Couldn't find the container. The area around GZ appears to have had a significant trim by gardeners/volunteers, thus exposing the cache for anyone that took a little wander off track. I think I'll archive the cache to free the area up for someone else. Cheers Gav
It is thanks to Skiveoff that I don't feel so bad. Should've read the logs before I started. I'm sure that this has been got at. Have been back twice and the ground was well trampled. (It is more so now!) But no cigar. Enjoyed looking through the Sister Cities thing though.
The cache appear to have been muggled. I was walking the dog in the Quarry and found the cache sitting on a park bench about 200 m away from its correct location. I have put it back (as best I could remember the correct location - about 2m SE of flat Halswell stone, under vegetation at the base of a small tree). It looked largely intact but I would suggest that a change of location as its security must now be questionable.
Noticed the whole sister city thing going on last time I was here (last term) when I grabbed one of the traditionals in this park. Thought they would be worth a revisit to the area. Wasn't till I got home that I realised there was a cache set up around them. So today we started of with the one I saw last time and wandered from there seeing which ones we could find as I hadn't got around to adding the way points to the gpsr. Found three before running out of time, will be back soon to finish it off. Left to try and get WoF but was enjoying all the information to much, guess I'll have to get it tomorrow, ops.
Another cache find I neglected to log from 2008, only just noticed as I was listing caches that StreetWalkerNZ had found but I hadn't. Very late log but better late than never. Halswell Quarry has been visited on numerous occasions since, usually on a caching mission. TFTC.
#173. Found with Troodles. A day for the Halswell quarry caches. Ended up with a long walk from our last waypoint (as order of doing waypoints was influenced by other caches). Found pretty quickly.
Finally found it, first time round we thought we could "fudge the final" without the Adelaide clue because the kids were getting grumpy but couldn't find it. Came back and got the clue and the cache was soon in hand!! TFTC TNLN
While we were walking around the waypoints spotted an elderly Gent being push around in a wheel chair by two enthusiastic ladies (not the easiest of tasks), but it wasn’t that so much that caught our eye it was the GPS unit in his hand. It turn out that the ladies are new to Geocaching one still to purchase a GPSr. One of them had been here with “KiwiLegend†and a scout group a few days before and they had returned with their father to show him a geocache. Had a great chat and as the task of pushing the chair around was taken a bit long brought the cache over to them when we found it. The favour was returned when a cache in the park we had overlooked was mentioned (Had the Co-Ords as a Custom POI).
A very enjoyable cache in a great location; had been to this park a number of times before we started Geocaching and it was great to be back again.
Thanks.
PS. While trying to replace the cache while dodging people out walking dogs etc, a bloke said your "so and so", and I said yes; turns out he was a year ahead of me at school over thirty years ago in Dunedin, he has lived in Christchurch for many years and still recognised me, I wish I could have said the same, as I have said before you never know what's in store when you go caching.

A bit confused how to start at first. Really nice park - i like the MTB track. Cheers - M@
Did not get this far with our scout groups on the 1st Jan, so it was all new. The quarry reserve is BIG isn't it. We walked the walk through all the sister cities and logged the log. Cool container. Left our traveling coffee coin that we were lucky enough to be reunited with and took a very coll Gedi coin. TFTC
I was nearby and enjoying my visit. I wished to learn more about the area and this cache proved quite valuable in that pursuit. It was very impressive that this was set up for and enjoyed by the scouts, who are much like young Jedi!
Before leaving, I left a gift behind for the next Jedi to be drawn to this place.

Elephant tracks is right, but no one would ever guess what they are all about so they shouldnt be a problem
Nice Multi.

Really interesting WPs and we liked looking at the different trees/plants in each section.
Seemed a great one to do in the evening with a couple of the young buckoboys' friends. Defence on Wheels also accompanied us. The boys always enjoy the clue hunts and this one was great as it is in a favourite biking, running, walking and family area the family often comes to.

Our second attempt all because of keying in one wrong number!! But thoroughly enjoyed the exercise & the whole set-up. Great views & plantings & facilities. Liked the novel container. Picked up geocoin.
An enjoyable walk, nice to be on the (mostly) flat ground. Like Grandalf we didn't do things the optimal way, but no worries. Like has been commented on, there are some giveaway signs that you've found the right area for the cache. Took coin.
A very pleasant multi - even enjoyable on a rather hot day. Waypoints were all easily located - although I walked much further than I would have done had I graphed the locations beforehand. Unfortunately, there are now serious elephant tracks into the final location. However, few people other than cachers will go there. Coords could be a little out, but no problem. No swaps, thanks and cheers from Grandalf(1056)
Hmm - did a bit of a bush bash up from below. Those are the most serious elephant tracks I have seen for a while. Coords were fine for me.
A very well-constructed and interesting multi. +coin - didn't see another one in there. Thanks.

a very simple multi, many thanks. Judging by all the scratching about in the vicinity the coords might be a bit out? +Geocoin CCTCTX - "Kapiti" scout badge
I didn't know there were so many sister cities. A nice little wander around visiting the waypoints. The coords were 8m out for me at the cache.

1872. This one took a bit more effort especially as it was getting very hot by this time and Stella - our 2 year old grand-daughter - was getting rather tired. We did some of the waypoints with her then took her for a short ride to give her a sleep. We then took turns gathering the information and gathering the cache.
This cache would have certainly kept the scouts busy and used up lots of energy!
Thanks

Nice cache and a good walk. It took a bit of searching but my son found it in the end!
I had a pleasant wander around the park getting the clues and getting inspected by many dogs with a stop off to get A Jamboree Puzzle. Another good intro to geocaching for Scouts and a bit of Sister City info for me. Not sure if it's a FTF, beaten by many Scouts in the preceding week and a couple of familiar names TNLN Thanks, I liked the cache container.
Likewise, can't claim a FTF - this one was more of an event cache for me. I was shepherding a group of scouts around here over two nights. I'd say we'll have a few converts. Well done Rediguana for all the hard work getting this organised!
Cheers,

Not FTF - but I did help a couple of scouting groups learn how to geocache with this one. It was a great exercise for them as each scout in the group got a go with the GPS due to the number of waypoints involved. TFTC.
