Quick find when I looked with proper caching eyes. And who doesn't love a nice easy multi when travelling. Great to collect a few caches at this beautiful place before heading back to Australia. I also dropped a trackable shark that reached its goal of Shark Bay in WA, Australia so thought a tour of NZ would be nice. Tftc
#15,589. Nice multi bringing us to this historical spot in Pauanui. No problem getting the required information to work out the final coordinates. The final GZ was fortunately all quiet at the time of our visit. Found the cache out in the open. The lid was cracked, but the contents remained nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.Replaced the cache at the closest logical spot.*Thanks for the multi and geocache placement, and for bringing us to these sites, and **.T h a n k s. .f o r. .t h e. .c a c h e.**.M a u r u u r u. .k o e. .n u i. .a t u. .h o k i. .t e. .k e t e r o k i.*---### LET US HAVE A BLOCK PARTY!!! ###On **May 3rd, 2025**, we will be celebrating 25 years of geocaching in **Rotorua, New Zealand** with a special **Block Party** event. Thanks for your amazing cache Glyn. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches. This was my first multi to share with Fisha1288 since becoming a premium member. A nice easy one for us to work out easily. Worth a favorite from me. Cheers, Cympull.
Easy find not far from where new coords took me - lovely freedom camping spot nearby - tftc
Arrived in Puanui today. Very nice settlement with the beach, walkways, waterways and plenty of open spaces. Very impressed with it all! And we picked up a few caches during the day too!Located this one up at the start of our Ad Lab adventure. Straightforward answers and straightforward find, nice and handy! #7053. TFTC.
Another work trip across the ditch and collected this after dinner. Very Noice views from GZ. Thanks for multi
Another delayed log from us on this one as well. Staying the weekend here with Gernita at a friends holiday home
Didnt take too long to do the maths and find the cache. In pauanui for the weekend with friends. TFTC
Accio 14:42:33A much anticipated holiday with T4mmmy all around the North Island of New Zealand - staying for a bit in Pauanui. Today we did a bit of a tour around. Including here. Quick find under rocks. Thanks glyn(the only one) for entertaining me at this location. *{Overall find #11674}*
A good solve of the puzzle by kimbathelion and then a short stroll to GZ to grab the cache. Just finished the cycle trail. Tftc
Found it in the morning during our holiday in Coromandel. Easy puzzle and quick found. Nice place. Tftc
Had parked up overnight at Billy's Point so decided to do a pre breakfast walk.
Great to find there was a multi right outside. Solved the puzzled for a nice quick find. TFTC

Did an early morning visit to examine what was required here. Yesterday we were 2.5 km as the crow flys across the water and had to take a very long and dangerous drive via the back roads to get here overnight due to a serious car accident closing the road for in excess of 5 hours.
TaurusSix and I are in New Zealand for a three weeks holiday. We love New Zealand and have had lots of wonderful experiences here previously. This time we have decided to focus our attention on three destinations for one week each, all in the North Island. The Coromandel Peninsula, Waiheke Island and The Bay of Isles. We are very mindful of not focusing all our attention of the holiday on geocaching, however it will still play an important part. We are deliberately focusing on caches that involve some walking, great views, interesting attractions , history and general points of interest. And this will all happen in between exploring, swimming , walking, doing touristy things and relaxing .

Day 2 - We are now based for the next little while at Pauanui on the Coromandel Peninsula and we woke up to a glorious sun rise. We are ready for the day ahead and exploring this lovely little town. After a very leisurely breakfast we headed to the beach and river mouth area where we undertook a local Adventure Lab, followed by an interesting multi before taking a beautiful scenic river walk with a trail of caches along the way . Part of the walk was a boardwalk through the mangroves which was quite impressive. We are actually very relieved that there are no snakes in New Zealand , we would not be attempting some of these spots at this time of year in Australia

