened to the church? TFTC, TNLN

Another one we drove right past and needed to turn around and go back before espying the churchyard. Once there though, it was very easy to locate the cache. Cache was in good order. A very tranquil place
what a restful spot it is indeed - great place for a picnic - bring some extra food for the residents mine ha ha
TFTC. A lovely site and a well placed cemetery cache. Sorry to see that the church is now gone.
just got it signed before the neighbour came over to feed thr chooks. Thanks for all your caches.
Have driven by here a few times in the past. Thanks for making us stop & admire the surrounds. Shame nothing much is left of the church!.....cheers...
I guess I won't be attending service here. Wonder if the church was moved or destroyed? Interesting spot and cache was found fast. TFTC
Out on the back roads of Canterbury today with Les_Chercheurs enjoy the great views and having loads of fun caching .

Took a trip from Canada to New Zealand to visit my brother and nephew over Christmas. Did some caching and was taken to some pretty amazing places. Thanks for the cache!
Great day for a bike ride, made it a mission to find 2 caches on the way, great spot to stop and have a drink. TFTC, didn't know this spot was here in my backyard!
A very bad music practise going on at the house next door while we were here!! Cache well exposed so hopefully we covered it successfully when we left. We wondered where the church that went with this graveyard had been??
Found with YuGeo4, a quick driveby, thank for bringing me here. TFTC TNLNSL (1420)

Found today while passing through the area. Also did the other cache nearby (GCJYXM). Loved this area of the countryside and were very happy to have been able to drive off the highway and do this little detour. It's just beautiful. We were sad to see that the Greyfriars Bobby TB is missing from the cache. I'm hoping that someone else has collected it and just not logged it yet. If on holiday they would have to wait until they could get to a computer. We have Left: A Spikey Enemy TB to entice others off the highway and into this beautiful area. Thanks for the detour and the beautiful location. Took: tiny backpack toy.
Rain was starting to fall quite seriously by the time we reached this cache. Easy find thankfully
