Found while spending a few days near Renmark, hoping to knock off a few of the Wandering Hero and On Your Bike Series while we are here. TFTC, Its great to have so many caches to be able to find
Thanks FLIPPER&CO for placing this cache and for the ongoing maintenance. Find #10420 on 6/10/2024 at 7:24AMAlways good to head of caching especially on a long weekend. I decided to have another go at the bike series. Last time I was out here the river was in flood so I didnt get to venture to the other side. Collecting some OYB today and others that appear along the way.
Find # 15575Been a while since I've been out solo for a long trip. But things change over time. And I'm living the past.So with some time off work, I've jumped the border wall to chase down some long trails in South Aussie... don't know how many I'll get. But I've got quite a few downloaded. I do have a short hit list ( of 2) caches to help with a challenge. All others are just for the Adventure and countryside views. Armed with all the necessary TOTT from tweezers and magnet grab to 6m ladder and 8m fishing pole. I believe I'm prepared for all that I'll come across. (Just had to leave the Kayak at home )Day 5. After a cold night at the Maggea Oval.. I was off on another days hunting. But decided to turn things around as I started in Loxton (after getting supplies) and tackle the trail backwards from original plan. TFTC FLIPPER&CO
Drained water, retrieved TB, signed log and taped cache to stick to lift it above in coming water. Tftc
The camo cache lid is broken and the cache is dirty inside. It will fill with water when it rains. There is a temp container inside the main cache that is fine and the logbook is dry and in good condition.
Yep late start to the day as l start heading home from an epic Leap year Mega in Adelaide via a different route..pitstop to find these rare large caches.
Cache is looking rather sad at the moment, but fun to find a large cache & hidden like the golden oldies too which is always rare to see with the new guidelines in place! Thanks, would be great if this one had some maintenance done! - **On your Bike - Day 4** -The final day! Given our team was so devoted to this series and putting in the very long days / hours we managed to smash it out in 4 days! We were absolutely wrecked by the end of it though, and this last day became hard at times to keep the enthusiasm levels high, especially when we had a string of missing caches all along the same road, the first ones missing of the entire series! Thankfully the previous finder had replaced many of them with CO permission, and then we replaced the remainder ones with CO permission as well. We think there might be an unhappy farmer living near this road! We managed to finish not long after lunch, which gave us some time to find a few extras in town afterwards, as well as have a much needed rest and treat ourselves to a good meal! Huge thanks to SAGEO_5, but mainly to the individual persons involved with this account and setting up this epic series!
This is day three of my week-long adventure in South Australia. My first time in the state, and I intend fully to make the most of it. I get up as early as my eyelids will allow and make my way out of the CBD to pick up a hire car. Today is all about geocaching and covering the hours of driving to Renmark for the weekend. And some late-night planning has me a rough route and list to complete.I am pretty happy to be getting close to Renmark (or at least, Murray civilisation) now. It's been a solid day of driving and geocaching and generally just enjoying the passage of time and kilometres. I'm keen to stop here though. A bit older hide, and a Large right by the road. Yeah, I'll have some of that action!Probably shows my age, but I have owned less than 10 DVDs in my entire life. And certainly none right now. In the new streaming age, I fully appreciate the desire for having reliable, physical media instead but I'm just not a big movies or TV consumer at all. All that to say, there'll be no swaps from me today.Across the road, I parked up and dashed across the bitumen and into the bit of bush. Finding the geocache was not hard at all. However, I understand why we don't like them hidden like this. The container has long deteriorated, the lid is munched and the geocache has a litre of water in the bottom.Nice though that the previous finders (hello, fellow Queenslander) made it possible for me to sign my name on something. At 16:45 I did just that and called it a find. Alright, how much farther to go? Thanks for this geocache, FLIPPER&CO
Oh dear this cache really needs some tlc. The lid has no rim and was askew and numerous big beetles and a lizard had fallen in. So we rescued all of them and they scuttled off. The jar with the log was half full of water so we drained that and added another plastic container with a waterproof log strip. We placed the lid in a way that, hopefully, stops the critters from getting in. Anyway, we hope our addition will last until some proper maintenance is done. (Just needs a new lid on the white bucket.) We do like the decorative stonework on the old lid tho. Thank you.
How good was this when first placed? Currently only containing a damp log but able to sign. TFTC FLIPPER&CO.
Day 4 of our initial "grey Nomads" trip heading north for 4 months. We departed Echuca and after completing some Vic LGA's, crossed into SA and headed north to Loxton and set up at the caravan park for a couple of nights.
As much as we would love to clean up all the caches in the area, we physically could not do it and still get to the JLWE event. Decided we would tick off SA LGA's and focus on the OYB series to complete our DT grid.
Plans went astray first up as we headed out the next LGA, and decided we couldn't really go past all these caches on the way to the OYB series, so made a few selections on the way back towards Loxton. Criteria was passenger side, geocachers we knew personally, and fav points. That went astray as well I also added in about every 5th cache
Cache found but logbook was damp. Dried as best we could and placed a roly poly in to keep log container elevated.

