We were docked in Port Arthur Tasmania Australia for the day on our ship - Holland America's Volendam. We had a shore excursion in the morning and then free time in the afternoon. So, we planned to do caching in both places. We found 7 by the end of the day.Thank you to the COs for their efforts.#####################This Cache: What can we say about this cache, other than "WHAT AN ADVENTURE"!!!From the other similar cache around the bay - Stewart's Handle - by the same CO, we continued along Stewarts Bay Track about another 1.25 miles until the track ended. We were still 1/4-mile from GZ and had come so far already, that we decided to continue as a bushwhack venture. What an adventure it was. For most of the rest, it was over, around, under, and through, with the remnants of a trail only showing up a few times. We got to 200' from GZ and Salts "called it" but Marbles continued to slog onward. He finally got to the GZ area and there were so many places to search; however, the Hint was a "Game Saver". He had the cache in hand quickly and also Dropped Off a TB there. Now for the real adventure Part 2 - Getting back to civilization. It was very difficult without a trail for quite a while - so much climbing over and ducking under and trying not to injure an ankle walking on the rocks that were hidden in the tall grass; however, having the "Track Back" feature on our Oregon saved the day. We were able to "sort of" parallel through the woods, until we met our bushwhacking path in and then it was back to the real trail and the real road beyond. We are giving this cache a BIG FAV for two reasons: The adventure and it is the last day we need to fill in our 366-day grid February 29th.
Tftc. Managed to get our here with no bush bashing. A few tricky bits were trees were down and not making Path obvious. Beautiful spot. Did the 3 Capes Walk recently and nice to look over at Day 1 and parts of Day 2.Thanks for getting me out to this point.
This was a bit tricky as the location of it wasnt exactly clear but it was enjoyable
I am visiting Port Arthur to site see, and collect a few caches in the process.Having stayed at the "Port Arthur Holiday Park" (on Gardens Point), I definitely had to get this cache.Yet getting the cache proved more difficult than expected. The path to the cache (from the Holiday Park) started off as clearly defined, but then quickly disappeared form the overgrown foliage. I lost the path a couple of times and needed to zig-zag back to find it again. But as well as losing the path, there were nasty spiky trees and bushes that speared me in the legs, body and face. But anyway, I preserved and (with the hint) was able to find the cache.
CO's statement that the trail is "a bit tricky to follow in places" is the understatement of the century. Once you get past the caravan park/campground this is basically pure bush-bashing so please everyone be prepared. I ended up doing as most do and following the rocks for the most part.Mind you, considering that the cache has been there for 15 years it doesn't surprise me that the bush has grown up a bit in the interim. The cache itself didn't take too long to find once I was in the right spot and there were some gorgeous views. Plus I made friends with an echidna who was too busy stuffing his face with ants to really notice me.TNLN SL TFTC.
#012. Drove down to Tassie for a nice 3 week trip away, including the Three Capes Track which was sensational!Staying at the NRMA Holiday Park made getting to the track easy, alas I followed in the footsteps of many others and exited onto the rocks too soon. A bit of seaside twister never hurt anyone though - I'd say it probably has - and I eventually made it to the right place and logged my first interstate find. Wonderful location to just sit and contemplate life
A few previous loggers had us wondering about this one, but a bit of careful navigating had us at GZ pretty soon. The hint is descriptive enough to get you just where you need to be. Everything in good dry condition. A long lived cache. Well done gorbak.
Caching around Tasmania. TFTC.
A nice hike through the wet scrub. Lost the track a few times but was soon back on it. Track took me to within 30m of GZ. Nice.