We're staying in Tairua for a few days break and today we traveled over to Pauanui to ride the cycleway and pick up caches. Enjoyed this multi, TFTC
Moved my motorhome up this end of the beach to stay the night here, and noticed this interesting multi nearby. Quick solve of the coord's and off to make an easy find at the final, TFTC
Had done the research on this before leaving home and had a saved copy of where the final would be. Drove down to the end of the road and parked where we stopped and was pretty much as close to the engine block as possible. We did a circuit walk around the peninsula before I made the find of the final. Nice hide here and our only find down 'this end'. Off to a walkway next.
Off out for the day to Pauanui and other nearby areas as the weather forecast for tomorrow doesn't look too flash. We found a 'few' caches by a certain North Island CO, which was to be expected due to the prolific regional placements. Guess we can see where he likes to vacation in Jan each year?
I have got a busy few days coming up, and am heading north to the Coromandel peninsula for the weekend with a work holiday home booked for this upcoming long weekend, including stat day on Monday. Then I'm heading home with mrs c for a couple of days leave followed by a couple of days WFH before heading back to Manawatu and my new work area at the weekend. Not massive numbers of cache finds but a few to keep things ticking over and a surprising amount by Auckland based COs too! Thanks to all cache owners for their contributions.

A plan was hatched amongst a few of the Team SEAC crew from south and east Auckland to spend the day in Pauanui and surrounding areas to find some caches. Mrs HeMaLuDy had previously solved this multi as had a couple of others in the group so we headed to where we believed the GZ to be while others headed to do the calculations. Fortunately we had the correct calculations and made a nice quick find. Off to the next one!
Out with my geocaching buddies "Team SEAC" for a day of adventures.
Nice quick multi, google helped us as we solved it before arriving
Love the beach.....love the area.

Solved this one at home and was glad to see that Mrs HeMaLuDy agreed with my answer, even happier when the GPS led me straight to the final! What a glorious view here. Thanks for bringing me to this location. TFTC!
As luck would have it NZTravellers, B4Dawn and I realised that all our other work and social commitments aligned to give us some free time this week so what better way to put this to use then some afternoon / evening / night caching the WHOLE week!!! After 4 weekdays of very long days (work in the morning, then caching all evening) we took a break on friday to get ready for a bigger Saturday to finish the week off. We had many more Team SEAC keen to join this one which we haven't done in a little while with all the lockdowns etc so it was a great day!
Whilst NurseDr and I went to the posted coords to take a peek the others headed elsewhere with solved, final information. We quickly found the details and whilst the others had now made the find I took the opportunity to teach NurseDr how to put these into the app in order to know where to go next. We wandered over to where the others had gathered and then went along on our way again to the next one.
Thanks for the cache.

B4Dawn posted in our group chat of a trip down this way, a beautiful part of the country, to locate some of the local caches....some of us had found some but the majority were unfound by the group....
Thanks to the CO's for placing and maintaining the caches, with the majority in good condition and dry...
Off the bikes after a little break and refueling at the nearby shopping centre....Stopped by GZ...calculated some co-ordinates,,,hey presto...another smiley...
Signed in as "SEAC" to save logbook space.

I had made a call out to team SEAC to see if anyone wanted to wonder to Pauanui for day outing to grab some caches. Ended up with a swamp of us wanted to go! So on the day itself, we packed up the bikes, picnic food and embarked on this great journey! All logs were signed as "SEAC" to save space.
MrsNZT has solved this ages ago but Keylev and NurseDR wanted to work this out for themselves. It sun was very strong on this day, so I just joined the others in the shade, near where the find was. TFTC

We went for a drive to explore this end of Pauanui, so stopped to check out the SS Wairoa and find this multi. No problems with the calculations and we made the short walk to the final gz where the cache was spotted in the first place we looked. TFTC
I'm staying just 200m from this multi so I braved the howling wind and rain and walked down to the remains to get the info I needed. Calculations done I headed off and made a nice quick find then got windblown back to my accommodation.
We almost didn't look for this one as it had been a long day and we were ready to head home but we were energised by a last minute spearmint thickshake and soon found ourselves working out the final co-ordinates and making a quick find.
An interesting piece of history and a perfect end to our day in Pauanui.
Thanks G-2 for all your awesome caches in the area.

