Would it be possible for the cache owner to check on this cache to make sure it is still there? There have been a couple of DNFs and it sounds like the cache location has been found but with no cache present. Sad

Thanks and cheers, riokun

04-Feb-17
Could this please be archived as has not been found for quiet sometime, lots of DNF's noted but owner has not checked.

02-Feb-17
Probably should have looked at the logs before trying this one. Found perfect location but alas no cache.

02-Feb-17
Doing this as a family of geos one of us should checked other logs first but no we rushed in and could not find it then read logs to find it had gone

02-Feb-17
After doing the night cache here we went for another walk in the dark only to see that there had been prior DNFs on this one. 1 being a confirmed cache gone by a previous finder.this should now be archived.

Did Not Find with morry9 #DNFpride

After coming past the Stony Range Botanic Gardens yesterday evening, only to find the gates locked (despite the council’s website saying the garden was open until 8 PM), we returned in the morning to try for the First To Find again at the newly published ‘Stony Range Earthcache’. Morry9 and I met bella at waggy at the published co-ordinates (this time the gate was already unlocked and open), and we worked through the Earth Cache activity. Bella at waggy emailed our answers off to the Cache Owner and it was not long before we received a reply confirming we were the joint First To Find. Before leaving the gardens, morry9 and I also found the nearby ‘Stony Range’ Traditional Cache.

On the way back, we went via Chatswood to finish off the ‘Upstanding Citizens of Chatswood’ Multi Cache. We had collected the answers on a previous visit and I had worked out the final co-ordinates at home. We noticed the area around one of the waypoints has had a serious face lift since we were here last but we checked and the clue is still available for subsequent finders of the cache.

Not long after returning, I noticed another new cache had recently been published over at Rhodes, ‘Become a Rhodes Scholar Part 3’. I called morry9 and he did a 180 and came back over to meet me. We drove over to Rhodes together to check out the new cache in the Become a Rhodes Scholar series. Unfortunately there was a constant flow of foot traffic at Ground Zero, with no clear break in sight, so we decided we would come back later that night. As we were heading back to the car, another new cache had popped up. It was morry9’s new Multi Cache over in Lane Cove, ‘Come potter around Pottery Green’, he said he was happy to come for the ride while I went for it, so we headed over. Kid Ron Satan met us over at Pottery Green and we made the joint First To Find together, while morry9 watched on in anticipation.

Later that evening we headed over to Eric Mobbs Reserve and Bidgigal Reserve to attempt the caches hidden in the bushland there, including a new Multi Cache. We were joint First To Find ‘Bidgigal Night Cache #2’, and also found ‘Under Stone’, ‘Hayden's Hide’ and ‘Bidjigal Night Cache’; but had to log a Did Not Find at the ‘Excelsior’ Mystery Cache.

We were hoping by now the Bennelong Bridge over at Rhodes was much quieter and picked up Jase90 on the way. To our surprise the bridge was still quite busy but we managed to make the find during a momentary break. To our delight we were also the joint First To Find at the ‘Become a Rhodes Scholar Part 3’! According to the Cache Owner, this makes us “full legend!” haha Smile A great cache to top off an unsuspectingly long, but successful day out caching.

Thanks For The Caches to the respective Cache Owners!

Found it on a pleasant Sunday morning. I thought I'd clear out a few caches around Castle Hill. I had never been to this reserve before and really enjoyed this cache and the bush. This one was a bit of fun and my favourite type of container. A favourite point for this one. TFTC

Great Cache! Our Geofamily headed out for an adventure. We really enjoyed this Cache, thank you ! Ammo box dry and in good order, signed and bubbles exchanged for space alien thank you !

Most of my closest caches to home are mystery caches but most of them are 4-5 star difficulty. I decided I needed to start clearing these mysteries but of course some will take longer than others. This one seemed easy enough, just follow the directions. Put the dogs in the car and on a stinking hot day set out to one of my favourite places to find caches. I followed the directions to a tee and was at GZ and CIH within 20 minutes. SL #2392 on streak day #1285 TFTC

What a great afternoon for caching - overcast, slight drizzle at times, shorts, sandals and geodoggie off the leash.

After finding a nearby superhero, we wandered into the bush to retrieve Excelsior. All the readings given were precise so it led to an easy find in some magnificent bush. My only disappointment was that a bushwalking muggle was standing on top of GZ on the phone.

