I printed this one off 2 months ago and put it in my "when I get around to it" pile. Well, I finally got around to it today. The garden was awesome and the owner came out and we had a good chat while the kids took photos of rocks.
I found the clue, but when I logged back on to put the clue into the coords I found it had been taken offline Sad
oh well, it was worth it just for the visit to the garden.
Pkk...

I walk my dog past this cache every day, it hasn't been in its spot for a long time. Owner needs to fix or archive !!

Cache appears to have been muggled - Perhaps a status check from the CO is in order.

DNF @ 23:05 with Kellyhaunts. This place is really impressive, we spent some time looking at the displays, and chose the wrong information in haste. Once the improbable GZ was calculated we looked about a bit more and revised the calcs. Once at GZ we found the cache location, but no cache. However, all was not lost - we found Theodore Chipmunk. Let me tell you, when a hidden toy starts talking to you in the middle of the night when you're looking for a cache, it is a tad unsettling. Thanks for the cache anyway, and a favourite point from me for taking me to WP1 (if I could, but as I haven't found it I can't add one).

07-Dec-11
Found little Theodore BUT no cache. Excellent display of rocks and a well put together mutli - flowed smoothly.

Thx for the cache.

03-Dec-11
I was by here last weekend. Loved the rock display. Is this getting back online anytime soon?

07-Nov-11
Wow! What a great rock display. Couldn't find the cache yesterday but silly me forgot to look at the hint so returned there today and looked again (even tho' we'd had a good look where the hint indicated anyway). No luck again so checked with the owner and it looks like it has gone. When I do eventually get to find this I'll give it a fav for showing us the amazing rock display. Thanks ghellard.

07-Sep-11
Found it today - I agree it is a GEM of a cache. Amazing the detail in the garden. There were some cricket players in the nets but I was able to retrieve the cache okay. Cache is not very well camouflaged but then maybe this is intentional - took nothing, left nothing and signed log.

What an amazing rock garden. The stranger helped me out, and I enjoyed many points of discussion with the tradesman working next door. Cache was eventually located but is very visible from a certain angle. I was unable to add any camouflage.

02-Aug-11
After a pie I set C:Geo on the dash-mounted Android phone onto live map mode and cruised westwards cache hunting. This multi came up and I realised that it was one that JosieY had raved about to me after she had doen it with two geokids. A stranger soon loomed and assisted me with the final co-ordinates. The cache container is brazenly located and I could not make it more secret.

20-Jul-11
What an amazing garden. I found a stranger to help me early on but kept looking because the display was brilliant. Eventually I had to move on and when I arrived at GZ I was amazed at how visible it is. Lots of kids doing footy practice but a quick grab and off I ducked to sign the log. When I returned the cache I tried to make it less conspicuous. A great cache and thanks for putting it together. TNLN.

... maybe I will try again

This GEM of a cache is a good advertisement for caching. It's got it all! Kids loved it, particularly needing to be picked up to retrieve and replace the cache then do it again to put the pen back. I recommend doing the first stage in the day and the second in the night.

Found at 1105. WOW is about all I can say about this cache!! So much effort by the owners and nice to see that it is respected!! Spend a little time reading the info displayed!!! This is definitely going to be added to my favourites. Finally moved on to find the treasure - luckily park was very quiet as stealth was a little difficult with my height but did get it eventually!!
NO TB's in here as stated TNLN SL TFTC

Mario wasn't about today unfortunately but still spent heaps of time looking at the collection. Most people keep their colostomies locked up or on display in the pool room, good to be able to share one man's passion in such a way. Found the cache quickly but had to wait for a golf playing muggle then a dog walker. Hard to be inconspicuous with this hide. TNLNSL TFTC there is no sign of the TBs in this cache

What an amazing display, went to school near here and have never seen this before - a must visit for cachers!!!
Great multi too, takes you to a very good GZ, used to lay tennis and fly the boxkite here in 1976.

Mario was in his front yard as we pulled up so the Chief went over and introduced himself and told him a friend had told us about his amazing garden. A 40 minute conversation ensued leaping from mining, the 'Hand of God' nugget that was found by his friends, quantum physics, subatomic particle theory, Einstein and using scientific theory to prove the existence of God. What an interesting man! The cache was just an added bonus! Thank you, thank you for this experience. He is truly a fascinating man!!

Amazing rock collection, my grandparents had a similar collection which brought back some childhood memories.
Very intresting. The details were found within few a mintues while in stealth mode. GZ calculated and found within mintues made easy by the fact that it was now dark. Cool Really enjoy this one.

02-Jan-11
Found with Pathfinder24 and LouiseAnn. Very impressive rock collection. Thanks

02-Jan-11
A lot of work has gone into this very cool front garden. LouiseAnn was very excited by all the shinies. Found cache easily as it was very exposed, Ostara74 added some camoflage when replacing it, so now less obvious to muggles but still pretty obvious to cachers. Thanks.

