Good hide, used the hint to help find it in-between other walkers. Couldn't sign as unfortunately the log was soaked. TFTC
Happy New Zealand trip with geocaching.A pity were with muggle friends and cant visit as much as geocaches as we like. I appreciate all the caches we passed and visited. Thanks, XenaCommander, for the cache. Greetings from Taiwan.
Together with Birba68 we made a wonderful walk and on the way back we found this Cache. Thank you
There were a few muggles about, but they weren't taking notice of us, so signed the log and headed back down the hill. Looking forward to the cold beer at the end, thanks
Great cache but it was completely wet. Container doesn't seem to be water tight anymore.TFTC
I wasn't expecting the change of vegetation during this hike but it was really nice to enjoy the forest at the end of the walk. The cache itself was pretty wet and the coordinates were a bit off for me. Check the hint for some help. TFTC
No luck here today but we didn't search long as lots of other muggle hikers passing
We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Signapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. Yesterday we drove to Tongariro National Park from Wellington. We did some sightseeing but for today we plan to hike the Tongariro Crossing. We hiked it about thirty years ago so we are curious if it has changed a lot. We are lucky because the weather looks good. Mostly blue sky, some clouds, some sun and a nice temperature. A very nice spot for a break. No muggles around so we went straight for the cache. With the hint in mind it was found after a short search. Logbook was wet but we managed to sign it. After placing the cache back we sat here for a while enjoying the beautiful rain forest and the singing birds. Thank you very much for this cache.
On our sixth day in New Zealand we walk the beautiful Tongariro Crossing Alpine trail. This nice cache lay on our way.TFTCHennesAt the end comes the poem of the day.New Zealand By James K. Baxter (for Monte Holcroft)These unshaped islands, on the sawyers bench,Wait for the chisel of the mind,Green canyons to the south, immense and passive,Penetrated rarely, seeded onlyBy the deer-cullers shot, or else in the northTribes of the shark and the octopus,Mangroves, black hair on a boxers hand. The founding fathers with their guns and bibles,Botanist, whaler, added bones and namesTo the land, to us a bridleAs if the id were a horse: the swampy townsLike dreamers that struggle to wake,Longing for the poets truthAnd the lovers pride. 4-week family trip through NZ - Find #96!Walking the Tongariro Alpine Crossing with my son ChrisAngel99. We found this cache after a short search. However, the logbook is totally wet and unusable.TFTC!
Fotolog because everything was wet.Thank you for the cache and greetings from Switzerland.
It was a very hot day on the Tongariro crossing today, so we were grateful for the shade and seats near gz. It was only 1pm but we stopped for some cake before continuing on down the hill. TFTC
Found it easily. We were happy it got a bit warmer down here. The cache is very wet, so it everything inside the container. Thanks for the cache
Luckily all people on the hike were too busy with themselves to notice me logging this TFTC!
Great day for the Tongariro Crossing - but cache unfortunately soaked through. Still, a nice spot for a break - TFTC
Today we walked the famous alpine crossing. It was a crowdy hike , cause so many people have the same idea at this day. We enjoyed the walk and on our way we grabbt this little one and signed it . Tftc from macajoh
Mr spotted this quite quickly as Mrs had a lovely rest on the convenient seat. TFTC.
Found with snozzidy. Is super wet. The waterproof paper is a very sensible touch. Tftc

Todays section of the Te Araroa trail between kilometres 1109-1143 involved mainly the Tongariro Alpine Crossing and then onto Whakapapa via the Mangatepopo track. A full day walking of eye popping views, what an amazing place to walk through. It was weird to aee so many other hikers today after so long not seeing many, this is sure a popular Great Walk, though the crowds were headed in the opposite direction. The weather has not been great so it was awesome to catch a clear day amongst all the gloom so I could get to really enjoy my visit.Good to also be able to get some smiley's along the way, my thanks to the cache owner for going to the effort to place one up here, it makes an already great walk a bit greater.-- This log is trackable ! ---- Feel free to discover ---- Please mention, in which cache you've seen this code: ---- 3TABQX --
We are on our long-awaited journey around the world in 99 days. Second try after canceling in 2020.
Our third stop after Los Angeles and Hawaii is New Zealand.
This time was of course used to find some geocaches here.
Today we did the Tongariro Crossing and while that time we were searching for the Traditional **Ketetahi Tea Break (Central Plateau)**
Thank to the Hints and the good coordinates the little box was found quickly!
After signing the logbook there is a new smile on our geocaching map!
At least we would like to take this opportunity to thank XenaCommander for creating and maintaining this Traditional.
Greetings from Nuermberg/Germany

