Thought I might check out all these archived caches. Will drop notes on each one and update if cache is there or not..Used the coords in previous posts and searched all over the trees and wall. No go Im afraid.

Decided to travel round the mountain catching up on some caches we missed last time. Glorious day for travelling.
No 10. After reading back through previous logs and using their co-ordinates we were successful. Very interesting place. SL. TFTC.

I couldn't really pass this one up, as it is only a short walk from the MCG cache. The walkway is interesting, as it isn't really that well defined as a path, but I managed to follow the various markers to the watchtower, and went by the hint and Geco72's coordinates to find the hide. Thanks for the cache.
A revisit went to the old site couldn't find it checked logs and found new coordinates used them and the hint made sense
Searched for some time before using revised co-ords in earlier log. Enjoyed the interesting site.
Found on a trip around the area with TuisReturn.
Co-ords certainly a long way away but found using hint and co-ords in a previous log.

Yet another Tremichlan cache with laughable co ords so needless to say I didn't even look, let alone follow the outrageously incorrect published co ords but rather relied on Geco72's co ords which proved to spot on for a quick find.
Thanks heaps Geco72 . I'm glad someone knows how to get proper, accurate co ords as it's obvious the CO doesn't know what they are doing and is struggling.

Spent a day showing off the Naki to a friend whose visiting, and found a few caches along the way. #3 for the day. After searching at the given coordinates and then entering the new advised ones which had me at Kaupokanui, gave up and found another cache. But on walk back to the car hunted according to the clue...FOUND! 95m from coordinates. I make the coords S39°32.789 E174°08.199. TFTC

This may need rethinking. Tomorrow weather permitting. Manaia, Samland,JDSavannah, Zammlander and others and I will look at this tomorrow when i give my nieces and nephews further geocaching lessons tomorrow. Isgar confirms reattachment. My thought is to move again and simplify. Sorry for the DNF. Text 027 3094534 if needed tomorrow morning as can give temp co-ordinates. Cheers.
No luck after nearly an hours search.
Need a much better clue.
Please fix, here for a few days.

Despite a thorough search we couldn't lay our eyes on this one today. Maybe next time.

Got an email from owner suggesting cache was back so geo daughter and I went out for a hunt but no luck.
Xmas has gone and still no cache. Time this was put to rest so that someone else can place something at this interesting historic spot.
The owner of this cache has not responded to requests for maintenance and appears to be out of the country. It is a waste of time trying to do this cache and the likely location of the caches means walking over the garden which is not in the spirit of caching. I would wait until the owners post a note that the caches has been restored or archived.
Found with my Uncle, TreMichLan, while he was going to maintenance but it was nowhere near where it was placed and has sustained some damage. Cache needs replacement TFTC
No luck today ... didn't know about all those DNFs as we only had the coords ...
Called by this one today and then read the logs before we headed off, and saw the previous 3 DNF and decided to abandon our trek to this one today. Will keep an eye on it for another trip.
looks as if cache has been taken at correct co-ordinants but no go. neat place
Hmmm,
We found a few spots where the cache would be well hidden, seemed to line up well with the clue. No luck.
Then spotted a suspicious container nearby the looks a lot like a white 1litre icecream container.
Muggled possibly!
Still, a lovely spot.

Second time I've had to walk over a golf course to get a cache. Love all the history here especially the tower TFTC
Interesting that a walkway parallels a golf course - FOREboading! Lovely, though.

We use to live in Waimate so could not go past this without having a look. Nice to have a walk around this area, although some of the golfers probably wondered why we were going backwards! T pen, L pen. TFTC
Netty and I really enjoyed the walk and the interesting features along the way. However, I was uncomfortable about the final approach to the cache. I tip-toed through a slightly circular route to try not to damage the better looking plants.
Really not sure about the cache location here. Right now it is in the middle of a huge bed of flowers and it doesn't seem possible to reach the cache without trampling on the lovely flowers. Owner may want to consider placing it so it is reachable from the track so that one doesn't need to trample the garden. Cheers Gav [4719]
Lovely place with very sad history...built on an urupa..

It turned out to be quite a good day for geocaching,
We kinda had an idea of where the cache was hidden, turns out we were wrong because our GPS was telling us something else we then thought of the clue and had pretty much found it in a matter of minutes.
Thanx for the great cache, well hidden
Took travel bugs.

This was my second attempt at this cache, finally managed to look in the correct location, found cache quickly, took Stickerooni's OshnDoc Geocoin and noticed that there was two Travel bugs in this cache, dropped off Travel Bug Dog Tag, TFTC SL (1051)
What a great spot and a good history lesson for us and our daughter. Had no idea that this was even there.
Took travelbug (pink sparkle ball), and left a small blue caribeener.

