This cache appears to have gone missing. I have disabled it until I can get there to check it out.
I was going to head out to this one today but then I saw the last three logs were DNFs. As it takes a bit of effort to get there, I would like to know that the cache is in position before I go. Would the CO please do a cache check and report back on its status. Many thanks.
We went by the bush track and did a lot of prodding and poking but did not find it. Looked as if someone had moved it
We are visiting Dangar Island again and took our TB tour to the cache for a visit.
Walked along the road and spotted another group in the bush in the general area, so waited for them to finish. In retrospect we should have taken more note of Gatherer Hade's cave comments. Thought there could have been more goodies in the box, so just left 'lost' without removing anything.

Good hidden spot and a bit of a view from there. M's first geocache find. Nice work
#1958 (1 of 2 today)
Today's date with the Geowife was to Dangar Island - her suggestion, no complaints from me. We drove to the ferry wharf and had perfectly timed our arrival (yes I'd checked the timetable) so we stepped straight on board for the 10 minute trip.
We decided to do a full walk around before enjoying a late lunch at the cafe. All went as planned, and we finished lunch after our walk about 10 minutes before the return ferry arrived.
Some great views from the road and the beach.
Finally left the area at 4pm for the drive home - via visiting my mother.
Oh yes, the find...
Arrived near GZ and looked for the best way to the cache. Spotted a track and took it to the cave with remnants of aboriginal habitation. The Geowife and I looked at that from a respectful distance before I continued towards the iPhone's indicated spot and she returned to the road.
A little too-ing and fro-ing as I checked a number of possible spots. Finally spotted a likely hidey hole a bit of a distance away. Yep - that looks like camo. CIH!
Completed signing duties.
Dropped off the Affirmed geocoin and picked up the 5 racing pigeons travel arround TB.
Then back to the road - where has my better half gone? Aah, in the direction of the Yarn Bombing.

Bit of a hike up hill to a spectacular spot on the Hawkesbury. Left the pidgeons to sezza to roost
Dropped off TB '5 pigeons racing around'. Great hide! We were looking to low. Gps was jumping around a bit.
7121 Found on a day out with the geomum. We caught the ferry across and had a pleasent walk to gz. Once there I muust of changed my dashboard accidently. I ended up using the phone to find this one. later i worked out that I changed the dest to next to elevation on my dashboard TFTC
Found 3:37 pm. We had started the day on a group cache hunt via kayaking, earlier we had left Doc Who back at an inlet waiting for three others in our party he suggested we paddle onto Dangar Island as he had already done the cache there. It was also our lunch stop. So MummaKel, Barefoot Jeff, K1ngWizzzard and I paddled over to Dangar. It was here that K1ngWizzzard decided to not continue and leave us. So Barefoot Jeff, MummaKel and I then visited the cafe after storing our Kayaks.
Once drinks and a little food had been consumed we discussed the way forward to walk or take the island transport to the cache. Earlier I had found out the cost was $5.50 per person but could be negotiable to take a ride in the large 6 seater golf buggy. But as it turned out we got impatient and decided to walk anyway. When we arrived at GZ the GPS coords turned out to be out by about 14m and the hint was essential. Barefoot Jeff headed to what the hint referred to whilst I checked the GPS coords location to be sure. Barefoot Jeff then called out he had it so I joined him and MummaKel shortly later. The log was signed and cache replaced as found.
Thanks for the cache.
We started to return to the kayaks when we came across Doc Who, and we then checked out the medieval water tower before going back to the kayaks. At this point due to the time we pretty much decided to call it a day and paddle back to where we had launched.

Started out the day paddling around the Hawkesbury on the Booty/Cache run with a group of 8 (7 kayaks), but one by one the group became less, and by the time we arrived here in the afternoon, our 'party' was down to 3... after some refreshments and a short break at the cafe, Mr Damage, Barefoot Jeff and I headed toward our final cache for the day - we had discussed the possibility of a lift to our little red dot with the golf-cart guy, but he was off ferrying some tourists when we were ready to go, so we set off up the road on foot.... I'd never taken the opportunity to visit the island before, so I quite enjoyed the lovely stroll along the road and up the hill. My GPS seemed to tell me I still had further to go when Mr a damage and Barefoot Jeff disappeared into the bush - I went a little further before entering from a different spot and working my way up in a different direction to how they had travelled - I popped my head above a rock and spied them, and realised they had the Cache in Hand. Once our attendance was duly signed we headed back to the roadside, passing by the Site of Aboriginal Significance, before wandering back down to the river via the road, where we met up with the waiting Doc-Who, before our final paddle back to our starting point. A great cache to end a great day - thanks for giving me an excuse to finally see Dangar Island from the Island cajama.
As part of the Booty Run kayak adventure, Mumma Kel, Mr Damage and I headed over to Dangar Island after completing Hawkesbury Heights #7, Grimm's Hideaway and Take a Dive, relaxing in the tea house before walking around the island to the cache.
After scrambling up the hill I soon spotted the cache and the log was duly signed by all.
By the time we'd returned to our kayak's, DOC-WHO had arrived on the island and showed us some of the quirky architecture here. Then it was back in the water for the paddle up-river to Deerubbun, thankfully with the wind and tide at our backs.
Thanks for a good hide in a fascinating location.