That is one impressive garden and certainly worth a visit. This is definitely a case where I would say that if it wasn't for caching I would not have known about it. Thanks for the cache.

16/11/2010 08:15 Found: #105 Quick find this evening. Stopped by for a quick look and to pick up the clue before nipping around the corner to another meeting. Mario (the owner) saw me and came over for a chat about his rocks. Likes to have a chat and I am pretty sure I got the shortened version. Even after I excused myself and got into the car, he followed me so he could continue telling me his various theories of "life and the universe" through the window. After finally getting away I was late for my meeting (where I did the GZ calculations) and came back after dark to a quick find. TFTC TN Left Tracy the Traveling Turtle (TB2VM5Y).

Being on my ride home, I'd swung past a few weeks ago to grab the necessary details, and then rode through the park towards home only to be able to spy the cache before I'd even plugged in the numbers. Highly exposed.... but too many muggles to make a safe grab.

The next time was just as bad. Cricketing muggles.

Today I went past again on the off chance it was quiet, and luckily - despite school holidays - it was! Cache still in plain sight. Amazed it hasn't been removed...

Investigated to find not much in the cache. TBs/coins appear to be gone. I at least couldn't see them and there wasn't much in there (apart from a couple of trinkets and a baggie of grass clippings!). Removed the clippings (at least, I hope they're clippings or I'm just guilty of trafficking!) and put in some glow bracelets.... Then returned and tried to camouflage somewhat better.

TFTC.... another 'on the way home' cache knocked off the list!

Well we arrived at the first WP and the owner was out the front tending to his special garden (setting up some lights to make certain parts glow) so I looked at my sheet to see what info we needed and then stuck a pen in my pocket and left the sheet in the car lolol
We went over and started looking and he gave us a guided tour and thankfully during this time I was able to gain the info and sneakily write it on my hand while GMelb was talking to him lol. This garden is pretty amazing so thanks for bringing us here again (we had visited it once before about 5 years ago when my sister saw it on tv) Once he had finished the tour we set off in the car to work out the co-ordinates NOT under his watchful eye so approached the final WP from the carpark around the other side. We saw the container from about 50 metres away..... when we opened the log book the last entry was from some muggles (Lewie, Robo and Bono(?)) who said they had found it by accident and had made some swaps..... there was a bag of pine needles in the container!!!! Hmm interesting swap!! A cricket match was being played and so we sat and watched so GMelb retrieved and replaced during the action so we wouldnt be noticed lol. Goodness voices carry well there and we certainly heard some colourful language from the players!! lol
Took nothing, left red heart slinky
TFTC teflonboy - we re-hid it a bit better and then continued our walk around the rest of the perimiter of the cricket ground as tho we were out on a walk and had just sat there for a rest lol

What an amazing front garden - definitely not what I expected. It would do any museum proud. Once I'd calculated the final co-ordinates, a quick check revealed that there was a grounds keeper's convention going on all around GZ.

It was lunch time, and there were 8 trucks (many with trailers) and a couple of utes, with over 10 men in bright yellow jackets milling around. There was no chance of getting to the cache without being noticed, so I moved on to the next cache.

Later in the day, when it was almost dark and the park was empty, I returned for a quick find. It was quite visible, so when I returned it to its hiding spot, I tried to ensure that it was harder to find. Thanks for the the cache, and for showing me this unique garden.

Took the family here after swimming/ going to the bakery on middelbourgh rd.. The display is absoulutlely amazing, however I felt a bit weird getting out of the car and gawking at the display,, especially with one of the neighbours glaring at us..

Out for a bit of night caching; which in hindsight was a shame, because the garden looks amazing. I'll have to return during daylight hours to fully appreciate it. It got me thinking this morning that this is one of the great benefits of geocaching: people sharing their local knowledge and perspective. I'll bet everyone around this 'burb knows about this garden, but I'd never have found out about it without caching, so thanks for the cache.
Took a toy soldier; left an amber stone.
Didn't find the geocoin that is supposedly in this cache. This seems to be happening alot when I visit caches expecting to find geocoins.

This cache has been moved a little and refurbished with a new log book. The cache originally had a fake rock as the hide but was regularly muggled. It has been changed to a regular hide to ensure it's security! The theme remains geological!

31-May-09
new log book in place and hide enabled.

24-Mar-09
Cache off line for a week or so for maintenance.

21-Feb-09
Wonderful display and totally unexpected.

An easy find, but unfortunately the cache container has been fairly damaged at some point. It doesn't look like it'll remain undetected much longer.

Furthermore, it isn't in the spot I would've expected it to be. I suspect it was originally placed about 10m away (i.e. at the spot where the GPS said it should be), but it's been moved into a much more "accessible by muggles" spot.

