Sweet_bee and I were out and about and decided to drop in on this old beast.
I remember when Captain Terror found this one - it certainly was a good find at the time.
We moseyed up toward GZ. Well no - it's obviously not here. I moved off toward the distance where others say the found it from GZ.
About 5m from my original GZ I stopped. A green lid. A green fruit container lid. Ah yeah.. Not a good sign. Near my new GZ I find an old baggie.. Damn.
I decided to fan out in the almost vain hope of finding a log or the container. About 40m from the posted co-ords I found the container itself.. complete with log! I reassembled the cache (surprise the lid is a perfect fit for the container) and re-hid where I believe it should live (about 21m from GZ as previously stated)
I dunno how much longer this one will survive. If its been found before, it might be found again. Currently, the contents are nice and dry.
Thank you to Captain Terror for alerting everyone to the presence of the archived cache - and to those who went to the trouble to put helpful information in their logs.
A nice little area to visit. TFTC tonebone

We were in the area looking up some trees, and as we were leaving, Engphil saw an archived cache nearby.
After a few false starts, we found another spot the clue fitted and after a shirt search we found the cache. There was a bit of water in the container and the original log book was wet.
There was a replacement log that was sign-able.
Thanks

Found withe EngPhil, the geokids, and totalube. As EngPhil mentioned, the coords appear to be pretty far out, but with the kids providing a reasonable distraction we were able to widen the search TFTC!
Find #1706 at 16:25 with Palopinto, MissGeosie, BopsyGirl and Totalube while doing recon on another nearby cache.
Contents are pretty wet, but the log left by the previous finder is in good shape -- we signed that. Container is so far holding up well considering the status.
Coords are a few metres out, we found it about 10m further from the playground than the GPS suggested.
Thanks for the (archived) cache, tonebone.

A short stroll to GZ with dahumbug and Jelly the Wonderdog. It only took a second to have the cache in hand and be signing the logbook.
Thanks for the cache tonebone

Found with Nyssa when we happened to be in the area.
Did not see any scribbly bugs, but I did see some scribbly gums. A short walk from the car and we had this one in hand in no time.
Thanks to tonebone for the cache and CT for bringing this one back in play.

Parked close by and made my way in.
the cicadas were no tin today as it was too cold for them but are really noisy in the summer on the scribble gum.
Soon at GZ with a cache in hand.

cache find # 1451. We are working on finding archived caches, and this one was on our list for today.
We found a cache which was 21metres from the given coordinates, and in accordance with the hint.
The log book was too slimy to touch, so we signed our names on our own piece of paper, and placed that in a small bag into the cache, so hopefully others will find. TFTC.

Captain Terror and I were sitting at his house and decided that we should make the most of the beautiful afternoon so we hopped in the car and headed out to grab a few caches. I had been most interested in the last few logs on this cache and the Captain really wanted to check out this other container to solve the mystery of dual containers.
We got to GZ and we started hunting around. I used some information from the last log to work out where the cache was and we found it about 20m away from GZ. It was an identical container to the one that the Captain removed recently. It was in better condition than the one he took though the logbook was still too wet for me to sign. Thanks for the cache tonebone.

After finishing at St Andrew's golf course DiamonJs brought us here for an archived cache and to get some verification that she did find the cache as Captian T doubted this cache was here. It is definitely here, but is in horrible condition. So bad that there was no point opening the container. TFTC Tonebone
I have just re read Captain Terrors log and we definitely found a cache at this site on 17/4/14, although it was yuk we left it there for others to find. Obviously there was two caches in place. As it was to wet to write in log, we took photos instead.
During the week I was introduced to Archive caches and how to find them, so I looked up what was close and went for this one. Rusty made a find but we think it is a different one to the one captain Terror found. Ours was not broken and was full of water and had different things inside and I hope to never open a container to that smell again. It was the same type of container but, mystery!!! Maybe one had been replaced at some time. I enjoyed looking for this one and will be trying more archives now. TFTC
I had a great day today, out geocaching with friends all over the place and for all sorts of geocaches. It was sunny at times and it was rainy at others. On my way home I decided to swing past this lovely park and have a look for this geocache.
Finding archived and long unfound geocaches is something that I enjoy doing and I flagged this one as 'possibly still in place'. Let's worry about the state of the logbook later.
So it had been raining lately and I knew there would be no muggles about. I parked up and headed off up the path at a weird angle. Nobody to be seen so in the late afternoon and heavy cloud cover, I grabbed a stick and started fossicking about. After checking a few places and poking around for a few minutes I came across.. some sort of container. I plucked it out and yep, it looked kind of like a geocache.
Over to the path in a little more light and it matched the description, an old 'SPC' type of container, screw top, green lid and full of trinkets and a baggie that had what was once a logbook, but now a solid mass of paper fiber. I examined closer, booted out a huntsman and realised the sad state of this hide. The container has seen far better days and now sported a massive hole in the side. The plastic was deteriorated and crumbled every time I touched it. I was impressed it had had troubles of being left in the open, but had lasted for so long archived. I decide with no love and resembling simply litter, I chose to remove this container.
I have posted photos of the find (apologies that my GPSr takes somewhat average photographs in low light) to show what was left. I was happy to find an archived geocache, but sad to have to see it go. TFTC tonebone