By far the hardest cache I have done, I took the wrong way in and bashed through the bush but was determined to find it. Take the track to the left of the big stump. Some kind person has put little stone piles to lead you out the way I should have gone in. Beautiful spot TFTC
Well that was an interesting adventure. Hahahah. Like the recent posts our path wasn’t a direct one to the cache. Track was overgrown and trees down making it a little harder than we thought to get to GZ. A little bush bashing and rock climbing led us close then it was up to some sure footed climbing to get us closer. Headed up down across and back again to make sure we were in the right area, read some older posts and then just hunted. Definitely looked for the larger white rock and then Hooray I had my hands on the cache. Bush bashed back to the track, lost my sunnies on the way, so keep an eye out for a trendy looking echidna… lol. On the whole great area, very pretty scenery. Tftc
Well I made that a lot harder than expected!
I set off from the holiday park where we are staying and used the lovely path. I should have read the description before I left as when the path dropped off to the right I thought it was too rough and went left. You can just see that little nodule in my walk path attached.
Using a lovely track still I kept going. Mistake number two was not checking the compass so when I popped out of the bush via a very steep slide and bush bash down a hill I was about 200 odd metres away. Straight line back over the hill
So I went around on the rocks. After nearly slipping a couple of times I reached an area where I had to go back up. That was hard work but I kept checking the compass and started heading towards the general area.
I finally arrived at ground zero coming in from above. I stopped to catch my breath and try and work out where the cache was. Well that was directly y der the rock I was standing on.
At this point I was a little unsure how I was going to get home again. I soon spotted what I thought was the path, but it started to fade away as well. I decided to generally head towards the holiday park just using google maps. Soon I came across the path is used to get in and was able to head home.
So my leisurely 30 minute stroll turned into a terrain 4.5 adventure for me. My wife at home just shook her head at me.
So, thanks for the adventure and the cache
Cheers

We took the adventurers route alone the rocks, found it as you said behind the massive cuboid… great cache !
My last cache for the Tasman Peninsula. A dash from the holiday park as it was getting late.
Lost the path a little in one or two places, but refound it. Was about to give up as time was getting on but had one last look and there it was.

No good for me today. A few wrong turns and not wanting to bush bash we gave up 70 metres away after finding a cliff top
Okay, gorbak, I will concede that I quite enjoyed this cache: a stroll in the bush with a bit of a navigational challenge (the track is definitely difficult to discern on the way to GZ, but easier on the way back), a lovely view at the end with some late afternoon sun on the coast, the non-routine terrain to give me an extra little workout at the end of the day, and a place I hadn't visited before. All of these things are good things. BUT, I'm nursing a badly bruised shin (fallen tree with a protruding branch at the side of the track), a bruised arm (a tree reached out and punched me), and I ripped my favourite red shirt and scored a decent-sized shallow scratch on my back (failed to duck far enough under an overarching tree), so I'm also feeling a little sorry for myself. Also, I wasn't totally convinced by the geometrical description in the hint! I did, however, find the cache eventually, and so I got a smiley. Thanks for the cache ... I think!
This was a classic case of finding anything but the track to get to the cache, but (thankfully) the return journey was fine! It took us ages to get to GZ following many side tracks that led to either thick bush or cliffs. Eventually we decided to just head in a straight line regardless of the terrain, and after a tough bush bash we made it! We didn't spot the very overgrown track until we got to the rocks, and even that was hard to follow on the way back. An enjoyable adventure and a beautiful spot. TFTC!

Oh man, I was on a school trip staying at nearby accom. Thought I could take a few mins to make journey. Did not make it, ‘ran out of time’ to make it back for our school bus departing. I was so close.
Path is far from obvious and existent with all the fallen trees.
I hate missing a cache when I’m so close.

Well I would say we walked nearly double what we should have to get to GZ! SSR parked near the boom gate and we wandered in like we owned the place, admiring some of the cabins and safari tents as we passed until we reached the track.
We followed little rock cairns but somehow took a track that led too far south and ultimately too a cliff. Backtracking we found another path then end in similar fashion but SSR went bush and soon found the correct track that led us safely to sea level. We spotted GZ fairly quickly but it was a slippery path across the rocks.
Heading back, we could see where/how we missed the path as it ducked around through scrub behind a fallen tree. I was soaked in sweat by the time we got back but glad to tick this one one.
Thanks gorbak

