The things you find when you least expect them!! In the area and just happened to stumble across this guy right where you'd expect to find a cache!
Thanks jomerjay73 for an unexpected find Big Grin!

We were in the area with some friends when Buckleysbabe made this find today. Still in place and in good nick.

Funny how you find caches when your not even looking for them!

Not sure why this got archived when it's still in its home. tftc

Ah, the sweet smell of cow sh... now I know we're out of the city.

Now, this is more the homerjay hide I'm accustomed to: twenty minutes combing the area, almost giving up before finding the little sticker where I'd swear I already looked. So I swore a bit more when I finally found it.

The little one kept herself and me amused during this frustrating search by trying out her repertoire of knock knock jokes, interspersed with giggles over the names of the geocaches in the area.

Thanks again for the entertainment.

Find # 1867

Well, it is a fine winters morning and again time for my caching partner in crime sedgwickDave and I to head out on another caching run, headed towards St Andrews, Hurstbridge and the Nutfield area. We usually cache on a Saturday, but decided to change it up a bit and do a Sunday this time.

A very quick drive by after the gpsr finally settled down. Love the cache name. Razz

Thanks to Homerjay73 for the cache. Big GrinCool

14-Nov-11
Ran to this one from GRF123, there's a bit more up and down than I thought there might be... GPSr said the middle of the bridge and after short grid search I made the find. One of life's mysteries - how did that rock get in there? Thanks.

29/05/2011 15:28 Found: #478 Went on a log-ish drive as its a weekend and these are too far away for a week-day collection. I was a bit concerned about the possibility of finding this cache as it seems to have been a bit of a tricky one to several searchers in the past. I admit we used the hint and that made it pretty straight forward. It was also slightly visible when I looked in the correct location. I had slight assistance from Caching Wizard Wink as he basically got out of the car and stood about. TFTC homerjay TNLN SL

Found at 5.00pm. Had gone out and about trying to do a clean up of the area with xambo4u and also introducing syzygy50 to the pastime. We had looked at this a while ago but no joy - today it was found quickly although by Mrs xambo4u who was quickly at GZ as we parked the car. Another one that was good to clean up today. 5.00 7th for the day. Out and about with 80 dregrees today and Margaret /syzygy in training. Mrs 80 has the plan and we have a new driver, Mr 80. The weather is great and we want to clear out a few that we have missed over an area. Nice and handy to have the 4 wheel drive for these dirt roads. Parked the beast over the bridge and made our way back. Not where I thought it was going to be but pretty close
Thanks for bringing us here

14-Feb-11
Another bugger of a cache.
Parking proved a bit of a problem.
I think the locals are getting used to foreign people on their bridge as well.
I had to return to the car and read a few logs before a second assult on the cache.
Also did a bit of a google for the uninitiated.

The title of this cache comes from a Simpsons episode where, during a teachers' strike at Springfield Elementary, Bart spreads a rumor amongst a crowd of teachers that Principal Skinner "claims that the teachers are going to crack any minute". this gets whispered amongst the strikers and, in the time-honored tradition of that child's game, the message gets changed and appended as it bounces from person to person until the penultimate teacher races up to the head striker to announce:

"Skinner says the teachers will crack any minute, purple monkey dishwasher"

Scene from the Simpsons:
The teachers picket outside the school, holding placards reading "2+2, a
raise is due", "A is for apple, B is for raise", and "Gimme! Gimme!
Gimme!" Lisa twists Miss Hoover's arm: "So if we were in school this
week, what do you think we'd be learning?" but Miss Hoover shuns her.

Edna: Good news, people!
[the other teachers cheer]
I'm happy to announce that another union has joined us in a
sympathy strike: the piano tuners' Local 412!
[the teachers look at one another, confused]
[a piano tuner stands outside a house with an out-of-tune
piano and looks smug]
Bart: [walking up] Now for Operation Strike-Make-Go-Longer.
[to teacher] You know, I heard Skinner say the teachers will
crack any minute.
[the teachers whisper it forward through the line]
Teacher: [to Edna] Skinner said the teachers will crack any minute
purple monkey dishwasher.
Edna: Well! We'll show him, especially for that "purple monkey
dishwasher" remark.
[everyone shouts their assent]

Gotta love these caches!

Our second attempt at this cache on our way home. Our GPS still took us to the wrong side of the bridge and after reading a previous log entry we expanded our search. Don't know why we did not see it on the first visit. Great hide and camo, simple and very effective. T4TC

12-Nov-09
Took awhile as my GPS was pointing to the other side and there was the odd muggle.