It had been quite a while since I have been to the island! Had a bit of a think and realised that it was in my pre-caching days back in 2010. Before this date, the island was a site for family picnics and birthday parties. It became a very important place in my life. I guess less frequent picnics and more high terrain in my lifestyle meant a gradual shift away from Dangar and more towards new places. But this shift to higher terrains ended up bring me back here; by kayak!
Ever since I began, this has been on the to do list. This was only a couple of kms off my intended route for hiding a cache nearby today, so a must! Parked the boat at the beach and walked to GZ following a quick lunch. With multiple levels, finding GZ was a bit tricky, but the hide spotted instantly once in the correct level. TFTC!!!! For hiding a cache on a unique place full of childhood memories.

Found on a day out with the kids. I walked the whole way, but they got a lift for the last 100m or so from one of the residents in a buggy. The hint was really useful as the gps had me quite a few metres off. SL. TFTC.

Found on a lovely visit to dangar island. Very wet and slippery but persevered and made the find! Ty
TFTC TNLN. Awesome island. A fav.
Wow the clue was so cool. Walking on the road, knowing I was going to have to climb, I kept looking up and there it was! The broken hand tree. My geo partner didn't see it until I pointed it out, but it sure looks like a broken hand. We ate at the bowling club, pretty good pizza but the ferry ride home was COLD.

Actually found it yesterday after doing some work on what the locals know as thd Telstra block. Left a travel bug in there too. Just gotta work out how to tell the system where it's new home is.
Our hundredth find on a very special Mother's Day!!! Great cache with all the family including muggle Ryan, muggle Ellie, muggle Mason and muggle Tara. Great cache with a fantastic view. Thanks.
Paddled over from Brooklyn in our kayaks, leaving them nestled up on some oystery rocks where we found stairs up to the road and then an easy 120m walk to the cache. A very quick find, nice area. Interesting things to see on this little Island! Thanks cajama for bringing us here.
Bit stuck for something to do today with the snappers, so we headed to Brooklyn and over on the quaint ferry to Dangar. It's such a great spot. Wandered around the island and came to the Aboriginal cave with shells galore and smoke stained ceiling. Headed on up the hill and found the cache. Was a touch higher than I expected, but it's not a tricky find by any means. My 5 & 8 year old kids made the climb easily enough. Signed and continued our meanderings. Thanks cajama.
Found with Catch me if you can (CMIYC), on a morning canoe adventure on the Hawkesbury. Landed the canoe on the beach and got some useful advice on the local road network from one of the islanders.
Wandered off up the hill to the GZ. CMIYC found the cache nicely hidden. We both signed the log and returned the cache to its hiding pot. A snack on the beach before heading off to the next spot.

We love the Hawkesbury River and visit it every time we come to Australia. This was our 8th visit and this time we went on the ferry to Dangar Island with our daughter-in-law and her two little children, part of the Dino-Mites team. The children had a lovely time playing on the swings etc, then playing on the beach and finally looking for the cache. It took a bit of finding, but the geogirl spotted it, to her delight. A great day all round. tftc

This was a nice little island. The G.P.S. was off by about 10m and there where a lot of possible hiding spots. It appeared they where back buring while we where there but we made it off the island before the smoke became an issue.
A lovely island, and a lovely cache.
Found with brazelo on a fishing trip

Been spending some time on the island and decided to look for this one on a quiet afternoon. After much stomping around the bush I went with the clue and previous logs. The cache was soon in hand, but my GPS was still convinced it was 10.7m towards the road !!!

What an amazing climb. Even our three year old climbed up with us. What a beautiful island. Thanks for the find
Returning to Dangar from "W", the wind has picked up to no more than 5mph, what a perfect day!
Before beaching at Dangar, I scouted for a way upto Ricky Ponds cache called "Take a Dive". I arrived at the small inlet at low tide, and tried to approach the falls....what a mistake, the mud was 3ft thick, and oysters hidden amongst it, so to avoid some blood loss, I backed out of any further attempt today.
Now on the beach at Dangar, a 50m walk put me onto the main Ferry Wharf and I was off to find this cache...
Please note at this point there are bikes for hire and a shop, even a Bowling Club on the island. Roughly 700m later I had found the cache near one wicked tree.
All along the pathways I was constantly amused by sculptures, works, and even rubbish!?
Interesting place, that's for sure!
Oh, bumped into a resident just after finding a Castle Tower !, and questioned him about it...apparently it's a water tank, and is/was fed by Rocky Ponds !!!, how's that for some history !
Back into the kayak and I was packing up in just a few minutes - can't wait for my next adventure on the Hawkesbury.