We had a great day today being out for 10 hours caching cleaning up the Peninsula, to be fair I think we have a couple more to pull in but you cant fit everything into one trip now can you, will just have to come back another time. This was an utter pig to get to, we parked at the boom gates and walked to the parking coords and after that we followed the path that soon dispersed and as we followed cairns we ended up going to far right(South) and were stopped by a cliff after a bit of backtracking and bush bashing we found the correct track which we used on the way out and could see where we went wrong.
When it looks like the track goes right go left between the two trees (Pic attched) and then at the two fallen trees (Big fallen right little fallen left) go LEFT (i know it doesnt look like a path but its just 2-3 meters away)
Anyway upon arriving at the goal we were both very pleased with what we found and this made it all worth while, I love caches like this where you have to work for it, thats again for the cache.
This week it was just myself and the goose heading out to find some caches down the Tasman Peninsula, some that had come out since we were down that way last and some that had been on the wish list for many years if not decades, the weather was just about perfect and we even made it back home before dinner in our respective homes. After getting fuel I picked goose up at 8:26 and I dropped him off almost 10 hours later, a good day out caching in my book.
Thanks for the cache.

Down this way again due to grab these two Stewart's hides and more new ones, i made this cache 1st cab off the rank.
Parked at the suggested car park and took the short (for me anyway ) walk to GZ.
Along the beach sand first then up onto the walking trail. The walk to the cache was reasonably easy but became a bit confusing at the end some 150m from GZ as i found myself back tracking a few times but all was ok coz i eventually got to the spot with the fantastic view
The cache (in fine shape with dry contents) was found within 5 minutes and i was signing the log at 10:21 on TGIF 3 June 2022.
Re-hid the cache as found and made my way back. As i was walking back i noticed small piles of rocks along a trail that looked more pronounced, it was then i realized they serve a purpose... (i realize this now?! ha ha ) Look for these as they will direct you way more quickly to the GZ area and save time doing what i did lol
Thanks, gorbak, for the cache and for showing me this awesome location. I loved the walk to and from it [^]

DNF... got to the spot and found the hint but no luck. Maybe it was just a bit ambitious for my second cache ever
Thanks - did this one solo the rest of the family a bit weary. Dropping off something special I found in a cage on Bruny
I recommend wear trousers on the walk here. Great location and a really fun walk
Checking out the ghost tour at PA tonight
Thanks again

Greeted by a of dolphins, and having made a wrong turn to begin, we started hunting.
We nearly gave up and then turned around and had a Romancing The Stone moment with the cube!

The mini hike out to this cache was not quite the pleasant, gentle coastal stroll we thought it was going to be, especially when you throw in a bit of rain.
The view from the end across to the isle of the dead and beyond more than made up for it though

was going to grab this one via the camp ground as we did not want to walk the other point all the way round but it seems the camping ground is gated and we couldn't go in so we didn't attempt
After dinner I thought it would be nice to find one last geocache for the day. It was dark but not too cold or anything so I thought it would be a relatively easy walk there and back as it was only a few kilometres away.
Well...
The torch died fairly early on so I was limited to the torch on my phone. Still, it was an easy walk along the bush, beach, then to the end of the track marked on OpenStreetMaps. As it said the cache was only about 180m from there I decided to just walk straight to it as at that stage the vegetation was not that thick.
After the first 20 or so metres I quickly realised that it was not going to be a trivial stroll to GZ, when the bush reached about waist high and there was no track in sight, especially at night.
Approximately 80m away from the coordinates I realised that I was very close to the ocean. Noting that it was likely a steep drop down to the rocks below I withdrew slightly and curved around to eventually get to 15m away from the cache.
Again not being able to see my surroundings well I was uncertain how safe it would be to go seemingly directly down to GZ I almost gave up.
However, on the way uphill I noticed there was a clearly formed track. I followed it and quickly reached the coordinates and found the geocache with ease. SL at about 8 pm and was very grateful it was such a large and visible container.
The way back was a lot easier and I only got lost once or twice.
Deserves a favourite point for the adventure and location.
TFTC!! 18th find for the day.