12323 Located by baby&Mrs gopher at 1100. As previously mentioned the container has a lot of water in the bottom. The container with the log inside is keeping that bit dry. The rim of the lid for the bucket haS been destroyed with time. SL Tnx FLIPPER&CO
On my way down to Murray Bridge getting more of the Wandering heroes trail that have appeared since I was here last. Staying in Karoonda tonight.
We had a trackable we needed to drop so we checked for a suitable cache and this is the one we chose.
The recent winter has not been kind to the cache (lucky there weren’t any DVD’s inside). We did a major cleanup, signed the log, added another cache inside the leaking original, dropped in our trackable (and took the one already in the cache) and the pen we found on the ground beside the cache (which was covered in mud but surprisingly still worked). Wow!! That’s a long sentence
Unfortunately because of the way the cache is situated level with the ground we think the water and mud will continue to accumulate in the cache
For now however all is clean and dry.
Man thanks for the hide FLIPPER&CO

This long weekend, I and J plus the little one visited riverland. We spent two and a half days, visited Nuriootpa, Barmera, Berri, Loxton, Renmark, SA/VIC border, Waikerie, Morgan, and nearby towns. On the trip, we found 55 caches on the way, including Traditional Cache, Puzzle Cache, Multi Cache, Wherigo Cache, Letterbox Hybrid Cache, and Lab Adventure caches.
This was the 30th find for the trip. We planned to try this cache, due to the high favourite points.
Parked near GZ, and walked there. Cache has been found easily, as I encountered the similar hide before.
Signed the log book, and put everything back.
Thanks for the cache, FLIPPER&CO.

Continuing our trip from Melbourne to Darwin and back, we are now on our way back home and we are staying at Kingston On Murray for a couple of days to investigate Bamera, Loxton, Berri and Renmark (maybe). A bit of a change after spending the last several weeks in the arid conditions of Central Australia. I also took the opportunity to grab several caches around the area.
Today we went to Loxton to see the Historical Village and The Pines Historic House and Garden, both great locations and recommended stops.
Found quickly enough with the distractions of so many other interesting objects in the area.

Day 3 of Jolly0's birthday weekend, a what a whirlwind it's been. Caches galore have been found, mysteries have been solved and it ain't over yet. More geocaching to be done on the way home.
No Dvd's here today, Jolly0 tried to rescue the beetle, but it crawled right back in there, maybe it hadn't finished feasting on its dead buddy. TFTC FLIPPER&CO

TYFC weekend away with Peas&CarrotsForever and Jolly0, Jolly0 birthday weekend, fantastic weather, great company, really enjoyed the weekend.
Staying in Renmark for a short holiday, caching around where we travel. Today we targeted some powertrails just out of Loxton and any others along the route. 155 caches found today. This cache is one that was found today.
Like the last few finders, found the cache camo with no cache. Have added a small replacement cache to keep this one going.
Find #4421 on 19 Jul 2022.

Day 5 of the trip long road trip from Western Australia to Townsville, Queensland.
Today headed for western end of the 'On Your Bike' series with intention to do the series over a few days but ended up just doing around 200 today before deciding to head further east towards Mildura instead of doing the rest of the series after a scary incident at one of the higher terrain caches of the series.
This cache found without problems. Log signed and the cache returned as it was found.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for geocachers to find.

After a busy week finding about 1000 wherigos in South Australia I made my way back home, covering almost 900km over 3 states in one day going the scenic route from Swan Reach to Swan Hill and then back south.
This cache took longer to find than it should have - could could I miss such a large container ?Amazingly after all these years the theme is still going - there was a DVD to swap but I've gone digital...
Thanks, Flipper &Co.

Due to the weekend weather forecast for high winds, I had to cancel my planned kayaking trip at the Corong.
At short notice I decided to head to Loxton instead.
The wind was blowing for most of the weekend but thankfully the mild temperatures made for a good haul of finds in and around Loxton.
Quick find.
Thanks for the cache FLIPPER&CO.