The island was hosting a special Australia Day event, so I took the 3 geokids across for the day. After lunch and some time on the beach we went for a walk around the island, enjoying the sculptures that many residents had put outside their houses. At GZ we climbed up the hill, had a quick look into the cave and then continued up until we got to the right feature, where I spotted a geo-sign and soon had CIH. TNLNSL, then continued back to the festivities, with geogirl5 particularly eager to get her face painted. TFTC!
We headed out to cache today and found ourself catching a ferry across to Dangar Island.
We wandered up the hill following the arrow and we were soon joined by a very friendly dog being chased by a bush turkey.
Bush turkey disappeared and dog kept walking with us.
We soon found ourself heading off the track with the dog leading the way.
WE found something that looked like it would be a good place to hide the cache and what do you know the kids found it before I even had GZ
Dropped off TB

Bit worried about what else was sharing the hide but we found it and are relocating the geocoin Wanderkuchen.
Looked all around here under the power lines and couldn't find it. Still trying to find my first cache.
We did the Riverboat Postman cruise (which we highly recommend) and got dropped off at Dangar Island instead of Brooklyn. We wandered round the island looking at the houses and found the cache on our way round.
Dropped off geocoin which we brought from the UK.

This has been a pretty quiet caching month so far but I was working this morning about 300m from GZ. Wandered around the road and the cache was found after a short search. There was washing on the line of a nearby house but no muggles to be seen. Many thanks caiama.

Had a good look around here, but found nothing. Lots of small trees and branches have been cut down and are laying in piles on the ground.
We found it (myself and daddy long legs ). Was a bit of a climb, also some incentive to keep moving in the area. I paused to take a photo and had ants all over my feet in seconds.
Took the duck out in Apple Tree Bay of Kuringai National Park, heading to Bar Island in the Berowra Creek. Thought, this cache is a must. First approach from the south east, to the large beach - no good: sea grass area. So rowed in, however, saw all the mud at low tide and decided to go around the island first and do it on the way back. Then, we landed near the ferry jetty on the western beach. I ventured by myself onto the island, barefoot, just swimming cozzies, T-shirt and gps. Nice island; interesting life without cars. That's how I like it! Took maybe the wrong way, suddenly, eventually gps pointed me 0.1 nautical miles straight up the hill into virgin bush. OK, last bush fire was not too long ago, so what we do for geocaching. Still got pretty black hands and feet, but the only thing which worried me were potential of snakes and other beasts. Wow, great view! Took a few photos - thanks, mate, worth coming here. Down the descent on the other side and found GZ. Searched for a while, really crawled into the caves and everything. Finally, gave up, cause a bit in a hurry to make it back to Apple Tree Bay in daylight - don't have navigation lights (and don't wanna freeze).
Probably, I should better mark down the clues for such ventures. HOWEVER SOME CONCERN: The area has been cleared of bush and small trees - it may have been removed or covered - worth to check!

Found with the WiseFamily. An excellent day out. Fish & chips and a ferry ride. Fantastic! Great spot for the cache. Thank you.
It was so hot that we bypassed our intended reserve track and carvings, and took the short climb route. The GPS was just about useless near GZ so we tried the most likely place and there it was. A train trip, a ferry ride, lunch by the water and a cache - what more do you want? We'll be back for the postman's ferry trip. TN but left a TB, although it could be there for a while. Thanks to cajama for a great hide.
Found: We are staying on the island with a relative. She showed us where the easy approach was. There is a trail at top with aboriginal art carved into the rocks. It is a great island to explore and we feel privileged to be able to stay here.

Myself, Mrs Kwyjibo and the old girl took the ferry over for the monring for a leisurely stroll and of course some cache action. Much to my brothers disgust I have beaten him to this find. I noted that the last log was on the 2nd of february by a couple of muggles who had happened across the cache.Thankfully they left everything in order. I did my best to cover the cache a little more effectively than the way they had concealed it. We were pleased to see that the little cafe at the warf has reopened so we enjoyed a coffee as we waited for the ferry to return. Left a smiley magnet and grabbed a the TB to get it underway. We are headed to WA tomorrow which is in the wrong direction so I will pass it on to bodysteppingfreak to move it northward. TFTC
