Day 3 of a 6 night break on the island. Like others before us this one beat us. Another half hour searching by Mr. Adder in crevices, holes, nooks and crannies proved fruitless. This definitely needs checking and/or replacing eith DNF's building.
Building DNF's with long searches and no finds. This one sounds like it had gone AWOL.
Unfortunately a DNF. After lots of climbing and lots of sand in my eyes, we came away fruitless. Thanks!
This was found as we wander this great country
With a change of senery we headed across to an Island for a treat

On KI. During my round the world cycle trip. Beautiful cache location. Tricky to get at.

Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Where ever possible, we will maintain your cache as we travel.
We are here visiting, house and farm sitting for three months. There are only 89 caches on the island. Hope we get smilie faces on all of them.
Now we are on the farm for the next four weeks, and have to chase caches for the 321GO Souvenir
Out and about today with our good friends SnappyTomCats, who are visiting us for a few days.
Despite both Mr STC and Mr D being up the hill and Mrs STC and Mrs D shouting directions and suggestions and more directions, they came away with a DNF

Having some R&R in Kangaroo Island, staying with Dunmowin during the Christmas New Year week. Today we headed out to do some sightseeing and of course grab a few caches. Sadly our Caching eyes were disengaged today, We searched thorouly all over but to no avail. The hint was pretty much useless as following this took us away from GZ. Will keep in on our watchlist.
The beaches are wonderful! Various turquoise colours from the sea, many more blues from the sky. A perfect day to search for boxes on the beach The rocks in this place have very sharp edges and crazy forms with all the holes in it. Nevertheless, we climbed up there and finally found the box, which is in good condition. - Thanks for taking us to this nice place!
gatta nera and Hai Happen married! and what comes after a marriage? ok, her name is still gatta nera and not yet gatta Happen, but would be quit interesting
so, next is honeymoon
so, the decision was made, it should go to Australia, with a 12 hour stop over in Singapore to check out the bay area.
Our last full day on KI started this morning with putting back all our stuff from the bungalow into our car. First location was the Hanson Bay, continued to Vivionne Bay and Seal Bay.
After the Seal Bay (we saw some sea lions, but there have been way more at Admirals Arch, but I think a different type for sea lions ), we took our way back to a little town between Kingscote and Penneshaw for our last night on KI - tomorrow morning we will have to catch the ferry back to the mainland.
ah, and at our last day, we, or better gatta nera had the first time contact with a snake while looking for a cache, the question is only, who was more surprised and shocked, gatta nera or the snake? nobody will know, as the snake was gone within seconds and Hai Happen heard only, "oh, I think I've scared a snake, but she went below the bush"

After Hansen Bay, our route led Hai Happen and me to Vivionne Bay. As there was a cache here as well, we headed to search for it. First we followed some traces in the sand, which we thought might come from other geocachers. Well, they most probably were not, as we found out later. And at some point we realized, that we had chosen the more difficult way to approach the cache. None the less, we were able to get there safely and took the easier way back.
Thank you for the cache!

On the way out because the god wasent working and then a guy just stumbled across it
Easy walk from camp ground to these very unusual rocks, and picturesque against the turquoise coloured water, this was one for geohubby, he aced it!
Its been a few years since I visited Kangaroo Island, so I headed off for a break for a few days and the chance to grab a few caches.
I managed to find a nice selection of caches over three days in some great places. Its a very relaxing and scenic part of the world!
I spent a fair bit of time searching for this one, I had trouble getting a clear fix on GZ and ended up clambering all over the rocks and severely pushing my limits in terms of heights and exposure. The hint wasn’t particularly helpful given the hundreds of ‘rock clefts’ of varying sizes! However, I eventually noticed some slightly differently weathered rocks, which led me to the cache in a place that fortunately wasn’t difficult to access. I was very relieved!
Thanks matmob for the cache.

Castle Rock has been my last place to visit this day and it was worth getting there! Without the cache i might have stopped ad vivionne bay, but this took me to another beautiful location.
Thanks for hiding it here!

