Day 7: After staying in Whyalla overnight, today we head to Hahndorf. I was up early and headed out to grab a few Sunday morning hides.
Then we headed out for some brekkie before hitting the road.
Well it’s holiday time again and this year we have planned a road trip East across the Nullarbor to South Australia.
We will be staying in Streaky Bay, Whyalla, Hahndorf, Renmark and Clare before heading for home and making the trip west.
We are looking forward to eating and drinking, exploring and visiting a swag of wonderful places. Of course it wouldn’t be a holiday at all for a Geocacher without plans including a plethora of stops, deviations and distractions for all types of Geocaches.
Our thanks go to all the hiders who make this game what it is.

Love finding places with history or history related caches. This one was no different. Waved at a man waving back at me waving at me waving at him!! Train drivers can be funny, cant they?! Nothing suspicious here, move along!! TYFTC SL TNLN
What an epic journey we have had, just returned home from the holiday of a life time, we managed to catch up with PP2 for some caching at times, oh the memories and laughter!! Now it's time to catch up with the logging, thank you to every CO who has placed caches for us to find along the way TFTC
Easy park and grab. Found it with both Gremlinkids. We are touring SA with our camper trailer and grabbing a few GCs along the way.
TFTC. Sadly looks like destroyed. Can only find scattered sheets of log. Maintenance required.
Fathers Day trip to Whyalla, great day checking out the sights and scenery in and around Whyalla.
Sadly, it's time for us to travel towards home after enjoying a week in Alice - but not without finding caches and enjoying the sights

Found with hevwalker after a much cooler day where we finished the caches we had planned to do at the Conservation Park during the day today due to the high temps and Fire Ban yesterday. We grab this one along the August powertrail after a lovely meal at a local hotel ...we are heading off for home tomorrow and wanted to get as many more caches as we can.....a great team effort on a perfect night to do a power trail.... TFTC
In Whyalla on a 5 day mini break with scramping caching the area while doing some sightseeing...
Our last night so off we went after dinner after dark again...
Tonight it was all about the numbers and the smiles on my page...
Gloves donned for the spiders and pen in hand, scramping found and signed, while I drove...
The caches were found quickly and it did not take too long to get through the trail...this cache seemed to be mixed up in the trail but still found it...
Thanks wombat33

Day 301 (Thursday 25th) of our trip. Caching along the way. In Whyalla today. A total of 11 for the day and 5787 for the trip. TFTC
Whyalla's getting older - and hopefully stronger too. 120 next year !
Out with Jack and Sebastbat for some June Long Weekend Plus fun of our own - as this year's event had been thwarted by a naughty virus! Headed out, umm, this way and that way... plenty of little icons on the map to be converted to smilies
A little more Whyalla, then homeward bound. We'll be back Whyalla - lots we didn't have time for!
We did think the Whyalla map needs some more large caches. Maybe we'll have to bring some back
thanks for the cache wombat33

All the best caches are hidden at a safe social distance
(161m apart, though preferably not vertical distancing !!! )
Caching never stops with some serious help from soap, water, and especially alcohol...
( Good for cache cleanliness and coping with puzzles ! )
Once cacher per 4sqm is easily achieved
Space is good. Fresh air is good. Exercise is good. The great views are very good.
#washyourhands - we don't know where the cache has been!
Gloves are handy - but only if you change them between finds !
#washyourhandsagain please
Support the regions! Hide a cache in the Barossa and another
#keepwashingyourhandsagainandagain
[xx(] If you stay "Covidsafe" you may just avoid a whole bunch of other nasty germs this flu season too
Hand hygiene and keeping safe distances can reduce your chance of common cold, flu, pneumonia, gastro, and a whole bunch of other nasties, as well as that corona thing
Ease your restrictions carefully. But get out and keep fit!
Enjoy caching. It's good for your physical and mental health

TFTC. SL Geo husband had to do battle with the resident Red Back Spider. Lucky it did not bite. Take care when reaching in
Quick park and grab on the way to Port Lincoln for an Easter holiday. TNLNSL. TFTC.