Regardless of this, it's a great cache. TNLN

21-Feb-09
Cache container is broken, and is fairly obviously not what it seems at this point. Not sure how easy it'll be to repair it, but I don't think it'll last too much longer in its present state

Congratulations on finding such an amazing front yard ( don't think that you could it agarden) It really kept me there a while trying to take it all in. You can see what do with their weekends. The regular dog walkers were about so I had to do the rear retrieve. Very interesting hide. Appreciate the work and information,
Thanks for the cache. I am spreading the word about the front yard experience, I think they should charge.

I was just beginning to think that all Melbourne caches were second-rate next to Canberra's. I was even considering whether it was worth continuing to search for caches on my trip back to my home town, until I came across this one.

It had it all,

1. It took me to a place I never knew existed, even though WP1 is just around the corner from my friend's house, which I have been visiting for 15 years.

2. It was a very clever hide,

3. Both waypoints has a common theme.

Thank you very much.

We found our 6th Teflon Boy cache at 11:10am as the 1st of 12 on a roundabout route to our Mornington Peninsula caching afternoon. I had dallied in getting this cache when it was first available and when it went offline for over 7 months, I thought that my chance had passed. Right on the death knell, the cache came back from the dead like Lazarus and we were very thankful as it was one of the finest WPs we have seen ever. A fantastic sight to behold was this labour of love and the final cache was nicely done too. Long live Rock Around the World the Second. Thanks for the cache from D & H B-A.

Footnote: On completing this cache we broke our previous record of 628 caches in a year from 2006 as this cache is #629 for 2008.

Wow, that is some collection. It's a wonder this stuff doesn't get nicked more often. I felt a little strange reading through everything, but there were no strangers about and i made my guess well. Co-ords seemed to be 5-10m off, but the clue narrowed it down. Nice cache Smile

Found at 11.40am. This was an incredible display - was not expecting it to be set up like this. Very informative too - wouldn't mind a gold nugget or two of our own!
The cache contained only one geocoin, DragonSpinner which we took. Left Michigan License Plate geocoin. The Diabetes geocoin was collected by mumof2 on 3/1/08 according to the logs for the cache, but no log has been made for the coin itself.
Thanks for the fantastic cache - we loved it.

Cache # 1 of 29 in company with acts2youthgroup in our 'clean up the northern suburbs' day. We found this one at 0655. I had worked out the final coordinates for this cache a couple of weeks ago, but didn't have the opportunity of logging the cache until now. The rocks and minerals display is a ripper! I'm really glad that I visited the advertised coordinates. I made no exchange. I didn't see any geocoins or TBs in the cache. Thanks to teflonboy for the cache, Cheers, dak.

Wow - what an amazing display. Had to drag the kids and geowife away in the end or they would probably still be there!. Terrific cache. Thanks Teflon Boy. (Cute container too)

20-Jan-08
After reading the previous logs with great interest nothing could prepare me for what greeted me at this gem of a spot (couldn't avoid the bad pun I'm afraid.) This is exactly the sort of example urban caching should aspire to, something spectacular and of great interest with a cache container to match the theme. Top marks Teflonboy for your efforts, I loved the location and even had to drive past the following day for another look.

Cheers,

This certainly was an interesting cache to visit. The display was magnificent and after the nights rain, everything sparkled. We spent about 30 minutes here reading all the info . After that we headed off to GZ where we made an easy find. Had to be careful of a muggle on the oval, but we managed to sign the log between laps at 1130 hrs. TNLN
Thanks teflonboy for another interesting cache idea.

Found 12:45, this was a great cache with which to reacquaint ourselves with Melbourne caching Cool a great location that we wouldn't have otherwise found, and the cache camo fitted nicely with the theme of the cache.

Took nothing but left a geocoin from Spain, CSI=4, thanks teflonboy for a great welcome home Big Grin

Found at 4.45pm GAFF1. What a coincidence - on two counts! Firstly we had stumbled onto this location about 15 months ago and were wanting to place a cache to highlight the incredible display - but do you think we could remember where it was? At least now we do!
Secondly the hiding method is exactly what p-pprass had planned for the next hide - that is a good job we must say.
Thanks teflonboy for placing a cache here, it is an amazing display and we wonder if the owner has a guard dog at night to stop people taking bits and pieces. tn/ln

This was nothing like we expected to see, it certainly is an amazing display. After collecting the required information we spent quite a bit of time admiring the rest of the garden before heading off to gz where Diane had the cache in hand very quickly. We liked the camo job on the container.
Took nothing but left a couple Tb's and a geocoin
Thanks teflonboy for a very interesting and enjoyable cache

Sometimes you find an urban cache that really deserves a title of excellent location and good hide and this is one of them. Congratulations to Teflonboy for placing a cache here and a great camouflaged container.Big Grin
The cache was easily found and duly logged due to a good set of coordinates and the fact that there was not many other locations you could hide a cache here.Cool[^].

A really interesting spot at WP1. I spent a little while there looking both before and after finding the info. The cache was an easy find at gz even without looking at the clue - but its still a good hiding job. thanks for a good cache teflonboy.