Thanks to all the cache owners who have made this such an enjoyable trip from Qld, thank you.
Removed all the soaked items and added a dry log sheet & ziplock bag. Unfortunately the outer lid is perished and water can now easily get inside container, a good hide though!

Around the Riverland for the weekend due to swimming at Renmark. Grabbed this one while hubby working hard at the pool. Cache seems to have gotten water in it, and log is very wet and smelly. I did manage to write in it and signed it GT, but it needs maintenance. TFTC.
After a big day previously (335 caches), we were all fairly exhausted, so we ticked off the last of the On Your Bike Series and made our way to Renmark, and a FTF. On the way we found selected caches like this one.

Early in 2021 I received an invite from GoosenEgg and Stainless Steel Rat to join them on a caching trip to the Mega in South Australia. As planning got underway some caches with high Favorite points, very old caches, and the On Your Bike Series were listed as "must-dos"
The trip ended up being 10 days of solid and very enjoyable caching with quite a few highlights. The find count for the trip was around the 950 mark when all GCA, Adventure Lab, and GC caches are included. The high point for finds was a day of 335 finds in the one day, which would have been more, but a sudden storm put the end to caching for the day. No one was interested in getting out of the car to find a cache in a downpour in the dark
We were lucky enough to find Gawler Fort Knox, Dustin's Cache, and my favorite for the trip Barossa High (From 21st of January 2001 with the original log book still in place) all in the one day.
Unfortunately, the caching around the mega was beset by bad weather and the day we had put aside for Mount Gambier was scrapped due to a covid case in Mount Gambier on the previous day, so we avoided the area. We all enjoyed the Fishing series and just managed to get the remaining of these before the light failed for the day.
In the end I managed to completed my D/T grid for the first (and possibly the second time) which was my aim for the year, although some of the D/T combinations were not really achievable in Tasmania without a 3 day overnight bush walk.

The Millicent Mega trip had been a long time in the making, for the Tassie trio of stainless steel rat, budgietas and gooseandegg, due to a couple of false starts thanks to COVID19. More and more caches were added to the extensive list as planning was being finalized. We focused on old caches, large caches, certain D/Ts, virtual caches, the On your Bike series and a few other special ones on our journey. Our route saw us caching in Adelaide for a few days before heading north via Gawler to the Barossa in preparation for the On your Bike series, whilst basing ourselves at a gorgeous cottage in Waikerie. We continued on to Renmark for a night before the long trek south to Millicent.
Some of the many highlights along the way were Gawler Fort Knox, Dustin’s Cache, Barossa High and Riverland (the oldest surviving geocache in South Australia).
At the Mega we caught up with a few of our caching friends, made some new ones, and of course missed many who could not make it this time. The weather was not the best in Millicent, and a COVID19 situation in Mt Gambier altered our plans but we had plenty of caches to keep us busy between showers, including tree climbs, plenty of adventure labs, and the entertaining Finding a Fish series - giving the new pole a good workout for the first time.
Thanks to all the CO’s who have placed and maintained all these caches that made our adventure so memorable.

This was the second cache in Loxton that we went for, there sure was some quality early cachers out this way, we enjoyed finding all the ones we had time for.
I have just remembered I commented to my fellow cachers how well this one was made.
Even with the numbers being down it was great to attend a Mega and at least get to meet some fellow cachers after so long and catch up with a few people, we flew over from Tassie on Thursday and after spending a few days in Adelaide we headed Northeast to clean up some series and then head South to Millicent for the start of the Mega long weekend.
This trip has changed so many times since it was first booked and I'm glad we got to do it at long last, to start with it was just myself and GooseandEgg nipping over for the Mega and then it was a few more days with the addition of 1 toolman, then with lockdown it was back to two of us but then another Tassie cacher in the shape of BudgieTas stepped up to the plate and we were back on for an over a week trip to grab a few caches before the Mega and then finish off with Millicent before flying home on the Tuesday.
Thanks for the cache.

