A quick find here on our way past today, cache is all goodCourtneyrose_ and I headed fora weekend away to Kangaroo Island, we came to check out the sights plus to compete in the Marathon. A great weekend away with a few caches found along the way. Thanks for the cache
Whrend unseres Aufenthalts in Sdaustralien kamen wir auch hier vorbei. Danke frs Herfhren und Zeigen dieses speziellen Ortes.
During our two-month trip through New Zealand and Australia, we arrived in Victor Harbor yesterday and today we travel to Kangaroo Island. This cache was found during our explorations.**Hurtle**, thanks for the cache.
We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Singapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. We had about three weeks in New Zealand which went by too quickly. The remaining five weeks are spent in Australia. Yesterday we took the ferry to Kangaroo Island. This morning we have visited Seal Bay and Little Sahara after which we headed to Flinders Chase National Park for a look at the Remarkable Rocks and the Admirals Arch. On our way back to our B&B we drove via Parndana for a bite and also visited this cache. The place was deserted so no problem looking for this cache. The cache was found quickly and in good order. Thank you very much for this cache.
We have arrived on Kangaroo Island for a 5 day break. We first had this trip planned several years back but that year KI had an extreme fire situation happen and we were offered a refund on our trip which we took. We have waited this long so that the island could regrow and show herself at her best. We have been using geocaching to guide us around and two days into our break we can certainly attest to her beauty. The caching has been interesting and we have many earth caches to write up and send to COs. All the caches we have found so far are in good condition. We did replace one log sheet. SL TFTC
Over in Kangaroo island for a weeks fishing trip with a few caches along the way. Quick walk and grab TFTC

Today, Geoturtle37 and I made a lightning fast trip around KI as there are no ferry trips for days due to the long weekend.Pleased that this was a nice quick mind as our time is extremely short and this was a have to according to GT37. Thanks for placing the cache for all to enjoy.
We have visited a number of soldier settlements of which only one had done quite well and was still expanding. This was a cache that I really wanted to find, which we did, as it is an older cache. Pleased to have a smiley on the map here now. Thank you.
Easy cache to find with Rach1eB and saw an echidna on route through the town.
Day #4 Leaping Forward AdventuresI had made it to Cape Jervis overnight and met up with Posums for our Kangaroo Island adventure. An early morning ferry across today and the adventures begin. We made our way further north now to eventually get back to our accomodation for the evening. Posums driving hadnt been too bad, except for him insisting he was driving a bus and accidentally using all the bus entry zones. We grabbed a quick bite to eat here and set off to nab this cache. Thanks Hurtle for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. ----------------------------------------------------------The Ballarat GeoTour ends on 4 March 2024! Well after a whirl wind tour of Tasmania to help with 3 challenges that Im working on, I got back in late Tuesday night then packed the Geowagon and headed off to SA early Wednesday morning to attend the Leap Year Mega and to also tick off some LGAs along the way as well.Well after crossing the border the other day and staying in Millicent then, Wellington and Cape Jervis last night its now time for more LGAs and head over to Kangaroo Island for a couple of days.Kangaroo Island has been on my bucket list for years and so after picking up Roaming Howie this morning from his accommodation he has to squeeze into the Geowagon for a couple of days and put up with my driving. So we have arrived on to the Island and our Geocaching expedition has begun and lets see how much we can explore in a day and a half. After visiting the Flinders Chase NP in the South West corner of the island we are making our way along the northern section.Heading through the middle now and we called into Parndana to grab a bite to eat and to,also find a couple of caches.A nice little town that was very quiet today so it made for a quick easy find.We added our names to the log and we were on our way. Thanks Hurtle TFTC.
bunadoorian and I were with our muggle friends at the nearby Wildlife Park. Afterwards we came here for us to find a cache and for our friends to have some time in the playground with their granddaughter. bunadoorian soon had his hands on the cache. TFTC and for bringing us here - Hurtle.
Grub62 and I were visiting the nearby wildlife park and thought we would drop by for a cache too. Nice little hide all in good condition.NTNL, TFTC.
Day 7 of my trip to SA with barb2e. Originally, we were only going to Adelaide, but barb2e had the brilliant idea of adding KI to the trip, so here we are. This is one of the caches we found today. Thanks to all COs for placing and maintaining these caches, which add to our enjoyment of the game and your island. SL
Day 7 of my escape to Adelaide with Smittengranny and collecting a few targeted caches and LGAs. Enjoyed a morning in Kingscote, KI andnowlu ch in Pardana. Tftc
Keep bumping into doddlingalong who were having a much needed coffee at the bakery. Nice to share stories and both of us had previously visited the park full of kids. So after the cuppa , made a beeline to the park and soon had cache in hand as only one family and they were distracted by a bawling toddler Thanks Hurtle for bringing me here and contributing to this great game for others to enjoy. Happy trails, Deanside
Skipped this one earlier in the day cos there were mini muggles everywhere ?? came back later thinking all should be quiet only to find bigger mini muggles loitering noisily around ?? a bit of stealth soon had the prize though I suspect the muggles weren't the least bit interested in an old fart wandering around ??