Really nice track walk through the bush to get to the point. I had to rock hop the last 60-70 m around the shoreline as I missed a turn which takes you directly to the point. Took this track on the way back and was much easier as rocks were really slippery. After the walk, was glad that the cache wasn't an easy find. Had to revisit the clue but once I read it properly, the location jumped out at me. Lastly but definitely not least, magic place to sit and contemplate the world.
During our roadtrip through Tasmania I found this cache "Stewart's Serenity" from gorbak on 17 februari 2020 16:35. After a full day strawling at the historic Port Arthur site and finishing with the cache at the other side of the bay it was time for this one. We parked our Venturer RV on the camping and I walked the last 645 meters or so to the cache, due to the split level at the cache site it took me a while to find the cache itself, but it is possible to find this one straight away, my tip would be start low, stay low, but off course above high tide.
Groetjes/Greetings and TFTC from a Dutchman (a long way from home, but home is here the heart is, on the bus)

We got lost but in the end found the right path. Heaps of fun!!!! Lots of swaps.
This wasn't really on our list of caches for today, but after dinner we all went for a walk. The kids headed straight for the water and the rocks. I then noticed the Cache 900 meters away, so we started walking towards it. The wife smartly gave up. After 100 meters along the foreshore we gave up to and followed the next trail up onto solid land.
We then made our way to the suggested trail entrance. We debated which was the write path and after bush bashing for over 30 minutes, obviously we chose the wrong way.
The cache was quickly found by me at 9 pm before 999HK could find it and Son2 over shoot it. We then found the correct path and with it almost pitch black, it took about 5 minutes to get back to camp.
Thanks for the cache Gorbak

Fantastic start to 2020 what a terrific cache and wander. Parked at the beach and walked along the track it was a nice easy walk until we picked the wrong trail. We made it to the point ok but we had to go up down and around 130m of rocks to get to the cache. Once there of course we found the trail back. The cache itself was an easy find but it was a bit sad as there was only a broken TB in there. So we picked that up and will replace the chain. We dropped our new TB in Sam the Salmon who will start his journey around the world hopefully shortly. We also added some swag incl a bracelet and animals etc. No camping stuff gorbak apologies we haven't been for years. Can understand why you love this area it is glorious. We were also lucky enough to have a cruise ship dock right in front of the cache. Fav from us loved it
After spending the day wandering around the Port Arthur for the day, returned to the cabin at the cabin park, cooked tea and it rained pretty heavy. As I was washing up the sun started to come out, I excused my self from the family and headed of to find this one. When arrived at the GZ was having trouble locating it, rocks were slipery so I had to be careful. After some time I found a well hid container. All in good order. Left GZ at 8pm so made it a quick walk back before it got dark. Arrived back at the cabin wet though with a sore ankle from falling over. One adventure and a beautiful spot. Thanks for the hide
Beautiful place to visit.

Tftc a fairly long walk from Port Arthur's historic site. My feet are hot happy. Enjoyed the walk along the beach before hand in the cold waters. Found with divehelen and johnandollie.
Staying nearby while doing the three capes walking tour. Had to bush bashing a little bit to get in and out, cause I seemed not great at following the track today. I made it anyway.
It is really a amazing place. Loved sitting on the rock and just listening to the sea, enjoying the view. Thanks for sharing the spot and the cache!