#2249 (2 of 2 today) (Streak day 130)

After the long drive (and plentiful cache grab) yesterday, I thought I'd just get one or two caches, and close to home.
I'd been looking at one puzzle cache - having trouble with the first waypoint. A breakthrough on it this morning, and spotting a field puzzle nearby gave me my targets.
Got both, but not without the troublesome one getting one last laugh...
END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION
After finally sorting out Marvel Superhero #2 I actually had a head start on this one, having spotted a likely path in my aborted walk to the wrong GZ.

So started off as the rain was threatening to fall, and soon had confirmation I was going the right way.

All good until I needed those 6 poles... Hmmm. Over here? No. How about...
Finally went the right way and spotted the very obvious, as well as what has to be GZ.

Got there and soon spotted the tell-tale sign of camo.
CIH!

Completed signing duties, and put the mock on myself by writing that the rain had held off - within 60 seconds it had started so I quickly rehid and raced back to The Hademobile - got there quite damp but nowhere near sodden.

A favourite for the fun run around.

Now, should I have a look at alfyboy's nearby Lost Cache?

6/09/15. 3:17 PM. Cache #2929. Streak day #441.

Just this one today as I had a busy morning for Fathers' Day, and since it had been raining a bit and was still quite gloomy, one streak-saver was more than enough to scratch my itch. I parked up near Eric Mobbs oval and made my way down to the posted coordinates and then got to work.

I followed each of the clues, saving waypoints at the start of the dirt, the O.a. sign, the T-intersection and the 6 upright posts. From these posts, the final leg to the overhang was more like double the described distance, but since it was such an obvious feature, there was no issues in locating it. Getting up to it was easy and then so was the find. Cool, a nice quick field puzzle done for the day. After signing and replacing, I found a shorter track back to the oval and the car and then headed back home. A good, fun way to while away half an hour, so worth a fave point. TFTC.

This cache had been on my radar for some time, however I was reluctant to attempt it since it seemed rather ambiguous: I'm much more secure with concrete coordinates than a loose set of instructions. I needn't have worried however, since the directions were pretty clear and I was able to follow and find everything as described in the cache listing page. Once at GZ however, it took me quite a while to locate the cache, I wasn't expecting it to be where I eventually found it. I wonder if it had suffered some cache creep as some of the photos the gallery indicating GZ didn't quite match up. Perhaps it was just me being thick. Whatever the case, cache was eventually located and log signed. I really love this piece of bushland, thanks for the short stroll through it. TFTC feral five! Smile

I found myself at the wrong parklands whole planning to find some of the local rugged caches. Those over was on the alternate way to my intended finds so I had a go at it.
Much simpler than i expected, and i think i recognize some of the tracks from when i completed the night cache.
Near the cache i spotted an open Tupperware container and thought it had been muggled, but after moving a bit closer i found the cache.
Thanks for the journey.

On a lovely sunny day we decided to tackle this fun puzzle cache so dragged the geosons out for a walk. We've done this walk several times with Cubs pre-geocaching days so remembered this lovely walk. We followed the clues and found the cache after a few false looks. It's well hidden and in good condition. Thanks for the family fun!

An interesting Mystery cache in my favourite local bush walking reserve.
Found without too much drama largely because I knew what the clues were leading me to before I got there.
Left a BookCrossing book and took a TB.

31-Oct-13
Nice easy mystery find after work.

Hardest bit was the traffic which was horrendous. Arrived 30 before sunset and followed the steps without too much drama.

The end got a little tricky but after a brief search had it in hand. Feels like more than 7 though.

Great old container, can't believe it has been here for so long without getting muggled.

Thanks for the cache! This lovely quiet area gets a favourite.

Being in the area for the night cache and the other mystery we decided we had some time left to do this one if we hurried along. following the instructions to almost GZ in the dark proved a not to much of a problem as all the instructions were followed until the obvious end result. where we put the wrong shoes on the the right feet.

spent some time looking at another place lower down before we widened the search area to make the find, re read the instructions and had a "doh" moment. nice little cache TFTC and a fav.

