There is a tree that has fallen across the sideways tree at ground zero making it hard to confirm if still here. There have also been a bunch of rocks moved as well.

Not sure if it's still here if CO could confirm please. It has been a year and a half since last find.
Catching up on logs this one was logged a while back with jennyfromthefarm but not logged on the app back in 6.10.2014
Finally found after numerous trips to Hyde Park. Thanks coronavirus for making us stay away from people.
After a long day of doing tourist things, had a shower and took the youngest daughter for some driving lessons out of area. She did well and I picked up three caches, win win! This was really good precision driving practice!!

Christmas Caching with the Watson/mulley family! 10 adults and 3 kids and this one took us on quite an adventure! Great fun! Tftc
#4347- Some time ago, while all the road works were going on in the area we tried to find this one. But the car GPS wanted to take us down roads that weren't roads and we couldn't find the right way in, so we left it. Since then bikerbuddy had actually been there, so today on our way to Lithgow on business, I mentioned this one just as we were nearing the area. Lots of dirt driving behind houses, a short walk to an impressive area.( An earth cache would be great here) As we went to pull the cache out from its hidey hole, the lid broke in our hands. Replaced with the hole innermost to try and keep it drier, but it will unfortunately need replacing due to how brittle the plastic has become. Signed behind the last person- bancheeof the valley. Thanks- and sorry.....
Found on a hot afternoon after working in the district. A great spot which I wouldn't have known about except for the cache. The locals certainly know about it as there were four other cars in the car park and plenty of splashing noises downstream of GZ. A fav pt from me. Many thanks team stilllookin
Out and about with the Whitemushroom today. Quite a surprising spot I had never been there before and this was a revelation.
A very busy place with dozens of cars at the end of the track and several people heading for the water hole with their beach towels.
Muggles should be no problem as the cache is well away from busy area but don't forget to get down to River Lett you will not be disappointed.
Thanks for another great cache in a great location.

A short walk with rogerw3 along the Ross/Forgotten caves tracks at Mt Victoria left time to seek this cache at Hartley Vale.
The 'mushroom had long looked at A Little Slice of Paradise but with the log of pjmpjm (crossing private property) and others of a large mud boghole to traverse there was a decided lack of enthusiasm. In the past few weeks bikerbuddy and Toriaz logged this cache with the mention the track was drivable/dry.
On the bend maybe 500 metres along Mid Hartley Rd from the highway there is a Crown lands road that runs out to the Hyde Park Reserve. Heavily rutted in a few places - how the 2wds that passed us by or were parked at the reserve made it is a wonder - and not a way after a heavy wet, the dirt track was in reasonable condition, requiring only some common sense to travel.
A short walk from the parking area, first to overlook the granite rock(?) gorge and quiet (one could well believe a platypus in residence) water with a gentle waterfall tinkling in, then up the light incline to the Garmin indicated GZ.
Rocks, and rocks and, well, rocks ... it was a slow peer, look, circle and then a gradually seek to the GZ as the Garmin settled ... a metre or two and the 'mushroom would have arrived where rogerw3 claimed the 'prize'.
A cache not expected to log ... a cache well worth the seek effort.

Bikerbuddy & I finished off the TRLT trail at midday, then did a few along the GWH as we headed to Lithgow for lunch. Bikerbuddy suggested we take a longish detour on the way home to look for his only unfound cache in Hartley Vale.
I remember driving down this road before, while on a caching trip with Canary. There had been a lot of rain before that trip, and I wasn't willing to risk the road. Today was dry, and with careful driving there was no problem with the road. We had a quick walk down to GZ, then a longish hunt for the cache.
We walked down a little way, thought we'd gone too far & went back up then down a slightly different way. Got to the flat rocks without spotting the cache & started back up again. Then bikerbuddy spotted it, right where we had stopped the first time! If only we'd taken a few steps more and looked in the right direction, we would have spotted it much quicker. Anyway, it looks like from the logbook that we were the first cachers to visit this area since February.
Nice area, glad we finally got out here, thanks

Toriaz and I were heading home after completing the TRLT series. However, we were still willing to make a few detours along the way to add to the crippling number of logs we now had to write. This was my last find for the two days, although we did a few more caches for Toriaz after this that I had already found.
We tried to reach this cache a couple of years ago with Canary. It had been raining so the track was wet and not too far down we came to a large puddle in the road with no way of knowing whether it was safe to enter. It was also starting to rain that day, so turning back seemed sensible.
We drove down the same track today with no problems. We parked the car near the sign for the park and walked the last few hundred metres. When we got to the spot we found ourselves stumbling around the rocks, trying to get a fix on where the cache would be, with a few stinging nettles to avoid on the way. When I finally spotted the cache I realised that we had circumnavigated it counter clockwise. It was good to finally log this cache at the end of a good weekend of caching. Thanks