P.S. To save space in the logbooks, we not only enter in sequence, but also in empty spaces between.

spent 6 great weeks in New Zealand with my ?? The start was a bit bumpy (Cyclone Gabrielle) but then it got better and better. We travelled to both islands and discovered a lot. We photographed and filmed many beautiful things, but most of it stayed in our hearts.Almost everywhere we stopped, a cache was already waiting for us. Most of the caches are well maintained and easy to find. With mostly very nice weather, we saw a lot of this impressive island. In many places, caches were waiting for us, which were sometimes easy and sometimes difficult to find. This cache was also included and was successfully signedWe puzzled a lot in advance and the tours ?? were well prepared So this box was also well found.now I have another on my personal cache card.many thanks to [^] **XenaCommander and TechnoKitten** [^] for the effort and the cache and greetings from Germany ???? We are currently staying in National Park for a few days to do some walks and pick up caches, so today it was time for us to do the Tongariro Crossing again - last time was around 15 years ago!! A beautiful day for it, and hundreds of others decided to cross too! Due to the accurate hint we were able to quickly access this one and write on the logbook with only one couple passing us and they weren't really taking a lot of notice of us. TFTC
Walked from the ketetahi carpark to the cash in the afternoon. Lost of hikers passing past and couple were sitting on the bench. I sat down next to the cache so it was easy to get it secretly, tftc!
Today we hiked the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. Got up at 4 o'clock and started early today. On the fantastic hike we found not only great views also a few geocaches. Thanks for hiding.
Nicely hidden. Good to find something after a long walk... even if there is still plenty to go!
Walked the crossing on 16/11/13 and sadly had to log this one as a DNF.
Well today I had no problems finding the cache, went straight to it, and was happy to find the little baggie as per the hint. A xena special, a fun find.
Thanks for the hide happy to turn this into a smiley after nearly 9 years.
Loving walking the Tongariro crossing today, very few on the track. The majority walking to the Emerald lakes and turning back.

Another good one!
Easy to find, it was wet like the PF said, but it’s waterproof paper, so no issue to sign.
Thanks again!

Starting to feel the knees now but on the last stretch. The bush is a nice change of scenery. Tftc
This one needs some maintenance as the log was completely soaked and unable to sign
Nice easy find, as per hint, thank you so much, as after a day's hike, having all the details make the find easier. We enjoyed the bench for a stop as well. The container had some water and the logbook was wet. Someone added waterproof paper, but names were coming off it, as it was completely wet too. Nice stop through the forest, it gives a rhythm to our descent, which is quite long...
#901 easily found due to good hint. Not many muggles at all, which made it all the better. TFTC
Great spot to have a rest after 20km tramp (we did extra side trips ??)Thanks XenaCommander and TechnoKitten for all your cool cache hides! I must check where else you have hidden caches so I can plan another walk! TNLNSL TFTC ??
We are on a bit of a whirlwind tour of the lower North Island trying to complete the rua section of the PWGT.
We have a bit of a story with this cache as gk was heading off to find the new tour cache while I waited in the campervan as I am hobbling around on crutches.
After some time I received a phone call from gk asking what was going on. He prefers to use c:geo when he is caching and that has had some problems recently. It turns out that c:geo was not showing the new cache, just the older two that are in the area. So we figured out he was at this cache and had well and truly walked past the tour cache that he was heading for. So I gave him the GC code for the tour cache and he headed back down the track with the hoards of other people.
The log book is quite damp, and the write in the rain paper is wet but there is another log inside two plastic bags that is useable. He signed our name and returned it as he found it.
Thank you for placing this cache and of course thank you for the smiley

Found this on our final leg of the crossing. Didn't sign log as unfortunately it was soaked and my tired brain coluldn't think of putting my own paper in! Thanks for putting cache here and giving us an excuse to sit for a few minutes
After bagging the PWGT cache decided to stretch my legs to the next. Fun watching the weary walkers go down to the finish. My turn to head down now.
#324. We wanted to find more caches on our way through Tongatito Alpine but the views and georgeus day took all our attention. so this was the very first one. Tftc
Finally made it to Tongariro to complete the crossing, got a few geocaches along the way but not as many as I would have liked to be got a few for my D/T grid.
Thanks for the placement and maintenance of the caches

Team SEAC had decided a few months ago to attempt the Tongariro Crossing. Not JUST because there were caches here but to get us all out and about.
We all trained doing various longer and longer (read more and more caches) walks building up to this day.
Now the long windy walk down...... that end road just seems to take an AGE to get to.