Found with Morley196 at Venturer Scouts tonight after doing the night cache. We got to the poles fine but once we were there we thought we knew were it was. This was a nice cache and a nice day for it too. I'd forgotten about the posts, but recognized them when I got to them. Then it was just a matter of finding the right overhang, but after I checked the first one there was only one left, and hey presto there it was. TNLNSL, and tftc.

11-Aug-12
Nice to finally get this one crossed this one off my list Smile A rather cold and windy day as I made my way to GZ, but a beautiful walk at that as you look over the rest of the bush around the area. The directions given by the CO were easy to follow - right up until you reach GZ. I spotted the posts (only 5 of them now unless I was missing one), then thought to myself where could this cache be hidden? Okay feral five, you've got me puzzled here a bit! Backtracked a bit and took a new approach after spotting a potential hiding spot that fitted the clues - GOTCHA!!! SL TN left two keyrings TFTC from AuSSiETiG3R Smile

Mind you ... once I get my 70th find I will definitely award this one a favourite point as well Smile

Well! This was a good challenge for the day. With the rain starting to fall and Geoson and I under the umbrella, things just got harder. We found the rock overhang and went in search of the cache. After 15 Minutes, things won't looking good. Looked in the most oblivious places and still no luck. Gave up after 1/2 hour and continued on way, looking for other caches. It wasn't untill on our way back to the car that I noticed another overhanging rock nearby and soon had the cache in hand. Thanks for the challenge.

TFTC. At first we went the wrong way and came back with a rainy day on the way back. Me and bikerbuddy went alone to face the ultimate challenge we had stubbornly missed. And there it was. The holy golden grail stood before us. TFTC.

13-Nov-10
Today my dad said I have to catch up on all the logs I have missed. I've missed about 130 because I like caching more than I like writing the logs. So sorry this is just a standard comment. Thanks for hiding your cache for me to enjoy.

13-Nov-10
I should have checked out pjmpjm's log before we started (in fact, I think reading that log almost qualifies as having done the cache). I got to the starting point and carelessly walked in the wrong direction. Well, that way seemed smoother than some of the stuff I've walked on lately. But I quickly began to have doubts, yet doggedly walked on a few hundred more metres before turning around. By that time the rain had started and was falling fairly heavily, so when we made it back to the starting point again, Garks and the WaywardWoman, who had hurt her back in a fall earlier in the day, waited in the car, while me and NickoHeap now took what was obviously the correct path. After that it was an easy find and we were never in doubt that we were finally on the right track. Funnily enough, the rain stopped by the time we got to the overhang, where we, too, might have sheltered from it. Thanks for an interesting and enjoyable cache.

13-Nov-10
2.30 on a day which aws supposed to be bright and sunny with a late afternoon thunderstorm. We set out on a mystery... the plot thickened- so did the swelling on back from my 10.30 fall. As the rain came down we realised, we'd taken a wrong way.(no pjmpjm photos either) It was a nice stroll till then and I decided- that's it for me! Garks, always wanting to be supportive stayed to be with me while Nicko Heap trekked off with swap bag in hand with his dad. They came back wet, but the victory walk was avoided because they didn't want to be soaked. A claim on behalf of the team by bikerbuddy! TFTC

Clever one feral five. I found your cache in great condition exactly where you 'remember' it being. Took the walk, but my gps showed some different numbers, nonetheless, I continued and kept reading futhur into your notes. I just found your long-lost cache, sspack! It's still quite safe and in good condition and I'll soon upload a few photos to reassure you . . .

It was a bit of an adventure off Excelsior Avenue in Castle Hill, but your memory was pretty good and the clues provided enabled me to track down the 'little overhang' in about 20 minutes or so. Those strange 'six posts' were a great help, but I discovered a better way to get to your rocky shelter -- from the top. That way I avoided walking amongst the ferns.

I recommend that families take their children and help sspack out by finding this one again. The geokids will love it, and eventually, if he gets enough feedback, sspack will finally work out where he mis-placed his ammo box!

This is a very child-friendly area well worth the visit.

More comments in my photos, which will arrive shortly.

Thanks to sspack for letting us be of assistance . . .

Nice easy mystery cache - my first! Once I was at the spot, the cache was obvious - the old suspicious pile of rocks trick. Did this one with Toonarmy. Geokids play Soccer close to here. Thought this one was more difficult then what it was - easy find. Really nice place for a cache and a nice walk. Took TB. TFTC. Smile