Wow, didn't check the log for this one before heading out today, so didn't realise it had been disabled.
Found the cache container though, and added our name to the bottom of the list of names on the replacement log left there by LEDGIN'S.

Found today. Cache was lying above ground and exposed, and the jar was almost empty apart from notebook, in which I logged my find. Kids, I guess!
I love a cache with a nice convenient car park along side... Problem is, I didn't notice the car park til I was on my way out....
This is a very quaint little park but not much cover. PLenty of people out today, taking advantage of the sunshine and mowinf their lawns. Fortunately, there was no-one at the park...
GPS had me a little way off the mark but when you get to the area, it is fairly obvious where the cache is.
Log book was a little damp but still usable. Forgot to check for the TB so not sure whether it was in residence....
Cheers

Found on a cool afternoon trek with the kids.
We were searching for a while in the wrong place.
Whilst searching some muggles asked what we were doing at this park. We knew them and started to discuss geocaching. They were interested enough to look into it.
Anyway the distraction allowed us to reasses our approach and we found GZ.
Cloud cover put GZ out by 15m.

Lovely park. Thankfully for the cache description and clues I didn't have to go searching around every tree in this park. A good little park for a cache, thanks for putting one here. TNLN.
We also found the Co-ords to be about 15m out. Thanks to the good clue, the cache was soon in hand. TNLN - SL - TFTC.

Found the cache at old coordinates - must be there have two caches??? so I will return back and check another cache with new coordinate. SL. Thanks tonebone for organising the cache and hunt.
Got to this one in the half light. Searched around the tree that was closest to GZ looking for a small container to no avail. Threw caution to the wind and looked where I thought the cache should be and there it was, quite exposed and was a bit bigger than I thought it was going to be. Logged and then recovered a bit better. Now I reckon the coords could be up to 17m out, I didn't take a snapshot of the coords though, looking at the track I would place the cache at the coords attached. Hope that helps.

Found today at 11:30 pm. Needs a maintenance visit asap as it looks like the local kids have found it. Gathered up what I could but it won't last. Maybe a new location?
Cache has been Muggled. Log-book & T.B. GONE. Left 1 piece of paper for signing until Log-book is replaced.
In the book of LEDGIN'S. Found at 11.40pm. Unfortunately Cache container was in plain view with the top off. Log book and T.B. gone. A couple of swaps left. Sorry but I didn't have a spare log book with me. Left 1 piece of paper for signing until Log book is replaced. TNLN. TFTC.

Thought it was going to be tricky because there were muggles all about. However, we must have smelt bad because they all cleared out within a couple of minutes.
Finally got around to this one. It is only about 1km from home. Coordinates had us about 20m away but was an easy find anyway although had to watch out for the muggles playing nearby.

had to shelter for a short time in the nearby kids playground. found this one with Nosugrefs. thanks
1437- I agree that the co-ords are off. We found the obvious tree and the cache. Bruce was saying your no where near it while I held up the cache with a sma--t-r-e grin. The cache was opened on the ground with the contents spread out. Luckily the logbook etc wasn't too wet after all the rain. Thanks for the cache.

Co-ords seem to be a bit off but cache location was obvious. There were no cicadas today - must be the showers - quite a few kookaburras though. dropped TB. TFTC
After a long day back at work I wound down by finding a few local caches TFTC.
I wandered up to GZ and immediately spotted the likely spot. The scribbly bugs had been hard at work
In this great little park I found the cache sitting out in the open but seemingly untouched with not a single muggle scribble in the log book
Very strange! I signed the log and rehid the cache

Only 400m from work and it took me a week to get here. I must be slipping.
Loved those marks. I wonder if they are secret writings from aliens?
TN but dropped in a few swaps as the container was looking a bit bare.

Our last find for today. Miss Steve made a bee-line for the playground as soon as we arrived.
The co-ordinates led us straight to the cache. Those bugs really have been busy! The cache is dry and in good condition. We signed the log, returned the cache and then spent the next 20 minutes trying to extract Miss Steve from the equipment! Thanks for the cache, and for showing us another lovely park!
