Cemetery caches I find interesting so it was a pleasure to wander around while gathering the required information. The cache in good condition was a quick find.
Another parkrun geocaching expedition on a cold Saturday morning for us. Nice easy find in a lovely cemetery with some interesting history tftc
Overnight stay in Lancefield visiting family for a special birthday. Its a bonus when you can cache as well in these lovely towns. I was surprised at how big the cemetery is here and that lovely new brick fence. TFTC
A day out with the reluctant teenagers. Had to bribe the kids with hot chips and gravy but they ended up having a good day in the end. Found the religious elements of this cemetery fascinating! TFTC.
Thank you for the interesting history lesson, had a look at some of the grave-stones before picking up the cache.

Once again we were heading to Gisbourne today however I wanted to avoid the city roads at all costs so tracked via Yarra Glen, Glenburn, Flowerdale, Broadford etc. Once in Lancefield we realised we had plenty of time to get to Gisbourne so decided to look for the remaining cache we had yet to find in the area. The cemetery is well kept unlike the one at Carlsruhe we visited last time we were in the region and it was easy to zero in the the headstone at the nominated coordinates. Our first attempt was unsuccessful due to misinterpreting one number so after redoing the numbers again we were then able to quickly find the cache.

Last cache today in Lancefield. Enjoyed looking through the stories of people around the cemetery and gathered the clues easy.
Struggled a bit to locate the cache, but when found I knew exactly where it was and got immediately.
Coordinates are extremely accurate.

A trip to check out some of the awesome places in Victoria and grab some old caches. TFTC.
A nice offset multi. I didn't like my first GZ so after a correction I was at the right spot.

I really enjoy graveyard caches - so much history & fascinating graves. Last time I was here was attending a funeral Graeme was of Scottish descent and having met as CFA volunteers, we became very close. I spent quite some time here today simply reflecting on life........ & death. I have taken the trackable & will move it along it's journey. Many thanks & Happy St Andrews Day
Took us ages as we were so off with the co-ordinates but we got there with some much appreciated help. Probably would have never got there! TFTC
On my way to visit a friend and I thought I’d stop and take care of this cache
Firstly I found it very heartbreaking that the cemetery was locked. Some may say that I did the wrong thing by entering, I would argue that it’s wrong to lock a cemetery!
Was very excited to actually find the cache and had some good quality swaps ready to go, however there was nothing in the cache to swap with.
thanks for bringing me to this beautiful cemetery. Hopefully they unlock it one-day so others can enjoy it too.

A lovely cemetery, there were a number of people showing their respects, with a lovely offset multi, thank you for sharing.
Away for the weekend Thanks for this very interesting cache, most informative thanks for placing this cache
Traveling home from an astronomy weekend, so I took a different route from normal and picked up a few caches.
Interesting history of John's life and work.
And a nice walk through the cemetery looking at all the headstones.
A good sized hide for the location.
Thanks, Robmc.

After all that I double checked my numbers and turned out I accidentally put in one of the numbers wrong... once I had the right coord easy find
So glad I double checked 1 more time before I left. Lol

Found out caching with Wollaston on a slow meander north. Good to see the maintenance of the grounds kept up, the residents and visitors would be happy knowing they are so well cared for.

On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting & detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird or Angry Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC Keeper of Time

Love caches that bring me to a cemetery. Also know a few people interred here. Thank you for bringing me here and the story behind the Reverend. So many stories here, did a bit of a wander around, quiet at this time of day and thank you for the cache
Heading back south after a fantastic getaway in Swan Hill and Echuca we made our way in an unorthodox route to pick up unfounds along the way.
We wandered slowly through the cemetery reading the older headstones before finally collecting the numbers needed to complete this multi. Once we had done the simple maths we had a very logical GZ to aim for.
Thanks Keeper of Time for the interesting multi placement, we always enjoy these type.

With a secret caching trip alongside a famous SA cachet cancelled today, as I was packing my bags to go, I changed plans quickly and pointed the car out to the west of the state for a couple of days caching instead.
Second cache for the day. A nice easy multi that I can’t stuff up (unlike the last one). Coordinates gathered and cache found.

