We where hear and tried to find this cache, twice in November. Searched the entire area but come up with nothing. 6 months later we return and fird it in one of the first places we looked. TFTC
Today was my last day in Porepunkah. The last time I was here it was 2003 and I was on firefighting duties. We spent a fair bit of time around the area including taking the 4WD slip-ins on a trek up and down a very amazing track and then across to Lake Buffalo. I always swore I would go back there one day because it was a very memorable trip.
That was my pre-caching days.
With the gear packed up on the back of the ute I was off, grabbing some caches on the way home.
A very interesting piece of history right here, thanks so much for bringing me here.

Our first find on a day's caching around Porepunkah while staying in nearby Bright. It is fascinating the lengths to which people will go for a bit of gold! I must say that it was all worth it. Thanks for the interesting history lesson sarrett.
Returning back to our caravan park for a well earned glass of wine, Mrs one-eyed & I spent time in the town.
Found the cache okay.

Quick easy find. Thanks for the cache.

Heading north for an exciting weekend of caching around the Dargo High Plains with Harrowang,we came across this little cache at 4:20pm. An interesting bit of history about this gorgeous part of the world. Took happy elephant. Left Lego man. SLTFTC
Found on our way to Albury

In glorious sunshine, this is one of a wide variety of caches we found while out and about with Liz and Bruce. We started at Myrtleford, travelled up the Ovens Valley as far as Smoko, stopping by the river for lunch and visiting a number of lookouts with spectacular views.
Thanks for drawing our attention to this neat little bit of history.
Thanks to sarrett for the hunt.

We were able to find this cache while out exploring the area around Bright with Phetlern. A glorious sunny day displayed the area to its best though an Autumn visit is something we would like to do. Nice one. Thanks to sarrett for placing this cache.
Didn't find it 12 months ago but finally!!!! Finally! Thanks for taking the 4 kids and I to this historical spot.
Nearly gave up on this one, then it was at the last place to look. Should have looked there 1st. Dah. TFTC
Great historical spot and there were many places to hide it , but luckily we got it quickly,
Many thanks for the hide.
Many thanks for the hide.
After a busy 5 days caching with Team Crackers and Alansee, we headed out to pick up a few more caches.
A short search, and we were happy to add our name to the log.
Many thanks for placing this cache, sarrett, for us and others to find.

Took time out this afternoon to cycle the rail trail between Porepunkah and Eurobin collecting a few Caches along the way. While looking for this cache I did see a rather large Spider hiding but not where the cache is located TFTC
Back in Auz. Glorious sunny weekend so we came to Porepunkah for some good training. After having a bike and run we thought we would bag a few geocache near where we are staying. Good cache and we didnt know this was here. Easy find but beware of a very large hairy handyman spider hiding behind the plaque on the stone. I can save you the frightening experience by telling you that the cache isn't in there! Ttfc.
3539. Found by baby&Mrs gopher at 1015. After an early start from The Rock in -3 degree temperatures this morning this was number 4 for the day and it is starting to warm up. The location of the container is very damp but all in good condition. SL Tnx sarrett
[:(!] What better way of spending the day but to do a bit of caching and this was one of them, parked the geocar as close as possible to GZ and walked in from there, on arrival at GZ , the cache was located, it was then in hand in a matter of minutes.
I love it

Baja15, Wilbert67 and I have been planning to do some caching in this area for some time so we teamed up for a 4 day caching trip to Wangaratta and surroundings. we worked on these puzzles and did them all today, the roads are quite hairy in places, co ods were all good, the views are awesome, only one part concerned me was the low level water crossing, with the pour down yesterday the crossing was still passable. we completed the trip in 4 hrs with a stop for lunch. TFT excellent trail.
I joined up with J+J.au and Wilbert67 for a trip down South to find some caches and what an adventure we had. Thanks to all the cache owners here for a job well done and thanks to my colleagues for the company. A trip to remember with the trails most recommended. SL..TFTC
Found this cache after a bit of a scout around. Thanks for the hide and the history.
Found while out caching with mum on a brilliantly sunny day on the long weekend. Sorry for the generic post doing quite a few today!

