Looks to be signs of drunken muggles at the GZ, so may need to be looked at.

Amazing to think of the hard toil that went into making those tunnels. Mr AK prodded a spider and discovered that they jump! TFTC.
We 'bravely' went down the tunnel with our headlamps, until my daughter spotted a cave spider - then it was full speed reverse!
Maus1 and I went walking one day and almost missed the site it was so obvious.
We really enjoyed the Tunnels. Have lived around this area for years and didn't even know they exisited!
More interesting gold mining history and a good place to explore. SL. TFTC.
A great place to visit. Amazed at the labours of the miners - in this case seemingly all for nothing.
TFTC.

Me and Mum walked all the way to the end of the tunnel with huge wetas and all sorts of things I dont want to think about, I even got a little bit claustrophobic which is unusual for me. We then came out and I reread my notes again and the clue and Mum remembered seeing it. A quick find after that. The logbooks seems to be Stella's personal timeline. TFTC
I didn't venture into the tunnel as it would have meant wet feet. Perhaps next time. On arrival the cache was very exposed so I concealed it a little better when I left. Thanks Hatas
was just on dusk, so after a quick find, we stayed parked here for the night. lovely and quiet except for one very loud Weka
Looked at the tunnel but there were lots of webs.
Thanks for bringing me here.
Visting from Australia caching along the way.
Thanks for the cache.

With a sleeping Toddler B in the car, it was left to Mr B & Jnr B to do this one. They didn't have much luck with the GPS so resorted to the clue and was then an easy find. A great spot for a cache and well worth the visit. TFTC
We did some other good ones today but in many ways this was thee cache of the day. Just a short walk but interesting area and a tui singing in the trees. It helped that the sun came out - for a short tme anyway. TNLN TFTC
2774. Another great spot that we could have easily missed but for geocaching.
We took the TB with us.
Thanks

Cool cache!
Maybe its a good idea not to put pens in caches because they dry up and don't work...

NIcely hidden. The water in the pond is really really clear. Interesting tunnels. TFTC
We relied on the hint to find this one. With a poor GPS reception there where just too many damp places where the box could be hidden. We didn't dare to go very deep into the tunnel either. It looks quite claustrophobious.

Another great West Coast cache, we are having a great day, and just loving all these snapshots of history. Thanks so much for interesting cache placements. Dropped off Pukeko TB, but have accidentally logged him into GC188AV so if anyone picks him up, thats where you'll find him, sorry about that. TFTC definitely!
What an amazing area, wouldn't have even known about this without the cache being placed in this area
Thanks

Wow, what a wonderful place. I didn't venture into the hole as I had left my torch in the car. Cache and contents look like new! TFTC
It was an easy find, was wary of the weta's hanging around going by the comment in the last entry but there were none THANK GOD! Good day overall and the tunnels were neat.
Went up the tunnel only to wonder what kept falling on my head, oh, cave weta - creepy.
Oooh, yes, you can hear the rushing water. Didn't go more than 10m down the upper tunnel though, as my back wouldn't take any more. Cachebox was totally drenched - needs a better waterproof seal. No swaps, thanks and cheers from Grandalf(1162)
A great bit of history here, beaut spot. Had a torch in the car but decided not to venture in. TFTC.
Fascinating site, amazing what was done in the search for gold. Thanks.

It was left to Mrs to find the cache and write up the log which was completed easily while Mr was shinning his torch in the tunnels. We were fasinated by the sounds of rushing water. TFTC TNLN
Would have been a slightly easier cache if we'd started from the bottom of the hill than from the top... interesting place once we got there.
I just wonder how far back the noise of rushing water in the lower tunnel originates. I walked to the end of the upper tunnel and was glad I was wearing a hat otherwise I’d need to change my name to BaldScrapedEd. The cache and contents were wet as the poor design of the seal on that round Sistema container will never manage to keep water out. Dried the contents, but they will be wet again after the next shower. TNLN.
Cool spot! Went in the tunnels to have a look with Kiwi Moose, but then realised that the cache was outside Went out and found it pretty quickly. Cheers Gav [1896]
Along with Rediguana we went up the tunnel. After 20m thought that it had to be somewhere else and so it was. TNLN Thanks.
Interisting spot, walked up the tunnel ( they must have been short miners) but not as short as the ones who did the drain tunnel, found the cache with the clue in the end
Cool spot and rather fascinating. Well of course I had to check out the main tunnel and was rather surprised how far it went in. Pretty obvious why they stopped digging where they did when you reach the end.
Nice one! TFTC

Out today in not so pleasant wet weather, looking for traditional caches. This one was fascinating, but still a quick dash and grab. Thanks
Found this one and scarpered quickly - were being eaten alive by mozzies - thought I collected enough bites on yesterday's caching trip but the mozzies here still found some spaces. Had a wee look in one of the tunnels as it was thankfully free of bities in there.
The sound IS impressive - we could hear it today as soon as we entered the area. TFTC

Another awesome area not known. Enjoyed the tunnel sound, B and I speculated about what was causing it but came up blank. Ventured into the tunnel briefly until J spotted some live critters and bolted back out! (nancy). Cache found with ease here by B, not too many likely places, and description helps. TNLN Cheers!
Third cache for the evening (dark now) and third FTF.
Again the co-ords seem to be slightly out (I get S42 46.173 E171 00.158). Fantastic spot - loved the running water sound!!!