My daughter and I returned for a second attempt and found it this time! TNLNSL. TFTC
Had a good hunt around but it eluded me. This cache is almost in my backyard so I will return to try again!
Found first dirt road from mid Hartley road from highway side to access this, large mud puddle, made me walk the 1200 metres. Great area, quick find, thanks for showing me this area.
After several weeks of trying to find out how to approach this one a curious local confirmed our suspicions. As we left him to ponder is possible caching future we went and took his advice and found the way it. Looks like it would be fun in the wet. We walk the last few hundred metres to gz where we stood and scratch our heads as the hiding places far or numbered hands searching. After a while and a serious case of fading interest geomum stumble upon the offending item. Cache log signed thanks for this one
Followed the river up to GZ from the posted track which turned out to be the more difficult route. Eventually made it to GZ and identified the hiding spot. Found a shorter and more easier and direct route out to finish off the find. SL TFTH
1414 GAFF2 Luckily I had reasonable mapping on the (caching) GPSr, as the car one took down into the estate. And while it was nice and close to cache there was too much private property in between. Turned around and found the track Jenny mentioned, and those 4WDers have certainly had their fun.
Parked the car, and took a walk. While it took us a little while to find the cache the coordinates weren't too far off. As my habit is, I drop my back pack when I get 0 m for GZ, then do an expanding search.
Took about 20 minutes, and seemed to be about 6 m away from where I had left the pack, but when I took another reading it isn't much different to the cache page. Left a Correct Site Marker - surgical marking pen.
Will add a book mark for the Challenging Cache elective.
Brought through for mileage: 12-12-12 Event, 3 Bros NSW, Auckland NZ'13, B 2 B Travel ingot, Iconic Bridges 2012, cache critters Baa, Neigh Neddy, and Oink, NZ Mega 2013 GCookie Coin, and trackable shirts.

Having the offer of a lift south (west) meant I was able to get a few caches I normally wouldn't be able to get to. Didn't have the room to bring my mountain bike along as well, but it would have been a lot easier than the 1.5 km walk.
All good with the cache. Tho may be slightly off the listed coordinates

Had to walk 1.4km in to get this one as did not want to bog the car in a very muddy part of the road. Nice gentle walk into gz and quick find for the cache. TFTC
No luck finding this cache. Looked a couple of times over past few weeks. Probably just me however as a note has been some floods here since last find. Tftc though. I like this area
TFTC and thank you for the great location. Caches like this make it a worthwhile activity. Took TB left bear.
Found after a short search.
moved travel bug here from Advaus So Far Yet So Close

Got out to this one at last. Not many people have looked for this or they have not logged it. A nice place to visit on a warm day or throw a line, and at the moment work being done to make the place even better TFTC.
Beat you to this one AuntyAunty! A good find! Not been cached since September 2010. Yay!
This is our first cache. We also took the short cut through the for sale properties. Found the cache in perfect condition. We decided to take the legal way back. There is no path going from River Lett Close as indicated on the map, it is the (almost) straight road going to Mid Hartley road. It was a LONG walk, but definitely worth it. Strangely, when we arrived back at our car parked in the middle of nowhere, there was someone parked next to us. Maybe they were legit prospective buyers!
I was told about this spot about 2 years ago and could not find it until now. Thanks for the cache that lead us to it. We'll come back for a swim when it is warmer!

