A rat has been nibbling at this one. Not sure how much longer it’s going to last out here in the elements. Glad to have found it though!
Another one of these archived caches as we are driving around the mountain finding caches for the hidden creatures sovenirs
Found this one today with help from Phronimos, after attempting to find an nearby cache (and failing). Still here, although the container a little broken
Amazed to find this cache STILL in place. Easy find and signed moleskin log book, last signed in 2013
Geocache permanently archived by Geocaching HQ. Please direct questions to the Geocaching.com Help Center.
Quick find while in the area. Thanks for the cache.

After spending Christmas with family in Wellington, we made our way slowly North again, exploring Wanganui and Taranaki along with collecting a few caches along the way. Quick find after fighting our way over the flowers. Logbook was just lying loose, there did not appear to be a container for it.
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.

Previously found before I add an account with my uncle Tremichlan and Dad (Manaia)
Found within a few minutes. Oddly enough a couple of days after finding this cache I got chatting to a man who went to this school. TFTC
Like other recent finders I found the cache container to be in a sad state of affairs. The container was broken with the lid off and the log damp. A quick find. SL.

An easy find, but cache is in a pretty sad state as the pot is broken and missing its lid. Signed log.
Thanks for letting me know. I will replace the cache (again) this weekend. Cheers Ladybug.
Please replace container as I will be unable to for at least 6 weeks. The previous glass container lasted until December 30 2013. I am going to archive this one if people aren't more careful.
Hey just came here to test out a new gps and found this cache smashed with log page on the ground by itself in a bag, still dry still there just needing a new container! thanks
Found with geo daughter on afternoon GC hunt. Cache container is cracked and not water tight. Thanks.
Everything (logbook jar treasure) Is soaked. I left an emergency logbook in a new zip lock bag.
Thanks for your observation, but for clarity can I note two things.
1. I have relocated from Taranaki to Wellington and my brother Manaia is currently not well enough to maintain the cache.
2. The present container was put in place by a benevolent cacher after the previous was muggled. Until I get there at Xmas time, that will be unfortunate but necessary state of affairs.
Cache placers do it to make cache-finders. A salutary, if unsubtle mild rejoinder to your very, very mild vituperative. I share your current annoyance with the situation, but as an interim solution, it pragmatic and potentialising. I would prefer not to archive the cache.
Thank you
T.

Found on our trip around Mt Taranaki from New Plymouth to Hawera and around the Surf Hwy 45.
Thanks for the hide and the worst container ever seen for a cache (you can do better than that mate!) but really a lovely spot. Especially when the students (some hens, a cock and two turkeys) came to welcome us on university campus! Thanks.

Glass jar + steel lid = contents soaked with rusty water, logbook a lump of paper mache. Container needs replacing.
Haha, loved the cryptic clue! Was a quick find, but before I could replace container, the local lines company turned up, parked beside the location and began inspecting all the nearby power lines! I had to walk down the road and spend 15mins at the cemetery waiting for them to leave before I could replace the cache! TFTC!
Found with Sonia26642 on our way back to Auckland with a slight detour.
Looked in the place which seemed most likely fo a quick park and grab.

Found on our very very round about trip to the snow, and then CANZ Manawatu and Taranaki...
Hahaha, nice University! A very very rural smell as we got out of the car! My brother said he would have a hard time getting adjusted to the smell if he went to school here! Lol.
An easy cache when we stood back before going in for it, and thought, now, where would I hide it?

First cache in the dark, got to put my varied array of torches to good use (well, one of them anyway). Clever clue, liked it very much.

Good cache to do in the dark! First night cache, excellent clue - numbers had us stumped for a moment but then became rather obvious at GZ. Rp252 was a bit confused about the "polenski" which was worth a chuckle....... TFTC
Completed a few caches in the area today, nice and easy.
Thanks for setting this up.
Nice clue!

2nd NZ Cache. Nice to know no snakes in the Aggies.. Think new container could be in order as seal seems to be a bit old and logs slightly damp. Dried a bit and put "to go" coffee cup over the top. TFTC

Thank goodness for Mr D's warped sense of logic that got the clue straight away. Another quick cache on our epic drive around the Naki! Enjoyed it so much we don't want to go home. TFTC
Stopped here on the way south this morning. Realised the meaning of the hint immediately but didn't need it, the GPSr led me straight to the cache with excellent accuracy. Sad to see the fate of the old school, have seen lots of those around NZ in recent times. Signed log, TFTC.
one of the caches on a round the mountain caching trip, very clever hint when we worked it out. TFTC
Great sunny day to be out. We sat a while in the car thinking about the hint. Then ligi had the idea and I just went there and all I had to so was go and grab it

Glad to finally knock this one off, I could find it the last time I passed by. Cheers Gav [8236]
nice find - sorry - late in logging due to travelling and lack of internet and time
Yes it is because the cache is on public reserve and does not requirew cachers to enter the old school property, which is now in private hands.
2. My name is Sam, I am 8 and I am learning to geocache with my uncle, Tremichlan. TFTC
... our coords were 30m (!) off ...
Thanks for this cache and for bringing us here .

GPS seemed to be pointing a bit of a distance away but managed to understand the clue right away and had the cache in hand.
#721 Round day trip from NP thru Hawera back to NP with The Rambling Duo, what a laugh at this one, a whole flock of chickens popped out to see us, one naughty chicken decided to play chicken with the passing vehicles, thank goodness, no chicken dinner for tonight and we quickly shooed them back in the gate and departed before any major accident occurred. SL. TFTC.
We turned up at the main gate and after a long time looking no cache turned up. Geoson tried to get onto the internet but no luck there due to weak/spotty signal. Was about to give up when Mrs bjtrekker solved the cryptic clue and the cache turned up shortly after. A rewarding find because of the minor challenge. TFTC.
I decrypted the clue on route to the cache location and started walking towards where it thought the treasure would be. I then realised my GPSr was telling me to go elsewhere. After a quick search to determine I was not going to find a small container, I resorted to Plan A and found the cache immediately.
forgot to take the clue, so tried finding it without- that was never going to happen!, so texted home & realised how far out the co-ordinates are. Found easily once we had the co-ordinates from an earlier log.

thanks for bringing me here, interesting spot, coordinates indeed a bit of.. tnln

As european cachers we had no problem with the hint. The coordinates seems to be some meters off.
Thank you for the cache and greetings from Germany, kesteri

Luckily read cache notes and found reference to wayward GZ. Only worked out full meaning of cryptic clue when I was writing up my own cache notes TNLN TFTC
The coords were way out for this. Hint was a little more use than the GPS (which could have been left in the car). Cheers Gav
Nice quick find - well pretty much!