12-Nov-09
As the day was a bit cooler decided to do a few caches - first of several and found at 1553 hours after a bit of a search - a clever cache

03-Oct-09
Found this one at 16:30 while on my way home from a quick caching tour of the area. This was my third attempt at this one (3rd time's a charm Wink) so it was nice to knock it off the list. The other times I had concentrated my efforts too much on the wrong side of the bridge Red Face. Oh well, that'll learn me Wink.

TNLNSL, although our 1st traveller into the cache geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks homerjay73.

Should have checked the terrain rating before checking out all those 4* locations. DOH!

Then again, the terrain is probably over rated. You really could do this from a wheel chair, if you could get the wheel chair to the general vicinity.

Found by Bob at 1600

Well, the road's unmade - but I'd classify it as pretty good (I brought the car today rather than my motorbike largely because of this cache description). Anyway, it was nice to get out on some rougher stuff in the comfort of a big 4wd rather than a 1wd so I was happy (and I didn't have to worry if it was going to rain). The cache turned out to be a pretty easy find having read the logs and the clue - but it's a good and well disguised hide too.

Thanks again Homerjay73

On a caching day with Muzza and Barcoder cache # 20 of 30 today. cache found at 1504. My thanks to homerjay73 for the cache.

23-Feb-08
This is number 19 of 30 caches found today in company with Muzza and Kiwideb on another great caching day. The weather was perfect, the company excellent, the caches fantastic. Whenever you see one of these constructions you immediately think that you know where it is. Well, you are not always right, but if you look a bit harder it presents itself.Cool After some J & J cache maintenance on this one, we replaced it for the next cacher. Many thanks for this cache homerjay73.

Found at 4.05pm GAFF5. Second time 'round and this cache still didn't just jump out at us and say "here I am". When we finally spotted it we realised that we had way overestimated the difficulty and terrain rating (probably because of the difficulty and terrain rating on the cache page)

Because of the 3.5 terrain rating there was absolutely no way that we were going to just look from the road - which is all that is needed actually. This is a 3.5 - therefore some difficult dangling or walking under bridges amongst rocks and sleepers is necessary - or so we thought!

This cache is actually accessible by people in wheelchairs - therefore a terrain rating of 1 and 1.5 at the most. Difficulty 1 or 1.5 as well.

Hope this helps homerjay73 - thanksfor the cache.

16-Feb-08
pprass. Do you realy believe that a person in a wheelchair could
A. navagate this road and steep descent? or
B. reach to get this?
C'mon be realistic. Sounds a bit silly don't you think?

We found our 3rd HomerJay cache at 4:40pm as the 6th of 12 on our Warrandyte to Yan Yean Ramble. We were beginning to thimk that we were going mad on this one, when finally an accidental view from an odd perspective managed to secure the clever location. Thanks for the cache from D & H B-A.

Find #3 of 8 on a northern excursion with pinguone.

For such an out-of the way place we were disturbed 4 times by cars wanting the cross the narrow bridge! Like several other hunters we reckon the co-ords take you to the other side. Another nicely constructed and hidden cache.

Thanks homerjay73.

02-Feb-08
Found with ssmc4 + Jeff the dog.
We must've looked fairly suspicious lurking around the area - you feel tucked away and safe, but when a car comes you've nowhere to hide....there's only so many times you can pretend to be taking a 'rest' on a little lane when the same locals keep coming back & forth Smile
Spotted on the other side of the spot our trusty Garmin & Magellens put us....found it after grovelling around low before accidently spotting it on the other side at my eye level.

Cache # 23 of 29 in company with acts2youthgroup in our 'clean up the northern suburbs' day. We found this one at 1535. This cache caused us the most heartache of all the caches we found today. By now, we knew enough about homerjay73 caches to ignore the terrain rating. However, after ten minutes of fruitless searching, we checked the possibility that it really was terrain 3.5. It wasn't. We read the logs, we cracked the hint, and in the end, we phoned a friend. It still took us a while to find it. We were just about to give up when we stumbled upon it. Then I couldn't understand how we had missed it. I made no exchange. Thanks to homerjay73 for the cache, Cheers, dak.

01-Feb-08
This was cache # 19 of 24 for the day in the company of dak's Emu mob on our northern suburbs assault, the cache was found at 1525. We felt like a couple of monkeys on this one, it gave us a major heading, we even called a help line and it still took us some time after that before dak finally came up with goods. My thanks to homerjay73 for the cache.

Another successful find to a day of interesting caching. The locations have been a bit of a head scratcher. Now use to the hiding and camo jobs being used. Has given Thyla a interesting idea for a future cache.

Having read a previous log we ignored the terrain rating and just followed our receivers needle. Although even it misrepresented the final location by just a touch it was close enough for us to make a relatively easy find.