Great spot for the whole family

Found, but the container is squashed and log is damp and disintegrating. I managed to find a spot to sign. Lovely shelter area in the park for our morning coffee. TFTC

Seems all good with this one... Clearing the red spanner... and adjusting the co-ords, thanks Dr Owl.
Owl is on Kangaroo Island with Ostrich, Magpie and Bowerbird to celebrate the 80 year friendship of Magpie and Bowerbird. The one advantage for Owl is that Bowerbird is the Magnificent Muggle and absolutely insists on Owl caching. Of course, Owl is happy to oblige. This was a nice detour but the cache was only found using the hint and past logs. Don't know if it's been moved, but better coordinates might be: S 35° 47.309 E 137° 15.638.
Stopped in Parndana for a quick lunch on our way across the island. Didn't have time for the two local Whereigos, but a traditional in a park? Sure! We circled a bit before expanding our search area, and uncovered the prize before long. Log was too soggy to sign, but otherwise all good. Did a few reps on the cool gym equipment on our way out, too! TFTC from Tennessee, USA
Came back for a better look using hint this time
Quick to find

Found on our family holiday to Kangaroo Island. Day 3 on the island meant a big day trip to Flinders Chase. We found this hide on the way back to our accommodation for the night. All is well with the hide. TFTC TeamHurtle.
Thanks for the cache. Container squashed, book ok, gps had me going in circles. Finally grabbed it through the fence. And the good thing, it’s still here. So many KI ones aren’t
In town for a pit stop and thought we’d check this one out. Had a good look despite the muggles but unfortunately could not find. We will hopefully be back to search again! TFTH
In all our travels we would not have even thought to travel to this location.

I am visiting KI to maintain a cache that ended up being replaced by Liz and Bruce yesterday. But as the travel and accommodation was already was booked here we are with some spare time to catch up on unfound caches on the island and to show my international nephew some of the attractions and sights. He's not into geocaching but is loving the island.
It was Parndana show day today and there were a lot of people out and about. Didn't stop us finding the cache though. The coords were a little out but the hint made it really easy.
Thanks Hurtle for placing and maintaining the cache

Thanks for arranging and hiding. Good to be having a look around the area. Caching with Wollaston and SeasonedBird. Placed in a new log scroll.
On the move to Kingscote via Pardana and Stokes Bay. Collected the caches in Pardana and then a big walk and lunch at the beach. We were lucky again with the weather today it was threatening but we didn’t get wet.
Quickly found the cache but there was no log book added a piece of paper but see that Liz and Bruce crew have now added a new log book.