Travelling from Sydney to Adelaide in search of Great Aussie Icons. Couldn't go past here without stopping. It's in pretty good shape for being here 13 years although the base of the neolithic British wonder site is perishing on the sides. All inside is safe and dry. Nothing of interest inside but we laughed at what were probably the ones that others had discarded including Andre Rieu and an old version of Microsoft Office. SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek

A plan was hatched with Rapidlywild to attack some of the caching trails down in VIC/SA. With the boarders slowly staying open we thought Easter might be a safe time to try since the QLD boarder was still too fragile to attempt going to the MEGA and it also looked like it could be rather wet there.
Our team “The Mob” consisted of GoodLook, LíB, Rapidlywild, The Drovers, feathertop and ourselves. This team ended up being very productive and some new friendships were made. Always a bonus in my book. All logs were stamped with “The Mob” to save space and time.
After completing all the trails, we had set out to do and a couple more for good measure it was time for this mob to go its separate ways.
It was now time to head home after doing numerous trails while in the area and great caching adventure. So we decided to pick up ones around Loxton before leaving.
Quick find at this one and in great shape except for a few creepy crawlies that have taken up residence here.
Thanks for the hide FLIPPER&CO and for the fun Rapidlywild

For the first time in a long time, it was road trip time. With COVID-19 keeping everyone at home for so long, the borders were finally opening and the feet were itchy for a decent caching trip. Plans were made with FurfacesLL to do a 10 day road trip across to Mildura and Loxton to do a heap of caching and we were excited. Across the 10 days we racked up over 4,300km in driving, multiple hotels/motels, brought home enough red dust to create our own sand pit in the back yard and collected over 1800 finds between us. It was a massive trip and lots of fun was had.
We teamed up with GoodLook, FeatherTop, The Drovers and LiB and signed most logs as "The Mob". There were a few caches which were signed as individual team names as some teams had already completed said caches, those will be noted individually.
Our target caches were the Turtle Series, the Paddle Steamer Series and the On Ya Bike wherigo Series, heaps of other caches were also collected along the way but our primary target caches were completed which made us all very happy and very tired geocachers.
With the Turtle done, the PS Series done, the On Ya Bike done, the TdU & TdF done as well as the Riddlers done, our targeted caches has been accomplished. With the teams now split and it was back to FurfacesLL and myself, we had heaps to choose from. Today was cleaning up around Loxton and making our way over to Mildura for the night, before making our way back towards Wagga tomorrow.
A nice quick find here, now onto the next find for the day.
Thanks for the hides FLIPPER&CO And thanks FurfacesLL for a trip to remember [^].

Epic adventures start with a single step. Into the unknown. And this is how I started planning our journey to Renmark HS camp. There were a few hiccups (um Covid) but we got here in the end. Using caching to break up our journey.
We stopped close by to this cache, the kids found it quickly. There were a couple of DVD’s in there but nothing that took out fancy today. Such a great idea.
Thanks for placing this cache for us to find

Today fitzy_1965, two geo-kids & I moved camp from Murray Bridge to what turned out to be Renmark instead of Loxton.
Our main aim was getting to our destination with a targeted little Month trail and an old cache along the way.
All caches found quickly and easily unless otherwise stated.

23,105. Found with minniek during our Post-Christmas escape to South Australia.
This trip to South Australia was on again off again due to the changing circumstances in the various states we had to travel through. Finally getting a green light from all 3 states we headed off early boxing day. Day 12 of our adventures took us from Murray Bridge to Renmark - caching along the way cherry picking on the Wandering Heroes series and completing the OTD May series. All caches were found quickly and in good order unless otherwise stated. Next find of the day. A quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, and then headed off to the next one.
Thanks FLIPPER&CO !!

Driving from barmera to loxton stopped to grab this due to the number of favourites.. no dvds in the car for us to swap unfortunately! Tftc # 128
Tankengine and I were on our way from Tailem Bend to Berri today.
We had plans to pick up a few caches here and there, concentrating on only a special few as we didn't have time to do whole power trails or clear out towns.
This cache: Nice and big and easily found. Sorry didn’t have any DVDs. They are becoming an extinct animal the poor DVD. Tftc FLIPPER&CO!!!

Chooo ooo [Found] with dty73 on our SA Road Trip! So nice that the borders are slowly starting to open! Thanks FLIPPER&CO
Day 380 ( Saturday 12th ) of our trip. Caching along the way. In Loxton today. A total of 12 for the day and 6760 the trip. A grand total of 16,728 caches. TFTC
Geez glad we have Netflix, no one is swapping any good DVDs lately. We were actually surprised to see any DVDs in the cache, most stuff goes missing these days, even the caches.
Found and signed and replaced and on our way.
We came to the Riverland to do our regional getaway and had been hoping to visit up this way for quite some time. It seems like a lifetime ago we had an orange block out at Sunlands, you just cant beat a fresh orange straight off the tree. These days we dont even like buying bags of citrus from the supermarket as we know they arent anywhere near as fresh and juicy as they should be. It was a sttruggle to find some places to stop for food as so many were still being very conscious of the Covid 19 threat but we muddled through. We allowed ourselves the luxury of not necessarily clearing out every cache in an area we just ambled along finding random caches so we had a more relaxing trip, gives us a reason to return another time.
Thanks FLIPPER&CO for the cache and some browsing..