Man muss wirklich erst einen guten Weg finden und ich hatte die Wahl zwischen klettern und baden. Nur die Füße sind nass geworden.
Not easy to find how to reach it ... From the bottom easier . TFTC. Merci pour la cache, from France.
Amazing place ! It is not easy to reach GZ. The cache is A1. The view is beautiful. Favorite point TFTC Merci pour la cache Greetings from Montréal Québec
Mark and I walked to this cache along the beach front. It certainly looks castle like here. Sent Mark up to make the find but Mary was directing him from the beach. Great spot for a cache.
Loved it and another favourite from us.

We had a 4WD jeep, but a sign at the beach entrance that vehicles entry for launching boats only scared us off, and hence left the car at the entrance in the car park. Had a nice walk along the beach, but the strategic leave thongs/shoes at the car and walk barefoot completely backfired, as it was clear that we needed to walk over some craggy limestone to find the cache.
Was a hard climb in bare feet, and meanwhile geocaching partner took an alternative tact and was wading around the rocks. However my climbing methodology won the day, and proclaimed the win. Luckily it didn't involve a huge amount of searching and spotted the hide once in the area. Upon reflection, glad the diffu/terrain ratings reflected what I considered a hard retrieval (though that was primarily highlighted with doing it without shoes). On the bright side, at least this cache got my partner in the water when she had been whining how cold the water was. She came out and just mentioned it was sort of refreshing in the end haha.

Required a bit of wading and rock climbing, but eventually found! Very nice beach
Unfortunately, we did not succeed in our search... but what a great place this is!
Today started at 3:45am in Port Elliot. I got up early in hopes of catching the often cancelled ferry from this week. Thankfully, we got on, then I made my way to the west coast and made my way back towards the east.
The walk to GZ was an adventurous one, as it began to rain and the waves were crashing hard. Made the find, signed the log, and then back to the dry car.
Thanks for adding to my fun KI adventure.

Had a giggle we were doing this one a little blind, have an idea where it is will come back with Bathers when its warmer!!
Accidentally tried this one a few days ago at high tide so quickly gave up. Came back today and geo-dad spotted it while I clambered over the rocks. Great spot!! TFCT
A beautiful spot in the world. Where else would you rather be? Happy right where I am. TFTC
We think this is a worthy winner of 'best beach' - love the water colour! A lovely contrast to the fine white sand. And the water's so clear. Love it.
As we approached GZ we wondered if we were going to get wet. Happy when the GPSr indicated 'over there'. Funny tho... we scooted right past the cache in our eagerness to 'get there'. We'd gone too far but the cache was easily found as we retraced our steps.
All good here.
Thanks for adding a bit more fun to our day matmob.

Had five wonderful days on Kangaroo Island with the Sal part of brisal. I was reminded several times that we were on 'holiday' and not a caching. So if we happened to go toa place sightseeing and there happened to beat a cache I could get it whilst Sal took some photos. Likewise if we happened to be passing a cache if it was a quick grab that was okay too. Lucky for me we happened to be at or passing about 35 caches during our stay. Had a couple of DNFs and a few we just couldn't get to for one reason or another. Left a handful of my PTs scattered around the island. My thanks to all the owners who have placed caches over here. [:o)]
Day 1: Not too many today as had a full schedule just to get the ferry and then make our way all the way to the western end to our accommodation for the first two nights. Like most I just had no concept of how big the Island is. Cool another walk along the beach for Sal meant I had time to scramble over the sharp rocks and look for this. Found surprisingly easily. I could see some places that I was glad this wasn't placed. Thanks matmob.

Beautiful beach! A swim here was tempting despite the cool temp. Blowing a gale elsewhere but the water here was perfectly calm protected by the bay. Enjoyed the walk to GZ and after a short climb over rocks, located the cache quite quickly. Surprised the cache stayed in situ. Great spot and picturesque beach earns a favourite from us. TFTC
I looked at where it may be and left it for more adventurous geocachers in company of others.
Day 2 of a 6 day stay on the island with the intentions of finding all the caches on the island, we succeeded finding all of them with no DNFs the stay was fantastic even though we were in a heatwave while staying here, luckily we had an air conditioned accommodation, while here we saw lots of Kangaroos, Wallabies, Goannas, Seals and lots of different species of birds, according to Mrs 3LGs fitbit we walked around 60 kilometres during the 6 days here After seeing the DNFs i wasn't giving this one much hope of finding, after searching everywhere and climbing all the way to the top and admiring the views i admitted defeat and was about to head back to the car when i spotted the diff rating so back in i went, after getting a few scratches i soon had cache in hand, after signing and replacing i made my way around to the front of the rocks into the small cave there but soon left as there are millions of small flies that dont like you being in there lol. TFTC
We hunted around but could not find. But still a great two pronged fork formation sticking out of the water. But the road in was very corrugated for our hybrid bicycles.
muggled can you believe it but thanks for the spot beautiful
it's not all about the find it's about the view !