Well, that was fun in the dark! Hi gorbak, thanks for the cache in such a nice spot. Do you get here often? Oh, perhaps by the listing comment I shouldn't have asked you that; but at least I didn't call you OldSaint. I also won't mention idyllic (yet) as I arrived in the dark!
I had to drop off geoSonE at White Beach for a scout camp this evening, so decided to stay nearby for the weekend to do some caching.
Left my cabin accommodation and took a nice night stroll to GZ, most I wandered off the 'track' was a only a few metres, mostly on the return. Handy following your own trail on the GPSr.
So, thanks to AlbyDangles as I'm still using his old Garmin; and also thanks as he replaced the container at GZ.
Seriously, thanks for the adventure gorbak, and for placing the cache here for others to enjoy this spot.
Cheers

We probably didn’t choose the best day to do a 3T cache but we had just arrived at the caravan park and wanted to stretch our legs so off we went. The trailhead was easy to find but we took a few wrong turns on our way to GZ.
Once there, a shower of rain blew down on us so we sheltered under a small tree as we watched tiny bits of frozen rain bounce off the rocks.
Fortunately it blew over quickly and using the hint we made a quick find then followed the snail trail back to
the warmth of the caravan.

Thanks for the cache Gorbak. Out and about with RLD4963 and the GeoGSP for a few days on the Tasman Peninsula. We parked near the beach and the GeoGSP had a lovely run around with three local dogs along the beach. At the end of the beach the GeoGSP was back on his lead as we headed along the walking track to GZ. The track got a little bit sketchy as we approached the point so it was a case of picking the 'most worn' track and keeping our eyes open for alternative paths but we progressed steadily and soon made it to GZ. Great views over the bay. A nice quick find thanks to a great hint. Also thanks to Alby Dangles for recently replacing the cache - would have hated to see this one archived, a great spot. A favourite from me.
On our Tour through Tassie we made a stop to find the caches.
Here we went first the wrong way and we recognise this late, so we turned and than we can find the right way. It was a longer walk but a nice cache.
Thank you and greetings from Germany send Moorhelmi

Hello gorbak thank you for the cache.
The cache is back in place as per the hint.
Before I replaced it I had a good look around but couldn't find it.
Thanks for letting me replace it for you and bringing me to such a lovely location.

Disappointed not to find with such a descriptive hint. Spent a good 20mins at GZ with no luck. Still had a ball, will place on watch list and return another day
No joy today. Got here ok, with the Trails view matching a discernible track, which was even easier to follow on the way back. Found a very large white cuboid rock. But couldn’t find the cache - I saw a few handy nooks where a cache could be slotted, but none with a cache in them. Maybe tomorrow
What a great spot...treking to port Arthur acouple days..got this one in....tftc
One of the top caches we found during our two weeks in Tassie. Talk about making us work for our “cache!” Love it! The oath was hard to deceiver in several places but as long as you follow the compass, it leads you right to the cache. Hints were spot on as well. Left a bunny from Japan.
I loved the walk following CO’s waypoint and description. The view at the end of the track was wonderful, too. Having spotted where I believe GZ is, I made several different approaches, but being the sole searcher and not a confident scrambler, I reluctantly decided to go no further. Thanks for the journey
This is quite a hard cache! Quite a trek through the Bush, and then a bit of jumping around on rocks! I only took one trackable, as I left one for the next finder. The Canadian trackable seems to be missing.

We walked the Three Capes track over Xmas and stayed the night afterwards at the campground. Enjoyed my walk to GZ. TFTC
‘An Obvious Pile of Rocks’! Well that wasn’t funny. I was looking for something a little more subtle. After I had climbed too high I read the hint which made it much easier. Left a PT for the next adventurous cacher. TFTC
Not so easy to get to here. Extremely over grown hard to follow a path that is disappearing amongst the undergrowth! Shame it isn't more maintained than by the odd geocacher rambling through as it is a great viewpoint! Struggled to find at first despite the fact I must have looked straight at it but managed to locate more accurately when looking at pics from previous logs. Saw the white cuboid rock but misjudged as to which angle I needed to look behind it lol I saw Potoroos and a Pademelon on the walk back but I shoulder to think what I wasn't seeing definitely large potential for snakes and spiders in this area and with no option but to brush up against every tree and every bush wouldn't be surprised if one would happen to make it on to you :/
Oh also definitely no TB wouldn't have gone all this way had I known it wasn't in there, second time in the last few days I have found a cache that says theres a TB is in it but no where to be seen. Annoying but never mind. Not the fault of the cache owner though just the person who took it with out logging it!
Took some time to find and we also got wet trousers from the damp sags.

