No luck here. It would be great if the cache owner could confirm it is still there,
Thanks anyway waitaki999. Stats for our trip can be found here http://www.campersdownunder.com.au/geocaching/NZTrip/stats2.html

3 Kiwis & 3 Aussies looked suspicious to the locals - we were just wanting to know what type of tree this was that had all the prickles and no cache.
An interesting wrestle with the prickly shrub, then we widened our search, but no joy.
We should have read the logs as we spent quite some time here looking. The only good thing to come out of it was that we met some Aussie cachers here looking too. We had seen them heading for a cache in Timaru that we had just signed so it was nice to actually meet them. They must have leapfrogged us as we stopped elsewhere. The locals seem to be interested in people who stop here.
We knew there were quite a few DNF's but we thought we'd give it a crack. Had a little poke around before a Maui campervan pulled up near GZ, and that was the end of that!!
Yet another not found to join the growing list. Very prickly tree and all the pricks and scratches for nothing.
Same as previous log. While this is a good location for a cache, I'm sure a more appropriate hiding spot could be found. Cheers.
i looked, i rooted around and i got pricked and scratched badly. still no find. might want to check its still there.
Had a good look around as it hurt. Even had a tool to maybe knock it about but it didnt help any.
Spent a bit of time crawling round in the prickly bush. No luck. Will come again another day.
Will try this one again some time, with gardening gloves. Those prickles are nasty! The lawn clippings are rather deep in places too. Not a fun cache today.
Staying with sister in Waimate. We have placed some NW merchandice in some of the boxes please feel free to take them with you there are "Pin bages, Cards and Key rings"
Not an easy find with lots of muggles driving past. and a lot of prickles.

Layer of grass clippings on top of prickles doesn't deter prickles but sure hindered us.
Found it but was prickled to death in the process. GZ needs a trim to allow unimpeded access. Cheers.
Very prickly today. So much so it did not want to give up its secrets. Till next time....
SIT AT TABLE AND AAAAAHHHH BUGS COME FROM CACHE!!!!!! Took a trip from Canada to New Zealand to visit my brother and nephew over Christmas. Did some caching and was taken to some pretty amazing places. Thanks for the cache!
Found this one during our geocaching trip around Timaru region.
Put some small stone and piece of puzzle in the cache.
Thanks and greetings from Latvia!

#4444 13:48 Don't think I have ever found a cache hidden under one of these before!
Found while on a trip from Australia to Queenstown for a work conference with my mate Marshy (Blacklegend17) who came along for the ride. One of 220 finds for the 8 days we were on the South Island. Found while heading up to Timaru. Just past midnight and its officially our last day in NZ. Thanks for the hide.
Second last day of our NZ caching adventure with Quasar3671 aka The Ruddman aka Marty..... Our travels took us from from Christchurch via Queenstown for 5 days then to Dunedin and finally up the East Coast for a caching onslaught.... This cache was one find of 64 for this caching run and more than 70 for the 24th.
Quick find and not far from Timaru now. Number 59 for the day.

Found: 19/05/2010 13:37 . Find #30 for this trip around the SI. I didn't see any golf balls nor hear any cries of FORE but I did manage to find the cache

Wazza and the Wenches have invaded NZ on a (caching) holiday. Surprisingly the Wench is happy for BBTD and Wazza to chase caches wherever we go.
Today it was Dunedin to Christchurch. 4.5hr drive that took just over 11 hours. Would have been a lot quicker if we didn't stop every couple of km to find a cache
It's been a good caching day so far with very little trouble finding any of the caches. This was more of the same result...a quick find then a few more miles.

Found with sparkyhurst - We were in Moeraki fishing - took a couple of attempts to find this one as we were having technical difficulties with the GPS but we sorted it out eventually with some help of a local muggle - watch out for sharp needles at ground level - TFTH - left a LED torch & took Geocoin GGMFJR - will place in South Canterbury somewhere soon .
Nicely hidden cache - apart from the very prickly camoflage!!!
Thanks for the cache!!
Thanks for the cache!!
After a long drive South, it was time for a break and morning tea at St Andrews. After gobbling our food at the Gobble café, we headed out for the cache. Nice stop for a cache. Thanks waitaki999 for the cache.
When we got back to the car and I put on my glasses we found that the GC we had picked up wasn't to leave S. Canterbury so had to stop here to follow instructions. Whew!
1730hrs How come the old leaves are such fine prickles, they're mean. Used a stick. The Italian Job was here....! Our blog www.motorhominginxs.blogspot.com
2nd visit for this as 1st visit foiled by muggles. Found cache a little exposed so re-hid further in . TFTC
A nice quick find, thanks! Every time I drive past this town I always think of St Andrews golf course in Scotland...
#1028 (1/5 CHC -> DUD to attend son's graduation). A bit tricky to get at, but Troodles found a way.
DNF
Found the prickly plant, but not the cache... on a strict time limit, so until next time.

This one was made very difficult by the Mower man next door. We thought we had located the hiding place (based on other logs) but we were unable to do a thorough search because the mower muggle and his wife kept watching us.
Quick find. Left an emergency logbook (no room in the old one) and a new baggie. Thanks for the cache.
Well overdue for a logging session - will have to get better at logging! TFTC
Found with Johnnygoescaching on trip to Timaru

TFTC, one of 41 caches on the johnnygoescaching trip to Timaru. Sorry for another cut and paste job (logging 48 caches today).
Just what we needed. An great excuse to stretch the legs, on the long journey down SH1. took mushroom coin. TFTC
Have tried to find this one previously but last night by torch managed to sign the log. I have reminders of this cache this morning down my arms and through my sweatshirt, it shows me you have to look everywhere!
Thanks