#101 Once I had located the track, I was away. Interesting history. Found cache easily, had to look for the log, such a small book for a large cache TNLN TFTC

Now this is a great little spot, compared to some of the previous locations.. A hidden gem in the middle of a golf course.. Took a walk along the path and found the cache.. Lots of TB's in here.. Took one to move along.. Thanks for showing us this spot and the watchtower a few hundred metres away..
Dried out container as best we could. Took away all the sodden material. So hopefully the cache will stay dry. NINO
One feels very discombobulated walking this walkway, however cache was found in the area stated. We would suggest that the cache now needs to be moved, as the club has planted the whole area in garden and there is no way to get to the cache without carefully stepping over small plants; not the best really. Cache is totally soaked, so maybe if it is moved a more suitable container could be arranged as well. NINO TFTC
Nice walk, shame the logbook and cache are sodden and growing mould.
Such a peaceful spot.
Many thanks for the walk.

good find cache is pretty wet. I will return in a few weeks to replace the wet items and add some waterproofing
This is a neat area. Felt strange walking around a golf course. Spoke to the locals all very friendly. What an interesting tower.TFTC NINO
Still requires maintenance (see ADV's log September). Very wet cache, not at all waterproof.
Several pads of saturated paper in cache. Fortunately someone has added a small new log in a plastic bag, but that is already collecting condensation.
Container needs replacing with waterproof container. Stash note also required.
Not quite the worst condition I've seen for a cache.

Easy find from the lower walkway, which seems very disjointed. Enjoyed calling by the watchtower replica. Why a concrete replica of a wooden building????
It's a shame that history shows the only response to a peaceful resistance is warfare! We could learn much.

JDSavannah strikes again! Well, in conjunction with TreMichLan. [8)] A lovely day of caching in Taranaki
Had a major look around the area, but couldn’t find the final at the GZ, but noticed that the gardeners have being in here the last day or so doing their spring cleaning around the location of the GZ
Found it after a short stroll over the green. Have to trust my gps next time....

Second find for the day. Was ushered across the greens by a couple of sweet old ladys playing golf LOL.
Stopped for a look at the tower, and tried to imagine the place a hundered years ago.
Found cache easy enough, but contents of cache were very very wet, nothing dry to write on, so closed it back up and hid it again.
Heading out there again soon to do another cache so will take new container, book and pencil for this one.
Started raining so visit was cut short.

P.S. The contents are still very wet. We tried to dry them out on a rock for half an hour but are not sure it did much good.

No problems with the find. Added new mini log book in its own ziplock bag, sorry didn't have any silica. Hopefully this will defeat the dampness issues with the cache.

An early morning visit but no golfers seen, they must of still been in bed. Cache is in a lovely little setting and it was quickly found. It is however very waterlogged and like the last visitor I left a record of my visit on a small slip of paper added to the cache.
Many thanks.
Many thanks.
Found it after a little zig zagging. We should have read the instructions first as we tried to do the walkway backwards but the signing doesn't work like that. Having said that the locals were very friendly and didn't mind us wandering around the golf course. It is a lovely spot and we enojyed the grounds and the history.
The cache was wet so we added our name on a dry piece of paper. It looked like the lid was not fully on and we had trouble too until we removed the TB. TFTC.

Found with Scoop81. Lovely leafy walk alongside the Waiokura and the seat hewn from wood in the rest area near GZ was good for Scoop81 as I galloped on toward the cache. We learnt that the movers and shakers for the walkway was the Keep Manaia Beautiful Society, principally local identities Jack Landers and Melva Yarrow. The local indoor bowling club donated the seat and the sculptured further on is dedicated to Lorna Le Fleming who can often be seen walking the walkway regularly in the late afternoon. Neat spot.
[Our 7th of 9 cache finds today. No golfers today, just the man mowing. Easy to follow the walkway signs. We enjoy the caches where there's a little bit of history involved. TNLNSL, TFTC] Just a wee thing, the ladies name in the hint is Bev, not Beth (I have a thing about getting peoples name's correct!
another fun find, had to dodge a few golfers on Taranaki anniversary. Nice secluded spot.

Originally drove around to the back of the golf course, only to learn the lesson of reading cache details first! Parked near the clubhouse, found the walkway and enjoyed the trek to find the cache. Nice spot and cheers for the cache
3rd FTF today. We got a bit lost on this one, couldn't spot where to go and ended up crossing the mown grass, oops!, don't know much about golf courses and think we may have chosen the wrong route. No-one was around fortunately but we felt a bit like fish out of water! Came from the wrong direction at GZ and floundered a bit until we finally spotted what we were after and then found the cache easily. Wasn't sure about having to enter the planted area, it might suffer. TNLN. TFTC. Nice walkway.