We are staying in Mt Macedon for the weekend to cache and to photograph Autumn trees! lol So we decided to visit a couple of towns further afield today for both reasons. This was the last cache for this town. It was very sad to see that John's wife died when she was 27! Co-ords calculated and cache found. off to take some photos!

I was entertaining the thought of attending the Ballarat event on today until yesterday but because I hadn't completed what I wanted to complete I decided against attendance. Instead, I took a trip up to Lancefield.
This was both my first trip to Lancefield as well as my first out of Melbourne post Lockdown 2.0. I must say it was welcome and needed. Why Lancefield in particular? Well, a destination near Melbourne but not of Melbourne and I needed a multi for today. Lancefield fit the bill on both counts and this particular cache must be close to falling within the oldest 500 in Victoria.
After having a read of the cache page (post finding and post trip) I'm even more pleased to have chosen this one.
Honouring someone so committed to serving others is itself a service in keeping alive the memory of the individual and their example.

Driving up to Heathcote for a camping trip for the weekend. Coming off the main road I certainly found an interesting road to arrive at the cemetery.. Arrived at GZ and began to search for the details required. Initially started logging the incorrect details but corrected my error and soon had coordinates. It wasn’t long before I had the cache in hand and log signed. This is a lovey maintained cemetery. thanks for the hide.
Thanks for the cache! We hadn’t been to the graveyard before. Was very interesting to see all the graves and talk with the kids about death.
Spot on gps co-ordinates. Thanks for the find and hope I don’t join the residents any time soon.
Keeper of Time has lots of nice hides scattered about this area. The remaining ones are slowly dwindling for me.
This was a nice easy one before venturing into Lancefield.

After a big week we were on our way home from St Arnaud to Melbourne airport and on to Hobart. With a late flight we planned an interesting route back and stopped for selected chosen caches along the way. With a lack of multis back home this was high on the list for today.
It was warm as we walked to WP1 to calculate GZ but it didn't take long to work out the finals. A quick find was made at GZ and we were on our way south again.
Thanks Keeper of Time
When planning the St Arnaud mega trip I was keen to incorporate some missing D/T’s from my grid. Stainless steel rat suggested flying to Adelaide ‘on the way’ and driving across so a route was planned and a fun week of caching began. I cherry picked in my planning so as not to run out of time for the ones I wanted, and we added a few on the day if there was time. We met up with various teams along the way including a planned rendezvous with Tassie Trekkers in Kaniva for a fun days caching. I ended up with around five hundred finds (including labs) for the week, and still had plenty of time for socializing along the way. It was great to catch up with some old friends and of course make new ones.
Special thanks to the St Arnaud mega committee for a great weekend.

This was our last day and thus a drive to Melb and then fly home but we just had to collect a few caches along the way didnt we!
We had selected a few interesting caches and added a few more as we had time before we had to get on the plane.
This was the Mega trip that started out as a simple trip to St Arnaud for just the Mega and turned into a mega road trip starting with myself and GooseandEgg flying into Adelaide to collect a rental 4WD so we could drive an indirect route to St Arnaud and then on to Melbourne so we could fly home again.
The Goose had put a lot of planning into the trip so we could both complete or get close to completing our D/T grids, collect a number of good interesting caches and cache types we didn't have many off.
For me this was the best organised Mega I have been to, the stand out was how the committee had managed to get the whole St Arnaud community to welcome us all to the area, just about everyone we meet knew what we were there for and I had no awkward moments explaining what Geocaching was.