Found it while exploring the general area. Was unable to sign logbook as it had disintegrated. Unfortunately I don't have any paper with me.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Oops, seems we inadvertently uploaded the draft log. Now edited.
Day 3 of our 6 night break on the Island. Again the weather was great to traverse the island from cache to cache taking in the scenery. We arrived at the given coordinates and according to GZ we were at a few trees in the park and searched using the hint with no luck. We were about to give up however noticed something that might match the hint some 10 meters away. Uncovering the hide we found a semi crushed container containing a soaked and slimey log paper. One thing we forgot to pack for the trip were replacement containers and log books else we would have replaced the cache. Thank you for the placement of the Welcome to Soldier Town cache Hurtle find number 8461 on 11 September 2021 at 4:28 pm
Mr and Mrs Parrot took a trip overseas to Kangaroo island for the week.
We had a lovely time finding caches and interacting with the people selling produce and food to the public.
It fabulous to see the green starting to come back into the fire ravaged areas. We had hired a house in Kingscote and ventured out each day in a different direction to see the sights and what the island had t off.
We also picked up 60 odd caches along the way.
My thanks for the quick responses to the Geocaches and the virtual cache which we sorted out before logging.
It was good to be able to complete Wonders of the world and become an Ultimate Explorer during my stay.
It certainly wasn't where I expected and the hint is no longer valid as the bush isn't there glad of the 90 degree reference

Cold and windy but a quick find. Pardon but the log was quite wet so that to extract it risked turning it to papier-mâché and not writable anyway.TFTC Hurtle. Found 15/5/21 2:27 pm. Cache 1936 for us.

Found while making our way to stokes bay then to emu day for our last day on the island. Geo kids found this one then had a quick run around. TFTC
We were very lucky to be able to spend time with family on the Island and introduced our grandson to caching. He had a great time seeing the wildlife, playing on a playground and finding 'treasure'.

We were on the Island with TubbyBooBoo and ZoBo01. We spent a while searching but the gps was jumping all over, we just couldnt find this tricky cache. Parndana looks like a lovely little town.
Removed a harassing NM log by LL, now making this entry to remove the resultant red spanner.
Go harass someone else LL
When you learn to write more on a found log of a cache of mine, than you do on a NM log... then you might get some respect... grow up!

On Kangaroo Island for several days and finding caches as we head to various interesting places on the island. Thanks to the COs for placing these caches and enhancing our visit to the area.
Out today caching on Day 3 of our KI trip. Ventured on sealed and unsealed road through the countryside. Thank you to the CO's for placing the caches. Thoroughly enjoyed finding the caches. Sorry about the generic log TFTC TeamHurtle
Having some R&R in Kangaroo Island, staying with Dunmowin during the Christmas New Year week. Today we headed out to do some sightseeing and of course grab a few caches. A quick find and sign! TFTC
Stopped at this town to grab some groceries and to let the kids have a play. Picked this one up while we were here. Tftc
Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Where ever possible, we will maintain your cache as we travel.
We are here visiting, house and farm sitting for three months. There are only 88 caches on the island. Hope we get smilie faces on all of them.
Heading back from the west end towards Stokes Bay, called into Parndarna for fuel, food and dump point
After using the caravan facility outside the park, we had our coffee and cache. Well cameoed from muggles, but easy for cachers to find. Thanks TeamHurtle for the hunt

At the request of the CO I checked this cache. Well and truly gone. Replaced it within the same park but away from the play equipment and away from the toilet block, Cache is now a black painted mint tin (sorry nothing bigger was really possible in such a well maintained park) at the base of a tree..... behind a small sawn off section of timber that was conveniently nearby. It contains a bagged logbook. New co ordinates are S 35 47.311 E 137 15.645
I had a brief look but was discouraged by the previous DNFs... a CO check would be good.
We came we looked but no cache for us today. Hopefully I can revisit this one day soon.
We came along this evening while driving over the island.

Unfortunately we only had one full day on Kangaroo Island. So we had to pick and choose the locations carefully. We started our day at Seal Bay Conservation Park. After a nice walk at the beach we went to see the seals. We continued to Hanson Bay Koala Sanctuary and then went to Admiral’s Arch and remarkable rocks. Before we went back to Parndana we took a detour to Stokes Bay Beach.