So replaced it today and hope it stays there this time.

We have been travelling since January when we left Geelong and travelled up the centre to Alice then Darwin. We crossed the border into WA at the start of May and completed the Gibbs river road which has been one of the highlights so far
From Broome we travelled to cape leveque to find the best beach ever
From Broome we have then zig zagged from coast to inland to make sure we saw as much as we could
We are travelling along at our own pace and so will cache and see as much of the area as we can
Honestly it’s thank to caching that we get to see so much
TFTC
We have decided to stop in port Augusta for a few days as it seems to always be a place we drive straight through on our way back and forth up and down the centre

DNF unfortunately as it was my first attempt. Driving to Pt Lincoln on holidays.
Quick stop amongst the nearby series...
Nice stop.
Spending a few days in Whyalla and found a few cache, or 300!
Had managed to solve all the puzzles before coming over too.
Of the nearly 300 found on the trip over and back from Adelaide, 95% were found within 50km of Whyalla Central, with approx a dozen dnfs also. Amongst all the finds was my 17000th find.
Also managed a lot of 'unloved' finds too.
What is it with Whyalla and mint tins? lol
TNLNSL
Thanks

Stopped in rest area to make some calls, took advantage of the stop to pick this one, and two more up.
Day 4 of BarnZy and Cravo’s trip from Perth to Adelaide.
Today we travelled from Elliston on the Eyre Peninsula to Whyalla.
We kicked off relatively early, just before sun up and in some intense fog before starting our journey to Whyalla.
We travelled along the Birdseye Highway for the most part of the day, which was a fitting name as we needed an eagle eye to find some of the caches today.
Caching along the highway was good with a great variety of cache containers found, before heading into Lock, which was a very quaint small town, albeit we had little success finding the caches in town.
We moved along the he Cleve Cleaver series which was a great bunch of relatively quick finds, taking just under 2 minutes per cache as we started to get the rhythm of the caches along these parts. Great small power trail which kept us interested with some nice hiding spots.
Continuing along the highway we caches through Cleve, grabbing a few of the nifty letterbox hybrid hides which were most fun, were trying to collect more letterboxes which makes these caches really valuable.
After leaving Cleve we continued along the highway to Cowell, where we enjoyed a nice hot beef roll from the bakery for lunch before continuing up the Lincoln Highway towards Whyalla.
We arrived in Whyalla a little earlier than planned which was good as we had planned to complete the August series trail by torchlight. Before we completed the August series we eyed off a D5 cache Honeymoon Hilton which was an absolutely brilliant cache at a well staged ground zero and a brilliant hide, thankfully we didn’t have to resort to phoning the CO.
We then turned our attention to the August series and loved the quick finds of well setup containers. I thoroughly enjoyed the series.
We then cached around town and managed to pickup the 5/5 Schoolies Challenge, which we had managed to qualify quite some time ago.
We finished up with a great dinner at the camp kitchen at the caravan park we’re staying at.
Great day out and can’t wait to tackle the other Whyalla power trail tomorow.

Day 4 of the Perth to Adelaide trip where we started in Elliston and ended in Whyalla.
Today was about finding as many caches as possible and starting / warming up to the larger power trails that bought is over here.
We completed the cleve clever series with a find every 2 minutes, and the August series with around 2 finds a minute.
The day started with a slight sleep in as the travell today was considerably less all up after the 4th day 2900km travelled.
During the morning we would of done most of it through thick fog yet again for the rest half hour despite a later start to
Anyway we made more tracks to Cleve, Cowell and many more in between.
The day also included B12 getting his 11000th cache on cache “August 11” and a total find tally of 112 caches.
wombat33 I found your cache Centenary Rocks thanks for placing this hide for myself and others to find.
Dunsborough is where it’s all at this year check it out at GC7GXQA October 13th + 14th. Hope to see you all there at WA Goes Big 2018.