Today I headed out with biggles1024 to target a few caches and also work on a project cache over at Mt. Macedon, along the way we were able to pick up a few more, like this one.
We arrived in this little town and thought we might as well find what we can around here so we started with this one and that adds another cemetery that I have visited whilst geocaching.
We made our way to the said grave and collected the information that was required, the math was done and now with a destination, that's were we headed, once there the cache was spotted quickly and the log was signed.
**Thanks to Keeper of Time for placing this cache.**

**Multi Cache Find #313**
I headed out with SteMicMitSar to Mount Macedon to do some more work on a 'project' cache and also to attempt two nearby night caches.
Steve and I love multi's and this looked like a good one. We had no trouble obtaining the necessary information and then headed off to GZ. We should have read the cache page a little more thoroughly because we couldn't decide which side of the fence we would be best on. The cache page explicitly tells cachers which side it is best to be on.
No problems in spotting the cache, which Steve then retrieved. With the log signed, we were on our way.

An early start yesterday with Trailstevo to do a few events. Up at 5.20am and off we set for Lancefield to do the 5km Parkrun, picked up a few drive-by cache on the way before hand. Nice to meet a few of the locals at park run, a nice bunch, and then headed to the local bakery after for a Cappuccino and bacon and egg roll. After downing it we head for mount disappointment collecting a few cache on the way, and a DNF at on of the local old mines, and then the last 15 we needed on the power trail. Took the long way around in a few spots as i wasn't too impressed with some of the trails and risk of damaging the car. Eventually headed to the event an met a few of the geopeople I know, collected Melbourne 1st and enjoyed some stunning view. Thanks for all the hides everyone. We have a fun day out. TFTC
Melbourne's First turns 18 years old: sounded like an event party that I wanted to attend
So did dalerious and Cybergran V therefore we headed off into them thar hills and a day of geocaching where 1 event was attended, 1 DNF occurred and 19 finds were made.
I still managed to NOT get to a multi in Seymour that I have been wanting to finish for months and I also didn't get to finish the few Dad's Mt Dissa caches that I need to find to have completed the series nor to make a find on a recent DNF but then I guess that's just caches left for another day out!
When at the event I was once again reminded of the generosity of most geocachers when they shared their food with me (thank you [:X][:X] ) and after speaking with a motorcyclist whose bike had fallen and broken an engine cover[xx(] because with just a few attendees, there was someone heading close to the rider's home who offered him a lift so that he could quickly get his car and trailer and return for his bike! [^] Thanks BernieH [:X][^][:X]
As it was also an Earthcache Day an EC had to be found and so one was located that the 3 of us had not found and thus the journey home began with a tasty meal at a pub somewhere[?] It was a town with a wonderful cache at a PO... Lancefield [^]
Finally on the way home at 22:33, I found a cache by geobro that I had started years ago and not finished so that was a nice history lesson for the last cache find to end the day [^]
As I have been about 8 months behind in logging, I'm resorting to template logs to catch up.
My heartfelt thanks to the COs who have placed some tricky, funny, exercise required, scary, interesting and devious caches in some amazing spots! [^]
Rex and I have had some amazing adventures and enjoyed some incredible moments thanks to this fantastic hobby

Over 300 caches in 4 days means that the logs will be mainly generic.

Heading out for the day with Happy pants, while dropping my son's car off to him, as he turns 18 this week. It is a bitterly cold, winters’ day with heavy showers of rain falling intermittently during the day which forced us to take breaks while making a few finds for the day. No DNF's and not so many muggles about in the cold today, allowed for some easier searching opportunities. We discovered a few great and clever hides. A very successful day, as we got a number of caches, and great to catch up with my family and son.
I love wandering through old cemeteries. Stopped off and wandering in to find the head stone to gather the information needed to solve this one. Did was necessary but took the long way round to avoid the prickles, once a quick find was made at GZ.
I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. As of the start of 2018 my average was only 47 words per log, which seems a long way from the 100 target. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 7000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 50 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.
Thanks Keeper of Time for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

Taking the long way home from Wallan after our smallest person was at a ceremony for receiving the highest Joey scout award yesterday. Stopped to do the fourth cache in town. Love a good cemetery cache, interesting places. The new and old graves are mixed in here. Nice easy multi that worked well. Thanks keeper of time.

A straight forward multi, cache and contents were in excellent condition. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find.

