Id saved this as my last cache for the day but when I read the page saying it wasnt available outside business hours I wasnt hopeful of a find as it was already after 5pm. I followed the arrow anyway and didnt find any obstruction to entering from the Luas station... WOW!!!
Stepping through the portal arch to the parade ground was amazing. I was completely alone and sheer size and grandeur of what was designed as a functional rather then architectural exercise struck me as nothing less then spectacular. So incredibly awesome just to wander across to the middle and turn around. A man who was obviously a security guard appeared and as soon as I opened my mouth as being obviously a tourist we had a quick friendly chat. He told me I was free to wander and take some photos but the gates would be locked in about 10 minutes. Luckily he didnt hang around and headed off in the opposite direction I needed to go, so I made for the exit... which was conveniently in the same direction as the cache A quick grab and sign and away I went. Will have to come back for a proper look at the museum on my next day off. Looks pretty cool!. Cheers from Australia.

GPG would have been first to reach this cache had Chris not cut him up with the wheelchair - not literally I hasten to add (though only because Jim had the sense to keep his distance). Our weekend in Dublin is almost at an end, so a visit to the museum was not on the cards for today. Looks like it would need many hours to do it justice. We did pop into the shop though and bought an umbrella as a memento of our visit. It has a useful metal end to help poke around for caches. The cache was in full view, but blends in well and would not be noticed unless looking for it. SL. TFTC.
Another find as part of Team 50 on our weekend trip to Dublin to celebrate Sadexploration's 50th birthday. We have enjoyed exploring Dublin by cache location. Thanks for bringing us here.