Nice quick find with PhilBirdBoys after a few hours on the beach and in the sea. TFTC.
Nice easy one stage multi! Gorgeous sunny day and needed to find a cache to prove we’d been to Pauanui. SL TNLN TFTC
We are on our summer holiday, we usually take a few weeks and travel around the South Island, but this year we are heading around the North Island. Heading up the West coast and back down the East coast. Finding only a select few caches along the way, we are mostly targeting some challenges we have qualified for, some large size caches, some that fill gaps in our date placed grid, a few D/T combinations, some with lots of favourite points, letterboxes and anything else that grabs our fancy.
I had a fall on day two of our holiday, while out geocaching which has resulted in a fractured bone in my leg and I am in a moon boot and with crutches and I was told to keep weight off my leg. So I am only limited use when it comes to our trip now. I tend to stay in the campervan and just hand out suggestions of when and where GK should search.
We stop every now and then when there is good parking just so that we can get a yellow smiley on our map. This way we can revisit our travels and know which roads we travelled.
We also like to get the nearest cache to where we stay each night, this one was starting just outside our window so gk took a photo of the required information and I worked out where he needed to go to find the cache.
While he wandered over to find it I was watching the athletes who ran down one peak, swam across the water and then apparently they went and ran up another peak. I was exhausted watching them. Later today the beach was closed due to shark sightings, I dread to think what could have become of those athletes if the sharks were a few hours earlier, very very scary.
Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley.
Came to check out the SS Wairoa, gather the info and headed off to GZ. QLeft ur calling card here. Cheers. Beautiful sun rise here today and still very chilly at 8deg but its only just after 6am.
Day 11 - Monday 28 December - Pauanui - Puketui Valley - Whangamata. Another full on day and hills to conquor!
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are off on another geocaching escape over Xmas, this time to the mighty Coromandel, then over to Opotiki and stop off at Rotorua to return home on 5 January. Had an fabulous time exploring many wonders of our country. Rounding up over 400 caches along the way, with a few LABS, 20 odd TMGTs, virtuals and lots of interesting earth caches to keep the mind busy. Watching the sun come up on New Years Day at Mt Maunganui was spectacular. Lots of walking and even more driving. But had an awesome time. Thanks to all COs who made this adventure so special.

Here at dawn. It's a nice pleasant day after the rain yesterday and last night.
Taybeedragon and I went on a tour of the Coromandel - one of the few places of New Zealand, especially of Te ika a Maui, that I have yet to explore throughly, and from there along the coast to Opotiki to see one of my many, many sisters. From 18 December to 5 January we found over 400 caches, including 12 adventure labs (60 caches), 20 or so TMGTs and a host of virtuals and earthcaches. And I hosted an event to see the sun come up on New Year's day - surprisingly popular given that it was at 5am. We climbed a lot of hills, saw some amazing beaches that were quite popular despite (or because of) the insane access to them, walk a lot of bush, entered and explored 8 gold mines and generally had an awesome time. However I am glad to be back, but now is the hard part, and I fear it will take just as long - logging!

Biked to this one this afternoon. Worked out the final to this straight forward multi, leaned my bike against a tree to start my search and there it was at my feet! Nice one, thanks glyn.
Found on my Christmas holidays in Pauanui with Tramyard. Thanks for the cache
out with darby & joan today, a quick walk and a quick find with spot on coords, tftc
A weekend away wouldn't be complete without a cache. I quickly did the maths, then wandered around wondering whether I'd messed it up, but once I got good GPS coverage, I got the cache. Thanks!
I found it. I found it. Have never be here so came for coffee and Sunday brekkie. First stop was the Beauti beach. Such a calm sunny day and some family muggles enjoying themselves. My furball came for a wonder. Did my sums and set off for such a quick neat find thx. Will be back for sure and Thankyou for sharing such a lovely place.
Another hiking day for D4nielB and me. We started on Broken Hills (Water Race Track and Collins Drive) and continued with a relaxing walk in Pauanui. Of course, we also took the chance to look for some caches on our way.
We quickly found the information needed, calculation was no problem and then we could locate the container quickly. Thanks for this one!
Greetings from Hamburg, Germany.

Today Jul1ane and me started with a hike at Broken Hills, going to the Collins Drive via Water Race Track and back down the main track. Afterwards we did a short trip over to Pauanui.
After waiting a bit for a muggel to disappear, we gathered the information for calculating the final, where we found the cache without problems.