Found this cache while in the area for the Alexandra Mega. Great to do caches by Keeper of Time. Am getting close to our 10,000 cache and am catching up on logs... I knew I hadn't logged all of the Power Trails nearby, surprised that I missed this one. TFTC...
Out and about with GOTHs plus a couple of extras, on a cache hunt. We were able to find many many of the excellent caches in this area.
Sorry for the generic log but now they are alll starting to merge into one in my brain.
Thanks to Keeper of Time from mogni

I nice walk through an old cemetery that is well looked after
Walked up to the back to get what was required and
sat down in the rotunda to work out the rest
I went to GZ and could not find a thing and after 15mins of searching I went back up to the starting coords and realised I messed up the dates
I put my birthday day in the month part as I share the same month I am so clever
Headed off with the new coords and soon had the cache in hand why did I make it so hard
Thanks Keeper Of Time TFTC

We were on an Easter Saturday excursion with thetaz. This was a pleasant walk through the boneyard to some old stuff up the hill, which gave us the new coords and a walk down the hill. Mrs thetaz was first to GZ only to be repelled by a large black spider which scuttled away, allowing the cache to be retrieved at 16:00. TFTC

Found with OzHockeyChick while out and about today. A nice quick easy multi. Tftc
We enjoyed wandering through the cemetery and reading the headstones, marvelling at the age of some of them, and saddened that so many kids and young people were buried here. Quick calculations made and off to sign the new log. OMG two giant huntsmans also enjoyed the new log and had set up home there. Yikes! Tried hard not to disturb them, stamped and returned as found. TFTC
Interesting history and area. A nice quiet spot to wander on a sunny Sunday afternoon, TFTC.
Weekend away with geo-hubby sampling the wineries and segway adventures in the area, so have to grab the local caches of course. This was a beautiful find, stunning Location with so much history. New log freshly signed (think we may have arrived just as it was being replaced!) No swaps though. TFTC
Fixed up the cache, new container and log book which seems to have already been signed.
Find #1302 for me. After gathering the required information at the gravesite, I made a quick find at GZ. There was one man who arrived at the same time as me but by the time I reached GZ he had gone so I had the cemetery all to myself. The log sheet was full so I had to squeeze my name in between other names. This cache also contributed to the Multicache Monthly Challenge for me this month, so a special thanks for placing this multicache here Keeper of Time!
Well kept cemetery. Day getting hot now. Still found an open gate and walked up to coordinates provided, got required info then back to cache. Easy find there.
Another late night cache with my geofamily and 4th cemetery for the day. Our new pb.
I worked in the area for 6 years, but never came here. TFTC

Late Entry, on our way home from a friend son's 21st we decided to make a stop and explore Lancefield, we have passed this way many times but never had time to stop, interesting Multi, the youngest member of our team enjoyed exploring the history in this area. After gathering the required information we headed of soon the log was in hand, signed and replaced, on a lovely quiet day, with no one around.
Awesome cache!!! Great trick at the end!! Log sheet is now full, needs changing, Thankyou very much for the cache!
Found by Team Ninja 15/11/16, find number 929.
I was lucky enough to have a day off work today so I went for a caching trip to Romsey and Lancefield during the afternoon.
I'm not a huge fan of cemetery caches but I was driving past this one so decided to give it a go. After obtaining a set of coordinates I went for a short walk but couldn't find the cache. I searched for about 10 minutes without any luck, as I was heading back to the car I decided to have a quick look on the other side of the fence and had the cache in about 30 seconds.
My thanks to Keeper of Time for placing and maintaining this cache.

A pleasant multi with an easy to do feel about it in a great little cemetery in central Victoria. No swooping magpies or anything else spotted while here, so peaceful and quiet.
Thanks Keeper of Time for this placement.

Beware ***SWOOPING MAGPIES***
Neat cemetery, and I mean neat, spick and span...
Enjoyed the walk around and the story at the published coordinates.

Found this one a couple of months ago after watching the little fella play footy out this way. Seeing as we're heading to Lancefield tomorrow for finals, I thought it was high time I logged it!! Hopefully the weather is better tomorrow than the day we actually found this one! TFTC