Day 4 Monash B and B to Adelaide
Found with mogni. Slowly heading in the direction of home. Stopped in loxton for a few caches before keeping going. I'll leave the rest for the next trip. quick find.
Myself and mogni came up to the river land to go to MacCabe Corner and find the virtual there plus drive the mail trail in murray sunset national park plus the 4 x 4 track in cooltong national park. The original idea was to go through to mildura but with weather 37, 45 , 37 degrees fore cast we changed plans and stayed in monash instead. Any caches that where found damaged where replaced and any logbooks found full or with 2 or 3 spaces left where replaced.

This was a nice quick find. Sorry, but as we are camping with only a few set caches on our to do list, we didn't have any DVD's with us.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Heading out to do a couple of the Wandering Heroes caches that we were unable to get to on our last visit here. The reason we couldn't get to them was because most of the road was under water. Sooooo different to how it is now. This one made us smile. Thanks for the cache.

On our way to do some “fishing”. Nice find here. Inner container in tip top condition. Favourite point for the outer lid.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache, FLIPPER&CO

Well, the Mega was over, my geobuddies headed back home and now I was off to SA to continue my geotrip solo
Today I was off to Loxton and on the way the target was to grab the WH Fishy Tales geoart and any others along the way. Took a few moments to find this one. Great to find this one as I was heading to my site at the van park.
Thanks for the hide, FLIPPER&CO

Found after completing the fishy tales nearby. fave for reminding us of our great trip to stone henge last year, sorry but no dvds to swap. TFTC!
Travelled up to NW Victoria with feathertop to spend the next 3 days caching in the area. She proved an excellent driver and companion while I was the passenger.
This was one I wanted so a quick stop had the huge cache in hand.

Up in Loxton for the weekend to attend an event and do the On your bike series. This was a quick find and its great to find a decent sized container!! TFTC
Well camoed container. We didn't have any DVDs. We'd have bought some if we knew we'd come across such a cache on our travels. Small swaps traded by the GeoKids. TFTC
After a very quiet night free camping on our own, our journey today continued with ilook4geo. Heading further north we picked up some caches along the way. Container and contents were in good nick, especially for the age. Signed log and put everything back as it had been found. Decided this was far enough for today so set up camp near Loxton. Thanks go to FLIPPER&CO for placing this cache.
Travelling along with goingplaces2 and heading for more caches as we go. Picked out a few Wandering Heroes to look for and then headed north towards Loxton. Time here for a quick stop and a quick find as well. Didn't find any DVD of interest here but left a 4WD DVD called Victorian High Country Adventure. A favourite point for the opportunity. Log was signed, all was returned to place, job done! TFTC.
No DVDs on hand today but had a look what was in the cache, cache is all good
Out for the day caching with nettieknows around Loxton, we collected all the caches in the town but the main reason for our trip was to have a look around Loxton and enjoy the area.
Thanks for the cache

Amazing cache. Easy find. Didn't swap DVD but swapped plenty of other goodies. Tftc
A great sized container with good camo. We took nothing and left nothing but our signature in the logbook. TFTC
Awesome find hopefully big points for the carnival too.
TFTC.
Left a jumbo elephant in there if someone wants to take him for a ride to anothercache hopefully we will find each other again

TFTC. Back on the bitumen after completing Fishy Tales Geo-Art. We decided to stop and attempt the caches on the way back to our Motorhome parked on a property just outside Loxton. We had a great day out and the weather was great for caching.
One of the challenges we are attempting is to find Large caches. These are few and far between, so it is always nice to get a large.

Apologies for the late log. This was my final day of an epic four day caching trip to South Australia and this was the toughest day of the lot. It was 40C in the Riverland and the hot, dry and dusty conditions made it tough going. My original target of caches to find had to be toned down and aim for a more realistic number for the conditions. Main targets were Wandering Heroes caches and a few others along the way. I decided that Alawoona was my turn-around point before heading back north so having cooled off a bit on the journey I was able to tackle a few more near Loxton. This was right on the way so I was able to stop close by and take a look. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache FLIPPER&CO. A neat idea at the time though I guess DVDs are few and far between these days.