Out for a day of caching in the hills around Tallangatta with Debs22. Hopefully this will be one of many and so the need for a generic post. Many thanks for taking us into this beautiful countryside. Entries had me worried but really not difficult TFTC
8000 + 971 = 8971. Found during a 3 day visit to the region with Sol de Lune, Albida33 and Mtrax.
GC Find Number 8000 - found on a great weekend with good company - can't get any better than that !!
The main event for our visit was the HSS Series with many many more in between. SDL says it all in his log. All my fault really !! Lol...
The best thing was that all 100 were found with only a few hiccups which were our fault. Very happy with 100 + finds !
Once we finished the HSS Series we continued towards Bright. Another in this series which took a few minutes but then the cache was in hand. Had to take a Piccie for the moment !
Thanks again sarrett !! A nice cache for this special Milestone... A Favourite Point from me...
TNLN - TFTC !!
Cheers....

Beechworth HSS trip March 2014 with Mtrax, Sol de Lune and Fitzy. Most of the journey was made up of the HSS puzzles which were all solved before the trip with very little input from me. The collections were made on bike or by car. The various bike legs were the highlight and were very enjoyable. We did manage many other caches in the region and all in all it was a great trip with friends with a good mix of caches and great food at the local pub. Thanks.

A group of us Canberra Cachers (Sol De Lune, Fityz, and Albida33 ) heading down south for a run around Beechworth, mainly to find all the HSS series but we took the opportunity to gather up some other nearby caches , Completed the HSS and some of the MRT series with a mixture of Bikes and Car as well as some short walks. Found a bit over 200 caches that weekend

A milestone for one in the group??? But it almost wasn't to be. Took 4 sets of eyes a good 5 minutes before the cache was in hand......and on hindsight, it was really that hard. Oh well, some days are like that.
Thanks for another one sarrett...

A detour from the rail trail got me to this unexpected little memorial spot with some heavy duty bits and pieces lying around
I poked here and there for a while, before a stroke of inspiration struck me and I dredged up a cache find
TFTC it was buckets of fun [:o)]

We got spotted by the lady muggle across the road, who came out to check her letterbox (and check us out) just as we were signing the log. Apologies if we gave away the location but I don't think we did.
Was that another bunch of cachers heading in this direction from the Railtrail Cafe as we left?

After a search of about 5 minutes cache was in hand. Unfortunately the two items listed in the inventory are both not in the cache. SL TNLN TFTC
Found with little difficulty after yummy lunch at the Punkah. Thanks for small history lesson-an interesting story.
Not to successful first time but came this way on the way home and got a clue grime another cacher, found and signed, traded swaps and replaced. Dad looked in the spot that it was and didn't find it!
Short detour from cycle path to did this. Had to walk right round site but then found quite quickly. Nice cache and thanks for history
Found with Gordo, troubkle with my computer slowed my logging, this one took us a while to find, we almost gave up....almost, thank you for the cache sarrett.
On our way to mt buffalo on a caching trip with Mudbrick, picking up caches along the way.

After the initial search came up with nothing I read a few logs and got a hint. Found straight away after that. Cache is in a good condition.
Thanks

We looked for about 15 minutes with no success. It wasn't in the obvious places and we rustled in a lot of leaves. Good hide! Nice drive here though. Hopefully we will have better luck next time !
Good find, gotta search a bit but not too hard if you're persistent good fun second find
This was one of two caches I(myself) found this weekend. The kids gave up quickly because of all the leaves on the ground. With much moving of leaves I finally found and signed the log.
He certainly sound like an industrious individual. Probably not an environmentalist.
Located the cache nice and quickly and also the next clue. Is rather a large chunk of metal the whole dredge must have been massive. slt: Jumping bean l: Dinosaur t4tc

Staying at Boyntons Winery for the weekend to celebrate our 20 year wedding anniversary, I thought it would be nice to hire some bikes and take a ride into Bright. We grabbed some caches along the way, and left a few for the return Journey. In Bright it was the Gala parade and markets, so it was very busy. But nobody noticed us looking around for a few more caches. Had a light lunch before we headed back to Feathertop, stopping at Porepunkah for 1 beer at the pub. What an awesome morning.
Almost gave up on this one, but had a look from a different angle and there it was. Thanks.

On the way home from a visit up to Mt Buffalo this was the first on the list and an interesting site and a great set of cache notes.
The cache is well hidden so the log was signed and we were on our way.
Thanks sarrett for placing this cache.

Great cache! Don't look at the accompanying photo for clues. It's misleading. Logbook is a lot smaller
Found this with drjim7 and the kids while we were on our first ever family bike ride and had made ot to p[orepunkah. This was an interesting spot to visit, and our usual best finder raffa made quick work of the finding. TFTC.