This one hadn't been found a nearly a year and -- together with the great name -- it really intrigued me, being located in picturesque Hartley, only about 20 km from the Blue Mountains house.
Arriving via GeoBuru at the end of newly sealed River Lett Close, less than 400 metres from GZ, I found a cul-de-sac of neatly fenced properties and no apparently trail to 'Hyde Park' and 'Paradise.' However, noticing that three properties were advertised for sale ('3-6 hectares, backing on to a reserve') I decided that I was interested in a purchase. Not wanting to bother a Lithgow real estate agent at 4pm on a rainy and windy Sunday afternoon, I set out on my own, to check on whether a particular parcel was really worth the asking price.
At the end of the bush block I did indeed find paradise, or at least a little slice of it, together with the River Lett, several trees and a whole lot of rocks. Lots and lots and lots of rocks. It's a beautiful place, even on a rather gray and rainy day that was more like winter than spring. I can imagine it would be great place to visit on a hot summer's day, to take a dip and enjoy the shade. But there were no signs anywhere and nothing except the GPSr reading to indicate that this was really 'Hyde Park' and the correct GZ.
Anyhow, I finally found the 'regular' tupperware and it was in perfect condition, as if it had been placed only yesterday. Contents were dry and in good shape. TNLNSL. Published coordinates seemed reasonably accurate. But the search took me longer than I expected. There were only a couple of trees, but did I mention that there were an awful lot of rocks? Lots and lots and lots . . .
On my way back to the road, I followed a little trail, hoping that it was a 'public thoroughfare' but it only led me to a tidy little farm and a horse paddock. So I decided to complete my 'inspection' of another one of the properties for sale. I'll upload a few photos and perhaps a geocacher will want to buy a great geocaching site that backs on to a genuine 'little slice of paradise.'
Having now returned home and checked my maps again, I see that there may in fact be a proper trail to 'Hyde Park' running off River Lett Close to the left a bit before the end of the road. It's worth checking out.
Many thanks to team stillooking! I just wonder why no-one has tried to find this geocache during the past twelve months . . .

This is a brilliant place for a cache and does what I like most about caching,.... takes me to places I would not have known about. This is close to our rural property and will now be on our list of swimming holes.

Yes well we can confidently confess we would never even have known of this location - let alone visited it - were it not for the presence of a cache here. We perused the topo map we had with us and proceeded apace. After a brief moment when we thought we were going down someone's drive we realised all was well and carried on to the empty car park. Thence a short meander along the track and the cache was located in a trice - and a nicely stocked container it is.
After completing the cache business we went a wandering to locate the swimming hole. By now another couple of cars had arrived - not surprising as it was a very warm Saturday afternoon - and the occupants were in the fine looking pool. Nice spot.

I was helping Silky across the rocks when she stopped, looked, and said "Found it!"
Yep. There was a wild Sistema container peeking from it's lair.
Hadn't been down this way for years - the turning circle isn't an improvement.

Managed to get back this way and voila! a cache. New turning circle with little parking has been put in, but only a problem in the warmer months. PU Geocoin.
After reading Ropes log I thought I'd use the cover of darkness to get this cache. It looks as though future finders wont be able to drive to GZ as the excavator is blocking the the road to make a short turn-around.
With water running nearby that I couldnt see, it took some time to find this well hidden cache.
Thanks for hunt. TNLN

Well what do you know...finally found what I think is the track in, get to within 500m of GZ and the road is closed, bloke working on grading it. Didn't feel like walking in as he would probably wonder what I was doing, certainly not going for a swim ..Oh well, should be a good track next time I am out that way!
Finally worked out how to get into this area and attempted to find it on the way to the bluies event but the 4ft black cache guardian, sunning itself about 5m from GZ, made me think twice. Came down for a nearby FTF and just had to come in to this one while I was in the area. Took a bit of finding but found it was.

Finally made it back to this one after confurmation that I was in the right area from the owner.

JABs.
As we where heading out of Lithgow a white Nissan X-Trail passed us and we spotted a geocache sticker on the back window. We followed them all the way down the bends up the other side waving at them but they just kept looking straight ahead.
We turned off while they continued towards Vic Pass and we never saw them again.
This is another one of those spots that you would never know about if it wasn’t for caching and it lived up to its name.

We thought we'd give this one a go as we were in the area visiting the owners for a cuppa and some geocaching talk. While we were there JABs dropped in as well and told us that he couldn't find this little sucker - 'even more a reason to have a go' we thought.
Off we went with the geopups (sorry geohounds) and found GZ with no worries. Took a little bit of a search (about 5 min) and we had cache in hand. And as the area was deserted of the Muggle variety we headed down to the swimming hole area and the hounds had a ball.
Thanks Team Stilllookin - a great cache in a beautiful area.

After looking for an access route to this spot on Sunday and not finding one, we just had to stop off and have a go on our way back. Dropped in to see the cache owners who gave me some pointers on where to go. Quite a busy spot with locals by the looks.
Drove down a track away from where the locals were parked and wandered over to find this one, was pretty tough, it was really well hidden. Took it back to the car so the girls could have a look inside. We were sitting there in air conditioned comfort when I looked in the rear view mirror and spy a family walking down the track towards us.
Hmmm. Now they are leaving the track to walk down to the creek right over the top of GZ! Crap, they are setting up "camp" just down from, and in full sight of GZ!! There is no way I can put this back now. Had to hide it elsewhere and let the owners know where to find it to replace it.
Going to come back in a few weeks to look at the swimming hole itself.
Cheers