Team SEAC is hiking the Tongariro Crossing today. A small group broke off to see if they could race to the pick up point and convince the shuttle driver to wait. Even though I started with the fast group, by this time, I was lagging behind. I needed a break anyways, so I stopped for this cache. I still made the shuttle, which was delayed a bit waiting for two passengers not in our group. TFTeC.
After months of planning and training walks the day finally arrived! A group of 14 from the Team SEAC crew turned up to knock this walk off. We had the perfect weather for it, lockdown had lifted in time and we were ok to travel so we were excited to see what was in store.
It was harder than I had anticipated so it took a little longer than we expected it would do but the main point is WE DID IT!!
By now we realised most of us were going to miss the shuttle (they only had 2 options on the day but when we booked there were 4 time slots with a couple of later ones that would have worked better for us) so whilst the fitter of the group went on ahead with a plan to get back home on the shuttle and bring cars back for us we could take our time and 'enjoy' the walk (through the pain and discomfort). Stopped for some more food here but no tea although one of the crew had brought camping items to make a hot coffee (had this at the end instead)!
Thanks for the cache.

In town with my good friends from Team Seac to do the Tongariro Crossing. For most of us this was the first time doing the crossing. Really enjoyed the walk and want to do it again. Sorry for generic logs. Log was signed "Team Seac" or "Seac" to save room on the logs.
Today was the day a team of caches from Auckland were here to conquer the mountain trail known as Tongariro crossing.
Many training tramps and adventures had been done and dusted in order to gain the required fitness and test gear needed to make the trip enjoyable.....and enjoyable it was....amazing scenery, a great group of people, and perfect weather...... eleventh along the trail.
Arrived by shuttle, took photo's, then off we trudged.....

Members of Team SEAC had been doing various walks with the goal of doing the Tongariro Crossing. Mr. HeMaLuDy and Purply travelled down to National Park to join the other 12 members of our group, some who are muggles but all are aware of our caching habit. Today was the day. Some of the group had gone ahead to catch the shuttle and organize cars to come back and pick the rest of us up. The aches and pains had kicked in by now. A welcome reason to stop and chat with other walkers. This provided the distraction for one of our little group to make the find. Today was a day filled with amazing sights and great experiences. Unfortunately Mrs. HeMaLuDy and Darthcacher1 were unable to attempt the walk today. They intend to make the crossing at a later date. Log signed Team SEAC to save space. TFTC.
Finally some shade and a bit of a rest stop. Easy find here, allowed some faster walkers to pass. Added RITR paper as well. TFTC XenaCommander.
Day 5 of a trip around the bottom half of the North Island, and today it’s the Tongariro Crossing. We left early and got dropped off at the start by 6.30am. Got underway on a day that turned out to be a stunner. Sun all day, little wind, comfortable 15 degrees or so at the top. We took some great photos and enjoyed some stunning scenery. Found all traditional caches along the route as well. Picked up at 2.30pm at the other end, then back to our digs in Owhango, where we found a small handful of others, just for the hang of it.

Avenging a dnf on a late afternoon. Missed this one when doing the crossing, but it was a quick find this time. I must have even touched it last time!! The funniest thing was the look on people's faces, walking out after a long day, seeing me walking in. Some of them looked like they wanted to remember my face in case it comes up on the news!! TFTC!!
Found while spending several days in the Turangi area with the Hutt Valley Tramping Club including livingk and gpetone walking and cycling some of the local trails. TFTC
Found with gpetone and PatandJohn during a day walk up to Ketetahi. Brilliant day. Cache damp inside. Dried somewhat in the sun before we left. New log and bag provided by gpetone. TFTC
On the home stretch of the TAC and just a couple of caches to go. Was glad for some shade in the bush in this part as it was such a hot afternoon. Amazing day and another smiley for the trail. TFTC!
Found on wonderful day in summer, thank you for maintaining these amazing caches

Easy find on this one too, but it has seen better days, the container and contents were saturated. Unable to write anything, so took this photo with our caching gear. TFTC
I finally managed to hike the Tongariro Alpine Crossing after years of wanting to do it. The trail was very busy with muggles but as I had been super slow walking most of them had passed me at this point so I could find the cache pretty quickly, TFTC!
A 5.30 am start from camp in the bush some where ?? the aim for today is about 20 km ready for the tongariro crossing tomorrow.
We have been pounding out the km on the Te Araroa. A 44 km

We had a great hike and a lot of fun. Greetings from Germany. As a fan of the Lord of Rings a must have seen area! A good place here for a short break.
