Since the owner of the cache hasn't contacted me, I'm reluctantly archiving this cache. If the owner wants to reinstate this cache, they should contact the reviewer that first published the cache.
We were about the venture down the path when a walker who had just come through the gate said; "Are you looking for a cache? Ummmm, yes we replied was it that obvious? Yes he replied I saw you carrying that stuff (gps and ipaq) and it's my cache and I have just been searching for it too." So not a wasted trip as we met another cacher, always good to do that. Thanks, we will be back when the cache is up and running again.
What a shame! We checked after the first big rain and floods and it was untouched, the second lot of rain onto saturated ground was more destructive unfortunately. We'll see if it is practical to place another cache in this spot soon.
Its been swept away by the floods, the area the GPS and hint refer to is clear of every thing except silt and some white posts.
I found this one while on a weekend trip to Kaikoura, so a nice wee stop off and a great spot for a cache. Thanks Bo
Ah, it does pay to read the listing! I saw the GPS, followed it's route to the nearest point (Caverhill Rd) where the other end of the track finished. Mrs Moose took one look at the swamp and decided to drive and pick me up at the other end. Fine, off I went. However, after much bog hopping, jumping, dancing, swinging and then cursing at the inevitable wet shoe/sock/jeans managed to get the cache and get out the other side. It would be nice in summer, but in winter with lots of rain - bring gummies! Liberated a TB. TFTC.
Was very wet underfoot so had to give this one a miss especially as I had two non geocachers with me.
great piece of bush, one of the reasons geocaching is fantasic, we never would have gone there otherwise. Cheers.
I was in Cheviot helping with a Rogaine, so I went looking for a couple of caches too. A nice hide but the log was a bit damp. Probably because the location is damp. An easy find.

Because the GPS was on go-slow (trees didn't help) we walked up a huge hill and then walked back down a huge hill to find the spot not far from where we started! Still, it was a good stretch for the legs.
What a great forest ... huge trees ... well worth a walk thru. Found cache without much difficulty on a damp day, took the koala keyring and left an elephant and TB Another Not Another.
Nice place to hang around after the find.
Off to California we go.

Attempted this after a tour for Gore bay, very beautiful. It costs us more than 15 minutes find this, and we walked over it several times, but finally the search had its prize. The forest is very nice but it's bad for the GPS signal
Greetings from Spain. TFTC.

Jock's Jungle sign has been changed to Sock's Jungle sign. Cheviot is a lovely little town. The forest where the cache is located has some beautiful old trees.

Found with Wilson#41 after I had literally stepped right on GZ. Poor GPS reception here so had to use the hint.

Kwaka40 found this one after I'd wandered straight past it! Doh!
Had to use the hint as the GPS protested about the reception. Nice forest.

As Annie was sitting on a log logging, a group of fantails came and flittered all around us. Very cool experience. We watched them for a wee while, then even as we left some tagged along after us.

That sure is a jungle and very wet in there after yesterday's rain. Avoided exploring it beyond what was necessary to find the cache, but pretty fascinating to see.

Had to drop the kids back here after a wekend in Ashvegas, so called in for this cache. Unfortunately I got a bit carried away in the Jungle and looking for the white marker posts that I actually forgot to look at the GPS so ended up on the other side of the area Great spot, that I guess like everyone else I didn't know was here, I investigated the area closer to town for a cache a few months ago but wasn't happy with the location, I'm so glad there is a cache here now as this is a fantastic hidden place TFTC

First cache of our week camping in Gore Bay and Motueka. A truly gorgeous jungle, I want a back yard like this!

A real adventure for my new geocaching partner - my 4 year old son. He loves to hunt for 'treasure' and this was a pretty special one! Left fridge magnet. TFTC.
What a great wee jungle! GPS was reasonably accurate and managed a decent signal in the bush - glad it was a high-sensitivity unit! Cache was an easy find. Cheers Gav [1816]
1876. We had to keep an eye out for the jungle animals after a falling branch narrowly missed us by managing to fall between us! it was about 2 metres long and 20 centimetres in diameter so it could have done some damage if it had connected! We were a bit wary after this narrow escape so we took a bit longer to find the cache than it should have!!
Thanks

2nd to find this one. Thanks for sharing this neat spot with us. Took me ages to find the cache and almost gave up. My yellow etrex isn't up to forest work (Where's ground zero what way is west), but reception a lot better than in some other sorts of forest. Will return and complete the neat walkway with family. Much thanks. +TB Weevil
Old gps doesn't like the trees, lovely spot for a short walk. Two possible gzs and when I went to one the gps pointed to the other, so gave up in the end to find other caches.
Lots of little hidey holes to search.
I almost gave up, as the rest of the family were waiting for me in the car and they were hungry for some lunch.
Nice place for a cache.