After reading the description we were worried the instructions could be misconstrued and if anyone could it would be us. So we reread a number of times and checked and rechecked but walked straight to the nice dry cache in one go. Really QEF for us in a beautiful spot. NINO TFTC
I'd be d*nmed if I were to leave my first weekend in Pauanui without a Find! After having to DNF the top of Mt Paku bc it needed maintenance, we had fish n chips on the beach here and grabbed this simple Multi.
And in the rare times my wife was willing to assist, she understood the description better than I did and actually added it correctly XD. Had to write her name into the log book! Surprised to see that this book has been around for a decade too!!!

Having a bit of a drive-around Pauanui now picking up the odd cache.
At first I calculated using just the part covered by the question mark then I recalculted using all 4 digits. Bingo.
Cheers for the cache.

Seems like the olden days when everyone went out for the traditional Sunday drive. This is both a sightseeing and caching expedition but pretty poor weather with quite a downpour. Little gaps allowed me to retrieve caches ok Liked the history here TFTC glyn(the only one)
Staying in Tairua for a few days; I came over this way for a general recce & came to this cache. Interesting story and quick find.
Thanks for placing & maintaining this cache, glyn (the only one).

We were actually here just to spent the night. Was definitely one of the best spots we stayed in NZ. Lovely beach, free BBQ and a GC 30 meters from where we stayed. While sitting on the beach we calculated the final coordinates and signed the logbook on our way back. TFTC
Well, this cache was always on our radar today. Me and rustynz bowled up here to see what was what. Interesting structure here, I wonder how many years it lay in the ocean before coming back to land??? it looks like many years! So, to the multi, we didn't take long to glean the info, very simple it was to do and in no time we were off to GZ and GL! I tried one tree then the second one I tried revealed the cache, I called out to rusty I had found it and she signed us in! Very happy to do so we were, and thanks again G for another cache in this area we are having a great day of caching.
Last year, or was it the year before? a group of Westies (gorby, supernannny and myself) was on the other side of the harbour, looking at the cache page for this multi. Realising we would not be able to collect, even with a ferry service to the other side. It had to be left for another time, as we just did not have the time! so today it was an easy drive to GZ.
With information collected, some co-ords created we were soon at GZ looking for the cache. I searched the obvious, then gorby called out he had found it. Love it when that happens. Thanks glyn(the only one) for the hide, and bringing us to this amazing spot.

What a beautiful spot especially today as the sun was shining Inspected the plaque and did the calculations and headed off. Still took awhile as GPS wouldn’t settle down finally spied the hide TFTM
Not seen a calculation like this before, but sorted it without too much trouble. Cache located and log signed. Beautiful location. Really enjoying our holiday. Greetings from Kent, England.
Staying in Pauanui for a week or so at my cousins’ bach. After a drive that seemed to go on for ages twisting and turning I wanted to stretch my legs after settling in. This was the 2nd of 3 for today. Found the info easily enough, then wasn’t too sure if it was all four digits or just the last two. Worked on both options and soon worked out it was the all four. Nice easy after that. Gorgeous sunset.
Thanks for placing and greetings from the .

Greetings from some passing Aussie travellers. This was a nice quick little multi. The info for the new co-ords was soon gathered and the hiding place was found not too far away. Following the signing of the log and replacing the container we went for a walk out along the wharf and returned via a walk around the point to our waiting accommodation. Thanks to glyn(the only one) for putting this cache in such a pretty area.
This was a quick and easy cache and I was glad to be on flat ground after a couple of days of hill climbing. The cache was located quickly, despite muggle activity in the area.

A lazy stroll along Pauanui beach to Tairua ferry brought me to Wairoa 'monument'. Math wasn't particularly challenging & cache easy to find. Nice basic multi at beautiful location.
Have not done a multi in a while and it was good to mix it up. Had the assist from friend which made for a quick find.
I stayed there over night, so I did the maths in the evening and found the cache in the morning before breakfast. TFTC!
Took a little longer as we weren't sure if we were using 2 or 4 digits. Got there