Over recent years we have taken to staying overnight at Tasman Peninsula as it gives more time for walks and allows stopping for geocaches. On the drive down we went to the Tessellated pavement for the first time in very many years then via Premaydena to Port Arthur passing a number of caches on the route. We walked to Cape Raoul on the partly finished new track and to Denmans Cove, which just happens to have a cache too.

I had seven great days in Tasmania. Beside of enjoying the beautifull countryside I also made some geocaching and found a lot of great spots out there. This was one of it.
Thanks to gorbak for hiding and maintaining this geocaches.

Walked from our camp at the caravan park, lost track a couple of times, then arrived at GZ.
Lots of rocks! After climbing, crawling, and poking into many spaces without any result, reluctantly, finally gave up.

Took me a couple of minutes to locate. Found on a very lovely early morning walk. Tftc! We were staying in the nearby camp ground while on a 2 week RV holiday in Tasmania.
TFTC!
Enjoyed finding this cache on a walk from the Port Arthur Caravan Park. I really liked the hide and the walk.
Thanks again!

Cruised into the area today on the Golden Princess cruise ship. The tender took us from the ship and dropped us off at Port Arthur. Our mission today while we were on dry land was to find the three caches in the area. To find this cache was a bit of a hike from the other end of the bay. Finding a track in the direction we wanted to go then having to find the cache itself. It was an adventure with a win at the end. Picked up a TB, dropped off one and visited others. A favourite point for a great day out. TFTC
Had packed up the van and had fifteen minutes to checkout so thought, why not just dash up and get that nearby cache. Mistake number one was taking some muggle friends with us wearing only thongs. They had be escorted back to civilisation only halfway there. Then back on the trail and feels my glad of the life my pants and enclosed shoes we had on. The things got narrower, rocks and water quite steep on one side and then a small snake crossed our path with still 50 m to go. No first aid gear and well after checkout time now, so decided to give it a miss. Lovely walk none the less.
Little walk to find this cache but worth the time TFTC TNLN log dry little boat in bay
Found whilst staying at the caravan park.
Thank you for the cache gorbak.

Camping here, we felt we had to find this cache. Very nice view at the end of the walk. On the way, we saw what we thought at first was a snake, but then saw that it had little legs. Later on, we found we had saw a blue tongue lezard. Nice encounter! The cache was found quite easily and we left a TB in it. TFTC!
Awesome geocache. The walk was a little more intense than we expected so glad we found it!
Found this the other day whilst exploring the area. Beautiful spot! thanks for the cache
Lost the track a couple of times and for once was thankful for litterbugs as the trail of soft drink cans lead me back on the right path! Lovely spot just perfect for relaxing. Swapped fishing kit for ecowipe, as i noticed fishing is a big thing around here -just got to work out what is the best bait. Instructions for eco wipe on paper around it. Also dropped off canada travelbug.
Found during our two weeks trip in Tassie. Such a lovely island, some great places to visit. TFTC!
Nice walk with the views of the Isle of the dead. Recommend u don't walk to this cache in the rain or when the tide is high
Finally I had time while down this way to have a walk to this cache. And of course I took the hard way. But the reward was tremendously rewarding. What a view on this day. Perfect. TFTC

Our last cache in Tasmania and an excellent adventure for me and my son. We looked first on the 21st and had to turn back as it was getting dark and raining heavily and we seemed to have lost the path. Spotted a couple of Pademelons on the way so not a complete loss. On the way back we noticed we had not taken the forest path marked with little piles of stones. We returned the next day taking the path marked with stones and with a little concern about the local snakes made it to garden point. After about 20mins my son located the cache and we signed the log, taking a mini yellow slinki to put in our next find. Since it was dry we returned via the coast avoiding any reptile encounters on the way home. Thank you for a brilliant cache that now has my son hooked on GCing as much as me.