Another short but great beach walk and we were at GZ. The cache was quickly located and then it was the camera's turn to have a good workout.
Thanks, some remarkable rock formations here and a favourite point for the location.

# 6676. Robmc and I decided to visit Vivonne Bay this morning with the hope of finding a few caches and getting a view of "Australia's most Perfect Beach". A big claim. It was very windy but still sunny this morning so the waters were beautifully green and aqua and blue and it looked very tempting for a snorkel, but maybe another time for that.
Certainly looks like there has been a lot of dune erosion going on near the boat ramp. Quite a bit of young planting here trying to hold things together. We wouldn't like to be trying to get a boat down to the water via the extremely rocky section at the bottom though - a rough job.
What a lovely walk along the beach it is to castle rock. Once there we realised some mountain goat antics might be in order. Rob was the one who managed to make the find and I left one of my mask pathtags here today.
After taking photos it is now time to head back to the car admiring the view of the jetty as we go.
Thanks matmob

Traveling around Kangaroo Island today with BettyBoo3747. Down to Vivonne Bay for a few short walks then back to some rock displays in Flinders Chase National Park. Very blowy day, but blue skies in the morning and squally showers in the afternoon.
We do have a 4WD but it seemed sacrilege to drive down the pristine beach.
A nice walk along the beach got us to the rocks, but the task looked a bit daunting!
BB burrowed into one crack and I went to the next one. Didn't get wet feet today, but that was more good luck than good management
A bit of scrambling and the cache was soon in hand. The sun cam out then so we got some good photos.
Thanks, Robmc.

Was a bit tricky but finally we've made it. Thanks for showing us this nice beach, the colours of the water were just amazing!
We approached from the boat ramp side and took a track up to the cliff top area. Looked hard for about 30 mins in lots of very 'cachey' areas but had no luck.
We were only using the IPhone, and not the GPS so maybe our coords were slightly out.

Found with Parko's as a part of the Geocaching Scout competition. Thanks for the cache
Spent a significant amount of time with the Parko's looking for this one, and we were just about ready to log it as DNF. We actually started to wonder if the gps was very out, and we would have needed to wade out into the water to the stand-alone rock formation to hunt. But I soon realised that i had left Mr Parko & Mr Morris to search the area, and we all know what a 'boys look' is like . So off I went to explore the rocks, and soon had the tricky hide discovered, and a cache in hand.

Went for a walk along the beach, then for a climb. Great view, thanks for the cache.
Over on the island visiting family for Easter and I wanted to get a couple of caches while I was there. This one I left to do with Mrs fishingmad as she grew up near here and spent a lot of time playing on these rocks over many years.
We approached from the river mouth and climbed over the headland, I spotted a very cachey area and then had a relatively easy find. TFTC and the memories for Mrs fishingmad.

Good Friday. Walked from the River Mouth so took us a while to find the right area. Had fun climbing the rocks with the geokids. Needed to use the clue. Some rocks a bit sharp for the little ones. Loved this cache, thanks!
We were in the area so thought we would check on cache :]
All good, no pen so put in pencil.

Great fun doing this one. The kids had a blast hunting for shells and we had fun going for a climb! Thanks for a fun adventure!
Ahhhh... the first cache on KI and as usual, it's me that gets to go for the climb, while the others play in the sand. Had to scout about for the easiest path down once I was up, and after a while found the cache nice and dry. I then had to go back to the family and the Knippers to get a pen, but luckily they thought ahead and brought the stamps.
Thanks for the location and the climb.
